Magic originates from the beginning of time. Before ponies ruled Equestria, there were the Draconequi. These ferocious beings of darkness pillaged the land, changing it and altering it. This was the first use of magic, known as Kaos.

Kaos spread like a plague, even making it's way into the Equestrian language. Known there as Chaos; the root of Evil and Disharmony. The Draconequi were lead by three brothers:

Ma'at: The all-seeing

O'der: The all-knowing.

and their youngest sibling

Kaos: The all-powerful.
