Godzilla: The Void
Battra
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn the middle of a smoking forest, surrounded by a massive crater, a creature stirred. His carapace still smoking from the previous events, with black coloration, glowing red eyes, and a massive horn on his head, this was no native animal. The gold orbs opened, letting him take in his surroundings.
Forest...trees...urggh... There was a growl from behind the branches, but he missed it, not having full control of his senses. Then the beast stood up, regaining control of his body. The he noticed, the trees were not of his home world. And they were bigger than him!
Where in the... The growling continued once more, much more audible and closer now. Swinging his head around towards the source, he saw a brown head looking down at him. He only had time to jump back a step before the head tried to take a swipe for his face. Individual parts of his skull were bent outwards or caved in at odd angles. Two pearly yellow circles gazed back into his own eyes. Its mouth was drooling, bent on destroying whatever this strange creature was. It pressed the malevolent eyes closer to his face. On closer inspection, it seemed to appear that the monster was crafted of wood!
Wood...it can burn, right? Suddenly an evil glint spread into the eyes of the kaiju.
Stand BACK!!! Suddenly the tip of the central horn started to glow, then started to burn with electricity and pure hatred. The light fused into a glowing ball that hurled itself at the hapless timber wolf. As soon as the light made contact with the being, the dried-up parts of the branches caught fire, igniting the wolf. Its pain didn't last long, though. As the rest of the energy collided with the timber wolf, it shuddered, then simply exploded. Various types of plant were scattered across the forest in a blazing inferno. As he watched the show before him, he let out a massive screech.
I AM BATTRA, DEITY OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION!!!!! FEAR ME!!!!! He heard rustling coming from the bushes to his right. He looked to the side and saw two dots of blue emerging from the darkness.
Another challenger?, he thought. He considered either chasing off the being, or completely annihilating it. Seeing how his previous adversary was not a very nice inhabitant of this planet, he went for the latter. Charging up his horn to full power, it was kill first, ask questions later.
WAIT! A VERY familiar voice echoed through his head. The blue eyes waited there in the bushes, cowering down in submission.
You wouldn't hurt me would you? He now recognized the owner of the voice. She had fought beside him in battle with Godzilla, so many years earlier. Quickly he powered down his horn.
Mothra?
