Soon after a recon drone was sent in to the portal. At first all it found was a bunch of snow, but then it found an entire kingdom made entirely of crystals." "Seeing this the U.N wanted to send an envoy to them, but with its constant arguing it would have taken them weeks to decide on a pony to send. With that in mind the U.S decided to send in a recon unit made entirely of volunteers from every branch of the military to infiltrate and learn if they were non-hostile." "So I volunteered not for personal gain but to pay for my mother's operation. All the while knowing full well there was no guarantee I would be coming..." "Flash" "back from this at..." "Flash" "all. Even though..." "Flash sentry!" "What is it!" I replied angrily "You looked disconnected, like your about to pass out." Said my closest thing to a friend in the unit, his code name was Ridge dog a big guy. "Come on we're about to leave for the portal." he said That's was when I heard the inner com. *Attention, all combat personal to your vehicles. I repeat all combat personal to your vehicles* I put on my helmet, picked up my gun and I immediately headed for my Humvee. I hopped into the drivers seat I looked back to find the rest of my squad. It contained Ridge dog, some tuff looking pegasus bitch named Lightning dust, our commander, a zebra named only by Sarge, this young recruit named Ze and Ridge's dog Thane. From the parts I read that weren't blacked out. Ridge was your standard Tennessee boy, who originally enlisted with the rangers. Probably should make a mental note to ask him on why he's here. He's this squad's heavy weapons and explosives expert. He also brought his former squad's dog who has been given state of the art technology. Next was Lightning dust a fully fledged graduate of the top gun academy for pegusi, she had lost her husband in Afghanistan when he was serving with the marines. Why she's here I don't know. She's also our eye in the sky. Next up is Ze from what I read he didn't volunteer for this. He was actually an army reservist who only signed up to help him gain more money for college. I mean before this he was some child genius, who was currently supposed to be working with some of the most profound scientists in genetics. He was volunteered by someone up the ranks for a secret mission. And last of my squad is Sarge. From what I read he's seen five tours in Afghanistan with the army. Also from what I read he's been skipped over multiple promotions. So he's probably here to just get promoted. He's the acting commander of this squad. And all that leaves is me. Well my actual name doesn't even matter because for the next six months my real name might not even be used. I originally enlisted with the Marines thinking I would be sent to the more dangerous places because I was the best shot in my entire unit. But no I pretty much got to do nothing. There were so many things wrong with this mission like the synthetic wing covers for pegusi, which make our wings smaller by half. I don't even know how our wings are going to lift us even an inch off the ground. Some of us even took it up with the colonel, but the only response we got back was that it was 'classified'. A voice came over the Humvee's radio * All vehicles through the portal, mission is go.* We drove through the portal. Once inside for a split second I felt a strange tingle in my wings and in my body. The air felt warmer then we exited then it got cold as hell. I could feel the cold even through my padded clothes. Then the voice of the colonel came through the radio. *This is the colonel to all infiltration units you know your orders. You are to report back here in six months. Any new information will be relayed to you, but only if the circumstances call for it.* I turned to my commanding officer and my squad mates. Who were quiet until just now. "Wait just like that they want us to go of into the tundra and infiltrate a place that we don't even know where it is!" shouted Ze "Oh stop bitching." said Lightning dust *ruff* "Thank you Thane." "I don't think we'll have to look far." Sarge said pointing towards the sky. We looked outside the windows to see long flowing lights. Almost like the northern lights, but more colorful. Flowing from what appeared to be a giant spire made of crystal. The other troops began to look as well. You know now that I think about it why did we bring several armored vehicles, mortars and three different kinds of choppers. "Well if that's the case lets follow those lights and get to our objectives." said Ridge I all of a sudden felt a slight tingle at the top of both my back legs. I looked down at my legs and saw a twinkle and a small mark shaped like a lightning bolt on top of a shield appeared. I immediately began to shout. "What the fuck is on my ass!" 3 months later(edited)It's currently been three months since we landed, in what we now know as Equestrian on the planet they call Equis. In that time this entire planet has seemingly taken me by the tail and ride me up a pole. I've grown out my mane, encountered some of the most strangest ponies, I think the princess wants to rape me for some odd reason and then there's princess Twilight we've only met a couple times and she looks at me like I did something wrong. In two of those months I've managed to become a member of their military, only half a month to become a personal guard of princess Celestia herself, two days to realize that magic flows freely through this world and only an our before I realized I could fly with these synthetic covers. From what I am able to put together just before the recon force showed up there was an attack on the city of Canterlot by a race known as changeling. Apparently most of Celestia's personal guard quit after the attack do to many of them were harvested for love by female changeling soldiers and they weren't gentle. Which through my training as a Marine probably gave me an advantage in taking one of those spots. "Hey Flash hurry up we're going to be late!" I also made a couple of friends while I was here. "I'm coming!" I ran up beside my buddy named silver scope. A unicorn stallion who means well, but it always seems to blow up in his face. "Why were you just standing there?" We began our way to the throne room. "No reason. Hey have you seen Crescent Sun." "No why?" "It's her birthday. Did you forget. I mean after what she said happened last year, I think you would have at least remembered to get her a gift." "Hey how was I supposed to know that cake was going to explode and destroy half her kitchen." "Crescent said something about you putting unicorn magic in it. Which begs the question how are you two still friends?" "She's really nice to me." I looked at him with a smile. "I don't think that's why." If on schedule a white hybrid pony/bat pony in guard's armor named crescent sun jumped in between us. "Hey guys doing anything special today" she said gleefully "Yeah sorry about last year with the cake." "It's okay you can make up to me this year... maybe take me out to dinner." I looked over at scope who looked like somebody had cast a spell on him. Sun walked over to him looking at him with a concerned look. "Damn it, I think I broke him." I walked up behind scope and quickly whispered in to his ear. "I'm doing this for your own good." I saw his eye twitch slightly before I bucked him on to Crescent Sun. Then I continued on to my post. When I made it to the throne I was met by a bunch of cold stares, which wasn't really out of the ordinary, but today felt different. Like every one was on edge. I even saw some quick glances from some of the exiting night guards. I was about to take my position by the throne when one of the other guards flagged me down. "Flash sentry, the captain has requested your presence immediately." "What does he want." "I don't know only that he requested you personally." I shrugged and went to the captains office. I opened the door to find captain Gleaming Spear sitting at his desk. He was a grey earth pony with a mustache and a buzz cut and he had like my grandfather's. I looked at him for a couple minutes before I cleared my throat to get his attention. "You wanted to see me sir?" "Yes, please come in and shut the door behind you." I closed the door behind me, sat in the chair and took my helmet off. "So what is it you wanted