Life Goes On
Chapter 2
Previous ChapterTumbling in dark space gets boring after 30 seconds. Moviestar thought they had probably been tumbling for 30 minutes.
Starry had stopped screaming after the first minute or two. The thing is, when you don't land at the bottom of the pit in the first ten seconds, it gets boring. Moviestar flipped over in midair, not really caring if they landed right then when she flipped. She flipped again.
Earlier, she had considered flying out. But she had quickly vetoed the idea. You didn't need to be a genius to figure out that if she opened her wings, at the speed they were falling, her wings would be ripped to shreds. Apparently, Starry had thought of the same thing, because she hadn't tried. Or she was just too scared to think straight.
Suddenly, Moviestar saw a white light, and as they continued to tumble down, the circle of light grew larger. They were headed straight toward it! Moviestar began to panic. When they landed on the bottom, they would be nothing but grease spots in the center of the Earth.
Moviestar tried to open her wings, but it was as if they were glued to her sides. She couldn't open them! A look at the expression of pure terror on Starry's face told her that the other Pegasus had the same problem. And Moviestar suspected neither Lovelight or Dawn Sky could use magic to get them out of this. And they continued toward the light.
As soon as the blue Pegasus began to give up hope, a dark blue aura surrounded her and her five other friends. They stopped in midair, and the aura slowly began to tug them down to the bottom of the pit. A unicorn was helping them!
It wasn't Lovelight or Dawn Sky. The expressions on their faces led her to believe that the two unicorns had no idea what was going on. Another look told her that neither of the earth ponies knew either. The aura continued to pull them down.
As they reached the ground, Moviestar saw that a dark blue alicorn was the cause of the magic. Her horn was glowing as the blue magic finally disappeared and the six ponies tumbled the two remaining feet to the ground. The blue eyes of the alicorn told her it had been some effort to levitate them.
Toxic was the first to speak. As he stood up, he glanced at the alicorn and gasped "Princess Luna!" The other five gasped in surprise as they realized that that was indeed, Princess Luna. They all bowed down before her, in awe.
But one continued to stand. Pink Jam glared angrily at the princess. When Luna saw this, she bowed her head. " You have every right to be angry at me. I have been gone for the past years, and many ponies believe I am a coward to desert Equestria after my sister's death. I am a coward." She sighed and looked up. "I was the one who has brought you all here. As many of you are probably upset and are about to demand explanations," She added as Dawn Sky opened her mouth, only to shut it with embarrassment." I will tell you why you are here. Discord is on the loose. He is upset, and is now causing chaos. I fear going near him, as the coward I am. I need you to go and stop him"
"Why us?" questioned Lovelight. Luna nodded and said "Once Discord is stopped, he will tell you. He is not the only thing to be stopped."
"How are we going to get out of here?" Starry Flight asked. Moviestar had been wondering the same thing. "Don't we need to be near Discord to defeat him, right?" She looked questioningly at the night princess.
Luna only nodded. "I will teleport you out of here as soon as you here this." The six ponies leaned toward the dark blue alicorn as she opened her mouth to tell them the next thing. "You will probably not need them, because Discord will listen to good reason, but the Elements of Harmony are located in the Everfree forest, connected to the tree of Harmony. Whether or not they need to be used on Discord, you will need to retrieve them anyway. A map to the Tree of Harmony is located in the Golden Oaks Library."
"Why will we need the Elements of Harmony?" the ponies asked. But Luna only told them that Discord will tell them. Moviestar wasn't sure, though.
"Are you ready to go?" all the ponies nodded, and Luna's horn began to glow a dark blue, and they found themselves once more surrounded by the aura. Moviestar barely had time to think before she was tumbling heads over hooves in darkness.
Then she appeared in Ponyville. Houses were upside down, and the ground was patterned with pink and purple squares. A couple of oxen in tutus danced past her as flying pigs snorted beside her. As it began to rain chocolate milk from the strange pink clouds overhead, a voice called out, "Oh boy, it looks as if Luna sent me some company!"
