Chapters Fly Me To the Moon
Chapter 1
It was late afternoon, Applejack was out of the house, Apple Bloom was out with the other Crusaders, Granny Smith was taking a nap, Big Macintosh was laying in his bed listening to his inermost thoughts. As shy as Mac was he hated the silence of an empty house, the scilence truly was his one great fear. Leave somepony to their self and they realise how pitiful their life can really be. Big Macintosh wasn't much of a socialite but he was quite the talker when he was alone. He began to roll a cigar to the best of his hooves ability, "Ah really need to git out there more." he said, of course being left to nopony but himself and Miz Smartypants he felt more alone than ever. It was about four nights until Nightmare night. He heaved a heavy sigh, "Ah wonder if that Fluttershy filly Applejack hangs around is availible.". As the sun began to set and Luna's night began he saw the beauty that nopony else could. The darkness of night was beautiful to him. Being that he was so simmilar to it. Misunderstood, quiet, peaceful, he gazed out of his window and rested his head upon his hooves. Then he pulled out his matchbox and struck a match to light his cigar, after which he proceeded to pull out his journal.
'If only there was a mare as beautiful and calm as the night sky, maybe I could court her in a more gentlcoltly way than most other stallions. More and more chivalry seems to be leaving us. Nopony really cares about romance anymore, or for that matter respect.'
He looked down from the window to see Rainbow Dash stealing apples again. He could really care less about somepony taking a few apples though. He puffed on his cigar some more. Unlike most ponies thought the workhorse was quite cultured in comparison to most of the folk from town. As the stars shone through the sky he wondered if maybe there was somepony for him, out there, not in space, but somewhere in Equestria. When his Cigar was close to finished he put it in his ashtray and flopped back on his bed. Looking up at the ceiling made him wonder even more about love. What it is, why he hadn't felt it, with the exception of family love, Big Mac wanted romance in his life.

Luna was out in the Canterlot gardens waiting for Celestia to return home from raising the moon. However as she strode amongst the flowers she thought to herself about the love she once had, long, long ago. She used her magic to pick a rose from a bush, she looked at it for a while and cast it away, as she began to cry over her loss she found herself wanting more than was in the castle walls for her. "I know what to do, I shall return to the town where the elements reside and find more friends there. " she pictured a large handsome stallion with a heart bigger than his muscles, he wouldn't have to be handsome, just somepony to talk to, perhaps somepony to-.
"Luna , I see we've been wandering the garden again. Have anything you want to share?" Celestia asked with a grin.
"No, sister" Luna said with a sigh, in truth she wanted to tell her everything. But she reluctantly held back the well of emotion. She continued her stroll through the garden, silent and uninterupted, with the exception of the animals at play and the thoughts screaming in her head at the realization that she really had no friends other than her sister left. 'Why must I continue to be alone?' she thought
Another voice entered her head,
"You don't dear, you choose to stay here by yourself" it was the ghost of Nightmare Moon, however evil she seemed upon her return, this was a new maiden with a heart of gold.
"Well then why do I stay here?" she continued.
"I think you mean we dear, I go wherever you go, as to why you stay here. Is it perhaps becasue you fear the world has changed too much?" the intuitive Mare in the moon asked.
"Perhaps...but even so why do I fear thechange so much?"
"Becasue you think that our subjects will still fear us after the incedent?"
"If they fear us then what could I do to change that?"
"Be kind and considerate, as well as giving them time"
"Well if you only know as much as I do, then why haven't I thought of this before?"
"Because it took that rose to remind you of what true compassion is."
It was quite sad that the Princess in all of her wisdom needed the simple reminder that was offered by an inanimate object. But what Nightmare Moon said was true,
"And what if I could find a true gentlecolt? Like the ones we had during our time?" she "said"
"Then he would be one worth keeping, no?". The deeper the conversation went the more Luna thought she was going insane. However there was no manifestation of said Mare in the Moon.
"Why am i only hearing you now?" Luna continued
"Because you are only needing me now. I think I can help you if you find the right stallion."
Luna chuckled a little, 'And when I do he will be mine forever'.