to see me for." He exhaled loudly and stood up and walked over to the window. "I've called you in here because you've been reassigned to princess Twilight Sparkle." "Sir it's not that I'm flattered or anything it's just why me, out of all the guards?" "The princesses want somebody they can trust to start princess Twilight's new guard and you were the one they chose." "Wait, what do you mean by trust?" "Look I'm not going to sugar coat it we believe there is a spy amongst us." My mind went blank as I thought on how did somebody already get caught. My first though was it was one of those idiots from gamma squad and their damn LAV. Then I realized we volunteered for this mission, but knowing this I still kept calm. "Any idea who it might be, sir?" "No, it's hard to tell what with all the new volunteers that joined after the changeling invasion a few months back. Also your going to have to pick two other guards to join you on this mission. And you'll be needing this." He handed me a dossier with all the details for this assignment. "Thank you sir." I began to get up out of the chair when I heard the captain shout. "Wait, hold on!" My body froze up at the thought I might have been caught. He walked up to me slowly. "Yes sir?" "I almost forgot to tell you your getting new armor when you get there, because the armor your currently wearing is faulty." he hit my armor lightly "Faulty?" "Yeah something about the armor's spell not working. Just don't worry about it." I left the room and closed the door behind me before letting out a long exhale. God that was lucky. I looked up at the clock to see that it was time for my lunch break. I began down the hall towards the cafeteria. I walked out through the lunch line to see silver scope and crescent sun sitting together at our usual table. I walked over to the table and sat down. "So how are you two love birds doing?" I said mockingly "We're doing just great, isn't that right Scope." she pronounced happily "Yep just fine. Hey Crescent can you go get us some more napkins." said Silver Scope "Sure thing." she gave him a kiss and headed off towards the lunch line. When she was out of listening range Scope started to get mad at me. "You are a dick and I hope you know that." Said Silver Scope angrily "Why what did I do?" "You forced me into this relationship." "I thought you'd be happy?" "Yeah I am, but I didn't want to ask her out like this. With you pushing me on her." "You needed a push, simple." "Yeah, but what do I do?" "What do you mean?" "Where do I take her and how do I act." "Just be yourself, take her to a nice casual restaurant and then take her to her birthday party. It's that easy." "Yeah that seems about right. Okay I'll do it. Oh wait here she comes act natural." Crescent Sun walked over and sat down next to Scope. "What were you two just talking about?" "Uuumm nothing. Hey are you ready to go?" silver scope said obviously trying to change the subject "Go? Go where exactly?" I said acting like I didn't know "He's taking me out on a date and we got permission to leave work early thanks to my birthday." "Yeah okay. You two have fun." Then it clicked in my head I forgot to tell scope that there's going to be a surprise party at Crescent's apartment. Really hope he doesn't think of trying to get laid at her house. Also I should ask them if they want to come with me to Ponyville to work as the new personal guard of princess Twilight. "Hey guys you want to..." And they were gone. Whelp better head back to my apartment and pack before the party. The party(edited)I walked up to the home provided for me by the equestrian guard for being one of princess celestia's personal guard. Which I am forced to share with Ze for his, I want to call them experiments. His secret mission was to apparently study the populous of equestria and has now recently taken it apon himself to studymagic and potions. And I've been given the privilege of guarding him. I opened up the door and went inside. I took off my helmet and collapsed on the couch. I began to lazily take of my armor when I heard a gun go off in the basement. "Well it looks like I won't be getting any TIME TO RELAX!" I yelled intentionally to Ze. I got up off the couch and went down into the basement. I pulled the secret lever which moved the book case that hid a door. The door led into an old sewer system that led to a lake just outside the walls of canterlot. Which we converted into our base of operations. Complete with a firing range, lab area, garage(for the Humvee) and even our very own bar. I entered the room wondering what just happened. "Alright just what the hell are you doing down here. I looked down on the ground to see Ze holding his ears and lying on the ground with his gun a few feet away still smoking. A small amount of blood was flowing out of his ears. I pulled Ze to his hooves. "Alright Ze why did you fire your gun off." He looked at me in confusion. "What!?" "I said why did you fire your gun!" "There was a spider!" "Oh god dammit Ze not again! I know you have arachnophobia, but this is getting ridiculous!" "No this time it was different it was two times my size!" "Wait hold on let me get the potion." "What!" I walked over towards the table and picked up the potion. I walked back over to Ze and brought his head down to where I can poor in the potion. "Alright you know the drill this is going to sting a little." I quickly pored the potion into his ears and waited for it to kick in. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH sweet Jesus that hurts. Aaahhhh why?" The potion sizzled in his ear until the blood stopped flowing. "Because that's what you get for firing your weapon without your ear muffs." "I hate you, thanks." "You know you shouldn't be firing your gun when not in the firing range, the neighbors are starting to complain." "Yea well they don't seem to come around now because of that dog of yours." "Hey scruffy is very nice, so leave him out of it. Besides I'll be leaving soon as part of a new assignment for the Equestrian guard I'm going to form princess Twilight's guard." "Dude no, you already managed to infiltrate Celestia's guard. Why do you even need to infiltrate another one." "They asked me personally, also they suspect there's a spy amongst them and I think one of our own might be compromised. And besides they're unsure who it is." "What! How were we already compromised. You think it might be one of gamma's. I mean they brought a striker through. I'm pretty sure that's not a stealth vehicle." "I know, but we shouldn't worry about it. Speaking of which how's your infiltration going." "It's going great actually. I managed to get a job as a professor of natural science at Canterlot university." "Good. Come on let's head upstairs." "Why." "Because thanks to you I'm not going to be able to pack up my things before Crescent Sun's party. So your going to help me." "Fine." We began through the door when out the corner of my eye I saw a silhouette of a large creature, but I ignored it and continued on my way. I arrived outside Crescent Sun's house with my gift. I reached for the door bell only to be interrupted a hoof. The hoof belonged to a large bulky earth pony stallion. He looked at me for several seconds with a scowl on his face, before talking in a very deep and intimidating voice.. "Alright just who are you." "My name's Flash sentry. I'm a friend of crescent sun's. We work together in the guard." He continued to stair me down until a frail looking bat pony mare with an even frailer voice walked over to us. "Oh stop harassing the boy brick. He's our daughter's friend so treat him like one." "You how I am with her and other stallions it's just that I don't want to see her grow up." "You have to let go she's a grown mare now let her go. Now come on let's go inside and---" She was cut short when we heard laughter coming from down the street. I looked out over the railing to just barely see Crescent Sun and Silver Scope coming down the road. "She's coming we got to hide" We immediately went inside and warned the other party members that crescent sun was coming and everybody hid. Though I felt like I forgot to tell them something important. Then it hit me that Crescent was coming with Scope and Crescent's overly protective father was behind me. But before I could act I heard the door