Prelude: Only One Shot

She lined up the scope, her target within sight. Not moving for seven days and nights for fine tuning and adjusting the extremely overpowered 1-620x10 scope, all that has led up currently to this starless night. The custom sniper that was triple the sniper’s sprawled out body, held the only bullet of its kind: a magic piercing, fire, ice, electric, and wind layered, 1.25 inch shot. The only sight in the current 600 power zoom that struck the eye was the silhouette of the kill.
Being eight kilometers away, it was difficult to accurately judge the wind speeds at various points, but she knew that only high winds could disrupt the course of her two pound silver coated, lead bullet. Unfortunately, such a wind could be seen over the expanse of trees as the tops bent to touch one another. She pulled away from the scope, not moving the sniper a single nanometer, knowing that she would have to wait another day.
Breathing slowly, she slowed her heart rate down to half the normal rate in order to conserve her already depleted energy reserves. Her over compulsive disorder caused her to count the days since her she started her career: 2992 days, 8.197 years. The time she knew flew past at a seaming blink of an eye, tagged along with countless memories.
‘She was following her father, who was several feet ahead of her. They tread in silence through the Everfree Forest, her father previously warning her to not make any noise. Being a green coated filly, she blended perfectly with her current surroundings. As the only child to her father, she was the heir to the version of a profession only practiced by him, a sniper assassin. The gun was slung over her father’s right shoulder, not in use yet as they still needed to travel a several hundred meters before they were to stop.
Still at the age of five, she was quickly becoming exhausted and she was forced to run after her father when he disappeared silently behind a curtain of ferns, a large gap already formed. In her rush, she forgot all about being silent and crashed through the undergrowth. She froze as her head poked out of the ferns, her father aiming the sniper directly at her. They both relaxed when he realized that it was his daughter.
They were not alone however, and that became evident when her father lowered his gun and several melding auras bound him, and she popped her head back between the ferns, a slim view of her father. Shortly after, five long blades pierced the body that held the sniper, continuing from flank to head, each carrying a pony on the end.
Time seemed to slow for her as the gun dropped. Seconds turned over and it hit the ground, a shout rang out from the filly as she broke cover and instinctively went for the gun, a habit engraved into her over the three years of memory she possessed at the time. Quickly adjusting it, she faced the surprised ponies and looked through the scope, leveling it at the head of the closest pony in near instants.
A shot rang through the forest and the head of the closest pony exploded as the bullet passed through from the eye to the back of the head, and grazed the pony behind. Bits of pink flew from the black covering that was ripped asunder from the head. The other ponies ripped their swords from the dead body, creating a zigzag pattern of cuts. The filly re-aimed at the next closest one, aiming for the heart this time.
Another shot was fired, the kickback breaking the filly’s right shoulder due to improper bracing, and sent her back several feet. This bullet went accurately through the second’s heart and lodged in the third’s spine, killing the second and paralyzing the third.
A sharp burning pain laced her flank, but it was ignored. A sharp pain was felt down her left foreleg as a blade sliced into it, causing a deep gash to form. She whipped the riffle around, hitting the pony who just cut her, in the face; the sniper fired as she pulled the trigger from the jolt. The fourth pony went down as the bullet went through cleanly.
She looked at the fifth pony who stood awe struck from his entire elite team being wiped out by a five-year-old. He bowed to her as she leveled the sniper at his head, fearful of death. There was a moment of silence before the final shot echoed through the completely quiet forest.
The sniper rested on the ground, and she laid there exhausted and starting to fade out from blood loss. A shadowy figure flew over her and landed before she blacked out’
She awoke from her sleep, night fallen once again, and the moon was lighting the motionless trees. This was the 2993 day since that memory was created. She breathed easy, knowing that her eight night wait was over. Looking through the scope, the image was the same that she had when last viewed. The same off-white pony with a four color, flowing mane and tail, and a sun cutie mark. She clicked the zoom further in, marking at each zoom, the point just below the horn, until the full view was taken by her head.
She pulled the trigger, and a deafening boom escaped the suppressed muzzle. The ground shook as 50 tons of force was exerted back, the bullet escaping the muzzle at Mach 2. Only seconds past before the custom, layered bullet hit its target, obliterating the scull of Celestia, and sent several magical waves of different elements to blow up the room.
A shadowy figure flew down and landed next to the assassin, who looked up.
“Mother, did I do good?” asked the assassin.
“How many times do I have to tell you, Sure Shot, I’m not your mother. Call me Commander of the Revolutionary Army, Luna. And yes, you did. I knew that, when I saved you 2993 days ago, when you got your sniper cutie mark, that you would be the one to initiate this revolution. I am proud of you, but I must disappear for a while. I leave you in command of the armies. Change this world Sure Shot; I know you can."
