The Surprise

It started out as any normal morning in the Apple family house. They ate oatmeal and apples for breakfest. While eating they talked about what fields they would harvest that day and about all the up coming events. When Applebloom was finally able to speak she asked about something that she had been pondering for a while,

"When will mom and dad come back from Manehatten?"

"Uh well..." Applejack began,

Granny stopped her, and then nodded.

" You have reached the age that we need to tell you what happened to your parents," Granny stated.

When you where a little filly your sister's friend Rarity was walking across a bridge when it snapped and she screamed to an ear piercing degree that could be heard from afar. Your parent's upon hearing the scream ran to help, Applejack (being worried) followed to help. When they got there your dad saw her in the middle of the expanse and started climbing across to the middle to get Rarity while your mother held the bridge from fallen into the river that lay far below. Once your father got to Rarity he grabbed her and started making his way back, sadly, when he was about there the rope that was just barely holding him snapped, acting as fast as your mother could she grabbed it in her teeth. Knowing that it would be impossible to save himself and Rarity your father tossed her to Applejack who caught her and started pulling her up. There seemed to be hope of them surviving (when all of a sudden the cliff broke off from under your mother and she and your father fell to there death with Applejack watching the whole thing. After finally pulling Rarity up she found that your mothers hat laying there. When she returned she was holding her mothers hat and was sulking while Rarity try'd to comfort her. When she finally stopped crying and told us the news me and Big mac started weeping finding that we had just lost a big part of our family. We recovered after a few days but Applejack kept on blaming herself for what happened that day. Saying that if she wouldn't have been so weak she would have been able to pull Rarity up and go help her mother hold the rope.

After finding out the sad truth Applebloom broke down into tears. Applejack being the good big sister she was and understanding her pain did the best she could to comfort Applebloom.

"B...but I don't get it," choked out Applebloom.

"Get what sugar cube," asked Applejack.

"W...w...why didn't y...you tell me earlier?"

"Well we didn't want you to have to learn something so tragic at such a young age."

"When it happened, I was about your age, and I didn't stop weeping for weeks, for a matter of fact I didn't eat for three whole days. That's why we didn't want to tell you but sadly we couldn't let you not know the truth for to long."

"How bout we get some ice-cream, that always cheered me up," asked Big Mac

"It'll be my treat," he stated.

"Well I...I guess."

"Well than stop that mopping and put a smile on your face, he said while lifting up her head. Our parent's would want us to live happily."

"Well can I get a chocolate-mint-chip with oat sprinkles and cherry hard shell?"

" Why yes little miss, said Mr.Cake (being a gentlecolt as usual)."

"After waiting awhile he brought her what she asked for."

"Thank you Mr.Cake."

"Your mighty welcome."

"So are you feeling better, asked Bigmac."

"Yeah I guess, thank you Bigmac, your a great big brother."

"Anything to make you smile."

"Well than can I go play with Sweetiebelle and Scootaloo?"

"Why sure cause I got to go and buck the north field with Applejack, can't have her doing it all alone."

"Yeah remember what happened last time, said Applebloom."

"E-yup, stated Bigmac with a chuckle.

After that they went there separate ways.

"Well hey there sweetie," Rarity said when Applebloom got to the boutique. "What would you like?"

"Can I see Sweetiebelle?"

"Why of course darling. Sweeeetiebeelllle."

"Yes Rarity, do you want me to try on another dress or something cause if so, you can count me out," said Sweetie with exaggeration.

"No it's Appleb-," Before she could even finish Sweetiebelle was out of her room, down the stairs and at the door.

"Hey Applebloom, what you want."

"Sweetie, that is no way to act around a guest."

"Okaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy, so what is it that you would like to do Applebloom?"

"I just wanted to hang with you and Scoots," Applebloom stated like it was obvious.

"Well how about we go get her then."

"Bye Rarity," they both chirped out before leaving the boutique to go and get Scootaloo.

After crossing ponyville they knocked on Scootaloo's door. After one or two minutes they heard a sweet gentle voice say, "hello who is it?"

"It's Applebloom and Sweetiebelle," they answered.

The door opened and they saw the canary yellow coat and looked up into the kind bright blue eyes of Scootaloo's mother Wind Rider. She had beautiful violet hair like Scootaloo and surprisingly large wings.

"Well hey there Sweetiebelle and Applebloom, what is it that you would like?"

"Hey Mrs.Rider, can Scootaloo play with us for a while?"

"Yeah but your gonna have to wait awhile, oh and you don't have to call me Mrs.Rider just call me Sky dears."

"Why is that Mrs.R I mean Sky?"

"Well right now Scootaloo is working on her wings."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well you know, physical wing therapy, as in to make it so she can fly."

"OOhhhh that makes since now, said Sweetiebelle."

"So come on in little ones and I'll make you some lemonade while Scootaloo finishes up", said Sky.

They walked in and made themselves at home while she made some lemonade. When they walked into the living room they found Scootaloo's father Wagon Wheel. Who looked rather bored, he had a orange coat black mane and tail and ruby red eyes...

"Well hello there girls have you been behaving?"

"Yes, Mr.Wheel," the two said in unison."

"You know I could just gobble you up, you are the kindest and cutest little girls I have ever met", said Mr.Wheel.

"Why thank you, the two said in unison."

"Well how about you come and take a seat."

"Well sure."

"So what have you girls been doing this morning?"

"Well I went to Sugar-cube corner to get some ice-cream and than picked up Sweetie. So I pretty much did nothing at all this morning, said Applebloom."

"Well what about you Sweetie? Well I ate breakfest and then much to my dismay, had to try on a dress and help with the adjustments for Rarity."

"Dang I feel bad for you, said Wagon Wheel with simpathy."

"Yeah, and then I went upstairs and took a nap until Applebloom saved me, from that nightmare."

"They all turned at the sound of hoof steps coming down the stairs."

"Well hey there girls what are you doing here", asked Scootaloo.

"Well your just done in time for my famous lemonade." Sky handed out her lemonade to them all.

"How do you make this Sky?"

"A chef never reveals her secret's, she said with a giggle."

After chugging down there drinks they said good-bye. "Behave, oh and Scoot's come back by dinner."

"Ok mom." Once they got to the club house they sat there for awhile thinking of ideas. Finally Scootaloo said how about we see if we can get our cutie marks in swimming. So off they went and swam.

Applejack was bucking the North field like usual in the fall harvest when she for what seemed impossible heard a long dead voice say.

"Well howdy small jack".

Only her mother called her that so being confused she cleared her ears and turned to the area where she heard the voice come from and saw her mother and father and obviously fainted on the spot.