slam open. With Crescent Sun and Silver Scope holding each other tightly and making out. I looked around and saw expressions of both shock and while others tried to suppress their laughter. Behind me I could see crescent's mom just barely contain Brick. I looked back to see Crescents hoof begin to go south and that's where I decided to stop it. "uuuuuuummm surprise." Their eyes opened widely as the lights came on revealing every pony in the room. They looked at the crowd their mouths hanging open. Scope was standing completely still while Crescent was giving the stair that her father was giving me earlier, only it was pointed directly at her dad who looked completely pissed at Scope. After a moment of silence Brick began to talk with his teeth gritted. "Crescent... sweaty please show your... friend the door please... before I murder him." In defiance of her father Crescent went up to Scope and kissed him directly on the mouth. Brick was about to lunge at Scope, but he was being held back by several of Crescent's relatives. "I'm going to find you little shit and skin you alive!" Just as Brick was about to break free a small hoof reached up on to Brick's shoulder and grabbed it tightly. Brick soon fell on to the ground completely knocked out. With Crescent's mom still holding on tightly to brick. "I'm sorry he got out of control like that. He usually doesn't get like that. Unless she brings home a date, then they run off." said Crescent's mom. "I'm sorry we didn't get acquainted earlier I'm Blood Moon." she extended her hoof to shake "uuuhh Flash sentry." I reached out and shook her hoof "Where exactly did you learn to do that?" "Oh before Brick and I met I was a part of the Equestrian special forces." Scope and Crescent walked over to what was now a completely knocked out Brick. "Thanks for taking care of dad and saving Scope. I can't believe this happened for the second year in a row." "It was nothing really." "At least this time it wasn't caused by an exploding cake." "Hey I thought you told me tonight more than made up for that." Scope said "It almost did, except I was hoping to go a little bit further, but you could make it up to me when every pony leaves." Crescent said with a smile "I'm afraid you two might not have time to do that." I said "Why?" they both said "Because you to are going to report down at the train station tomorrow morning for our new posts in ponyville. I was going to tell you, but you left before I could say anything." "So wait a minute you just want us to pack up and go." Crescent whined "Yeah, consider it a gift from me to the both of you." "Wait why did you even choose us." scope chimed in I handed them the dossier with all the mission guidelines. "As you can probably see the captain wanted me to choose two ponies that I trusted to take on this mission." Scope looked up from the dossier "So why choose us, we're not exactly the best." "Yes, but one you two are the only two guards I actually know and two I think the two-hundred pounds of muscle laying at our feet is reason enough, at least fore you scope." I pointed down at Brick's unconscious body. "Good point. And even knocked out I'm still scarred of Brick. I mean just look at him he's even more menacing while sleeping." said Scope "Oh that reminds me can you boys please put Brick on the couch." said Blood Moon "Yea sure. Alright Scope grab his legs." "Why me." "Because I'm your new commanding officer and I say pick up that stallion." To PonyvilleI packed up my things and replaced my wing covers with a fresh pair knowing that it would be a while before I can replace them again. The purpose of the covers were to make our wings smaller, so we could blend in better with the populace. With out them our wings would be two almost three times the size of an average pegasus on this world. I still think the only reason I'm able to fly with such small wings is the 'magic' that flows normally through this planet. With these wings covers on the only way you could tell the difference between the pegusi from Earth and the pegusi from Equestria is that the pegusi from Earth don't have hollow bones or natural crash resistance, so if we crash we die. I turned to Ze. "Alright while I'm gone you're in charge of the house. Make sure to take care of the dog and when you can drop off the rest of my equipment in ponyville." "Yeah alright, can I go back to bed now." "Yeah sure just remember to bring my equipment to Ponyville." I made my way to the train station where Silver Scope and Crescent Sun were waiting. As I got closer I noticed how tired they looked. Though crescent looked slightly annoyed. "So you guys ready to get moving." "Yeah we are." said Crescent in a slightly cold tone Picking up on this I decided to act quickly. "Hey Scope you think you could go get our train tickets." "Uhhh yea sure." As soon as scope was out of ear shot I immediately began to question Crescent. "So you think you can tell me why you're so angry. Did something bad happen between you and Scope?" "No nothing happened... well nothing bad?" "So was he... you know 'small'." "No of course not he was actually very," she made a face that just screamed pleasure, "filling. And he's also very..." I cut her off before she could go into detail. "If that's not the problem then why are you so mad. And also I'm kind of curious, did you two had sex on the first date? Because it doesn't seem like either of you would do that sort of thing." Crescent sat on her haunches and put her hooves up to her face and began to cry. She began to talk through her tears. "You want to know why I'm angry. I'm angry because I recently learned I'm unable to have children. At first I thought my parents were joking when they told me when I was younger that I had a small chance of being able to reproduce. So I got anxious with him because... well Scope and I have been friends for so long and I've been trying so long. It just felt right." Her mood immediately turned a bit angrier. "And don't think I'm just using him, so I can have a child. I respect him too much to do that." I looked past her to see scope behind a luggage cart, staring at us with a neutral tone. "Then maybe you should go talk to him about it. Or don't and live too regret it. Either way it's your choice." I walked away from her and headed towards the train and signaled Scope to go over and comfort her. He then ran over to her. I sat looking out my window of the trains cabin at the passing mountain landscape out into the valley that housed Ponyville. Until I saw a figure of a pony out of the corner of my eye that reminded me of the same figure from the underground tunnels back at the house. I immediately turned around to find that the pony was gone. I quickly went out of the cabin to search for the pony that I saw. Only to find that the pony was gone. I knew from that moment on that some pony was following me. The train pulled into Ponyville station. Me, Scope and Crescent walked of the train with our luggage. Before we could react were greeted by a hail of confetti and a very pink mare that managed to, beyond all logic, grabbed all three of us and proceeded to throw us into a party. I looked all around now shocked by the events that just happened only too look up and see a banner the said 'welcome new guards party'. I decided to leave the party to go and find princess Twilight, so I could start my job. As soon as I began to leave the same mare that grabbed me and my friends jumped right on top of me. And began to talk to me in a very high pitch voice. "High I'm Pinkie pie and I would just love to welcome you to Ponyville. What's your name?" "Uuuh?" "Oh of course duh your Flash sentry. We met back in the crystal empire. Well not exactly met more like told about by my friend Twilight. Who you already know about. I mean she says she's not into you, but I personally think she's lieing. I mean it's kind of ironic that you're here because we didn't even know who was coming. Which makes this all the more exciting." I looked at her trying to comprehend what she just said. "Wait what was that last part?" "Oh you mean that part about..." Before she could finish she was cut off by an unknown mare. "PINKIE I think you've already introduced yourself to him. Why don't you introduce yourself to the other new guards." "Oh that's a great idea!" The mare