A New Day
Dear _________
You have been accepted to go to Eclipse Academy under a degree in the art of magic. You have passed your entire magic test with flying colors in the past and can’t wait to see what you can do in person. When you arrive stop by the Lunar Building where you will meet me and where you will obtain your schedule, uniform, and room key. Once you arrive at the airport a couple of students will be there to pick you up, they will be wearing their school uniforms so they shouldn’t be a challenge to find. You will be sharing a room in Dorm A and they have been notified of your arrival. We hope you have a great and successful year here at Eclipse Academy.

As you stared at the paper for the one millionth times during your flight, you set the note down and look back to what’s laid out on your desk. An incomplete magic circle, a basic one at that for a levitation spell that could be performed by almost anyone with the power of magic. But to fully master a spell one must decipher and understand it’s meaning through the magic circle, only some that are truly gifted in magic can see magic circles which helps them understand and fully master spells. There are only a few spells even masters of magic cannot understand; one example is Starswirl’s time reversal spell. Even he could not fully master it and he was the one who invented it. You pulled a thin black notebook with a Crescent moon on the front; it was the book you kept your best or difficult magic circles in. As you opened up the notebook to where your bookmark was in front of you was the magic circle for the time reversal spell.
You flipped through the page after page seeing many failures of the circle to decipher it, but you stopped after a minute. The circle laid out in front of you was the closest you were getting to deciphering it, so far you just have to finish it up a little more and it might be possible to stop time for a little bit. After a little bit a voice on the intercom said to put away any lose items, so you bookmarked the page and packed your bag. Once more you waited as the plane landed and once docked everyone on the flight started to leave. As you obtained your bag, the search for your ride begins but it doesn’t take long as you see a rainbow headed girl with cyan wings scanning the area in a uniform.
Below her was a girl with neat curly purple hair, wearing the same uniform as the girl above her waiting patiently. As you walked over to them the girl with the purple curls noticed you and stood there to make sure you were the student that was supposed to be picked up.
“Hey you and that rainbow headed girl wouldn’t happen to be students to Eclipse Academy would you?” Blunt and to the point is how you usually greeted people. The girl in front of you replied with a yes and quickly called her friend down.  As she landed and began looking at you as if you were something alien to her, but you ignored her for a moment as you introduced yourself. The purple haired girl’s name was Rarity, and her rainbow headed friend was Rainbow Dash. So after talking for a few minutes Rarity decided it was time to head to the school. Once you approached the car that was as white as snow but ignoring that all of you began the drive home. On the way there they asked you questions about yourself which you replied to.
After about half an hour the campus to the academy, Rarity pulled up to the gates and dropped you and Rainbow off as she went to go park her car. Rainbow quickly pointed out the Lunar building that was a deep navy blue with star’s all over and in front was a full moon, so after saying bye you walked over and began to notice some students even though it was the afternoon were looking at you but they were ignored. Once inside the office was nearby, when you approached it a sign on the door said ‘Co-Headmaster Luna’s office’ so you knocked and heard a voice
“Come in”. As you open the door you stared at Luna who was looking right back at you before you sat your stuff down and sat down in front of her desk.
“It’s nice to finally meet you; we have been looking forward to your arrival. But before I give you your schedule I want to make an offer. How would you like to be my personal student? I have seen all of your magic scores and have talked to your past teachers about your amazing skills and needless to say we are impressed. Our dear older sister has her own personal student named Twilight Sparkle which who you will meet soon. It is completely up to you to accept this request or not, if you do accept it I will be teaching you personal what I know in the arts of magic but you still will have the basic classes just extra tutoring and if you don’t accept you still will have normal classes just that your magic courses will be advanced.” As you thought over you're options you accepted Luna’s proposal, after a couple of questions and making sure everything was set she handed you everything you would need for the school year. As she locked up the first building happened to be Dorm A which is where you will be staying, Luna said good night and walked off to the Teacher’s Dorm as you walked into your dorm. The main living room had some activity in it but you ignored meeting anyone till you were all set. As walked through the hallway making sure you were in the correct place you found your room ‘Room A50’ but before you pulled out your keys you were reminded you had a roommate that you didn’t want to startle by just walking in. Once you knocked you heard the stopping of water you guessed they just got out of the shower.
