The Hero Within

" I still can't believe we stumbled upon no Voidian or Sentinel. " Logan noted.

" I guess it doesn't matter. We're here now. " Luna stood in front of the big gates. They opened and revealed the huge royal library.

Guided by Luna and Celestia, the ponies reached the Starswirl the Bearded quite quickly.

" Now where could that box be hiding? " Luna wondered, as she searched the rows.

" Princess, this section is enormous. isn't there some kind of magic, that would help you locate the box? " Twilight turned to her ex- mentor.

" You're right, Twilight. " Celestia agreed.

The alicorn concentrated. Yellow oreol surrounded the princess' horn. Yellow flashes of light studied the shelves and the rows. Eventually, a small wooden box appeared in front of her.

It was a simple and ordinary box. Nothing special about it. No ornaments, no silver, no gold - nothing. The only thing, that made it clear it isn't somepony's forgotten lunchbox was the shining white seal on it's lock. The seal resembled a sun and a big alicorn stallion stood in it's center, spread his wings.

" Your father had a beard? " Scoot's comment broke the mystic athmosphere.

" It was modern back in these days. " Celestia replied and touched the seal with her horn. The seal changed it's colour to yellow and now Celestia's figure was in it's centre. The box's cover lifted, revealing an old piece of perchament.

" I'll take that, thank you very much. " a familliar voice spoke. Before anypony could react, the scroll was engulfed with darkness and vanished. After they turned around, they saw Hase standing on one of the long stairs, that were used to get books from the upper shelves.

" Such a small piece of perchament contains such a powerful spell, interesting. " the pegasus noted and touched the scroll. However, it emitted strong white light and burned Hase. Cursing, he dropped it onto the floor. Before he got it again, Celestia held it with her magic and tried to open it. At her wish the scroll slowly opened, revealing long lost words.

" Recipe for... " Celestia started reading. This was the wrong scroll!

" Looking for something? " the real scroll waved in front of Hase. Obviously he hadn't touched it at all.

One of Celestia's solar bolts flew towards Hase. Before melting in darkness, he threw the scroll away, only to catch it after he re- appeared right bellow it.

" You want it badly, huh? " he smiled.

" I must say, I'm dissapointed. I thought you were my friends, " he turned to Twilight, Rainbow Dash and the former Cutie Mark Crusaders " , but obviously, you aren't. Wouldn't none of you try to prevent them from melting me? "

" Hase, you're confused. " Twilight thought, that if Cadence had success with words, it was worth a try.

" The Voidians... aren't as you think they are. They want only destruction, since it feeds them. They won't just simply settle down. "

Hase thought for a second, and than came his reply:

"  Actually, most of them really are scum. But everypony deserves a second chance. I'll give it to them. But first... " a small portal to the Void opened and Hase threw the scroll in it. Before he could even hear Celestia and Luna's yelling and before their destructive spells flew towards him he teleportated away.

" It's useless. " Wanda held her head with her forehooves.

Everypony's mood was way down. They have failed. For Luna and Celestia it was even a greater failure, since they had lost the one thing, that had left from their father. Nopony, even Deadpool, found any use of continuing. The battle was lost.

' We were so close... ' Twilight thought. For the moment he was thinking what to reply, his mane had changed it's colour several times. And now he would find out about his mistake too late. By the time they returned his army would of destroyed Ponyville. Finally she understood why there were no Voidians or Sentinels - Hase had mobilised them in case the citizen of Ponyville attacked him . All of his Voidians were currently awaiting their main dish - Ponyville.

When nopony expected it, a thud was heard. When everypony turned around, they saw, that something big blocked the view of the night sky.

The group got out on the balconee. One of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s transport planes was waiting for them. The Helicarrier was waiting high in the skies.

Fury and Cadence got off the vehicle.

" How was it? " the director asked.

" He threw it in the Void. " Luna replied sadly.

" That's... not exactly the end. " another voice told her. Luna raised her head to see Vortex.

" We're going to bring in some back - up. " he grinned.