who I now recognized as princess Twilight walked over to me while still looking at Pinkie pie shaking her head and without looking extended a hoof towards me. I gladly grabbed her hoof and began to pull my self up. "I'm sorry she just gets like that around new ponies." "It's alright all she did was push me down to the..." Before I could get up she let go of my hoof sending me back towards the ground. She looked down at me with a surprised expression. "Oh sorry about that." she said smiling while blushing slightly I got from the ground not breaking eye contact. "It's alright princess." We continued to awkwardly stair at each other for a minute until I decided to break the tension. "So do I start my job now or do I have to do some follow up with you." Without saying anything just walked of with the same expression on her face. As she was walking away I couldn't help but stair at her thinking "That was awkward." old friends and new friendsI continued to stare at her until I felt a familiar hoof on my shoulder. I looked back to see Scope and Crescent looking at me. "You mind telling us what that was about." said Scope in an amused tone "I was trying to report our new post when I was attacked by... well I don't know what it was it happened so fast. When I met the princess and you know the rest." Scope and Crescent covered their mouths and tried not to laugh. "And what is so funny about that." "Oh nothing it's that you left out the part where you fell in what I hope is chocolate." said Crescent trying even harder not to laugh I looked back in horror at the big brown stain on my back armor. "Oh come on!" "He probably didn't notice it while he was staring at the princesses flank." he started to laugh again when he was silenced by Crescent punching him in his side. "Owww what was that for." "That's not funny and it's a very serious thing!" "Yea serves you right for laughing at me." I was then smacked outside the head by Crescent "Ahh what was that for." "That's for staring at the princesses flank. I mean how disrespectful can you get of a higher entity." "Hey I was not staring at her flank, and you two are ones to talk you don't even give me the respect I as your commanding officer deserve." "Well your not really earning our respect when you do stuff like stare at the princess's flank. Right Scope." "She does have a point you really should be more respectful to the princess. Besides rumor has it she's an insane genius who stocks children and casts spells on dolls just to study the effects. So you better watch what you say or you might end up being one of her experiments." I looked at Scope in disbelief "You know I doubt that because insane and genius have pretty much opposite meanings. She probably wouldn't even be a princess if she was crazy. And I don't want to continue talking about it. It's been a long strange day already and we've only been here for fifteen minutes. I'm tired so lets just go check in to our posts so we can get off this armor and relax." Crescent and Scope let out a deep exhale. "Aw, but we just got here and they through a party in honor of us, why leave now when we could be celebrating with cake." said Crescent "Huh fine do what ever you want, but I'm going to go report in. Enjoy yourselves." I started to walk off when I was tackled into the ground again by the same pink mare "Wait you can't go yet! You still have to meet the others." "Others?" "Yeah me and all of Twilight's bestest friends." "Great" I said sarcastically "now can you please get off of me" "Oh right sorry." I got up off the ground and looked at her in the eyes. "Okay so who do you want me to meet?" She then grabbed me, Scope, and crescent by the neck and some how in a blur managed to pull us over to an apple stand where four mares were chatting. One mare was orange with a long blonde main who looked like she was from a more rural area, another one was light blue with a rainbow colored main that looked like a rats nest and appeared to be very energetic, the next one was white with a curly purple main who was very attractive and well composed, and the last one was yellow with a long pink main who appeared to be very timid. Pinkie pie plunked us down in front of the stand and we were quickly noticed by the group of mares. "Hey girls" said Pinkie-pie "look the new guards just showed up." "Uh Pinkie pie we kinda figured that out when heard the music and cannon fire." said the orange mare behind the counter "Yeah, but I really wanted to introduce them personally to all of us." She then pointed at the mares and started to introduce them "So I want to introduce you to Apple jack." she tipped her hat to us "Might fine pleasure to meet ya." "Rarity" "Charmed I'm sure." "Rainbow dash." "Hey what's up." "Fluttershy." "It's nice to meet you." "And I'm Pinkie pie, but you already knew that." I composed myself and replied "Hi I'm Flash Sentry and these two are Silver Scope and Crescent Sun." They started to exchange glances amongst each other accept for Pinkie pie who just standing there with a giant grin on her face. "Is something wrong?" "Oh nothings wrong it's just we weren't expecting you in particular." said Rarity "Yeah I think I can understand why that is." "You can?" all of them said in unison "Yeah considering I've only been a guard for almost three months, and that's including basic. And a third of that time I've been apart of Celestia's personal guard. I guess the only reason I'm here is because I was recommended for being trust worthy... don't know why I was considered to be trust worthy." "Yur jok'n right?" said apple jack "Sadly I'm not." "So what your saying is there are spies in the guard." said Rainbowdash I considered my options before I answered. Not wanting to cause suspicion towards myself I passed it off as nothing "Yeah there allegedly is, but I think it's just paranoia. What are you doing in Pony ville?" "I was transferred here by the guard. To become a personal guard of princess Twilight." "And where's Ze?" "He's still back in Canterlot." "So what your telling me is you left Ze all alone back in Canterlot." I started to talk in code "Don't worry we still have some friends that can check up on him." "I see you two know each other." said "Yeah we're friends from along time ago. Whelp see you later Flash I gotta get back to work." When he was outta sight the girls started to talk again. "Sometimes I wonder Apple Jack how you managed to get your hooves on to another stallion as strong as Big Mac and might I say just as handsome." said Rarity "You may not, because it's very difficult to find a worker like him and I'd rather not lose him." "You know AJ it must be pretty hard trying to keep mares off both Big Mac and Ridge." said Rainbowdash "Yeah I gotta confess it was already a chore with just Big Mac, but now it's practically become my job. I said I then found myself being stared down by Apple Jack who looked very angry. Rarity then disappeared into the crowd "Well..." as forced as it felt "buck me." I then felt a cold painful smack across the face. "Oww what was that for!" I then collapsed to the ground clenching my face "That was for using inappropriate language around me." "What are you doing out here all by yourself Apple Jack." "I'm not alone and I'm teaching this here foul mouth varmint a lesson in manners." I then heard some hoof steps walk over to me "You know Apple Jack you really shouldn't hit some pony just because they say a bad word." I then reached out to gab the somewhat familiar mares outstretched hoof and pulled myself up off of the ground. I then took my hoof off of my throbbing face and looked into the eyes of my hero and current boss princess Twilight Sparkle. "Thank you ma'am for helping me." I continued to look into her eyes until I finally realized she was staring at our touching hooves and not moving at all. "Are you okay princess you seem a bit discombobulated. Hello." It was then that I saw at the last moment a familiar gray hoof grab the princess's back leg. Then the next thing I realized was the princess being thrown on top of me as I heard Scope shout "ha payback!" It was at that moment that my mind stopped as I noticed how attractive she was. If I hadn't been on a mission I'd probably would have been more easy going to the events that followed.