“Hold on just a second please” Said a feminine voice, but that surprised you no way they allowed guys and girls to share a room but that idea was shot down when the door opened. In front of you stood a girl with azure eye’s, her hair was still messy but had different streaks of purple going through the front of her hair, but what surprised you most was that she was only wearing a TOWEL!
“Hi you must be my new roommate? My name is Twilight Sparkle it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Twilight replied with a smile, but not wanting to be rude you introduced yourself with a stutter but she quickly cached on to that and was wondering why you were flustered. But then she looked down and saw she was only wearing a bath towel as the blood rose from her face embarrassed as she pushed you and slammed the door. After a painful five minutes Twilight opens the door still flustered and invites you in.
“Sorry about that, I guess I should have put on some actual clothes but I was in a hurry to see who was at the door.” She said as you looked around the room. In the back of the room there were a pair of patching desk for each side but Twilight’s side was all set up compared to yours, it looked plain while her side had old test and pictures hanging from her wall. As you set your bag down and began unpacking you and Twilight were telling each other a little about one another, she was telling you how she got into the gifted school of magic, a highly elite school for those in magic. But you weren't able to go to do your parents not having enough money, and she also told you she was Headmaster Celestia’s personal student which is something Luna told you about but it slipped your mind after the little incident.
“Oh yeah that reminds me Twilight, from today on I’m now Headmaster Luna’s personal student, seems like they put us here on purpose so if both of us are needed we are right here.” Twilight seemed surprised to hear that you were Luna’s personal student but after an assault of questions you looked at the time to see it time for dinner. Twilight said you could join her and a friend for dinner or she could bring you something back, so you decided to go with her. Along the way people were looking at you knowing that you weren’t here before.
“LOOK OUT!” Said a voice, but you weren’t quick enough as you were sent into the wall. When you opened your eyes a girl with golden hair and eyes that were out of placed was looking right back at you. “Ow! Ow! Ow! Oh I’m sorry are you all right; I looked away for a second and lost control of how I was flying.” After she finished her ramble she noticed she was still sitting on top of your chest which her face went red and quickly jumped up. After clearing everything up she introduced herself as Ditzy Doo or her nickname ‘Derpy’ which you didn't like. But keeping that comment to yourself she realized she still had something to do as she once again and said sorry and ran off. You and Twilight once again began walking and stopped under a tree on a hill where a girl wearing a green turtle neck sweater with a yellow skirt, and pink hair was sitting on the bench feeding the squirrels and birds. Twilight walked over to her as the two started a conversation, as you walked over Twilight began to introduce you. The pink hair girl in front of you looked nervous but Twilight said  her name was Fluttershy and like her name says she is very shy. As you began your walk you felt a sudden force knock you over but once again as you opened your eyes a girl with pink hair that was put into pig tails smiled as her eyes were locked into yours.
“Oh oh oh oh oh, you must be new since I haven’t seen you around before. So what do you like? Do you like parties? I absolutely love parties, there one of the best things I can think of. Where are you from?” The hyper girl on top of you was suddenly picked up by a girl with a blonde hair but what surprised you most was her Stetson that sat on top of her head.
“Sorry ‘bout that partner, she’s just a bit hyper is all, anyway you must be new ‘ta name’s AppleJack but you can just call me AJ. The hyper one I’m holding here is Pinkie Pie.” At the mention of her name Pinkie waved to you as you got up, once you got up Fluttershy who you thought would keep her distance was making sure you were all right. All of you began to head to the café when twilight asked who you  have meet so far, so far there is Luna, Twilight, Fluttershy, AJ, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Derpy. Twilight seemed surprised at the sound of hearing you have meet Rainbow and Rarity as you told them they were the ones that picked you up.

After getting your food and sitting down some students noticed you and began talking to you and asking if you were new. After about half an hour of eating and talking during that time you have meet Thunderlane, Octavia, Lyra, Bon Bon, Colgate, Rose Luck, and Lily.
