Chapters It was a crisp morning in Ponyville. The sun was shining, the air was warm, in the distance you can see a gray mare enjoying a muffin. On one side of the village you could see a colt named Button Mash hurriedly swallowing down a piece of toast while galloping his way towards school.
"Darn, I finally catch Humantai on Ponymon and it was time for school. Such cruel irony." He thought while finishing his toast. On his way he hurried through the morning hustle and bustle of Ponyville. The young colt knew if he was late for school again his mother would take away his video games for sure. When he was only a few feet away from the school the bell began to ring. He galloped as fast as his little hooves could carry him. When he was just up the stairs he did a slow motion jump and with a just barely made it through the doorway in time. "Phew, that was closer than beating the running mares time in The Ocarina of Time." He picked himself up and took his seat.
Waiting for class to begin, he watched he classmates. Near him he could see Peppermint Twist talking with Truffle Shuffle about various types of candy. In the front of the classroom was Sweetie Belle talking with Apple Bloom convincing Apple Bloom to let him join the CMC and blushing every time his name came up. In the back row there's Scootaloo talking with Rumble about flying, but mostly how awesome Rainbow Dash is. Button paid no attention to any of them but sat up straight when Ms. Cherilee walked into the room.
"Alright, settle down class" Cherilee said as the classroom faced forwards and looked ahead. "Before we jump into our lessons on Equestrian history I would like to introduce you all to a new student." Cherilee made a gesture to the door and a small filly no more than Button Mash's age walked. She had a pink coat with a lavender mane and tail with white, swirly highlights. Her cutie mark was a screw with a baseball next to it. She wore a propeller hat similar to Button’s, but it spun on its own. But the feature that really stuck out to everypony was her eyes. The filly’s eyes had swirls of violet and lavender not making up the color, but replacing her irises and pupils. The young foals were… a bit weirded out by her appearance. Button Mash, his head filled with the strange and fantastic characters of his video games, thought nothing of it.
The new girl stepped in front of the class and introduced herself in a smooth, yet chilling voice.
"Hi everypony, my name is Screwball. My mom and i just transferred from Canterlot and my special talent i- "
"Is what?” Interrupted Diamond Tiara “Being the biggest liar in all of Equestria! You're an earth pony! How could you live in Canterlot?"
"Diamond Tiara! That is enough!” Exclaimed Cherilee, indignant at the impoliteness of her student. Diamond continued "And what's with your eyes? Those are the fakest lenses I have ever seen!”
"That is it Diamond, you have earned yourself a detention." Cherilee said. Screwball ignored that and continued. "No, my special talent is being an idea pony! I can amke even the craziest ideas work."
Miss Cherilee looked at Diamond Tiara with a mixture of anger and disappointment, silently promising discipline.
"Alright Screwball, you can sit next to, hmm... Button Mash."
All the fillies looked on with jealous faces, and the colts looked at Button with sly smiles. As Screwball took her seat next to Button Mash, she tried to draw his attention to say hi but all he did was wave and mouth the word "hi " back.
All in all, it was a very normal first day for Screwball. Button just had a regular school day while Screwball got to know everypony. Once the day ended he decided to do his homework near the school because there were too many distractions at home. He overheard some faint crying near the playground and went to see who was so sad. Believe it or not, the despairing pony was Screwball. He slowly approached the sobbing filly.
"Hey, whats wrong?" Button asked.
Screwball wiped her tears and said "Why are ponies so mean to me? All i want is to be everypony's friend, and nopony will even acknowledge me."
Button thought of something that his mom had told him when he was feeling the same way. "Let me tell you something Screwball. You can't expect to be somepony's friend right away. You need to earn their trust and respect first."
Screwball slowly stopped crying, and soon was only sniffling.
"But what about that one girl that made fun of me?"
"Who, Diamond Tiara? Just ignore her, she thinks she can treat anyone like dirt just because her father is rich." Button said, irritated just at the thought of her. "If it makes you feel any better, I'll be your friend." Button said sincerely.
"Really?!" Screwball said surprised
"Of course," Button said.
Button decided to walk his new friend Screwball home, and they stopped at the front entrance.
"I'll see you tomorrow then." Button said as he waved goodbye.
Screwball trotted back to Button Mash and gave him a tight hug filled with something Button couldn't quite understand.
Button wasn’t sure why his cheeks were reddening slightly as he walked home, but he put it out of his mind as his mother greeted him with the usual.
“Anything interesting happen at school today, Button?”
"Well I made friends with the new girl." Button replied.
Meanwhile, at Screwball's house, her mother Screw Loose greeted her daughter with the usual
"RUFF RUFF RUFFF RUFF?"
Screwball knew from experience that this was supposed to mean “How was your day sweetie?”
Screwball yelled in delight "Oh mommy I'm in LOVE!!!"
“RUFF? RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF.” (What? Sweetie, you know how your father feels about puppy love.)
Screwball shot back "Well he isn't here, so I don't care. Can you help me win him over mom, pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssssse?"
“...RUFF RUFF.” (…As long as your father and I approve of him.)
Screwball's joyous shout of one word shook the rafters.
“YAAAAYYYYY!!”

So yeah this is my first fanfic so yeah your opinion is welcome here.