prologue(edited)"It's been two weeks since a portal of unknown origins appeared in the middle of Washington. Soon after a recon drone was sent in to the portal. At first all it found was a bunch of snow, but then it found an entire kingdom made entirely of crystals." "Seeing this the U.N wanted to send an envoy to them, but with its constant arguing it would have taken them weeks to decide on a pony to send. With that in mind the U.S decided to send in a recon unit made entirely of volunteers from every branch of the military to infiltrate and learn if they were non-hostile." "So I volunteered not for personal gain but to pay for my mother's operation. All the while knowing full well there was no guarantee I would be coming..." "Flash" "back from this at..." "Flash" "all. Even though..." "Flash sentry!" "What is it!" I replied angrily "You looked disconnected, like your about to pass out." Said my closest thing to a friend in the unit, his code name was Ridge dog a big guy. "Come on we're about to leave for the portal." he said That's was when I heard the inner com. *Attention, all combat personal to your vehicles. I repeat all combat personal to your vehicles* I put on my helmet, picked up my gun and I immediately headed for my Humvee. I hopped into the drivers seat I looked back to find the rest of my squad. It contained Ridge dog, some tuff looking pegasus bitch named Lightning dust, our commander, a zebra named only by Sarge, this young recruit named Ze and Ridge's dog Thane. From the parts I read that weren't blacked out. Ridge was your standard Tennessee boy, who originally enlisted with the rangers. Probably should make a mental note to ask him on why he's here. He's this squad's heavy weapons and explosives expert. He also brought his former squad's dog who has been given state of the art technology. Next was Lightning dust a fully fledged graduate of the top gun academy for pegusi, she had lost her husband in Afghanistan when he was serving with the marines. Why she's here I don't know. She's also our eye in the sky. Next up is Ze from what I read he didn't volunteer for this. He was actually an army reservist who only signed up to help him gain more money for college. I mean before this he was some child genius, who was currently supposed to be working with some of the most profound scientists in genetics. He was volunteered by someone up the ranks for a secret mission. And last of my squad is Sarge. From what I read he's seen five tours in Afghanistan with the army. Also from what I read he's been skipped over multiple promotions. So he's probably here to just get promoted. He's the acting commander of this squad. And all that leaves is me. Well my actual name doesn't even matter because for the next six months my real name might not even be used. I originally enlisted with the Marines thinking I would be sent to the more dangerous places because I was the best shot in my entire unit. But no I pretty much got to do nothing. There were so many things wrong with this mission like the synthetic wing covers for pegusi, which make our wings smaller by half. I don't even know how our wings are going to lift us even an inch off the ground. Some of us even took it up with the colonel, but the only response we got back was that it was 'classified'. A voice came over the Humvee's radio * All vehicles through the portal, mission is go.* We drove through the portal. Once inside for a split second I felt a strange tingle in my wings and in my body. The air felt warmer then we exited then it got cold as hell. I could feel the cold even through my padded clothes. Then the voice of the colonel came through the radio. *This is the colonel to all infiltration units you know your orders. You are to report back here in six months. Any new information will be relayed to you, but only if the circumstances call for it.* I turned to my commanding officer and my squad mates. Who were quiet until just now. "Wait just like that they want us to go of into the tundra and infiltrate a place that we don't even know where it is!" shouted Ze "Oh stop bitching." said Lightning dust *ruff* "Thank you Thane." "I don't think we'll have to look far." Sarge said pointing towards the sky. We looked outside the windows to see long flowing lights. Almost like the northern lights, but more colorful. Flowing from what appeared to be a giant spire made of crystal. The other troops began to look as well. You know now that I think about it why did we bring several armored vehicles, mortars and three different kinds of choppers. "Well if that's the case lets follow those lights and get to our objectives." said Ridge I all of a sudden felt a slight tingle at the top of both my back legs. I looked down at my legs and saw a twinkle and a small mark shaped like a lightning bolt on top of a shield appeared. I immediately began to shout. "What the fuck is on my ass!"
3 months later(edited)It's currently been three months since we landed, in what we now know as Equestrian on the planet they call Equis. In that time this entire planet has seemingly taken me by the tail and ride me up a pole. I've grown out my mane, encountered some of the most strangest ponies, I think the princess wants to rape me for some odd reason and then there's princess Twilight we've only met a couple times and she looks at me like I did something wrong. In two of those months I've managed to become a member of their military, only half a month to become a personal guard of princess Celestia herself, two days to realize that magic flows freely through this world and only an our before I realized I could fly with these synthetic covers. From what I am able to put together just before the recon force showed up there was an attack on the city of Canterlot by a race known as changeling. Apparently most of Celestia's personal guard quit after the attack do to many of them were harvested for love by female changeling soldiers and they weren't gentle. Which through my training as a Marine probably gave me an advantage in taking one of those spots. "Hey Flash hurry up we're going to be late!" I also made a couple of friends while I was here. "I'm coming!" I ran up beside my buddy named silver scope. A unicorn stallion who means well, but it always seems to blow up in his face. "Why were you just standing there?" We began our way to the throne room. "No reason. Hey have you seen Crescent Sun." "No why?" "It's her birthday. Did you forget. I mean after what she said happened last year, I think you would have at least remembered to get her a gift." "Hey how was I supposed to know that cake was going to explode and destroy half her kitchen." "Crescent said something about you putting unicorn magic in it. Which begs the question how are you two still friends?" "She's really nice to me." I looked at him with a smile. "I don't think that's why." If on schedule a white hybrid pony/bat pony in guard's armor named crescent sun jumped in between us. "Hey guys doing anything special today" she said gleefully "Yeah sorry about last year with the cake." "It's okay you can make up to me this year... maybe take me out to dinner." I looked over at scope who looked like somebody had cast a spell on him. Sun walked over to him looking at him with a concerned look. "Damn it, I think I broke him." I walked up behind scope and quickly whispered in to his ear. "I'm doing this for your own good." I saw his eye twitch slightly before I bucked him on to Crescent Sun. Then I continued on to my post. When I made it to the throne I was met by a bunch of cold stares, which wasn't really out of the ordinary, but today felt different. Like every one was on edge. I even saw some quick glances from some of the exiting night guards. I was about to take my position by the throne when one of the other guards flagged me down. "Flash sentry, the captain has requested your presence immediately." "What does he want." "I don't know only that he requested you personally." I shrugged and went to the captains office. I opened the door to find captain Gleaming Spear sitting at his desk. He was a grey earth pony with a mustache and a buzz cut and he had like my grandfather's. I looked at him for a couple minutes before I cleared my throat to get his attention. "You wanted to see me sir?" "Yes, please come in and shut the door behind you." I closed the door behind