“It seems someone has been getting a lot of attention.” Said Twilight snickering, you couldn’t blame anyone for wanting to know who the new kid was. But as it was getting late everyone was starting to head back to their dorms before curfew. So you, Twilight, and Fluttershy headed towards dorm A, while AJ and Pinkie Pie walked to dorm B. After you got to your room you and Twilight said bye to Fluttershy as she headed towards her own room. Once inside you walked over toward your new desk and pulled out your notebook. Twilight said she had homework to do so there wasn't that much activity going on. You pulled out your sketching pencil and began to sketch lightly, after adding a few more lines you smiled in victory as once again you were getting closer to figuring out the magic to Starswirl’s own Time Reversal spell.
“Might I ask what you’re so happy about?” Twilight asked, you told her it was a secret which you wanted to surprise everyone with it. So Twilight put away all her books and said it was time for curfew. Once she turned off the lights you stood up and walked over towards the windows and stared at the night sky, something you always did right before you fell asleep.
“You know I was always fascinated with the stars since I was little.” Twilight told you as you kept looking towards the sky; you told her that it was something that you always did. That the stars were there for you during the happy and sad moments in your life. As you walked toward your bed and lay down you just pondered over what awaits you at this new school.

The Start Of A New Year
“Hey it’s time to get up.” Said a voice which you wanted to ignore, but when you tried to go back to sleep the blanket was torn off you but when you opened your eyes to see who the annoyance was it was Twilight already in her uniform glaring at you.
“Come on if you don’t get ready, you’re going to be late and you don’t want that on your first day right?” Twilight asked as you groggily got up from the comfort of your bed. As you walked over and picked up your new uniform and going to the bathroom to change. After you got changed you actually paid attention to what the uniform looked like. The pants and jacket were a navy blue that matched the night sky, there was a regular dress shirt but was optional to where a tie or not, and on the breast pocket was a symbol of the school, an eclipse but what you didn't notice before was a moon next to it.
“Hey Twilight, I noticed there is a moon on my uniform while everyone else has just the eclipse, care to explain why that is?” Your question got a groan from Twilight as she went on to tell you why that is.
“Well most students have just the school symbol but if you are good enough to obtain the level of personal student under the headmasters or any teachers you are given their symbol to prove of your skills. Like my uniform for example has the regular eclipse symbol but also has a sun that represents I am Headmaster Celestia’s personal student.” After Twilight finished explaining you looked at her uniform, it consisted of a black skirt with the same dress shirt and blue coat. After getting fully ready You and Twilight walked toward the cafeteria to get some breakfast and noticed everyone was already up and about getting ready for school or hanging out before class starts. You looked over your schedule and started asking Twilight how to get to each class.
“HEY TWILIGHT! NEW KID! OVER HERE!” What was once a peaceful walk to breakfast was cut short as Rainbow dropped from the sky with her wings spread out.
“Say I didn't know you two have already met each other, so new kid does that mean you have talked to the rest of our friends?” You responded by telling her the events of last night, but she groaned saying that she would have joined but had to do a lot of studying which really seemed out of character for her.
“We were just on our way to breakfast care to join us Rainbow?” Rainbow gladly accepted the offer and all three of you proceeded to the cafeteria. AS you walked you noticed how everyone seemed to be getting along with everyone, all of you even stopped to listen to a girl with a lyre which her music sounded like angels would be jealous of. After about ten minutes of walking and all of you getting food everyone proceeded to sit down. Twilight and Rainbow wanted to look at your schedule and apparently you had some classes with them along with the rest of their friends. In the Solar Building was Algebra with Twilight, Anatomy with Fluttershy, and Physics with Pinkie. In the lunar building you had magic practice with Rarity and Twilight, and PE with AJ and Rainbow. The first class of the day was physics and Twilight and Rainbow laughed when they found out who your teacher was but made sure you didn't know. So as you began walking through the incredibly long hallways of the Solar Building, more than a couple of students looked at you with curiosity. When you got to the classroom your jaw dropped. It was a full out lecture hall easily the size of a collage class room. Some students were preparing for class and others were just messing around but you noticed Pinkie in the middle row writing something down. As you walked up the stairs she noticed you and waved you over.
