Negi's Quest

Chapter 1: Finding new friends.

It had happened so suddenly to Negi Springfield.  One moment he was training against Asuna knowing that Evangeline, Chachamaru and Ku-Fei were watching the two train.  The next a portal comes and because he was too slow to close it was transported into Equestria.  Not only that but he had been turned into a Unicorn Pony.  After much reasoning he was certainly glad he was a Unicorn Pony because he was a Mage.  Right now Negi left Twilight Sparkle's house which as he left he noticed it was a huge tree that she had made a home out of.

"Alright Negi" Twilight Sparkle told him "Do you know what your friends look like?"

"I do" Negi admitted "But that was when we were human, if I'm a pony chances are they will be ponies too."

"I like your logic there Negi" Twilight Sparkle said.

"Well" Negi admitted blushing "I did graduate Magic Academy at the human age of ten years old.  And that was the quickest graduation age of any Magic Academy students."

"Wow" Twilight said then she continues "So what do you do for a living?"

"Not all humans are Mages and because of that a Mage has to learn to live with the humans that can't wield magic in secrecy.  Often a mage has to take up a job."

"So what do you work as?" Spike asked for Twilight Sparkle.

Negi answers "I work as a Teacher in Mahora Academy.

"WOW!" Pinkie Pie said "You must be quite a young teacher then."

"I am" Negi admitted.

Twilight Sparkle was now even more interested in Negi "So you teach other humans?  To do what?"

Negi answers "I teach English.  In the country I come from known as Japan the language there is Japanese but the unversal langauge is English so they needed an English teacher to teach the subject.  And where I do teach humans...My class is full of girls."

Spike looks at him " Class full of female students?  Boy that must be fun for you."

Negi sweatdrops recalling his first two weeks of his classes sense he first started working at Mahora Academy "Mostly for them."

Pinkie Pie turns "And I bet you say that because the girls are so hyped up that they have never had a child teacher teaching them before, that they totally swarm you and get mostly you into trouble with the other teachers.  Right?"

Negi was for once without words the Pink Earth Pony had gotten the details just right but he managed to ask out "Yes, but how did you know?"

"Just a hunch!" Pinkie Pie smiled.

Twilight Sparkle turns to Negi as the four are walking "Well I do see where being turned into a pony for the first time is confusing, if you and your friends were human.  But there must be someway you'd reconize them."

Negi eyes Twilight "Oh, I'll know Asuna-chan."

"How will you know her?" Spike asked.

Negi answers "Asuna-san is the only girl in the class that after schooling hours could kick me for having a spell backfire."

"You'll know her by her legs" Spike said shivering.

Twilight Sparkle thinks on something "Follow me Negi, we're going to meet Rainbow Dash and get her to help us find your friends."

"Alright" Negi admitted.

The two were getting towards a housing deparment made out of clouds.  Where a cyan fured Pegasus with Rainbow Mane and Tail appeared to be flying around the clouds.  Negi noticed that the Pegasus had a rainbow shaped lightning bolt coming from a cloud on her flank.

"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight Sparkle shouted.

The Pegasus hears her friend and looks down "Hey, Twilight!"

She flies down and sees Negi "So whose the new pony?"

"He's Negi Springfield" Twilight Sparkle answered "He was just transported into Equestria and turned into a pony.  He says there are three others that were with him.  Pinkie Pie, Spike and I were going to help him look for them.  We could use your help."

"Say no more!" Rainbow Dash said waving her hoof "I'll be glad to help."

She flies down to Negi Springfield "So any of your pony friends you want to try to find first?"

Negi pails a bit but he figured it was best  get the beating over with besides he supposed he needed Asuna-san first "Asuna-chan."

Spike turns to Negi "Isn't she the one that beats you up if your spell backfires?"

"She is" Negi admitted "But I suppose I should get it over with rather then later.  She may beat me up but she'll get over it after a while."