me, sat in the chair and took my helmet off. "So what is it you wanted to see me for." He exhaled loudly and stood up and walked over to the window. "I've called you in here because you've been reassigned to princess Twilight Sparkle." "Sir it's not that I'm flattered or anything it's just why me, out of all the guards?" "The princesses want somebody they can trust to start princess Twilight's new guard and you were the one they chose." "Wait, what do you mean by trust?" "Look I'm not going to sugar coat it we believe there is a spy amongst us." My mind went blank as I thought on how did somebody already get caught. My first though was it was one of those idiots from gamma squad and their damn LAV. Then I realized we volunteered for this mission, but knowing this I still kept calm. "Any idea who it might be, sir?" "No, it's hard to tell what with all the new volunteers that joined after the changeling invasion a few months back. Also your going to have to pick two other guards to join you on this mission. And you'll be needing this." He handed me a dossier with all the details for this assignment. "Thank you sir." I began to get up out of the chair when I heard the captain shout. "Wait, hold on!" My body froze up at the thought I might have been caught. He walked up to me slowly. "Yes sir?" "I almost forgot to tell you your getting new armor when you get there, because the armor your currently wearing is faulty." he hit my armor lightly "Faulty?" "Yeah something about the armor's spell not working. Just don't worry about it." I left the room and closed the door behind me before letting out a long exhale. God that was lucky. I looked up at the clock to see that it was time for my lunch break. I began down the hall towards the cafeteria. I walked out through the lunch line to see silver scope and crescent sun sitting together at our usual table. I walked over to the table and sat down. "So how are you two love birds doing?" I said mockingly "We're doing just great, isn't that right Scope." she pronounced happily "Yep just fine. Hey Crescent can you go get us some more napkins." said Silver Scope "Sure thing." she gave him a kiss and headed off towards the lunch line. When she was out of listening range Scope started to get mad at me. "You are a dick and I hope you know that." Said Silver Scope angrily "Why what did I do?" "You forced me into this relationship." "I thought you'd be happy?" "Yeah I am, but I didn't want to ask her out like this. With you pushing me on her." "You needed a push, simple." "Yeah, but what do I do?" "What do you mean?" "Where do I take her and how do I act." "Just be yourself, take her to a nice casual restaurant and then take her to her birthday party. It's that easy." "Yeah that seems about right. Okay I'll do it. Oh wait here she comes act natural." Crescent Sun walked over and sat down next to Scope. "What were you two just talking about?" "Uuumm nothing. Hey are you ready to go?" silver scope said obviously trying to change the subject "Go? Go where exactly?" I said acting like I didn't know "He's taking me out on a date and we got permission to leave work early thanks to my birthday." "Yeah okay. You two have fun." Then it clicked in my head I forgot to tell scope that there's going to be a surprise party at Crescent's apartment. Really hope he doesn't think of trying to get laid at her house. Also I should ask them if they want to come with me to Ponyville to work as the new personal guard of princess Twilight. "Hey guys you want to..." And they were gone. Whelp better head back to my apartment and pack before the party.
The party(edited)I walked up to the home provided for me by the equestrian guard for being one of princess celestia's personal guard. Which I am forced to share with Ze for his, I want to call them experiments. His secret mission was to apparently study the populous of equestria and has now recently taken it apon himself to studymagic and potions. And I've been given the privilege of guarding him. I opened up the door and went inside. I took off my helmet and collapsed on the couch. I began to lazily take of my armor when I heard a gun go off in the basement. "Well it looks like I won't be getting any TIME TO RELAX!" I yelled intentionally to Ze. I got up off the couch and went down into the basement. I pulled the secret lever which moved the book case that hid a door. The door led into an old sewer system that led to a lake just outside the walls of canterlot. Which we converted into our base of operations. Complete with a firing range, lab area, garage(for the Humvee) and even our very own bar. I entered the room wondering what just happened. "Alright just what the hell are you doing down here. I looked down on the ground to see Ze holding his ears and lying on the ground with his gun a few feet away still smoking. A small amount of blood was flowing out of his ears. I pulled Ze to his hooves. "Alright Ze why did you fire your gun off." He looked at me in confusion. "What!?" "I said why did you fire your gun!" "There was a spider!" "Oh god dammit Ze not again! I know you have arachnophobia, but this is getting ridiculous!" "No this time it was different it was two times my size!" "Wait hold on let me get the potion." "What!" I walked over towards the table and picked up the potion. I walked back over to Ze and brought his head down to where I can poor in the potion. "Alright you know the drill this is going to sting a little." I quickly pored the potion into his ears and waited for it to kick in. "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH sweet Jesus that hurts. Aaahhhh why?" The potion sizzled in his ear until the blood stopped flowing. "Because that's what you get for firing your weapon without your ear muffs." "I hate you, thanks." "You know you shouldn't be firing your gun when not in the firing range, the neighbors are starting to complain." "Yea well they don't seem to come around now because of that dog of yours." "Hey scruffy is very nice, so leave him out of it. Besides I'll be leaving soon as part of a new assignment for the Equestrian guard I'm going to form princess Twilight's guard." "Dude no, you already managed to infiltrate Celestia's guard. Why do you even need to infiltrate another one." "They asked me personally, also they suspect there's a spy amongst them and I think one of our own might be compromised. And besides they're unsure who it is." "What! How were we already compromised. You think it might be one of gamma's. I mean they brought a striker through. I'm pretty sure that's not a stealth vehicle." "I know, but we shouldn't worry about it. Speaking of which how's your infiltration going." "It's going great actually. I managed to get a job as a professor of natural science at Canterlot university." "Good. Come on let's head upstairs." "Why." "Because thanks to you I'm not going to be able to pack up my things before Crescent Sun's party. So your going to help me." "Fine." We began through the door when out the corner of my eye I saw a silhouette of a large creature, but I ignored it and continued on my way. I arrived outside Crescent Sun's house with my gift. I reached for the door bell only to be interrupted a hoof. The hoof belonged to a large bulky earth pony stallion. He looked at me for several seconds with a scowl on his face, before talking in a very deep and intimidating voice.. "Alright just who are you." "My name's Flash sentry. I'm a friend of crescent sun's. We work together in the guard." He continued to stair me down until a frail looking bat pony mare with an even frailer voice walked over to us. "Oh stop harassing the boy brick. He's our daughter's friend so treat him like one." "You how I am with her and other stallions it's just that I don't want to see her grow up." "You have to let go she's a grown mare now let her go. Now come on let's go inside and---" She was cut short when we heard laughter coming from down the street. I looked out over the railing to just barely see Crescent Sun and Silver Scope coming down the road. "She's coming we got to hide" We immediately went inside and warned the other party members that crescent sun was coming and everybody hid. Though I felt like I forgot to tell them something important. Then it hit me that Crescent was coming with Scope and Crescent's overly