It has been at least a week since Screwball moved to Ponyville. All of the ponies got to know her well enough to actually approach her and say hello. Screwball was still getting settled in her new home and her new school, but she didn't really care because she thanked her young friend and future coltfriend, Button Mash. It was a nice Sunday morning for Screwball, she was in her bathroom brushing her mane as swiftly and promptly as possible.
The pink filly was finished brushing her mane and trotted back into her room. She reached under her bed and drew out a small pink book with her cutie mark on it. She opened it up to a blank page and began writing.
Dear Diary,
Her propeller hat started spinning really fast and started floating in midair. She then flew out of her room and into the kitchen for breakfast. Her mom was enjoying her coffee until her daughter flew in cheering. She started growling and said
"BARK BARK BARK BARK"( Scewball! What did I say about flying in the house?!)
"I can't help it mom I have a possible date with Button Mash!" She said with great amounts of joy.
Screwball then finished her breakfast and departed out the door.
She galloped through the hustle and bustle of the Ponyville market only to be stopped by two fillies that gave her a rough time since day one.
"Hold it right there Swirly." Diamond Tiara shouted as Screwball came to a complete stop.
Diamond Tiara sighed at her stupidity, Silver Spoon has a look of anger saying "I'm sick and tired of your garbage." At the peak of her anger sh yelled.
"Aaaanyway, Silver Spoons right, the reason why that button mashing blank flank doesn't notice is because he's too busy playing on his go-by. Furthermore, you better work faster and step up your game because a little chicken told me that she has her eye on Button Mash too." She concluded, Screwball has a look with shock and confusion. Silver Spoon just had a look of confusion.
Screwball snapped out of her confusion and started galloping twards Sugarcube Corner. By the time she was out of sound distance, Silver Spoon asked " why are you helping her?"
We return to Screwball whose just entering Sugarcube Corner. She frantically searched around for Button Mash hoping hhes not talking with her new compitition. Then she saw him just enjoying a milkshake while playing a game she couldnt identify on his joyboy. She trotted up to him and sat down. She couldnt help but notice how cute he looked when submerged in his JoyBoy. Every muscle in her body screamed to slap the JoyBoy away and kiss himm right in front of everypony. You can practically see the hearts in her eyes. Just then, Button yelled "Wooooooooooooow, well ill see you later Stallionus, you can fight Ridley yourself!" He then turned off the little console and just noticed the lovestruck filly sitting in front of him.
"Oh, Screwball! I didnt see you there." He then took notice of how she was looking at him. "Uuuuuuuuuuhhhh, are you okay?"
"Well uhh, can you keep a secret?" Button Mash whispered
"Oh Button Mash of course!" She yelled to draw attention. But immidietly looked away.
And just like that the tears in her eyes wernt joy anymore they were pure sadness.
"W-What?"
"But, Button I.......I....BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAHHAAAA" Screwball screamed as she ran off leaving a confused Button Mash.
"Wow, fillies i will never understand." Button said dumbfounded.
Screwball ran all the way back home. She didnt even pay attention to her mother trying to ask whats wrong. She went up to her room, jumped on her bed and sobbed herself back to sleep.

It has been at least an entire weekend since Screwball heard the bad news. She had spent the entire two days sobbing her eyes out. In her room she was in the beetle position cuddleing with a picture of Button Mash she secretly took. She couldnt belive that the love of her life is going to ask out Sweetie Belle. Thier date would proboblay go well. Maybe a long walk on the beach, a calm romantic dinner, dancing at the Canterlot Ball, a trip to the moon, or the best of all, him kissing her while they saw the fireworks over the city of Prance.
Anger started to build up in the little filly. The more she thought of Button Mash with Sweetie Belle it just made her sick to the very pit of her stomach. Then she snapped. "UGH Its not fair! He should be asking out ME! Not that squeaky voiced crusader!"
Her anger quickly diminished and started crying again. She stepped over to her bottom drawer and pulled out a small rag doll that her father gave her before he left. "Oh daddy, what should i do? Button Mash likes another filly. I really want him to like me back but i dont know what to do." She gave the doll a hug and fell asleep. What she didnt see is that the rag dolls face no longer had a smiling face that said "hug me". It had a face with pure anger that said "Im going to kill you."
Back in Canterlot thier lies a familliar statue that stands in a rediculous pose. That statue became a father before he was imprisioned. That statue is named Discord, spirit of Chaos and Disharmony.Through the little dolls eyes he saw her crying because of heartbreak. "How dare that little colt make my daughter cry! My poor little Scrwball. If only i can be there to comfort you." Discord said sadly.
Discord may be turned to stone but that doesn't mean that chaos is gone forever. His body may may be complete stone but his mind he is watching his wife and daughter the little dolls eyes. In his mind he is weighing his options, looking into the past for answers. He then sees Screwball on her first day and sees another vision of Button Mash comforting her. Seeing her so happy with him made him do something he hasnt done for over a millenia.
He shed a tear.
"Oh sweetie, im so sorry i couldnt be there for you. I swear ill do anything in my restricted power to get your dream colt." He then looked into the past again and saw a pink filly wearing a tiara saying she liked a filly named Sweetie Belle.