"Good point" Twilight Sparkle said "Alright, we'll try to find this Asuna first...But why do you call her Asuna-san"

Negi answers "In Japanese culture it's an hororfic and Japanese maybe friendly but always want the individaul addressed in an hororfic.  Chan or san are often used to address a girl."

"Oh" Twilight spoke "Well then let's try to find her."

The now group of five walked along way to a schoolyard which puzzled Rainbow Dash a bit "Negi, why do you want to check out the schoolyard?"

"We'll" Negi said "Spike told me that the school here has a newspaper.  Asuna-san in the early morning hours devlivers newspapers.  So I figured that sense the school has a newspaper, she'd might be here."

Rainbow Dash looks around "I don't see any pony here."

Suddenly a female voice  shouted "NEGI-KUN!"

Negi and the other ponies hear this along with Spike.  Negi looks around alertive "That was Asuna-san's voice."

Suddenly Rainbow Dash sees someone approaching speedily towards Negi "Some pony is charging you Negi!"

Negi and Twilight turn to see a pink Earth pony with one blue eye, and one green eye, her mane was red and pigged tail like.  Negi gulps "Is that you Asuna-san?"

"HERE'S A HINT!" the pony shouted getting closer to him.

Twilight Sparkle tries to hold her back with her Telekineses but strangely finds out that it doesn't work on the charging Earth Pony "WHAT?"

The Earth pony leaps into the air and Twilight tries again but gets the same result and the pony kicks Negi.  Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Spike hear something shatter and Negi goes flying onto his back dazed.  Negi shakes his head "Yep, that is Asuna-san."

Asuna is now over Negi glaring at him "Negi!  I don't know how you did this to me but I know you did it!"

She then notices Negi was also a pony then her glaring eyes narrowed "Negi...This is what could happen if you cast a major spell.  You've turned us into ponies!"

She was about to hit him when Negi speaks "Asuna-san, I didn't even cast a spell remember."

"WHAT?" Asuna asked "YOU DIDN'T?"

"No" Negi answered "and even if I did, I don't know a spell that can turn people into ponies."

Asuna remembers the portal closely "You're right.  It didn't give you time to unleash a spell."

She gets off him even helping him up.  Negi was still seeing stars but he thanks her "Thanks Asuna-san"

Asuna eyes Negi "You're welcome."

She turns towards Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Spike, and Twilight Sparkle, the last one litterally jaw dropping that her magic had no effect on Asuna "Hello you four, I'm Asuna Kagurazaka."

"Welcome to Ponyville Asuna!" Pinkie Pie announces "My name's Pinkie Pie!"

"I'm Rainbow Dash" Rainbow Dash said introducing herself.

"I'm Spike" Spike replied.

"And I'm Twilight Spakrle" Twilight replied introducing herself.

Asuna took the time to notice Twilight's expression "What's wrong?"

Twilight Sparkle answers "Just the fact that I tried to stop you from hurting Negi, with my magic and you weren't effected."

Asuna answers "Oh, that's puzzling you.  Well I'll say it now I'm a Magic Canceler."

Twilight's eyes narrowed a bit but it wasn't in anger just puzzled.

Negi explains "Asuna-san has a rare ability to negate any magic that is sent her way.  This being said, she's immune to all kinds magic."

"Wow!" Rainbow Dash shouted "That is so awelsome!  Can all humans do that?"

"Far as we know it" Negi began "Only Asuna can do that."

Asuna turns to Negi "So, Negi, what were you up to?"

"Finding you, Ku-Fei, Evangeline, and Chachamaru" Negi answered "I figured I could use your help."

"Well" Asuna began "I will help you, it is best we do stick together and I have the feeling I know where to look next."

"Where?" Twilight asked.

Asuna points one of her hooves towards the Everfree Forest.

"The Everfree Forest?" Rainbow Dash "You've gotta be joking-"

"Why?" Negi asked.

Spike answers "The Everfree Forest is unfit to enter, dangerous creatures live in there and hey!"

