An ordinary day

It was a beautiful sunny day and everypony in Ponyville went on about their day. The pegasi would do their usual jobs of keeping the skies cloud-free. All the little fillies and colts were still in school. All others could be seen playing in the park or in the fields, socializing with one another in the town square, or doing some shopping at the marketplace.

All the while, Pinkie Pie was bouncing along through town, making sure everypony had a smile on their face. Why? Well because she loves to see you smile and will do anything to make you grin. After a while, she decided to stop by Twilight’s library and pay her friend a visit.

The hyperactive pony bounced over to the massive tree-like structure and knocked on the front door, smiling as always.

“Knock knock! Twilight? You home?” she hollered, unsure if the purple Alicorn was inside or not. There have been many times where she’s visited and Twilight was elsewhere, usually out studying.

This time, Twilight was inside, opening the door to see her friend. “Oh. Hi Pinkie Pie.” Twilight greeted with a casual smile.

“Hi Twilight! I was just in the neighborhood and i thought i’d stop by and say hi! Mind if i come inside?” she asked with a wide and happy grin.

“Well i’d be happy too but I’m a little busy at the moment. Princess Celestia wants me to write an essay on things that I could do to become a successful ruler.” she explained.

Pinkie’s smile never faded as she nodded understandingly. Being the new princess of equestria must be an important job and Twilight needed to get her work done if she was to be taken seriously as a ruler.

“Oh. Well that’s ok! Saying hi is good enough for me! Maybe i’ll come back when you’re not busy! See ya!” and with that, the frizzy-haired earth pony bounced away. Perhaps her other friends had some time to kill.

Unfortunately, Everypony was busy.

Pinkie’s usual happy bounce was now a more disappointed trot. Later that day, she found herself sitting at the edge of the Everfree Forest. She sighed, having nothing to do.

“Bummer. Looks like everypony is busy with something! Rainbow Dash has an important meeting at the wonderbolts academy, Rarity’s busy with her dresses, Fluttershy’s out on a picnic with Angel bunny, and Applejack’s busy harvesting apples! What is there to do?!” she fell backwards onto the grass, groaning. “If only there was something fun to do!” she pondered as she stared up at the sky. Then it hit her. “I could go see if Zecora needs my help with anything!” she exclaimed before hopping back up and starting her trek through the dark forest.