"Ah, she may be the cog that sets the gears into motion. Better put an idea in her head first."
Discord then pulled out a letter and started writing.
Dear little pink tiara filly,
Ive heard about your little problem and i have decided to help you. To win the heart of the one you call Sweetie Belle you must read the instructions below. 1. Team up with the filly named Screwball. 2. Disquise yourself as Sweetie Belle, so when the colt asks you out. Reject him as hard as you can. 3. Have Screwball desquise as the colt, so when Sweetie Belle asks him out, she will reject him. 4. Once they are both heartbroken thats when you two step in and make them all yours.
Sincerely, Discord He folded up the letter into a paper airplane and threw it. Is soon faded away. "Good, thats one problem. Now, how do i get out of here."
Back in ponyville, Diamond Tiara was sound asleep in her bed dreaming about being ruler of the world. As she was sleeping, a paper airplane flew through her window. It flew to her face and faded into magic dust. She started tossing and turning and woke up saying "Thats actually a good zany idea." She pulled out a small picture of Sweetie Belle under her pillow and said " Dont worry Sweetie Belle, by the end of this week your gonna be all mine" she said with a devious smile.

Screwball came to school with a look of happiness, but her eyes said otherwise. She was glad to be Button's friend, but thinking about him and Sweetie Belle just hugging and kissing each other just starts a fire in her heart. The simple thought of not being with Button hurt her the most. She went to say her daily good mornings to everypony.
"Good Morning Snips, good morning Snails, good morning Peachy Pie, good morning Twist, good morning Scootaloo, good morning Rumble, good morning weird painting that looks suspiciously like my dad." Screwball stopped and looked back only to see a blank wall. "That was weird." She stated continuing her trot down the hallway. But she was halted by two little earth ponies.
"Stop right there, Swirly!" Shouted Daimond Tiara. Screwball really didnt want to hear it right now. So in order to shut her up, she replied.
"What do you two want now. I already lost the love of my life, are you two here to kick me while I'm down?" Asked Screwball.
Diamond Tiara blinked and said "Nothing of the sorts Swirly, we're here to provide you a...proposition." She said.
"What kind of proposition?" Screwball asked, not liking the way she said it.
"What do you say when I have a plan that I geniously thought of ALL by myself that lets you have Button Mash as your special sompony by the end of this week?" Said Diamond Tiara
Screwballs curiosity peaked "I would say I'm all ears."
"Good, meet us in the fillies bathroom by lunchtime." Said Diamond with a smile hinting mischief.
Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon and Screwball went inside the fillys bathroom. Silver Spoon was carrying a box of makeup and a few cans of paint. Once they were inside, they started discussing the plan.
"Alright girls I call this "Opperation Thunder Tiara" explained Diamond Tiara.
"Why did you name it that?" Asked Screwball.
"Because do you want Button Mash or not that's why." Diamond Tiara said with a calm and sarcastic tone.
Screwball just went scilent and just kept on listening.
Once she was done explaining the planThe bell rung for class to begin. Silver Spoon ran out of the bathroom so the plan can take up. Diamond Tiara and Screwball started to paint each other from the face down.
Button Mash and Sweetie Belle were looking at each other from across the classroom with blushing smiles. Button was a holding little note with a heart on the front. He was innerly encouraging himself to get up, give the note to her and just sit back down and prey to Celestia for her to say yes.
Sweetie Belle just silently stared at Button while he was taking notes of Ms. Cheerlee's lesson. Silver Spoon was sitting behind Sweetie Belle trying to think of a way to get her out of the school. She began to grow a little frustrated hearing Apple Bloom and Scootaloo conversing about the next CMC meeting. She then had an idea, she took out a sheet of paper and wrote something on it. She then tapped Sweetie Belle on the back and gave her he note.
Sweetie Belle opened the note and read it.
"Meet us in the janitors closet.We'll be there in ten minutes." Said the note.
Sweetie Belle then asked Ms.Cheerlee to be excused. She happily excused her. Sweetie Belle then trotted out of the room.
As she was already halfway down the hallway.Once she passed the fillys bathroom, a swirly eye poked out of the doorway.
"Alright the coast is clear, you ready?" Asked ScrewBall.
"Swirly, I was born ready." Said Diamond Tiara nonchlantly, now disguised as Sweetie Belle. Diamond Tiara then sneaked out of the fillys bathroom and into the classroom.
"Oh, Sweetie Belle your just in time for recess! Alright My Little Ponies lets have some Fun In Minutes!" Said Cheerlee.
All the little fillies and colts galloped their way outside to the nearest set of swings, seesaws or game. Button Mash set his sights on the discuised Diamond Tiara. He began a nervous trot to her, starting to convince himself not to do it,but his head said otherwise.
"Come on Button, play it cool.You can do it!" He said as he was now standing in front of the discuised Diamond Tiara.
"Uh...H-hey Sweetie Belle, how's it g-going." Button said nervously.
Diamond Tiara raised her hoof and turned around. She pulled out an inhaler filled with helium and inhaled a few puffs. She turned back around and said in her best impression of Sweetie Belle.
"Uh not much."