No sooner had Spike answered them about the dangerous creatures, Negi, and Asuna were off.

"You two are going alone towards the Everfree Forest?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"We are" Negi explained.

Asuna agrees "One of our friends would just love the Everfree Forest if it's full of creatures.  She'll love it, which is a perfect place to look at."

Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Spike, and Twilight Sparkle look at each other.  They all knew of the dangers that was in there but if one of Asuna and Negi's friends was in it, they had to look.  They soon joined Asuna and Negi.  They first stopped at an orchard and farm known as Sweet Apple Acers owned by the Apple Family.  Where Twilight Sparkle introduced her two new friends to an Orange Earth Pony with a blond mane and tail.  The Earth Pony had three red apples on her flank and wore a hat.

"Asuna, Negi, this is Applejack" Twilight Sparkle spoke "Applejack meet, Asuna Kagurazaka, and Negi Springfield."

Applejack shook the two new pony's hands "Well howdedoo!  We of the Apple Family love making new friends.  But what brings you here?"

"They are looking for three other friends" Rainbow Dash answered "And we're helping them.  Because they think one of their friends are in the Everfree Forest."

"Say no more" Applejack warned "I'll help ya search for the other three new ponies...In fact I think I seen one a while ago."

"Where is she?" Asuna asked.

Applejack answered "She went with my little sister and her friends the Cutie Mark Crusaders to teach them what she calls Chinese Marctial Arts."

"That is Ku-Fei!" Negi shouted.

"Come on Negi-kun" Asuna said "We've gotta get Ku-Fei to help us."

"Right" Negi agreed.

Applejack leads the group of seven to the area where they were just in time to see three fillies, one unicorn, one Pegasus and one an Earth Pony.  The Earth Pony was yellow, had a red ribbon attached to her red mane, and red tail.  The unicorn was grey and had a beautiful Mane and tail.  The Pegasus was orange with purple mane and a purple tail.  Alll three were exhausted with a brown Earth Pony with yellow hair and yellow eyes stood above them speaking up "Now that was just pathetic.  You ain't supposed to kick each other in the back of the head."

"Ku-chan!" Asuna shouted already knowing the voice of the Pegasus.

Ku-Fei turns her head "Why if it isn't Asuna-chan and Negi-Boyu!"

She rushes over to them and eyes them "So us humans turning into a pony happened to your two?"

"I guess it did" Asuna said "And I've already clobbered Negi thinking he done it.  Turns out he didn't."

"So you already knocked him a good one" Ku muttered "Although I suppose that would be your first reaction to this."

"Ku-Fei is it?" Applejack spoke.

"Yes, it is" Ku-Fei replied.

Applejack then asked her "Negi, and Asuna think two more of you maybe in the Everfree Forest...What is the possibilty of that exactly being true?"

Ku-Fei answers "Oh that forest where no one is to be in because of dangerous beast?  Well that would be a perfect place for those two."

"They would?" Applejack asked her.

"Oh yes," Asuna admitted.

"But those creatures in the Everfree Forest better wisely think on their actions" Negi spoke "Because knowing one...She'll make it fear her."

"We've gotta go rescue them then" Twilight Sparkle said and with those words the huge group left the Cutie Mark Crusaders whom were still trying to recover.

While the group left the orange Pegasus filly known as Scootaloo spoke "So much for the idea on getting our Cutie Marks in Chinese Marctial Arts."

Her friends Sweetie Belle the Unicorn filly and Applebloom the Earth pony filly all gave out groans.

Now Twilight Sparkle was leading Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Spike towards the Everfree Forest.  Asuna, Ku-Fei and Negi were alertive watching everywhere around them.  Preparing to defend themselves against the creatures that were in the Everfree Forest in the creatures attacked.  As they got there where Twilight and her friends were a bit creeped out, Asuna, Ku-Fei and Negi were not afraid.  At least not yet, the three newer ponies weren't afraid of monsters, but were going to be fearful of the other two friends they had.  The group enters the Everfree Forest looking around.

