Equestria, a New World. (Undergoing rewrite)
7. The Corruption.
Previous Chapter"Anyway, I have stuff I need to do." I said, turning to the door behind me.
"What kind of stuff?" I heard Twilight ask.
"Uh... stuff you would prevent me from doing even though I have to do it." I said quickly opening the door and sprinting in the direction of the corruption before being stopped by a familiar lavender magical aura.
"I would like to know." Twilight said.
"Damn. Fine. I found the corruption and I plan to dig for what little Demonite ore is likely there. And maybe fight the eater of worlds there..." I said and at the same time I began to struggle against her magical grip on me.
"Then I am coming with you to make sure nothing bad happens." Twilight said.
"The only bad thing that would happen would be that you would likely die while we're there." I said.
"You would probably die too!" She said
"Touche. But I would respawn." I said, but then I remembered the crimson I saw surrounding the portal when I first found it. How did it get there? The crimson had been destroyed hundreds of years ago by the corruption from what I know about Terraria's history. If it wasn't destroyed, then why reappear NOW? Then I realized it. It wanted to get into Equestria!
"Darn! Can I please come with you? To help?" Twilight asked.
"Ugh... fine. But when were attacked you better defend yourself with you're magic" I said, reopening the door and walking in the direction of the corruption, with Twilight walking, or trotting, in her case, beside me. I saw a lots of grass and trees and rocks and stuff.
"I hear some kind of loud wet slapping coming from behind us." Twilight commented, making me stop and think what? I turned around and saw the largest slime I have ever seen in all of my lives.
"Holy shit." I said. I was too shocked to move out of the way of the slime jumping on me and swallowing me whole. I felt a slight, but growing burning sensation on my skin. I then realized that I was being digested. I took out my golden sword and started swinging it wildly, but sluggishly inside it, effectively hurting it and spitting me out. I looked at it closely and noticed it had a ninja suit in the center of it, showing that it was smarter than normal slime's. Speaking of normal slime's, the damage I did to it made it create a few, making the larger slime smaller. I then realized what I needed to do. Attack it until it creates so many small slime's that it gets so small I could finish it off.
"Twilight, attack it until it dies!" I commanded, simultaneously swinging my sword at it.
"Kill it?! Nothing deserves to die! Even if it's evil or just acting on instinct. Any killing that happens will not be by my hooves!" Twilight said. Backing a nice distance away for an effective boss battle to occur.
"Damn. This is gonna be hard." I said, continuing to swing my sword at it and the smaller slime's. Soon, my arm started to ache a little from using my sword so much, so I backed away and started using my silver bow with flaming arrows, effectively setting it on fire for a bit. I kept shooting arrows at it, making the slime slowly get smaller and smaller. Eventually I ran out of fire arrows that I resorted to my Jester's arrows, which exploded on impact, creating many tiny stars all different colors, making a beautiful display. I did not have many left so I switched back to my sword and swung at the slime's.
"Nightshade. Nightshade! NIGHTSHADE!" Twilight yelled, Grabbing my attention. "Stop! Can't you see it's trying to run? It's given up and knows it will die if it continues." When she finished, I looked at the MUCH smaller but still biggish slime that was attempting to hop away, presumably for it's life.
"I have never, ever seen a slime run away for it's life." I said, surprised, and I stopped my attack. I had a feeling it will stick to small harmless animals now. "Anti-climactic but alright." Then I sheathed my golden sword, which, was admittedly actually kinda small. "Alright. Lets continue to the corruption. Where not so bad challenges await. Except for one. But that's a surprise." So, we continued to the corruption. Trees gradually became fewer, the grass became more sickly, the atmosphere started to have a darker tone to it, the air was stale, and I knew we were nearing it.
"I have never sensed so much evil." Twilight said, an uneasy tone in her voice.
"It's actually worse. The corruption is a nasty thing. It wants to render this world uninhabitable. To make way for the more evil creatures, which would then travel to other worlds, and spread it some more." I explained, seeing the grass become purple, and a few tree's leaves purple. "Wait. Don't step on the grass. I just remembered what happens when something without enough harmony or will steps on the corruption." I said, using my left arm to stop Twilight.
"I'm an element. I'm sure I will be fine." Twilight said, not stopping and stepping on the grass anyway. There was a loud hiss, and purple smoke was rising from the grass, which was now back to it's original green state, before succumbing to the corruption once more, now resistant to the harmony inside of Twilight.
"I have not seen that before. But it looks like it was only temporary. I guess the corruption has never faced that much harmony before, but it must be struggling against it since the grass is only tinted a shade of purple." I said, observing it. Then I noticed something disturbing. A nearby slime hopped onto the corruption, and then stopped for a small time, before just collapsing and seeping into the soil. "Uhhh.... The corruption seems quite a bit more dangerous than back in Terraria. I have honestly never seen a slime just die on being exposed to the corruption. Normally they just keep on hopping as if nothing happened. No. Something isn't right."
"I have an idea about this. You're world doesn't have harmony correct?" Twilight asked.
"It does, but only in the fabled Hallow." I said.
"Then because of the large amounts of harmony here, the corruption must be gaining more power after turning it." She explained.
"That makes sense, and I have noticed that it is also spreading slower, probably because the world is resisting." I said understanding that the corruption is much more dangerous, but slower too. "We better be fast then. Because then the Eaters of Souls will likely be twice as tough."
"E-Eaters of S-Souls?" She asked, scared now. Then I realized that they must not have creatures that are this dangerous. But they do now.
"Yeah, when they kill you, it's horribly painful, and they also take a bite of you're soul when you die." I said. "It's not pleasant. But don't worry, you're soul will regenerate, given enough time." I then walked into the corruption, searching for chasms. I heard some gurgling, so I take out my bow and search for what made the sound. Then when I found it, I almost shit myself. "W-what the fuck is that?!" I exclaimed, rapidly firing arrows at it. The Eater of Souls was SO big! But then it spit at me, and the spit hit me, immediately making me think dark and evil thoughts, and I became sick to my stomach. "That's not an Eater of Souls I can tell you that... It's something much worse." Then I fire my last arrow, luckily killing it.
I sprinted for the nearest chasm and jumped in, falling for a short time, then landing in water. When I get out of the water I placed a torch and almost wished I hadn't. I saw a giant worm, sleeping on the ebonstone, and one of it's eye's opened, glaring at me. Then I heard it roar.
"Just when I thought the day couldn't get more fun and worse." I said, backing away slightly. I think I just woke the Eater of Worlds.