Button Mash gulped and drew out the note from earlier. "Well, I uh wrote this for you." He said while handing it to her. She opened it and to her surprise it was a poem.
Waiting for that faithful day,
when I can hold your hoof and say,
my one and only love is you,
I know this love of mine is true,
to this only pony you mean in the world,
you make my stomach do twists and twirls,
I'll always have a love for you,
no matter what situation going through,
no matter good or bad, nor right or wrong,
my love for you will always stay strong.
you mean so much to this one colt,
i want to give you all I can,
I hope one day you feel this way,
for I am yours and here to stay.
-Will you go to Sugarcube Corner with me?
Diamond Tiara was so taken aback. This was the most romantic poem she had ever read and it was coming from a colt that was failing English class. She was very close to saying yes while hugging him, but she remembered who she was and what she actually discovered was how much of a competition he was. If Sweetie Belle saw this, hay, if any filly or mare saw this, they would of said yes in a heartbeat.
"So uh, what do you say?" Button Said with a hint of nervousness in his voice.
"No" She said sternly.
"What? But why?" He said on the verge of tears.
"Because, why would I date such a lower class blank flank like yourself. Now shut up and get away from me you button mashing CREEP!"
Just the pain of being rejected was enough to send him crying all the way back to the schoolhouse.
Diamond Tiara smiled at how well that went.
"And the little Blank Flank cried wee, wee, wee all the way home.
Diamond Tiara went back to the fillys room to wash all of her makeup off. She kind of felt bad for Button Mash, making him cry like that. But it was for the sake of her future with Sweetie Belle.
As she went through the door she could of sworn she saw a colt in the fillies room. As the colt came out of the stall, she realized it was Screwball disguised as Button Mash.
"You know, its kind of uncanny how much you look like him right now." Diamond said as she inspected her look.
"I dont know Diamond Tiara, I love Button Mash but I never meant to hurt him. Maybe we should call this off." Said an unsure Screwball. Diamond looked at her with a look that had said 'you got to be kidding me'.
"You got to be kidding me! I already sent that poo-colored colt crying. Its too late now, get your pink flank back in the classroom and pose as your boyfriend. Or so help me Celestia I will go to Button Mash and tell him your feelings for him in the most humiliating way possible!"
Screwball was stuck between a rock and a hard place. She could either call it off an risk being hated by Button, or she can go through with Diamond's plan, and live a lie. Either way, its not in her favor.
"Oh alright, just to let you know, if this doesn't work. My dad may not be as rich as yours-"
"Thats for darn sure!" Interrupted Diamond Tiara.
"But he is more powerful than yours will ever be." Screwball said with the smallest hint of an evil smile. Sending a shudder down Diamonds and Silver's backs as she left the filly's bathroom.
"What did she mean by that DT?" Said a frightened Silver Spoon.
"I don't know SP, but I think it's best we don't question her." Diamond Tiara then looked at Silver Spoon and asked "Why are you still standing here!?Get yourself out there and make sure that poo-colored colt is away from the classroom!" She practically yelled as Silver Spoon galloped out of there.
Silver Spoon then made it back to the classroom where she then saw Sweetie Belle stareing dreamily at Button Mash while he was staring down in his own self pity. Silver Spoon had the perfect way of keeping him busy. She then trotted up to him and asked "Hey there Button Mash, how you feeling?" She said as sincerely as possible without giggling at how pathetic he looked right now.
"What do you want? Can't you see i'm wallowing in self pity here." He said, voice sounding very sour and negative.
"I just came to ask you........" she tried to come up with a video game related question but remembered one thing he bragged about a week ago. "How do I make my Humanta evolve to a Rapiman in Ponymon Leafgreen?"
This single question brought his spirits back up just a little bit. He didn't take Silver Spoon as a pony who played Ponymon, or any videogame for that matter. But he was always there, to help somepony who needed help on a video game.
“Alright, ill show you but my JoyBoy is in my locker. You will have to wait until after cla-”
RRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGG
The final bell interrupted him. Miss Cheerilee then dismissed as all the little fillies and colts galloped out of the front door.
“Well then you’re in luck.” said a still sad Button Mash.
The silver maned filly and the brownie-brown colored colt, both trotted to his locker. As they both trotted down the hall, Silver Spoon quickly knocked on the fillies bathroom door. as soon as the two were out of sight, Screwball, now disguised as Button Mash snuck out to meet Sweetie Bell at the scheduled location.
Sweetie Bell got out of the janitors closet with the most adorable scrunched up face. After being out of class half the day and getting yelled at the janitor, how can she not be grumpy? She even missed out on asking out her crush. ‘Maybe tomorrow’ she thought. But then she saw Button Mash trotting right towards her. A million thoughts rushed through the little unicorns head.
‘Is my mane okay? Does my breath smell? Does he even like me back? He’s been hanging out with that new girl a lot. Is she his………...marefriend?' All these thoughts and more were running through her head and more as she then tried to talk to the colt.
"Uh, he-hi Button, how is your family doing?" Sweetie asked, trying to start a conversation.
Screwball then turned around and pushed two plugs up her nose and then she could sound like Button. As she turned around, she started imitate Button's voice.
