The Beginning

Yes this is a real place and sadly a real story. I never wanted to tell anybody but I guess this is my only chance to tell the truth. If you don't believe this story, great, I wish I could be you reading this story just for a good scare. But me no I'll never live this one down.
It was a day just as normal as anyone would think, clear sky, warm weather, and a bus ride to a small town for us to explore and enjoy . As Rainbow, Aj and I stepped off the bus the guide warned us to not pass the orange line across town. He said that was a spot only locals were allowed to step and could be punished with community service hours. As we walked pass all the beautiful houses I noticed that every house had a pool. Maybe it was me just being an idiot and thinking that was funny from the town name but I smiled. Yet as we walked by the old houses that were broken as burned Rainbow pointed out that the pools in the back yard were perfect and clear. It looked like they were being properly taken care of in a great manner. There were no leaves in the pool, though it was fall and the leaves were falling (ha), the water was crystal clear, even a little rubber ducky was floating around in the water. But this was totally me being an idiot and over analyzing every little detail about the world around me. On the other side of the street there were quaint little shops with wooden carved signs with the name of the shops on them.
"Let's go into the candy shop!" Aj seemed to not realize all of the weird things going on.
As we walked into the shop the lovely smell of sweet sugar and maple syrup filled the air. It was a homely smell, like you had just walked into the wooden cabin that your grandparents lived in the woods. An old lady was sitting in a rocking chair behind the counter. She was knitting a quilt; it was bright red with tails of crystal blue stripes running through it. As the little bell jingled she look up and smiled, it was almost creepy how perfect this little shop was. I liked it though. There were rows and rows of candy lining the shelves, the candy was color coordinated and were in little jars. There was hard candy and soft chewy candy, there were boxes of bubble gum in every flavor you could imagine. There was one candy none of us recognized, they were in a small jar and looked like little cubes. They were labeled "Purple Hope". As I walked around the room I felt warm and cozy like nothing could go wrong on this day despite the weird pool incident…… The pools….outside the back of the store there was a pool……...no…….NO…..this was to weird, NO ONE has a pool behind a store...like ever...No one lived here either so it couldn't be a personal pool...no no no no no… I must be dreaming I told myself.
"Umm hey lady" the grandma picked her head up from looking at her quilt work.
"Why does everyone have a pool? Like even the shops?" I was worried now.
"Why are you asking now young lady?" she seemed almost mad.
"Because I just find it strange that everybody in this entire town has a pool…" I was now scared
"You really need to keep your nose in your own business young lady…" She seemed ever angrier than before
"I' m sorry (I wasn’t). Can I just get some Purple Hope candy?"
"Sure it's on the house"
Ok well that was weird, I wasn't expecting that after she was so snappy to me that she would ever give anything to me, even strange candy in a dirty jar. She pulled down the little jar from the shelf. The somewhat old lady was strangely nimble almost as if she had never aged at all. She packed up the little bag with a few of the candies and handed it to me. Aj and Rainbow smiled, they must have been happy to get the free candy. Yet none of us ever got to share our emotions as we popped the chewy candy into our mouths. It was almost too good, a sweet filling with a tangy outer layer that made your mouth tingle.
We woke up in a room, each of us were tied together with a thick rope. None of us knew what had happened , it had seemed like just a second ago we had been enjoying our candy. Nothing seemed happy anymore, it all seemed like a dream, but this was too far! A small door at one of the ends of the room was just beginning to open. Nobody talked, nobody moved, we just watched. A tall handsome stallion stepped out of the door. He was carrying a large black bag with a drawstring holding it closed. There was nothing in the bag, it just sat there on his shoulder. He untied me and picked me up, we was carrying me to a small table on the other side of the room that I never saw.
"You kids chose the candy shop didn't you?" he said in a sad voice.
"Yes, what are we doing here though?" I had to ask, why wouldn't I?
He shook his head and laughed regrettably.
"They always choose the candy shop. Kid you're lucky they didn't make you a local, you don't have to do horrible things your whole life till you drop dead." He seemed sadder than ever.
"What kind of horrible things do you have to do?" I knew already I shouldn't have asked this question.
"I'd rather not describe it and just do my work, you would've made a good kid" his eyes looked as if he was missing something .
He pushed me off the table and picked up Rainbow. He pushed her down on the table and strapped her down with metal clasps that were attached to the table.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!" Rainbow screamed as loud as I had ever heard her yell in her life.
"If you're quite this will be a lot easier for you and me, so shut up." the stallion said in a calm voice.
This shut her up right away, no one wants to deal with someone that has you strapped down. He pulled dover a cart, resting on top of the cart was a tray. There were knifes from the smallest size to the largest placed neatly on the tray. There were also various objects on the tray of which only a doctor could name. He picked up a small scalpel from the tray and dunked it in sterilizer. Picking the scalpel back up again he began his cut, starting in the middle of her chest down past her stomach then stopped. Me and Aj held each other tightly, if this wasn't a dream we had been watching our friend get cut up by a strange stallion. We couldn't talk and we couldn't look away, all we could do was watch. He left the cut there and went to grab a weird looking saw . He started to cut where the shoulder meets the arm and went back and forth with the saw. All you could hear for the time that seemed endless was a shrilling, cutting sound that was Rainbow's are getting sawed off. Rainbow's left arm hit the ground with a very soft bump. The stallion picked up the arm and set it were it should have been, yet it wasn't attached . He set a tube in the exposed and now bleeding shoulder. Blood started to run through the tube to a small box then a tube from that box ran into a large vat of what I could only assume was blood. I had been betrayed by this little town which i thought was so beautiful. But now its dark secret was out.
Author's Note
This story was actually an assignment for my English class, the original concept and town was based off of a class camping trip . The town Poolesville is a real town in Virginia that we drove through.
The Death Process Continues
The Death Process Continues
I never thought that things could get worse. No one ever believed that things could go wrong in our beautiful world, but they did.
The stallion continued the process of the killing. He went back to the cut on her chest, he made two incisions, one on the top of the original cut and one on the bottom. He now took Rainbows flesh and tore it open to create a window to her insides that were now barely working to keep her alive. She was alive though, her eyes were moving in all directions and her mouth was stuck open as if she wanted to scream but no noise would come out. As we went to make the first cut in Rainbows body, she flinched.
"You mustn't do that now" he stabbed her stomach.
He cut along where he made the stab and pulled the knife ever so carefully down to made a cut. You could see the stomach acid pour out as he began to open it. She was empty, all accept for the little purple candy that had gotten us in this mess.
"Jack, how are they coming along?
I knew that voice, I couldn't forget it. It was her voice the old ladies voice, the lady I thought was so kind, so innocent, and yet she was there, she was helping with this awful scene.
Rainbow's body way now still, it was as if she were a mere specimen in a lab in mid-dissection. The now named Jack began to tear out the different organs, he began
