Everything was just a bright light. There were just six ponies lying on the ground. Some of them woke up from whatever they were dreaming.
“Where am I,” said one voice as it tries to get up. “Twilight, you’re finally awake! I was so worried about you that you weren't waking up,” Said another but energetic voice.
“Pinkie Pie, Is that you?” Said Twilight. She was trying to figure out what was going on, and look around her surroundings. It was just mostly flat, except with some mountains in one spot and a coastline in another place.
“Of course it’s me, silly. Plus our friends and Spike somehow came along with us too,” Said Pinkie. Twilight then sees every pony looking at her.
“Darling can you tell us where we are? This dirt is quite... dirty,” Said Rarity.
“This place doesn't look anything like home, or that we’re even in Equestria,” Said Twilight.
“Girls, I found something,” Said a soft, shy voice.
“This place is flat like nothing is here! And there’s only that weird black thing sticking out of that large black thing for some reason,” Said Rainbow Dash.
“Girls,” Said the soft voice again, but slightly louder.
“Rainbow, I’m sure it’s just some sort of broken off trail. I can see some moving things on the main trail,” Said Twilight.
“This place looks soo perfect for a giant, all night party,” Said Pinkie.
“Girls,” Said the voice, but a bit more loudly.
“We aren’t getting nowhere with this arguing goin’ on,” Said Applejack.
“We are not arguing! We are just complaining about where are we,” Said Rainbow.
As the arguing kept going on, the shy voice didn’t have gotten so quiet anymore...
“GIRLS,” Said Fluttershy, along with starling her friends.
“What is it Fluttershy? You didn’t have to yell that loudly,” said Twilight.
“It’s that, I found some books over there, and I thought you could read them... if that’s okay with you,” Said Fluttershy.
“Books, that’s more than okay, it’s perfect! Maybe we can find out where we are by looking in these books,” Said Twilight in a very happy tune.
She ran toward the direction to where Fluttershy pointed to and she discovers two books lying on the ground, but also something else, something like glasses.
“Interesting, what are the titles of these books,” Said Twilight. She finds that one of the titles is called ‘A Noob’s guide to SimCity’ and the other book called ‘Welcome to Lancaster Pointe.’ “What interesting titles, but what does ‘noob’ mean anyway,” Said Twilight. Both ways, she tells the others and Twilight starts reading the books.
“Girls, take a look of this book. It’s like an encyclopedia about this world,” Said Twilight.
“Come on egghead, just read the book and tell us where we are,” Said Rainbow Dash.
Fine I’ll read it, Rainbow, I’m just looking at the table of contents,” Said Twilight. Rainbow makes a facehoof by hearing that. “Ok. I’m done looking at it. I’ll begin reading.”
Hello, Welcome to Simcity, the place where you build your own cities and play with friends. First of all, if you’re reading this, that means you’re inside the game, literally. To get things started: Stop freaking out already if you’re doing so. Stay calm and follow what this book says.
“Wait, were stuck in some weird game! What kind of game is this,” Said Rainbow Dash.
“It’s called SimCity, silly Dashie,” Said Pinkie Pie.
“Be quiet you two, I’m reading,” Said Twilight.
First of all, since your ponies, I’ve changed the game a little bit, so that the Sims here looks like ponies, and you’ll understand what they say, or what you say. You’re in a game that you know nothing about anyway. We don’t want explaining everything except the game and important facts, not the little people that comes with it.
“What? How do they know we’re ponies? What’s a Sim? I need to figure these out,” said Twilight.
Since you’re inside a game, you can’t control it by its buttons, but the good thing is there are special glasses that will help click the buttons without a computer or mouse. (Don’t ask what a computer or mouse it, just roll with it.)
“Special glasses, I don’t see any glasses,” Said Twilight.
*Note, glasses is in the back of the book, all cities have one so others can play as well.*
“That makes perfect sense,” Twilight flips to the back of the book to find some interesting glasses. She takes them out and puts them on. Then she sees the buttons and other things in a holographic projection, which blows her mind.
“This is amazing! Everything here looks like some sort of complicated game,” Said Twilight.
“Because it is Twilight, the book already said so silly,” Said Pinkie. Twilight then continues reading.
The first of everything to build a city is to connect a road to the highway, so the Sim/Ponies can leave or enter the city. Click the button that says ‘roads’ on the holographic projection to see what roads are in store for you.
Twilight finds the button and clicks on it, revealing seven different kinds of what seems to be trails, but rather than being called that, it’s called roads.
“That’s interesting; I can use these to connect the so called highway. I think I can use this big road that looks like the highway to connect to it,” said Twilight.
She then clicks on the avenue and click and drags it in a straight line, connecting the road to the highway.
“I think I know what to do with these roads, but what are they for,” questioned Twilight.
Roads are for ponies to drive in and out of the city, you can zone residential, commercial and industrial zones for the city. Remember that this is a simulation game where you build cities.
“Interesting, I see where this is going. Girls, it’s time for us to build a city,” Said Twilight
“What? Is that what this place is for? This will be awesome! Now we can have ponies cheering for me! I know this will be cool,” Said Rainbow Dash.
Twilight was a bit confused, that Rainbow was happy about that they’ll be building a city, but she doesn’t mind.

Chapter 2: Building a Town
“Why in tarnation we’re buildin’ a town for,” questioned Applejack.
“I have no idea, but I think it’s the only way to finish the game and go home,” said Twilight as she looked around the holographic projection looking for the ‘zones’ the book was talking about.