"Yeah, I've been spending a lot of time with my BEST friend Screwball. She's so amazing, smart, beautiful AND has her Cutie Mark." Screwball says with a high and mighty tone. Which kind of hurt Sweetie Belle a little bit. She didnt have much time since her parents were waiting outside for her, so she just got to the point."
"So yeah, um... I was wondering, if you like to go on a date with me? You see, I've kind of liked you for a while now and I was just wondering if you wanted to... I just sound repetitive right now dont I. He he." She asked nervously.
Screwball processed this in her brain. Sweetie gave the most adorable, sweet and possibly stroke-giving smile she had ever seen. No wonder some colts call her AdoraBell. Also the rumors were true, she was a walking dictionary. After a moments worth of processing, she came up with a perfect reply.
"No sale, Sweetheart. This heart belongs to another filly, and that filly is Screwball. She is the peanut butter to my jelly, the butterflies I feel in my belly, she was the chills that I felt on our first date. She's the apple to my pie, she's the straw to my berry, AND she's the one I wanna marry."
After that little song she sang, while daydreaming about Button Mash. She heard a high pitched cry and a trail of tears following. Followed by Sweetie Belle galloping down the hallway.
"What does he see in you" She whispered. Followed by a tang of guilt. SHe then heard a whisper saying.
'good job my daughter. Good job.'

As all the little fillies and colts once again galloped off home as the school day ended, Button Mash was just sadly dragging himself across the ground. The filly that he liked didn't like him back. Especially when he traded all of his cheat codes for Super Mareio Galaxy to Pipsqueak to write that poem for him. He wasn't looking where he was going and accidentally bumped into something.
“Sorry I. Oh hey Screwball. I haven't talked to you in days where were you?” He asked.
“Just feeling upset that you like somepony else and not me. No big deal.” Screwball said in her mind.
“Oh, nowhere, just been around.” Screwball lied. “How did it go with Sweetie Belle?” Asked Screwball. Personally she couldn't care less because she knew how that went along.
As she thought to herself, she didn't notice Button trying , but failing to hold in his tears, and just like that. The dams burst.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.” cried Button. “It was (sniff) so horrible Screwball. Sweetie Belle (sniff) called me all kinds of names when I gave her my poem. She-she called me creepy, she called me wimpy, and worst of all (sniff) she called me a….a…..A BLANK FLAAAAAAAAANK!” Button Mash wailed. He hugged Screwball while crying. Screwball couldn't feel any happier and yet, feel any more terrible at the same time.
She felt so happy that she imagined her and Button kissing right in that spot, their first date, fighting a dragon, Button proposing to her, their wedding day, their foals first steps, Button finding out what happened, their divorce, leaving her in the dust.
“NO, the damage is done. Button will forget about Sweetie Belle and he and I will be together!”
After Screwball snapped back into reality, she remembered Button was crying. Sne needed to cheer him up.
“Hey, Buddy.” She said in a motherly tone. “How about we go to your house and play some video games? Would you like that?”
“Yeah, I guess so, I gotta let my mom know that you're coming.” Said Button Mash as he stopped crying.
The two earth ponies then made it to Button Mash’s house. As they walked through the front door, Button Mash was greeted by his mother.
“Hey, Button how was scho-” Button’s Mom then noticed Screwball. “Button who's this?” She asked. Not liking the idea that he brought a filly home. “Oh uh, this is my friend Screwball. She wanted to come over and play video games. Is that alright?” He asked with the tiniest hint of sadness in his voice.
“Oh of course, honey bunny. Just go upstairs and straighten up your room a little bit.” She said. As Button made his way upstairs, Screwball was left alone with Buttons Mom. Buttons Mom looked at her with a stare that pierced her very soul. "I know where you live." She said with with a level of seriousness that could rival Princess Celestia herself. Screwball translated these five words to mean "try anything wih him and i'll destroy you."
"You can go upstairs now, I'm pretty sure he's done." Says Buttons Mom, still maintaining her deep and soul piercing stare. Screwball gallopped up the stairs with lightning speed. At the top of the stairs, she was greeted with Button Mash in his room inserting a disk into his Neightendo Wiiney. Screwball didn't know much about games in general, but she was willing to learn about it. Button handed her a controller and they began playing.
After a whole hour, Screwball won Fifty-Three to Zero. She was happy to get the hang of it quick, but the whole reason why was because Button was barely mashing the buttons. She felt very concerned for him and so she asked away.
"How you feelin' Button?" She asked sencerely.
"It's just that, why do you think she called me a blank flank? She dosent have a Cutie Mark either." He said while lightly tapping the 2 button on his controller.
"Well, you know those high class types, they're always so uptight and so snobby, thinking that earth ponies their slaves." Screwball said with deep annoyance.
"Hey Screwball. I kind of see why Sweetie Belle, didn't like me. Look at me. I'm eight years old, my voice is really nasaly for some reason, I get drunk off of apple juice, and I still wear this hat." Button said on the verge of tears.
"Button don't be- apple juice? Really?Anyway, don't put yourself down like that. She may see that, but you know what I see. I see a colt that is confident, strong willed, courageous and very handsome." At that last complement, Button looked up at Screwball with a blushing face. Screwball put her front hooves on Buttons scholders and continued.