“Hey I didn't know we would have Physics together this will be the best classroom every now, so how are you enjoying the school so far?” As you sat down next to pinkie preparing to class and answering the questions she was telling you that the teacher was weird but made physics fun. You could feel some eyes on you and heard a couple of students point out the moon on your uniform making them even more curious of you. The bell finally rang as everyone began settling down and preparing to take notes, what you expected to be an old geezer as a teacher was completely blown away when you saw him. He looked about late 30’s, had tan skin, silver hair, a goatee, red eyes, and completely mismatching clothes.
“MORNING MR. DISCORD!” Pinkie yelled next to you as he laughed, you just sat there jaw dropped as she was on a friendly level.
“Well good morning class it seems all of you are in a good mood, oh and it seems we have a new student in the class. Pinkie care to explain who your new friend is?” Pinkie bounced right up from her seat and began introducing you to the class; Mr. Discord began examining you even from the distance between you and your eyes locked on to where he was looking, the moon on your uniform. He smiled and had Pinkie sit back down and began with the lecture.
After about half an hour you just left dumbfounded, somehow the teacher could use his magic to break the laws of physics itself. You wanted to see if it was true while the other students laugh as he made them get a cloud and put it over your head. With just a snap of his fingers the cloud turned pink and chocolate rain began falling on your head. Thankfully with your magic the uniform you had on was saved and completely fine. As you began walking the next class you had was Anatomy, when you reached their you saw some people already set up and prepared to take notes but in the second row was Fluttershy on the end sitting all alone compared to the rest of the class that were talking among themselves.
“Hey Fluttershy, mind of I sit here?” She jumped up the sound of your voice but quickly calmed down and said it was all right. As you prepared once again to take notes there was little talking compared to your earlier encounter with Pinkie but you didn't mind. Her friends pointed out it take time to get to know her and before she openly talks but you didn't mind. The bell rang as class started once again. After class was over and saying bye to Fluttershy you began walking to your Algebra class, as you entered the classroom you noticed Twilight in the front row all set up and reading a book waiting for class to start.
“Yo Twilight, how has your day been?” Twilight completely ignored you and continued to read her book, but you kept trying to get her attention until she finally caught on someone were trying to get her attention.
“Oh hey, how long have you been there?” Twilight asked but didn’t get the answer in time as the bell rang and she picked up her pencil ready to take notes while you did the same. The teacher looked normal for the first time since you came into this school, he had messy brown hair, and wore a brown trench coat along with matching dress pants. He noticed you and once again you had to introduce yourself to the class.
“Well it’s to meet you; you may call me The Doctor.” After he said that you face planted on the desk and groaned. Can’t any teacher be normal around here? You thought to yourself as he started the lecture. After class ended it was time for lunch before you headed off to the rest of your class. Twilight dragged you along to meet with the rest of the girls but escaped her grasp before she ripped off your arms. After obtaining your lunch she guided you over to a lone tree on top of a hill where the rest of the girls were.
“Hey guys, so new kid how has your first day been?” Rainbow asked which you proceeded to tell them of today’s events. When you got to the point where your physics teacher made chocolate milk rain on your head they all lost it while you glared. But the rest of the day went on pretty normal but you heard the bell ring and so did the girls marking lunch to be over. All of you walked over the Lunar building where students began switching places. Besides you, Rarity, and Twilight the rest of you walked over to the classroom where you would practice magic and learn more about it. When you walked in the room was slightly darker than in the solar building with the walls painted blue while the Solar building was white. You sat down in the front and pulled out your notebook and were ready for class. The teacher walks in and he looked younger than the rest of the teachers. He had long blue hair that reached down to his shoulders and stood proud. Twilight whispered to you that the teacher was actually her older brother Shining Armor which surprised you.
“Good afternoon class, oh and it seems we have a new student with us which I have heard about from the fellow teachers. I won’t have you introduce like before you will and then show us some of your magic if you would like since I have also been told you are Headmaster Luna’s personal student.” Everyone started talking among themselves when they heard that but you completely ignored as you stood up to the front of the class and introduced yourself.
“I will have you start off with a simple spell, why not try and ice spell.” He summoned up a dummy which you stood away from and began focusing. Usually magic is conjured through the hands but everyone was confused when they saw your eyes glowing instead of your hands. The magic circle you have grown used to seeing appears as you shot the magic at the target, which normally would have just frozen the enemy was overkill when you hit it. A glacier appeared and completely engulfed the dummy as snow even began falling in the classroom. Everyone stood their shocked while you smirked and unfroze the dummy as it was completely destroyed by the spell.