"I don't get it" Rainbow Dash said looking around "I don't see any pony.  Are you three sure your friends are here?"

Negi responded clearfully "Yes, I'm picking up a huge magical single."

Asuna nods her head "I sense it too."

Suddenly they heard a gentle shout "P-P-P-P-Please don't hurt me!  I beg of you I don't know how this happened to you two."

"That's Fluttershy's voice!" Twilight Sparkle shouted.

Asuna, Ku-Fei and Negi were now running.  They knew how dangerous one of themselves was when angered.

"Hey Asuna, Ku-Fei and Negi!" Spike shouts "Wait for us."

"No time we gotta hurry" Ku-Fei wared "Or your friend may die."

This got Twilight Sparkle and her friends "Why would someone want to kill an innocent pony like Fluttershy?" Rainbow Dash asked.

Negi answers "The same reason why Asuna pummels me for making a mistake with my magic."

Asuna eyes Negi muttering "That's one reason and the other...Well she's not one to talk to if she's in a bad mood."

They  got there just in time to see a yellow Pegasus Pony with a pink mane and pink tail.  On her flank was three pink butterflies.  The poor Pegasus was shaking as two shadows approached.  One was a black Unicorn with a blond mane and tail.  Her eyes is what gave her away.

The yellow Pegasus shook uncontrolably as the unicorn advanced and Twilight Sparkle certainly felt bloodlust in her.

"Please, I don't really know how you got here, or how you turned into a Unicorn Pony...Please don't kill me!"

The unicorn she was talking too seemed to not heed Fluttershy's plea "You expect me to believe that?"

The Black Unicorn raises her hoof and dark magic seemed to glow around her horn causing yellow Pegasus to plead "No please!  Please believe me!"

"EVA-CHAN!" Asuna shouted "STOP!"

The Black Unicorn heard her name being called and turns to see a faceful of hooves as Asuna kicked her.  The Black Unicorn goes flying laying on her back and rubs her swollen cheek "Asuna Kagurazaka...Only you would be able to do that."

Asuna eyes Evangeline "Evangeline, like it or not we all were transformed."

"We?" Evangeline asked then she eyes Negi Springfield, and Ku-Fei then sees Asuna's own Pony form "Oh, then."

"Why were you attacking our friend Fluttershy?" Rainbow Dash demanded.

"Careful Rainbow Dash" Negi warned "That's Evangeline A.K. McDowell.  She's what one will say an evil mage.  Get her angry and she won't think twice about not killing you."

Evangeline eyes Negi "True...and normally I'd be powerless, but this beautiful and wonderful forest which has given me my power back."

"What does she mean by she'd be powerless?" Applejack asked.

Negi answers "Long ago, before I was even thought of Evangeline met my father whom was known by all mages around the Earth as the Thousand Master."

"Thousand Master?" Twilight Sparkle asked then she smiled "And I'm guessing he was properly named."

"He was" Negi admitted "My father is known as the Thousand Master, the mage of one thousand different types of spells."

"Wow" Twilight Sparkle said once more admiring Negi "I bet you loved being with your father."

At this even Evangeline was silent.

"Was it something I said?" Twilight asked.

"It was" Asuna answered "You see,  Negi never really knew anything about his father.  Never even seen him, except for that one night."

"I'm sorry" Twilight told Negi.

Evangeline answered "The Thousand Master disappeared and no mage, not even myself has ever seen or heard of him ever again.  Although Negi-Boyu believes he is still alive and is always looking for clues to try to find him in his spare time."

"What connection does Evangeline have with Negi's father?" Applejack asked.

Negi answers "I can answer that one, she was saved at one point by my father and constantly followed him in hopes to be with him, finally my father fought against her but instead of truly fighting against her, he put a curse on her...Stripping Evangeline of her magical power to ensure that she could never use it to harm anyone again."

"And trapped her in her ten year old girl form" Ku-Fei said.