"If Sweetie Belle can't see that, she doesn't deserve you! You need a fillyfriend that lo-likes you for who you are and not one who only leads you on!" Screwball said with a blushing face of her own.
"Screwball? What are you really saying?" Button said with an idea with what she's talking about.
"Button. What im saying is I-I-I...UGH!" She hollerd. She then pulled Button Mash in for a kiss.

If this were a Sitcom, I could hear the audience going "Wooooooooo". Anyways I apologise for not posting as frequently, some things in my life ae catching up.
The young ponies just sat there, one locking lips with the other. Surprisingly, Screwball was in absolute bliss and at the same time, incredibly guilty. . Screwball then forced herself to break the kiss. Her face usually a type of pink now a deep shade of crimson.
”Button, although I've known you for a short time I want you to know I….I…..I-I love you! I always have! I was so sad hearing that you like Sweetie Belle instead of me! I-I I just couldn't handle it! Im not asking to be my special somepony right away, i'm just asking for one thing, a chance.” Button Mash on the other hand was having conflicted emotions.”
‘She’s my friend’ He thought. ‘Why is she kissing me? Why is her beanie hat spinning automatically? Well, I guess I shouldn't talk. Has her eyes always looked this pretty?’ The last thought made him think. Even though he has known her a couple of weeks, he really saw her as a friend………………………………………………………………………………...and that was it.
Button Mash then let out a disappointed sigh and looked at Screwball with a look of seriousness. He found it very selfish of her to confess to him after he was just rejected, but since she was his friend, he will make this as painless as possible.
“Screwball, why did you have to do that? Im so sorry for what i'm about to say.” Button felt horrible for what he was about to do. “No Screwball, No to anything you're thinking, no to the buts, no to your what if's, no, no, NO, NO!!!!” Of course this was the first time Button Mash ever rejected somepony, so he didn't know what tone of voice to use. But it was too late, the damage was done.
“But you're the only pony that never made fun of me, the only colt that never called me ugly, pulled my hair, kicked me in the face or abandoned me.” Screwball tearfully declared. Just like that, Button felt like trash. But was about to feel like the scum of the earth for what he is about to say.
“I still like Sweetie Belle, Screwball. Im sorry.” Button sadfully declared. Screwball was already heartbroken the second he said no. She bolted out of his room without a second thought. As she made her way downstairs, she was halted by Button’s Mom. “Listen kid, Im sorry about my son, he worked so hard to get that Sweetie Bell girl to like him, he’s having some problems dealing with rejection. I had no idea that she could be so cruel and shallow. But anyway, take it easy kid, Go head on home, I need to have a word to my son.” Hearing this gave Screwball some relief that somepony knew how it was. But hearing her and Diamond Tiaras little operation gave her a bad reputation made her feel guilty. She exited without a second thought.
But what Screwball didn’t see as she was exiting the Mash residence was a Draconequus posing in the Mash’s family photo where the dad used to be. The eyes and ears seeing and hearing everything with an angry look on his face. “Well, well, well Mrs. Mash, It seems I too need to have a word with your little colt.” Discord said with a cold and angry tone.

Yes, I know this chapter wasnt very good. I had my eye on the ACTs for a while and it was a bitch even though I did good. Its nice to escape from real life for a little bit and just fall back into your hobbies. But enough about my sob stories. Go ahead and point out any flaws or mistakes.

Chapter 7: Part 2 (Update in Authors Notes!!)
These were dark times in Hyquestria. All the Earth, Pegasi, and Unicorns were enslaved, The Gryphons of Decease Mountains food supply was cut off, The Zeehorses Domain was completely frozen, The Great Realm Tree was dead. It looked like that there was no hope.
But then, The great Button Mash appeared out of the sunset riding his majestic human named Link. As he made it to Sombra’s tower he has this feeling of confidence he never had in his normal life. “Go Link! I must save the fair Princess AdoraBelle before Sombra steals the HorseShoe of Wizdom!” Button Mash made it to the entrance. He fought his way all the way to the very top of the tower. There he saw Princess Adorabelle trapped in a crystal.
“Princess Adorabelle!” he shouted. He then drew his sword to attempt to free her, making small cracks each time he hit it, as he was about to deliver the final blow he heard a mildly sarcastic chuckle.”
“Oh Button Mash, even in your dreams you can't stop playing.” Button turned around in full battle stance but saw nopony behind him. He then jumped in fear as he saw a second crystal appear next to Princess Adorabelle’s. That second Crystal contained his only filly friend in real life, Screwball. This second crystal had the same amount of cracks as the first one does, just one more hit on either of them and that one is free.
“Go ahead Masher. Save the one you have feelings for. The filly who thinks very badly about you, or the filly that actually made an effort to get you to like her back. Its your choice.” Said the voice with no speaker. Button mash started to panic but couldn’t make his choice, he then decided to place a bomb to save both of them. Before the bomb went off, the fuse was blown out. Button felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and greeted with the head of a pony with antlers of deer and goat. Button Mash knows this creature, the creature that made Ponyville look like a bad 'Wheres Waldo?' picture a few months back.