“I think I used to little power.” You said to everyone and you laughed as you saw Shining with a shocked expression.
“Hold on before you go back to your seat I want to see if you break my defense magic. I must warn you even the headmasters have trouble breaking my shields.” Everyone just starred at you and Shining armor as you smirked and your eyes began glowing again. He charged up his magic and was completely engulfed in a purple force field, the magic circle appeared as you shot lighting at the target which was deflected but then a Column of lighting struck the shield and even left a few cracks. You put your hands together as you conjured up two swords and charged at your target. Shining smirked at your attempt but it quickly vanished as half of the shield was destroyed after you hit it. You stabbed the shield leaving the arcane sword in it and teleported away from your target and began charging up your magic as millions of needles hovered around the shield. You swung your hand down and all the needles began attacking the shield chipping away at it. The shield finally broke and you charged at Shining and slammed your palm against his chest.
“I win, and might I add that was fun.” You smirked; you looked back at your classmates but saw all of them in shock and none of them moving as you sat down next to Twilight who had the same reaction.  After class ended and you actually pushing a completely frozen Twilight out the door. She finally snapped out of her trance and you began walking to PE, everyone you passed looked at you and with a smirk you continued your walk. When you finally reached the gym where everyone gathered for PE, AJ and Rainbow were on you in an instant asking you what happened in your last class. At first they didn’t believe you but you used your magic to show them what went on and they were frozen like everyone else. You quickly got a water bottle and poured water on their head which they gasped and glared at you.
“Hey what was that for?” Rainbow yelled, you told her that you couldn't have her freezing up before class started. The coach was different than you imagined, the first coach was a female with orange and yellow hair that reached past her shoulders, the other one was male and had blue hair that was long but not as long as his partner.
“All right students, I want you to go outside and give me as many laps as you can now GO!” She blew her whistle and everyone began running outside immediately. When you reached the track Rainbow and AJ was head to head racing each other knocking over anyone in there was as you ran as fast as you could so you wouldn't get run over by the two. When class finally ended you were sweating and panting like crazy while AJ and Rainbow were fighting over who won. When the final bell rang everyone began heading off ready to hang out with their friends as you limped out of the building with sore legs from all the running. You approached the hill you sat by during lunch and laid down and closed your eyes. But after a couple minutes the sound of stomping caused you to sit up and you saw an angry Twilight.
“Oh no you’re not down with lessons yet, or did you forget that you have personal lessons with Luna.” You groaned as you got up and began walking with her the main building. When you finally reached the courtyard in the back no one was there besides you and Twilight as the two of you sat down by the fountain. The door opened and closed as you saw Luna, Shining, and a woman you didn't know who you assumed was headmaster Celestia.
“Good afternoon Twilight, and hello to you two young man. I have heard good things about you and hope to see great things from you along with my student.” Celestia said in a voice that sounded motherly but had a strong sense of wisdom in it. Luna cleared her throat ready to talk whenever her sister finished.
“We have heard of your skills from Shining Armor and we are impressed. Not even Tia and I could easily smash through Shining’s defense magic. But for someone of your age to have such skills is beyond what I expected, we are honored to call you our personal student.” Luna finished up, you bowed to her saying thank you but Celestia began to talk again.
“So to make up for us not seeing your skill in person I was hoping to see if you and Twilight could have a magic duel.” Both you and Twilight yelled what but were quickly calmed down by looking at Celestia who had a peaceful smile. Both you and Twilight started walking away from each other and turned around as your mentors stood far away. Luna raised her hand was ready to signal the beginning of the duel.