protective father was behind me. But before I could act I heard the door slam open. With Crescent Sun and Silver Scope holding each other tightly and making out. I looked around and saw expressions of both shock and while others tried to suppress their laughter. Behind me I could see crescent's mom just barely contain Brick. I looked back to see Crescents hoof begin to go south and that's where I decided to stop it. "uuuuuuummm surprise." Their eyes opened widely as the lights came on revealing every pony in the room. They looked at the crowd their mouths hanging open. Scope was standing completely still while Crescent was giving the stair that her father was giving me earlier, only it was pointed directly at her dad who looked completely pissed at Scope. After a moment of silence Brick began to talk with his teeth gritted. "Crescent... sweaty please show your... friend the door please... before I murder him." In defiance of her father Crescent went up to Scope and kissed him directly on the mouth. Brick was about to lunge at Scope, but he was being held back by several of Crescent's relatives. "I'm going to find you little shit and skin you alive!" Just as Brick was about to break free a small hoof reached up on to Brick's shoulder and grabbed it tightly. Brick soon fell on to the ground completely knocked out. With Crescent's mom still holding on tightly to brick. "I'm sorry he got out of control like that. He usually doesn't get like that. Unless she brings home a date, then they run off." said Crescent's mom. "I'm sorry we didn't get acquainted earlier I'm Blood Moon." she extended her hoof to shake "uuuhh Flash sentry." I reached out and shook her hoof "Where exactly did you learn to do that?" "Oh before Brick and I met I was a part of the Equestrian special forces." Scope and Crescent walked over to what was now a completely knocked out Brick. "Thanks for taking care of dad and saving Scope. I can't believe this happened for the second year in a row." "It was nothing really." "At least this time it wasn't caused by an exploding cake." "Hey I thought you told me tonight more than made up for that." Scope said "It almost did, except I was hoping to go a little bit further, but you could make it up to me when every pony leaves." Crescent said with a smile "I'm afraid you two might not have time to do that." I said "Why?" they both said "Because you to are going to report down at the train station tomorrow morning for our new posts in ponyville. I was going to tell you, but you left before I could say anything." "So wait a minute you just want us to pack up and go." Crescent whined "Yeah, consider it a gift from me to the both of you." "Wait why did you even choose us." scope chimed in I handed them the dossier with all the mission guidelines. "As you can probably see the captain wanted me to choose two ponies that I trusted to take on this mission." Scope looked up from the dossier "So why choose us, we're not exactly the best." "Yes, but one you two are the only two guards I actually know and two I think the two-hundred pounds of muscle laying at our feet is reason enough, at least fore you scope." I pointed down at Brick's unconscious body. "Good point. And even knocked out I'm still scarred of Brick. I mean just look at him he's even more menacing while sleeping." said Scope "Oh that reminds me can you boys please put Brick on the couch." said Blood Moon "Yea sure. Alright Scope grab his legs." "Why me." "Because I'm your new commanding officer and I say pick up that stallion."
To PonyvilleI packed up my things and replaced my wing covers with a fresh pair knowing that it would be a while before I can replace them again. The purpose of the covers were to make our wings smaller, so we could blend in better with the populace. With out them our wings would be two almost three times the size of an average pegasus on this world. I still think the only reason I'm able to fly with such small wings is the 'magic' that flows normally through this planet. With these wings covers on the only way you could tell the difference between the pegusi from Earth and the pegusi from Equestria is that the pegusi from Earth don't have hollow bones or natural crash resistance, so if we crash we die. I turned to Ze. "Alright while I'm gone you're in charge of the house. Make sure to take care of the dog and when you can drop off the rest of my equipment in ponyville." "Yeah alright, can I go back to bed now." "Yeah sure just remember to bring my equipment to Ponyville." I made my way to the train station where Silver Scope and Crescent Sun were waiting. As I got closer I noticed how tired they looked. Though crescent looked slightly annoyed. "So you guys ready to get moving." "Yeah we are." said Crescent in a slightly cold tone Picking up on this I decided to act quickly. "Hey Scope you think you could go get our train tickets." "Uhhh yea sure." As soon as scope was out of ear shot I immediately began to question Crescent. "So you think you can tell me why you're so angry. Did something bad happen between you and Scope?" "No nothing happened... well nothing bad?" "So was he... you know 'small'." "No of course not he was actually very," she made a face that just screamed pleasure, "filling. And he's also very..." I cut her off before she could go into detail. "If that's not the problem then why are you so mad. And also I'm kind of curious, did you two had sex on the first date? Because it doesn't seem like either of you would do that sort of thing." Crescent sat on her haunches and put her hooves up to her face and began to cry. She began to talk through her tears. "You want to know why I'm angry. I'm angry because I recently learned I'm unable to have children. At first I thought my parents were joking when they told me when I was younger that I had a small chance of being able to reproduce. So I got anxious with him because... well Scope and I have been friends for so long and I've been trying so long. It just felt right." Her mood immediately turned a bit angrier. "And don't think I'm just using him, so I can have a child. I respect him too much to do that." I looked past her to see scope behind a luggage cart, staring at us with a neutral tone. "Then maybe you should go talk to him about it. Or don't and live too regret it. Either way it's your choice." I walked away from her and headed towards the train and signaled Scope to go over and comfort her. He then ran over to her. I sat looking out my window of the trains cabin at the passing mountain landscape out into the valley that housed Ponyville. Until I saw a figure of a pony out of the corner of my eye that reminded me of the same figure from the underground tunnels back at the house. I immediately turned around to find that the pony was gone. I quickly went out of the cabin to search for the pony that I saw. Only to find that the pony was gone. I knew from that moment on that some pony was following me. The train pulled into Ponyville station. Me, Scope and Crescent walked of the train with our luggage. Before we could react were greeted by a hail of confetti and a very pink mare that managed to, beyond all logic, grabbed all three of us and proceeded to throw us into a party. I looked all around now shocked by the events that just happened only too look up and see a banner the said 'welcome new guards party'. I decided to leave the party to go and find princess Twilight, so I could start my job. As soon as I began to leave the same mare that grabbed me and my friends jumped right on top of me. And began to talk to me in a very high pitch voice. "High I'm Pinkie pie and I would just love to welcome you to Ponyville. What's your name?" "Uuuh?" "Oh of course duh your Flash sentry. We met back in the crystal empire. Well not exactly met more like told about by my friend Twilight. Who you already know about. I mean she says she's not into you, but I personally think she's lieing. I mean it's kind of ironic that you're here because we didn't even know who was coming. Which makes this all the more exciting." I looked at her trying to comprehend what she just said. "Wait what was that last part?" "Oh you mean that part about..." Before she could finish she was cut off by an unknown mare. "PINKIE I think you've already introduced yourself to him. Why don't you introduce yourself to the other new guards." "Oh that's a great idea!" The mare who I now recognized as princess Twilight walked over to me while still looking at Pinkie pie shaking her head and without looking extended a hoof towards me. I gladly grabbed her hoof and began to pull my self up. "I'm sorry she just gets like that around new ponies." "It's alright all she did was push me down to the..." Before I could get up she let go of my hoof sending me back towards the ground. She looked down at me with a surprised expression. "Oh sorry about that." she said smiling while blushing slightly I got from the ground not breaking eye contact. "It's alright princess." We continued to awkwardly stair at each other for a minute until I decided to break the tension. "So do I start my job now or do I have to do some follow up with you." Without saying anything just walked of with the same expression on her face. As she was walking away I couldn't help but stair at her thinking "That was awkward."