“Oh Button Mash you were right all along about these types of games being fun.” Button opened his eyes he was in a dark room with a evil aura surrounding it. He was scared out of his mind when he saw a Neightendo 64 controller in his hands. He then started press random buttons, and at the same time, he started moving around rapidly.
"DANCE YOU LITTLE PUPPET DANCE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Shouted Discord. After a few more steps and some painful falls Discord pushed pause. A large PAUSE floated above Button. He was frozen in place
"Alright boy I've had my laugh now lets get down to buisness." Said Discord trying to be serious after a hardy laugh.
"P-p-p-please don't hurt me, I have so much to do in life, so many games to play." Pleaded Button Mash.
"Heeey kid I'm not goanna hurt you. I'm here to talk to you. Not Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony to colt, but you know, Stallion to stallion." Discord said sincerely. Trying his best to hold in his anger and hatred for this little colt. Buttons fear subsided and decided to hear him out. Discord then turned the controller into a portrait of Screwball.
"This little filly seems highly interested in you, and yet you won't even give her the time of day. Do you have any idea what that does to a ponys self esteem? Oh of course you dont because you spend all your time playing games with a filly thats 'Just not that into you.'" Discord then looked at the camera and did an open mouth smile holding two thumbs up. "
"Anywho, you better get your bearings together because tomorrow morning, you're going to Screwballs house and going to ask her out on a date to win her back and become special somponies." Discord expained.
"Wait, why are you asking me to do this?" Asked Button Mash. Discord then giggled sheepishly. "Oh, Button Mash I'm not asking you silly. I'm commanding you." Discord then zoomed in on Buttons face. Discords eyes filled with anger. "If you don't convince me that Screwball is happy, so help me Celestia I will break out of my stone body, teleport straight to Ponyville, turn all of your family and friends into various assortments of food, then send them to the starving citizens of Girafrica. When that is done, I will unleash so much chaos upon you that not even the Elements of Harmony THEMSELVES will help you. Get the picture?" He said through gritted teeth.
Button Mash then nodded in agreement, attempting to hold back tears of fear.. As Discord began to fade into the darkness he then had one more question. "Wait a second! Why are you so worried about me and Screwball?" He inquired. Discord then gave an unamused look to Button. He then shut his eyes and said "A father worries about her child, kid."
"Oh, okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-WAIT WHAT!?"
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNG
Button Mash woke up from a terrible dream. He didn't know if it was real or not, but he knew what to do. He had to ask out Screwball

Sweetie Belle was inside her room, lying on her bed crying her tiny heart out. Sweetie Belle couldn’t believe it. The only colt that didn't call her any names, pulled her hair, get her in trouble, or called her that stupid nickname ‘Adorabelle’. He was the only colt that reached out to her to call her a friend. She even invited him over once for milkshakes at Sugarcube Corner once. But it didn't last long because they got kicked out due to him shouting too loudly about his brainfreeze. But in the end he made it up to her by letting her join his Minecraft team. Things were going very well until last years Hearts n Hooves Day.
Flashback
Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo exchanging their cards to all of their friends among the classroom. Also even receiving from the class. Applebloom was twitching from the sugar rush she got from all the chocolate she received. Scootaloo was having a huge fit over how she got very sweet cards from all the colts (and one filly) and not getting a shred of chocolate. But Sweetie Belle was sitting quietly moping at her desk. She had no cards or chocolate on her desk like her fellow CMC. She then looked around, there was Truffle Shuffle giving Peppermint Twist a candy cane in the shape of a heart, Rumble getting yelled at by Scootaloo over no chocolate, Diamond Tiara staring closely at her holding a very expensive looking card with eleven roses and one fake one. Cheerilee was even blushing over an apple pie in the shape of a heart. You didn't need an education to know who sent that to her.
But then along came Button Mash, moving slowly to her holding a simple hoof-made card in his mouth and a determined look in his eye.
“H-hey Shweetie Belle whatcha doin?” He said still a little nervous.
“Oh nothing, just trying to find a Cutie Mark like always.” Sweetie replied in almost a depressed tone.
“Well okay, I’ll juss leave tis wit you.” He placed the card on her desk and left back to his own desk. Sweetie raised her head and saw the card he had made for her. It was a simple card with a simple drawing of a heart with a microphone wrapped around it. Below the picture, there was a caption that said ‘This is what I think your Cutie Mark would be. Because you have a pretty voice and a face to match.’, and just like that Sweeties face was redder than Appleblooms mane. The young unicorn was so happy that she didn't notice Diamond Tiara staring at Button with an ‘If looks could kill’ stare.
Present
Sweetie dried her tears and decided to go on her Minecraft account and see if she could find some more glowstone. As she controlled her avatar to walk across the grassy mountains, but as she did this, she remembered that if it weren't for Button Mash, she wouldn't have ANY of the items she has now. Mostly because she took them when he died around her. But she knew how he always died protecting her from all of the evil monsters. She knew that almost everypony will protect her in real life, but nopony cared in the video game world. But Button cared, he was the person who treated her like a princess, and he was the hero who jumps over a dragon-turtle to save her. But then, Screwball comes out and yells “HI I’M SCREWBALL!!!” and takes her hero away. Then the small mushroom creature emerges from nowhere and says “Sorry Princess, but your hero is in a new castle.”, the creature then gives her the finger and walks away.