“Oh I found the zones! What should I put down first,” questions Twilight as she decides what to place. There are so many choices and options in the game, but she knows she must stick to the basics.
“Where are we going to sleep when it gets dark? You know how important it is to get my beauty sleep,” Said Rarity, as she looks around the place, trying to find some shelter.
“Twilight, you didn't read the other book, it only talks about the place we are in, says there’s a lot of something called ‘oil’, around here,” said Rainbow Dash.
“Oil? I've heard of it before, but I can’t remember when. Anyway I know the zones and I’m going to place it down, so stand back everypony,” Said Twilight as she starts to click and drag the residential zone across one side of the avenue. When she was done placing it down it made a small doorbell sound, which all of the ponies can hear.
“So, what did you put down anyway Twilight? I hear a doorbell but I can’t see any houses, if you don’t mind me asking,” said Fluttershy.
“At first I placed down a residential zone so ponies can live here, I think I see something over there,” replied Twilight as she points her hoof at a small piece of flat land being turned into construction sites.
“Look! There are moving things coming to town! Are they ponies here to have our we-just-made-a-city party? This will be so exciting,” said Pinkie with her filled excitement.
They see the construction trucks go and start building the homes, and after a while the small homes are done. Then ponies started to move in just a few seconds after that.
“Wow, I didn’t think construction trucks built houses that fast,” Twilight said in amazement. “But these are not houses for fancy ponies like me. Do you expecting me to sleep in a disgusting little home,” Said Rarity.
“Yes, and we will. It’s the only place we got until out town grows up,” Twilight said in a confident tone. It’s true, the houses are pretty poor and small, but better that sleeping outside right? Then the ponies walked up to a finished home, and Twilight knock on the door. A mare comes out of the door and looks at them for a second.
“May I help you? Say, are you the new mayor of this place,” asked the mare.
“Umm, yes, yes we are, and we need a place to sleep for a few days until we found somewhere else to sleep,” said Twilight.
“Sure, but it wouldn’t be that hard if we actually had some water, or power! I don’t want to have candles for light,” complained the pony. Of course, Twilight could thought of that sooner.
“Oh, I’m so sorry; I’ll get that fixed right away,”
“Well you got to hurry, or else the others will complain as well!”
“Alright, anything in this book that can tell me where to get some water, or power,” Said Twilight.
To get water, first you need to go to the water tab on the screen, then click on the water tower and just plop it down where there is a lot of water.
“Really, is that simple? What about power?”
If you click the power button, you will get a variety of power plants. I recommend using the Wind Power Plant. It’s cheap, but doesn’t make much power, but it’s enough for your city, for now.
“Interesting, hmm,” said Twilight as she thinks where would they all go. She makes a road for the wind power plant and then adds another road for the water tower. Then she notices that there is a currency counter, showing how much money she had left, which shows $11,356 left.
“Wow, I’m really spending my money. But luckily I have enough left for the water tower and power plant.”
She then plops down the water tower and power plant, now all she had to do is just wait and watch the action.
“Hey Twilight, what do you think of those flying things are? They move fast, but I think I can go even faster than those things,” Said Rainbow Dash.
“I never really noticed those things. Maybe we’ll find out later by that book,” Said Twilight.
“Books, books, books, when am I going to get famous and have the ponies loving me because of my awesomeness anyway,” Said Rainbow Dash.
“Later, when we have like thousands of ponies, rather than just having like a few hundred ponies,” said Twilight
“Say I just noticed that there are some decent shops, and some icky factories, did you put something down,” questions Rarity.
“Why, yes I did, sorry that I forgot to tell you, some ponies keep complaining that there are no stores, or jobs, so I put these down,” Twilight replies.
“Well the shopping is quite decent, do you really think that ponies would work at such a place with disgusting buildings all around them?”
“Well Rarity, they will get used to it. It’s such a small town after all. Say what’s this button blinking for,” Twilight says as she sees something on the hologram. She clicks a button and then it shows that now she is able to put in a town hall.
“Well we do need someplace to stay, this will do indeed! Plus, now the town can be in order with this being placed down.”
She then clicks on the town hall and looks for a spot to place it in. She decides to build a road that leads into the town hall. She places it down and sees the action of every pony being happier.
“Wow, I never knew they would be this happy.” Then she noticed something else. There was a pop up showing that now she can name her city after she placed down the town hall.
“Oh my gosh Twilight, now you can name your town! This is so exciting; this calls for a party inside the building,” Said Pinkie in such excitement, she looks like she’ll explode.
“First name the town, and then have the party,” said Twilight.
“What are you going to name it? What about Rainbow City? That would make this town about 20% cooler,” said Rainbow.
“How about Ponyville? I miss the animals and without me, who would feed them, and Angel,” Says Fluttershy.
“Hmm, those two names make me come up with a perfect name. Why not Lavender Town,” said Twilight.
“Are you loco in the coco Twilight? That name will creep out everypony and they'll get out of town!”
“Pinkie, there’s nothing creepy about the name Lavender Town; I just named it after my coat color. I promise nothing creepy will happen here,” says Twilight.
“Okay dokey lokey! Just don’t put any creepy music and we’ll be fine!”
Twilight doesn't really know what Pinkie is talking about, so like most ponies, she ignores her. She looks upon her glorious town that she has created.
“What a great and wonderful place! It looks like nothing bad will happen here at all!” Twilight said happily.
Then all of a sudden, the ground started shaking.
