The sun shone through the blanket of clouds. Big Mac wiped a hoof over his forehead as he tugged a plow through the churned dirt. He sank into the dirt every step. "Big Mac! You're done!" Applejack's voice called from the barn. The red colt was relieved and let his muscles sag. He waited for Applejack to run over and unhook his plow. "Yah did good, brother," Applejack murmured into his ear as they walked back to the barn.
Meanwhile, Fluttershy held a milk bottle to a cattle's lips. "Drink up, little one," the filly said in a sing-song voice. The cattle tugged on the bottle as Fluttershy whispered to the cattle.
"Fluttershy! Lunch!" shouted her mother, Parasol.
Fluttershy replied, "Just a second!" as the cattle sucked out the rest of the milk. Fluttershy trotted into the cottage and smelled the sweet smell of daisy salad. She pulled out a chair and struggled onto it. She swung her legs to pull herself in. "Mmm! Daisy salad!" She used the forks to scoop up a chunk of the salad and plopped it onto her plate. "Mama? Can I see Applejack when I'm excused?" Parasol smiled and nodded gently as she had a mouthful of salad in her mouth.
Fluttershy trotted out the door and shut it gently before she took off onto the path. She reared to a halt when she came to Ponyville and trotted to the center. She turned onto a rocky path and ahead of her loomed a barn. She gasped when an orange filly leaped out at her.
"Howdy, Fluttershy! Why y'all here?"
"I came to play and maybe help with the apple bucking."
"Ok! First, lemme introduce you to my brother, Big Mac. You might of seen him on the farm plowing. Mac! Come over here!" Big Mac trotted over from the barn and slowed to a stop.
"Howdy, I'm Big Mac," he said cheerfully to Fluttershy, a blush showing on his face. Fluttershy smiled and blushed as well, and she pushed her mane out of her face. Applejack smiled and giggled.
"Let's go buck some apples, shall we?" Applejack pulled her brother away from the stare he was casting at Fluttershy. Fluttershy trotted close behind Big Mac.
"Big Mac? Want to talk later?" Fluttershy asked quietly.
"Eeyup," he whispered as they headed to the field of apple trees.
Scootaloo slowly sucked on a straw in a juice box and sighed after removing her mouth. A brown colt trotted over to her, his mane raggedy and yellow.
"Hi there, Dandelion," Scootaloo shouted over the ruckus in the orphanage after taking another sip. The brown colt smiled and sat next to her, shifting uncomfortably. He murmured a hello under his breath. Scootaloo looked at him. "Do you ever wonder who you parents were?"
Dandelion nodded slowly. He looked over. "Do you?" he whispered, shyly.
"Yeah," Scootaloo murmured. The two sat in silence and looked at the ceiling. Scootaloo awkwardly jumped off the chair and crushed her juice box. "I'm gonna go throw this away outside." Scootaloo trotted outside to the trashcan and tossed it in. She headed for he front door but paused. She moves to a comfy area and sat snug in a mossy area, looking up at the clouds. The orphanage's ruckus was mute to her daydreaming. She sighed and closed her eyes, putting her head down.