"But that doesn't make sense" Fluttershy spoke "I ran into her and another Pegasus that was serving her like a maid, but she unleashed a spell or two at me."

Negi perks up his head "That's because there are a few exceptions to my father's curse, on nights of the Full Moon, Evangeline's Magic returns for the full length of the night, another exception was during Mahora Academy's yearly school blackout-"

"And this forest" Evangeline interrupted "Seems to have the same effect on me as a nights with a full moon."

"Which is bad" Ku-Fei said.

Evangeline turns "I'm afraid I won't get out of this forest.  I could make a second home out of it."

"But Master-" Negi spoke

Twilight turns "She's your teacher?  I thought you said you graduated from Magic Academy."

"He did" Evangeline said "But the academy doesn't exactly teach him how to use his spells against an enemy that is like myself that want to kill him.  Sure they teach him magic but they don't teach him how to protect himself and fight off an enemy."

"But why her?" Spike asked Negi "Why not get another Mage that can teach you that, someone that's not her."

"To be fair" Asuna answered for Negi "She was the only Mage at that time, Negi knew and you think Eva-chan here wanted to teach him?"

"She didn't want to" Ku-Fei replies.

"Then what changed her mind?" Rainbow Dash asked.

Negi answers as he sees a Pegasus Pony with robotic like ears that was completely white and had a green mane along with a green tail.  Her robotic eyes sees him "I had to beat Chachamaru here."

"There is the Pegasus that was with Evangeline" Fluttershy muttered shaking.

"It's okay" Ku-Fei replied in a reassured voice which calmed Fluttershy down "Chachamaru here is actually a good friend.  Now where she obeys Evangeline without question, she's quite harmless and respects others.  In other words Chachamaru won't attack anything unless Evangeline gives her the order...Which could've been your case because of Evangeline's temper."

"I see" Fluttershy said.

Fluttershy got the surprise of her life when Chachamaru bowed apologizing for attacking her "Sorry."

Negi then fully explains himself to Twilight Sparkle and her friends "As you know Evangeline didn't want to help me improve my magic at first.  Instead I found Ku-Fei here and she helped me to fight in close combat and Evangeline decided to test my might against Chachamaru.  I had to face her and try to land 1 single blow to Chachamaru-"

"Hugh one single blow" Rainbow Dash asked "That's easy! I could do that."

Evangeline grins "I dare you to try it.  In fact I'll give you two hours to try it."

"Don't do it Rainbow" Fluttershy warned.

"I'll do it, she's just a Pegasus Pony" Rainbow Dash said flying towards Chachamaru.

"For now!" Twilight Sparkle told her friend "Chachamaru was once a human just like all five of these new ponies once were."

"Actually" Ku-Fei said "Chachamaru was a humanoid robot."

Rainbow Dash comes at Chachamaru lashing out kicks with her hooves but Chachamaru easily avoided the kicks.  Rainbow Dash comes at her with a tackle but Chachamaru dodged it easily by leaning backwards causing Rainbow Dash to hit a tree.  The Cyan Pegasus is shaken but gets back up "Think you're so tough do you?"

She comes back but this time Chachamaru is ready and timed it right punching out one hoof.  The punch connected to Rainbow Dash's chest and it caused her to back away only for her to face off against Chachamaru.  Two hours had came and Chachamaru had easily evaded or gently fought back against Rainbow Dash whom wasn't able to get one blow in.

"Impossible" Rainbow Dash spoke "How did she manage to dodge all my attacks?  I couldn't even lend one blow on her."

"If it helps" Asuna told Rainbow Dash "Negi wasn't able to ether until Chachamaru was distracted."

Negi then concludes his explanation "As you seen, my test Evangeline set me to was the use my martial art skills against Chachamaru and to try to land one blow.  That time it wasn't timed so all I had to do was get in one hit which came when she was distracted but that made Evangeline accept to train me."

"I see" Twilight Sparkle said she turns to Evangeline "Are you sure you want to stay here?"

