Aquarius and Sea Salt

Previous Chapter

Oracle and Blue Spiral were walking around, with Sea Salt trailing behind them. Spiral bought Oracle a cotton candy, since she and Sea Salt had already had one.

"Try it!" she said. "I'm sure you'll like it!" Oracle took a bite out of it and instantly spat it out.

"Ugh," she groaned. "it's horrible."

"It's O.K.!" squeaked Blue Spiral. "I knew you would say that, just wait.. my fourth wall breaking and that cotton candy will help us soon!" She held out a hoof and waved it. Oracle quickly made a sicky face and stuck her tongue out. Blue Spiral realised the teeny mistake she made and pulled out a marshmallow.

"Eat it!" before Oracle could say a word, her mouth was full of sunset-colored goodness. "Don't ask, it takes a hell of a  lot of work to break the fourth wall." They came to the edge of Aquarius and looked over at the sunset.

"Wait.. I'm not a lesbian!" Blue Spiral quickly darted off and just left Sea Salt and Oracle together. Sea Salt sat beside Oracle, blushing.

"Sea Salt..." said Oracle dreamily, staring into the sunset. "...can you really hear? Is it some kind of trick to make sure people don't really talk to you?" Sea Salt dropped her head as if she heard what Oracle was saying.

"S-Sea Salt?"

Sea Salt dropped her head again, then quickly stood up and looked at Oracle.

"I cannot hear you," she said softly. Oracle looked at Sea Salt with a surprised looked. Her voice was like a baby's touch, the splashing of calm waves, silk on a spider's web...

...the touch of a fresh peach.

She didn't want to sound strange, but she muttered six words.

"Your voice..." she whispered. "...is like my mother's..."