Her fantasy ended when she heard her mother call her from downstairs.
“Sweetie Belle! You have a visitor!”
“If it’s Applebloom and Scootaloo tell them that I don't wanna talk.” Answered Sweetie.
“No, its your other friend from school, Diamond Tiara.”
Sweetie was in no mood to talk to anyone, especially to her schoolyard bully. But before she could tell her to go away. Diamond Tiara gave Sweetie Belle an unexpected hug. One that gave her a feeling that she was safe with her, even if she was always mean to her. The hug lasted about two whole minutes until she let go.
“Before you tell me to leave, I just want you to know that I heard what happened to you with Button and if you ever wanna talk, my door is always open. I’ll show myself out.” Diamond made slowly made her way out the front door.
Sweetie was at a loss for words. Diamond Tiara, the pony who drove her and her friends crazy with her constant bullying. Had just offered her emotional support, no strings attached. She felt a little better, but was still skeptical about the whole ordeal. Maybe she will talk to her.
Meanwhile
Button Mash was getting ready to go apologize to Screwball and maybe start over. Be was combing his mane and tail, brushing his teeth, putting on his horseshoes and waiting for an “L” block to appear. But as all this happened, he was thinking about what Discord said in dream.
“A father worries about her child kid.”
Those words kept playing in his head over and over again. He really hopes they don’t mean what they think they mean. Because if they are, he just broke the heart of the daughter of THE strongest being in Equestria. He knows for a fact that he couldn’t do a thing to stop him if he does what he threatened to do, so he had no choice but to give in to his demands.
As he finished his business in the bathroom, he then galloped outside outside only to trip on something on his front step. He turned around to see that it was a picnic basket chopped full of various foods. On top of the basket held a note, Button picked it up and began to read it.

His fears have come true.
The next morning, Dimond Tiara was writing down her the plan she recived in her dream. She was so taken with this plan that she hand no choice but to congragulate him.
"I gotta hand it to that Discord fellow, he sure is one clever Spirit of Chaos."
She was then called down by her mother to head to school.
"Diamond Tiara darling! Time for school" she said.
"Alright mother! Just let me get ready!" She replied. She then folded the piece of paper and tucked in her saddlebag. She was about to gallop downsairs but she forgot to do one thing. She walked back to her bed and pulled out her picture of Sweetie Belle. "That blank flank doesn't deserve you. He will just ignore you and just mash away at his little toy. You may be a blank flank too but .......................your MY blank flank." She then gave the picture a small peck before putting it back.
-Back in Ponyville
Screwball was a complete wreck. Her face is stained with dried tears, her mane and tail were left unkept for days, her mouth was stained with dried ice cream. She had locked herself in her room ever since she heard the news.
Since it was time for school, she had no choice but to face the one that got away. She got up from her bed and turned off her phonograph playing 'All by Myself'. She went to her bathroom and took a good look in the mirror. She washed her face and brushed her hair. She took another good look in the mirrior and came to a wrong realization.
"No wonder Button Mash, likes Sweetie Belle better, I'm just a swirly eyed Freakshow whose probably better off in the circus." She started to fight back tears. She then put on her propeller cap and slowly trotted out of her room.
Screw Loose was enjoying her morning coffee, she was enjoying it but she noticed something. She noticed that Screwball hasn't abruptly floated downstairs like she usually did, instead she was walking downstairs like a normal pony. It is her talent for being crazy, it is her cutie mark after all. Screw Loose wimpered and gave her daughter a hug.
"RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF"(It didnt go so well with Button did it sweetie?) Barked Screw Loose.
"No, it turns out that he likes another filly and he asked me if I could help him out." Whimpered Screwball. Screw Loose took a few minutes to think about it and she finally had an answer.
"RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF"(Well you may not be his fillyfriend but your his actual friend. Thats something no other filly can beat you too.) Screw Loose said sincerly.
Screwball had a moment of realization. She wasnt trying hard enough. She just had to keep on being his friend and hope for a relationship in the future. "You know what mom, you're right! I should be the best friend I can be and maybe when the time is right he will be with me! Thank you sooooooooo much mom! I love you." She then galloped off to school.
"RUFF RUFF RUFF"(Just like me and her father.) She said with great fondness.
-At Button Mash's House
Button Mash was getting ready for school but he was doing something different from his routine. He was in the bathroom for a good twenty minutes brushing his teeth, combing his mane, and trying to beat the Gurack from entering the castle. Once he finished, he then set down the comb, turned off the sink and turned off his WIInney. He exited the bathroom and made a promise to himself.
"All right, todays the day. Today...... I finally ask out Sweetie Belle!" Button practically yelled. He then covered his mouth hoping that nopony herd. Button put on his propeller hat and happily trotted down the stairs. Where his mother was getting ready for work.
"Button honey. Are you ready to go?" Asked Button's mom.
"Yeah mom I'm ready" he said determined.
He then trotted down the streets with his mom. Once he approached the school, he said goodbye for the day.
"Bye mom, ill see you at home." Said Button
"Bye son and good luck with asking her out." She whispered in her ear.
Button Mash gulped and then made his way inside. Not knowing about the storm thats brewing.