Evangeline smiles "Are you kidding?  My power has returned if I stay here.  Besides it's probably for the best.  I don't get along well with others."

"But if left unchecked you could deal some serious damage" Asuna warned "You're coming with us."

Evangeline was about to say more when Asuna knocks Evangeline out with a kick "Sorry Chachamaru, we can't let Evangeline stay here."

"I understand" Chachamaru said.

The huge group left the Everfree Forest and met with the last member of Twilight's friends.  She was a white unicorn with a blue mane and tail.  On her flank was three blue diamonds.

"Hey Rarity!" Twilight spoke "These are five new ponies that were once human.  There names are Negi Springfield, Asuna Kagurzaka, Ku-fei and Chachamaru."

"What about the unconscious one Darling?" Rarity asked.

"Her name is Evangeline A.K. McDowell" Twilight answered "And she's sleeping because she nearly refused to come out of the Everfree Forest."

"She'll come around" Asuna muttered "But it'll be for a good thing."

"Let's get them to Sugar Cube Corner" Pinkie Pie said "They'll need a place to stay."

"Agreed" Twilight Sparkle said "If we are to fix this problem our new friends have and send them back to their home."

Negi turns to Twilight "Are you sure you want to help us?"

Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow, Rarity, Spike and Twilight Sparkle agreed together "Of course!"

"We wouldn't want you to think your on this adventure alone" Rainbow Dash said "Besides it'll be good to see what Negi and Evangeline have in terms of magic."

"Yeah!" Twilight Sparkle said she turns to Negi "You've gotta show me some of your magic.  I'll show you mine."

"Deal" Negi admitted "But."

Evangeline does come around "You had to drag me out of there didn't you Asuna?"

"It's for everypony's well being" Asuna told her "Sure that curse the Thousand Master put on your is activated once again but we don't want to hurt any pony as well."

Evangeline huffs muttering out in silence to herself "Speak for yourself Asuna-san..."

Evangeline then turns to the six ponies and Baby Dragon that had helped Asuna, Ku-Fei and Negi find them.  She now knew where Negi was getting at "I believe I speak for Negi when I say we'll accept your help, but please be warned it could be some sort of unknown Earth Magic we are dealing with here, meaning there could be an evil mage that done all this to us-"

"IF THAT WERE THE CASE THIS WOULDN'T HAVE EFFECTED ME!" Asuna snapped.

"You've fallen for that one trap with Kotaro and one could say it did have magic to contain you in that area" Chachamaru reminded Asuna.

"You do have absolute Magic Cancelation powers Asuna-san" Negi told his friend "But a strong enough spell that isn't directed towards us could possibly effect you."

Asuna has to admit that could've been the case.

Ku-Fei turns over to the six ponies and baby Dragon "So if you'd still want to help knowing the enemy might try to come after us to destroy us.  Then you're welcomed too."

Twilight Sparkle strokes her neck thinking "I'm sure I speak for my friends when I say, you guys need help finding out what spell is on you that not only transported you here but also turned you all into ponies.  And we appreciate the warning but we will help you."

"Well I guess if you know the dangers" Negi spoke "Then it's okay with us."

"Danger is my middle name" Rainbow Dash bragged "So which pony gets who?"

One-by-one Twilight Sparkle and her friends selected the other five.  Applejack took Ku-Fei, Rarity took Evangeline A.K. McDowell not knowing that Chachamaru would follow Evangeline as well meaning those two would be with her.  Asuna was chosen by Fluttershy and Negi was chosen by Twilight Sparkle.  Rainbow Dash was slightly depressed out that Chachamaru wasn't coming with her but respected the fact that once Chachamaru reminded her that she was a robot serving Evangeline.

Once this was settled everyone piled into Sugar Cube Corner to discuss their next moves.

Next chapter summary: After Queen Chryslasis captures Twilight Sparkle and her friends, Negi Springfield must lead his fellow human turned into ponies in a daring rescue mission to save them.
