THE NEW YEAR
"Oh no" i thought "I'm late!! " i jumped out of bed, put on my black and whit plaid fedora and matching scarf, shoved a banana in my mouth and ran out the door only to run into something brown and yellow.
CHAPTER 1
" Here you are sweet heart, you'r new school." i hear my moms voice crack.
"Mom, don't cry. I'm not that far away from home." i say trying to calm her down.... but that did not work. She started sobbing, making her whit cheeks gray as her mascara ran down her cheeks."Don't cry." i say again
"You'r right" she says. I hand her a tissue to wipe of the running makeup.
"Well i need to go now or i'll be late for the welcoming speech." I say trying to get this over with. As i open my wings to fly to the door my mom stops me." oh, and don't forget to write!"
"OK, bye" I say. About half way to the door i hear
"And don't forget to do you'r laundry Gillian."
"Ugh." By the way my name is Gillian Miller, my friends call me Gill. I am a whit Pegasus with medium lengthened light brown main and tale.My cutie mark is all the keys on a piano in the middle C scale. My talent is playing piano! I practice the piano all the time and i master every song pretty fast. Anyway when i walked into the two big spruce wood doors if the school i was amazed. There are 3 levels, the first floor has a marble flooring, and the walls are a shiny diamond blue. The ceiling is made of beautiful patterns of stained glass and in the middle of the room is a big marble spiral stair case. As i went up i saw that the second floor had a subtle light purple carpet and that the third floor had oak wood flooring.
When I got the the top of the stairs i took out my schedule and looked for my room number. Room 322.
"let's see" i say scanning the hallway. 310.....320....AHA!! i trot over to the door labelled 322, put in the key and open the door. "Ew." i mutter as i scan the room. The room has a simple ceiling fan/light, bunk bed, two desks, two little closets, and one window. The walls are a boring beige and the flooring and furniture are oak wood.
"Do you like you'r new home?" i was so startled that i catapulted into the air, bang my head against the ceiling and fall to the ground. I straiten my glasses and as my eyes began to focus i see a blue pony with a brown mane and tail and purple eyes with thin glasses. I stand up and look at the cutie mark.....its an apple with an "A+" over it in gold lettering. The principals cutie mark.
" Are you OK?" she asks.
"Um, yes I think so Principal Brown."
"Oh call me Ms. Brown, its been three year of being principal and it still doesn't sound right to me." We both laugh at this.
" OK, um... Ms. Brown? Are students allowed to redecorate there room?" I ask planing a plan in my head.
"Why yes, yes you are. You can add carpeting (but it wouldn't be permanent, of course), paint the walls, and paint the wood furnishings but for the furnishings you wood have to use one of the schools paints. OK?"
"Perfect" i say making some modification on my plan now that i know what I can do.
"But! You need to make sure it's OK with you'r roommate." Oh no, a roommate. I completely forgot that we got roommates.
"Also since you'r roommate won't be here till the second semester, then you can do what you want." She turns to leave, then says "Oh and you don't have any classes today." and leaves.
When i wake up I find myself sprawled on my new carpeting. Yesterday i worked hard on redecorating my room till it was perfect. The ceiling is whit with an oak wood ceiling fan and the walls are a sky blue and has an average blue carpet. I repainted the bunk bed and the two little closets whit and put a dark finish on the desks so they are dark brown. *RING* The bell goes off signaling the students to wake up and then the announcements start.
"Time to wake up students! Today is you'r first day of school! You have from 7:00 am to 7:30 am to have breakfast and the 5 more min. to get to class. Have a nice day!" Oh ya, today is the first day of college. I get up brush my main and tale put on my light gray fedora and matching scarf and go out the door to breakfast. Right when I leave my room i barely have time to close the door befor
e i am rush into the crowd of students.
"Oh sorry-ow watch where you'r stepping- hey that my tale you'r stepping on-OW!!" I fly into the air trying to keep from getting trampled on when suddenly I'm pulled down to the ground.
"Hey whitey! No flying in the hallway!" I'm all of a sudden pulled to the ground.
"Who's to tell me what to-" i stop when i see who pulled me down. Tony. Tony is a school hall monitor. He is a strong earth pony who used to be in the military. He is a tall brown pony with a shaved head and a stump of a tale. His cutie mark is a black square with a yellow bordering and a white star in the middle with a yellow bordering around the star.
"Excuse me?" he said.
"Oh sorry Tony! I didn't know it was you."
"Well you should now. So no flying in the hallway, OK?"
"Got it." I open my wings but immediately fold them back up again. I walk with the crowd to my first class room. Today I have Language arts then AVID, Singers, lunch, French, and then Social studies. Tomorrow is a "B" day so I will have Science, Art, Singers, lunch, Gym, and then Math.
At the end of the day I was exhausted. I met up with one of my best friends after school. His name is Michael, I've know him since kindergarten. He is a whit unicorn with shortish blond mane and tail. He has blue eyes and light blue magic. No we are not dating, despite what you might think. "Wow. Did you leave any room for your roommates stuff?" Michael asked wile looking at my room. "Well my roommate isn't coming till the middle of the school year so i just decorated to my content." I replied, flying to my desk. "Well anyway, how was your first day of school?" "fine." I replied with a sigh. "Are you OK?" "Yes i'm fine." He always gets worried over small things that me and my friend do, like a sigh or a when you stop smiling after a bit of silence in a conversation. We continued talking and laughing for about an hour and a half before we decided to round up our other friends (Sophie, Emma, and Elie (Emma's colt friend)) and go get dinner.
-The first day of the second semester-
