Twilight Sparkle struggles with the responsibilities of being a princess in Equestria as paranoia and hawkish attitudes drive the country towards insanity.
The goal here was to write a story about Twilight and Equestria dealing with a serious international and political crisis, and seeing how far characters would be willing to go to protect what they see as the ideal for Equestria to be.