“Aaaaand begin!” Luna lowered her hand, which the very second you used your magic to speed up and was behind Twilight now. She didn't have time to react as you quickly used ice magic to freeze her feet in place before you jumped up with lightning flowing through your arms. Twilight launched her own lightning spell but while you countered it you made a clone of yourself and the clone quickly used wind magic to lift her off the ground. Both you and your clown were ready to use more magic but the planned was ruined as Twilight began floating and destroyed your magic clone and started firing a volley of lighting spells at you. But what you didn’t notice was that above you were orbs of light which surround you and all launched at you. Twilight smirked as the smoke cleared up but you stood there with nothing more than a little bit or tore clothes as you held your arcane swords with absorbed the spell. You quickly through both swords in the air and they teleported around twilight and began surrounding her. You were above her ready to strike when something interrupted you.
“That’s enough!” The voice yelled as the swords vanished and you landed on the ground away from Twilight. Luna and Celestia both walking towards you as both of you panted from using so much magic.
“That was a very impressive display of magic and skill, which will be all for today. You have the rest of the day to do as you please. You and Twilight walked out the door after saying by to your tutors and began talking to each other about the match.
“So I was wondering how you always managed to get behind me, is it a teleportation spell or maybe a speed spell?” Twilight asked you.
“Actually none of those, you know of Starswirls time travel spell? Well I have altered the spell multiple times to the point where I have made a spell to slow down time and maybe in the future stop time itself!” You exclaimed, Twilight just starred at you once more as if you were crazy but saw why you were so fast. Both of you went to your dorm and got changed out of your uniforms and into some causal clothes. Twilight told you that all the girls and you if you wanted to go were going to see a movie. You walked over to the gate with Twilight, her causal clothes was a green skirt, with a purple vest that had a star surrounded by a few stars. Your clothes were jeans, t-shirt, and a trade mark jacket a friend gave you. As you approached the gate all the girls were in there causal clothes, Rarity was wearing a skirt similar to Twilight's but her clothes were pure white, Fluttershy was wearing a green skirt, and a yellow turtle neck. Pinkie was wearing jeans and a pink shirt with a balloon design all over it. Rainbow was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts, and AJ was wearing a pair of Levi’s, an orange shirt with three apples on it, and her usually Stetson.
“Well that makes all of us, are we ready to head out?” Twilight asked which everyone responded yes. Most of the girls were walking ahead of you but you didn't mind, Fluttershy was hanging out in the back and you decided to keep her company. You heard a strange sound and looked over to Fluttershy feeding a bird while walking.
“Wow Fluttershy, you must have a pretty impressive talent with animals to get a bird to be perched on your fingers while walking.”
“Oh um t-thank you, y-you know I always wanted to a veterinarian since I was little. I’ve always liked animals, so all I want to do is help them. Oh listen to me ramble on I’m sorry.” You patted Fluttershy on the head and told her it was all right if she wanted to talk more, it was great to hear what your friends liked and what they want to be. You told her that your dream was to be a teacher of magic and be known for your skills.
“Just watch, I will soar like an eagle and show the world what I can do. I will help this world and teach the future generations the passion and skill of magic.” Fluttershy giggled and wished you good luck on accomplishing your dream. You finally made it to the movie theaters and the girls were purchasing tickets as you paid for your own and walked over with the rest of them. All of you sat down and watched the movie play out, but something caught your attention which you looked around for. It was a strange presence and you told the rest of the girls that you had to use the bathroom. The girls continued to watch the movie and didn't notice when you came back later in the movie. Fluttershy looked over and noticed you shoving a pendant in your pocket and was quite curious as to what it was for but ignored it and didn't want to pry into your business. After the movie it was almost time for curfew when all of you began walking back towards campus.
“Ummmm _____ I have a question, I noticed you had a pendant. I-if you don’t m-mind me asking w-who is it from.” You told her it was from a friend as a farewell gift and she smiled and continued walking. When you reached campus all of you split up to your dorms and managed to reach the dorms a minute before curfew. Twilight was taking a shower while you sat in the room looking over the pendant, you quickly looked around and placed the pendant on the bed and cast a spell making an illusion of you sleeping. You opened up the window and slid out unnoticed and began running off covered in the shadows of the night.
Twilight got out of her shower and noticed you sound asleep and began crawling into bed. You were a lot better than she originally though, at first thought she had of having to share a room now made here mad saying how she wouldn't be able to focus. But thanks to her teacher she was convicted and was glad Celestia got through to her. As she fell asleep she didn't notice the illusion vanish and become transparent as you weren't really in the room.