old friends and new friendsI continued to stare at her until I felt a familiar hoof on my shoulder. I looked back to see Scope and Crescent looking at me. "You mind telling us what that was about." said Scope in an amused tone "I was trying to report our new post when I was attacked by... well I don't know what it was it happened so fast. When I met the princess and you know the rest." Scope and Crescent covered their mouths and tried not to laugh. "And what is so funny about that." "Oh nothing it's that you left out the part where you fell in what I hope is chocolate." said Crescent trying even harder not to laugh I looked back in horror at the big brown stain on my back armor. "Oh come on!" "He probably didn't notice it while he was staring at the princesses flank." he started to laugh again when he was silenced by Crescent punching him in his side. "Owww what was that for." "That's not funny and it's a very serious thing!" "Yea serves you right for laughing at me." I was then smacked outside the head by Crescent "Ahh what was that for." "That's for staring at the princesses flank. I mean how disrespectful can you get of a higher entity." "Hey I was not staring at her flank, and you two are ones to talk you don't even give me the respect I as your commanding officer deserve." "Well your not really earning our respect when you do stuff like stare at the princess's flank. Right Scope." "She does have a point you really should be more respectful to the princess. Besides rumor has it she's an insane genius who stocks children and casts spells on dolls just to study the effects. So you better watch what you say or you might end up being one of her experiments." I looked at Scope in disbelief "You know I doubt that because insane and genius have pretty much opposite meanings. She probably wouldn't even be a princess if she was crazy. And I don't want to continue talking about it. It's been a long strange day already and we've only been here for fifteen minutes. Enjoy yourselves." I started to walk off when I was tackled into the ground again by the same pink mare "Wait you can't go yet! You still have to meet the others." "Others?" "Yeah me and all of Twilight's bestest friends." "Great" I said sarcastically "now can you please get off of me" "Oh right sorry." I got up off the ground and looked at her in the eyes. "Okay so who do you want me to meet?" She then grabbed me, Scope, and crescent by the neck and some how in a blur managed to pull us over to an apple stand where four mares were chatting. One mare was orange with a long blonde main who looked like she was from a more rural area, another one was light blue with a rainbow colored main that looked like a rats nest and appeared to be very energetic, the next one was white with a curly purple main who was very attractive and well composed, and the last one was yellow with a long pink main who appeared to be very timid. Pinkie pie plunked us down in front of the stand and we were quickly noticed by the group of mares. "Hey girls" said Pinkie-pie "look the new guards just showed up." "Uh Pinkie pie we kinda figured that out when heard the music and cannon fire." said the orange mare behind the counter "Yeah, but I really wanted to introduce them personally to all of us." She then pointed at the mares and started to introduce them "So I want to introduce you to Apple jack." she tipped her hat to us "Might fine pleasure to meet ya." "Rarity" "Charmed I'm sure." I composed myself and replied "Hi I'm Flash Sentry and these two are Silver Scope and Crescent Sun." They started to exchange glances amongst each other accept for Pinkie pie who just standing there with a giant grin on her face. "Is something wrong?" "Oh nothings wrong it's just we weren't expecting you in particular." said Rarity "Yeah I think I can understand why that is." "You can?" all of them said in unison "Yeah considering I've only been a guard for almost three months, and that's including basic. And a third of that time I've been apart of Celestia's personal guard. Then out of no where I heard a familiar voice "Hey AJ where do you want me to put these extra apples?" "Just stack'em next to the stand." "Hey Ridge is that you?" I shouted "Flash? What are you doing in Pony ville?" "I was transferred here by the guard. To become a personal guard of princess Twilight." "And where's Ze?" "He's still back in Canterlot." "So what your telling me is you left Ze all alone back in Canterlot." I started to talk in code "Don't worry we still have some friends that can check up on him." "I see you two know each other." said "Yeah we're friends from along time ago. Whelp see you later Flash I gotta get back to work." When he was outta sight the girls started to talk again. "Sometimes I wonder Apple Jack how you managed to get your hooves on to another stallion as strong as Big Mac and might I say just as handsome." said Rarity "You may not, because it's very difficult to find a worker like him and I'd rather not lose him." "You know AJ it must be pretty hard trying to keep mares off both Big Mac and Ridge." said Rainbowdash "Yeah I gotta confess it was already a chore with just Big Mac, but now it's practically become my job. What with some mares trying to lure one them away every time I turn my back." "And what's so wrong with two them having a little fun." I said I then found myself being stared down by Apple Jack who looked very angry. "Look if you give them a bit of leisure time soon they'll want more and more until they stop working all together." she stated "You know kind of stupid right. Like your some kind of slave master. Come on guys back me up on this she's starting to scare me a little... guys." I looked back to see that they were gone and also Fluttershy and Pinkie pie were gone as well "Where'd they go?" "They left to go enjoy the party and if you don't mind me I think I'll go enjoy it myself." Rainbowdash said with a smirk "I think I'll go enjoy myself as well." Rarity then disappeared into the crowd "Well..." as forced as it felt "buck me." I then felt a cold painful smack across the face. "Oww what was that for!" I then collapsed to the ground clenching my face "That was for using inappropriate language around me." "What are you doing out here all by yourself Apple Jack." "I'm not alone and I'm teaching this here foul mouth varmint a lesson in manners." I then heard some hoof steps walk over to me "You know Apple Jack you really shouldn't hit some pony just because they say a bad word." I then reached out to gab the somewhat familiar mares outstretched hoof and pulled myself up off of the ground. I then took my hoof off of my throbbing face and looked into the eyes of my hero and current boss princess Twilight Sparkle. "Thank you ma'am for helping me." I continued to look into her eyes until I finally realized she was staring at our touching hooves and not moving at all. "Are you okay princess you seem a bit discombobulated. Hello." It was then that I saw at the last moment a familiar gray hoof grab the princess's back leg. Then the next thing I realized was the princess being thrown on top of me as I heard Scope shout "ha payback!" It was at that moment that my mind stopped as I noticed how attractive she was. If I hadn't been on a mission I'd probably would have been more easy going to the events that followed.