Chapter 2
Nighmare night day, Luna was in the castle, to be more exact her personal chambers, preparing for the journey to Ponyville. She was exited to finally get out of the snooty Canterlot atmosphere and go see some old friends, or rather someponies she hoped would be her friends. However in truth Luna would be happy if anypony wanted to befriend her. The two palace gaurds that were going to take her to the rural town were getting into their new suits of custom made Lunarian armor, which was basically the regular gaurd aromor painted black and given some spikes for effect. They also took the liberty of painting themselves black to enhance their "dedication" to the night. Everypony else in the castle was making preparations for the midnight feast. Luna hated the idea of a feast in her honor, but she agreed to go along with it. She was brushing her sparkling blue mane, the images of stars plastered throughout it's entirety, however she was troubled yet again by her intruding sister, "So how's my baby sister? Getting ready to make an impression on the citizens I see?" Celestia inquired, to this Luna simply gave a sigh, "No sister I want to find some friends, perhaps your student ms. Sparkle could help me?" Luna hoped for a decent answer.
"Help how exactly dear sister?"
"Perhaps announce that I'm going so everypony won't be too scared when I arrive?"
"Well I suppose an announcement is in order, alright I'll send a message through to Ponyville about your arrival." Celestia then began to regally stride out of Luna's chambers. Once again leaving the Princess of the Night to her own thoughts. She considered all that had to go into this night, between her first impression on the townspeople, her own outfit for the night, or perhaps she didn't want to wear one. "So much to think about" she said to Nightmare Moon
"Yes indeed there is, especially this stallion you've imagined. What if he isn't there, or for that matter in existance?"
"Well then I suppose we will have to settle for less."
"For a Princess you really know how to act like a peasant. Settle for less, bah, next you'll be saying that we're going to these Ponywood premiers in skimpy skirts.The thought discusts me."
Luna gave a bit of a chuckle, "Am I crazy, I know I'm just talking to myself but I feel like your here with me."
"Well, crazy is a bit overdone. I am part of you Luna and because of that I will always be here. As I said before we are one." The midnight maiden said looking down to the lunar princess. Then she began to sing:
'As you go through life you'll see, there is so much we don't understand
And the only things we know, is that things are bound to change with the way
But you'll see every day, that we will never turn away, when it seems your whole life comes undone.
I will stand by your side filled with hope and filled with prid, we are more than we are, we are one."
Luna then began to chime in herself.
'If there's so much we must be, can I still just be me, the way I was. Or was that all just a part, of some big plan?'
'Even those who are gone, stay with us as we go on, our journey has only begun,
Tears of pain tears of joy, one thing nothing can destroy, is our pride deep inside, we are one."
Luna looked up and saw the manifestation of her former self looking right back, a ghost of her former self, literally.
Big Macintosh was also preparing for Nightmare Night, his costume was simply a black robe and some eye paint, also black, as well as a worn out top hat. His robe had a skeletal Apple on his flank. Of course all Big Mac ever did on Nightmare Night was pull the foals around in an old applecart. It really did save the town sometimes, most of the ponies asked to be ferryed home after long nights of binge drinking, and most of them payed quite well for the service. And for everypony he pulled home the mayor would throw in two bits. As he trotted down the stairs he saw Applejack in costume, a scarecrow, again, but for a family on a budget it really was a good costume. Apple Bloom was already out with Granny Smith, giving Mac the perfect opportunity to ask about AJ's friends. "Hey sis,"
"What's up Big Macintosh?"
"Ah' was wondrin' if ....well if any of yer friends are, availible?"
The gesture shocked Applejack, "You feelin okay Macintosh? Ah mean you've never once mentioned anythin like this before."
"Yeah sis Ah'm fine, I jes realized how much ah need somepony to... well ye know... love."
While Macintosh was normally calm and collected he was now beat red with all the blood in his face making him appear more red than ever.
"Well Macintosh all ma friends are 'available, jes not....well really yer type ah think. Well Fluttershy seems to be like you, an she sure does seem rather quiet like ye. Ah kin see if she'd go fer it, jes don't get yer hopes too high." she said. The thought of his sister going to the timid mare asking if she'd date him made him chuckle a little.
"Alright sis'" he said.
Fly me to the moon- Chapter 3
Applejack was trotting into Ponyville to look for Fluttershy, the timid pegasus was likely to be somewhere with Rarity, after all they are BEST friends. Despite their indefference when Fluttershy was modeling for Foto Finnish.
'Oh Gosh, what if their at the Sa-lon' she thought, shuddering. It wasn't long before she saw Fluttershy in the market, probably purchasing fruits and vegetables for her plethora of animals. Applejack rehearsed what she was going to say in her head. When she finally had the right words for the job she went over to Fluttershy and said.
"Hey Fluttershy, How'd ye like a date with mah brother?" Applejack said quite fowardly. Fluttershy, not used to anypony being so foward with her nearly fainted.
However she did manage to say, "Applejack, this is so sudden...no, I'm sorry but I'm just not into that kind of stuff."
Applejack looked stunned at Fluttershy, "What kinda 'stuff' are ye talkin bout exactly?"
"Stallions....." she said.
"Ye mean yer....."
"Yes, I, Fluttershy, am a fillyfooler." she said dropping her head "And I love Rarity"
Applejack's eyes opened wide,"RARITY?!" she exclaimed "Ye, mean t' say that yer visits to the spa have been-"
"Dates, yes, I'm so sorry Applejack, your brother really is the nicest stallion I've ever met, but I'm in love with Rarity."
"That's fine sugarcube, I hope you and Rarity are happy together. Hope ye have a good nightmare night."
"Thanks for being so non-chelant about this Applejack, and if you could, tell everypony not to come to my cottage?"
"Sure thing sugarcube."
Big Macintosh was preparing his outfit to look a little more formal (AKA, a top hat) when he saw AJ coming up the road. His entire body was now pouring sweat, and the suspense was killing him. He rushed out to the dirt path where a downtrodden Applejack was deciding how to break the news to her hopeful brother.
"Sis, what'd she say?"
"Erm.....well....-"
"She said no didn't she?"
"Well, yeah, but she did say that you were the most chivilrous stallion she'd ever met." she said to lighten her brother's now depressed mood.
"Well, chivilry ain't gonna get me a marefriend." he said kicking a pebble with his gargantion hoof
"Now come on Mac, there's plenty more nice fillies fer ye to meet, ye jes gotta find em!"
"None 'round here there ain't"
"Now Macintosh, she was only the one outta ma friends that I said, Ah'm sure there's plenty more out there."
Big Mac pondered this carefully, "Well no use mopin round here."
"That's the spirit! Now git out there and find yerself a nice filly."
Luna's entrance was to be the grandest of any festival's in Equestrian history, her long black robe, her custom made chariot and armor for her escorts. Even the weather was going to be perfect for the entrance.
"Everything is ready princess." A gaurd said to her
"Good, I shall be down shortly" the princess of the night said with a grin.

I know you were hoping for a bad date with Fluttershy, but I couldn't just let the fact that neither Rarity or Fluttershy were in the Luna Eclipsed episode escape the story, next chapter will be after the episode is over.
