It was Ironic. A pegasus dying from falling. I couldn't help but laugh as I fell. You see, There's something different about me. I was born without a magic gland, the thing that allows pegasi to fly, or walk on clouds, etc. But I WAS born with something else: a cutie mark.
The doctors were shocked, speechless even, never before had anypony been born with a cutie mark. It was always gained by doing something that you were destined to do, your talent in life.
I did not know mine. Nopony knew what it meant, it was a black star. And so that is what I was named, Black Star.
I grew up not knowing what I was going to do, what does a black star mean? Black magic? No, I am a pegasus. Space? Nopony had ever gone into space before, and I don't even think it's even possible.

My parents said I must be important. I sure don't feel important, with just being kicked out of a building. Literally. And as I fall, the Manehattan sunset looks beautiful. And then I saw it. A giant rainbow right above me. I instantly knew what it must have been: a sonic rainboom. The beautiful mare barely caught me before I hit the ground.

"Are you nuts?" she asked. "Why didn't you fly?" She continued before I could speak. "Why in the hay were you falling out of a building?"

Now was my chance to speak. "I was kicked, and I can't fly."

"Are you kidding me? Did you never learn?"

"I just can't fly, okay? I was born without a magic gland."

"Wait a second. Are you Black Star? I heard from my friend Twilight about you."

"No you wait a second. Do you mean THE Twilight? As in Twilight Sparkle? Whoah, You must be Rainbow Dash! The fastest flier in Equestria!"

"Its nothing. What we need to do is find that pony who kicked you. What did he look like?"

I couldn't remember. I was still dizzy from being kicked in the head. "I ... I can't remember. He just came right up to me and kicked me square in the face!"

We went up to the floor that had all the commotion. There were already police officers on the scene.

"You folks get back. We don't want everypony falling through the window."

"Its ok officers, this is the pony who fell." Rainbow Dash said.

"Are you hurt?" One of the officers called to me.

"I already checked him. He's fine other than a wicked headache."

"You're lucky Rainbow Dash caught you before you hit the ground."

"Yeah, I owe her my life." I replied.

"Well what happened that made you fall out of this window anyway?"

"I got kicked out. Literally."

"You should have told us! He's probably gotten away by now! What did you do to deserve being kicked?"

"Nothing! He just came right up to me and kicked me! He didn't even say anything. And before you ask I have no idea what he looks like."

"Well you officers do what you do. I'm going to take Black Star back to Ponyville so we can see if maybe Twilight has any magic to see what this guy looks like. We will notify you whenever we have any new information." Rainbow Dash stated.

Once we made it to Twilight's house I immediately helped myself to lay down on the couch. I was tired, after the long trek to Ponyville.

"So what happened?" Twilight asked.

"This is Black Star, I'm sure you have heard of him. And I just saved his flank from falling out of a building back in Manehattan. We were wondering if you had any spells to look into his memory or anything, to find out who kicked him. He has some amnesia after sustaining a kick to the head."

"Well, you're in luck, because I was just researching a spell to look into someponys memory. But you two should get some rest, it is the middle of the night after all."

"Are you kidding? I'm Rainbow Dash! I don't need to sleep!"

"And I disagree. Come back in the morning Rainbow Dash. Black Star, you are welcome to stay here as long as you need to."

"Oh, ok. I guess i'll see ya in the morning then Twilight." Rainbow dash left.

"Thanks Twilight, we will figure this out tomorrow, i'm sure."

"Good night, Black Star."

"Good night."

In the morning, I felt refreshed. My headache was gone, and Twilight was already awake. She was making breakfast.

"You look like your starving."

"I am!" We ate and then Rainbow Dash knocked on the door.

"Hey guys, we made headlines in the Manehattan times."

"You already flew to manehattan? This morning?"

"Yeah, It only took like 10 minutes." She boasted.

"Wow! You really are the fastest flier in Equestria!"

"Its nothing. So lets get this started shall we?"

"Are you ready Black Star?"

"Yes." I replied firmly. It felt weird, like I was being examined by aliens. It felt like an hour, and then finally Twilight spoke.

"Yes, I found out who did this, but I don't think you are going to believe me."

And that's when a giant black/green creature broke down the door and grabbed Twilight. We were so shocked. It moved like lightning and had no hesitation. It quickly flew away with Twilight squirming in its giant arms. Rainbow Dash took off after it but it knocked her right out of the sky with lightning speed and strength. I rushed over to her and asked her if she was ok.

"Yes, i'm fine. Where did that thing go!?"

But it was already out of sight. We had no idea what direction it took off in.

"I ... I don't think we can save her." Rainbow Dash said.

"WHAT? The mighty Rainbow Dash doesn't think we can save her! Come on! Get ahold of your self!"

"That creature was so fast. Even I can't compete with that." She sobbed.

"I swear we will find her and get her back! With God as my witness!"
