Trixalis's Tricks
The Party
Load Full StoryNext ChapterOutside, Celestia's sun was shining down fiercely, and it was a very hot and humid day. Inside, Trixie was gloomy. Since she was one-upped by Twilight, there seemed to be a dark cloud that, wherever she went, followed her. The sky blue unicorn was reduced to performing magic tricks at the birthday parties of colts and fillies.
"This is ridiculous. I, Trixie, shouldn't be pampering to these ponies," Trixie thought. "I should be on tour, performing my routine in every town of Equestria." It just wasn't fair.
"Behold! For The Great And Powerful Trixie is about to blow your mind!"
Trixie's horn began to glow in a bright blue hue and out came a few ribbons and balloons that seemed to dance in the wind. Nearby, the children started cheering. Their tiny minds were fascinated by the performance.
Hearing the adulation from the, albeit, tiny crowd, brought a grin to Trixie's face.
"Thank you one. Thank you all. For I, Trixie, can do anything with my magic.
The unicorn continued to perform for another hour, until the party came to a close. She was paid her bits and went on her way.
"Do you hear that, Twilight Sparkle? That's the sound of others cheering for Trixie!" said Trixie, as she walked down the dirt road.
She knew that Twilight wouldn't think it impressive that she became the magician for foals birthday parties, but still, Trixie didn't care. She had that, and the lavender unicorn didn't.
One day, Trixie would show that upstart who was boss. Luckily for her, that day was today.
"Well, well, well," said an unfamiliar voice. "I can see that you are also an enemy of Twilight Sparkle's. Perhaps we can team up and bring her down."
"Who are you? Show yourself!" Trixie demanded.
Feeling a tap on her shoulder, the unicorn whirled around to find a black creature standing before her. It had holes all over it's legs, green eyes, wings, and a black horn sat atop it's head. It was the queen of the changelings.
"You can call me Queen Chrysalis, and I assure you, that you can trust me."
"Why should I team up with you?"
"I nearly took over Canterlot with my changeling army, and, just like you, I despise that Twilight Sparkle. She and her friends cost me my goal, and I've been plotting my revenge since. I just so happened to be flying overhead, when I heard you mention her name. So, do we have a deal?"
Trixie pondered the proposal for a moment before extending a hoof.
"Deal."
The queen shook her hoof and a wicked grin came to her face.
"Excellent. I have some business to attend to at my hive, but I will contact you shortly."
Chrysalis flew off and Trixie continued her walk down the dirt road.
