Fate is Cruel
Chillin on the beach
Load Full StoryIt was a mild day in Cleveleys, which was right on the coast North West of England. Well you’d be lucky getting a sunny day in that wet bog of a country. No lie about England getting constant rain on most of the week but I’m proud of it. I’m happy to live here, yeah you get the occasional person trying to be ‘hard’ just to impress his/her friends but isn't that everywhere though. Still I’m getting off topic I apologize.
Our story begins in March near the Beach. The clouds covered up the moon making it impossible to see it but at least it wasn't raining, so that’s a plus. No wind was present either and the sea was out. Not many people were on the sand after 7 pm save for 2 teenagers who were walking up the beach. “What time is it?” asked one of the teens. This one had Brown hair, which went past his ears with blonde highlights. He wore a black shirt with tribal markings in white on the front. Dark blue jeans covered his legs with Black trainers with ‘No-fear’ writing on them. Over his shirt he wore a simple thin zip up hoodie where he folded the arms up to his elbows exposing his bony wrists. His body had a fair bit of muscle but still showed him to be slim. At the age of 17 his height was average even if he was slightly underweight. He also wore headphones which were hung round his neck since his taste in music he simply couldn't live with out. Rock and Metal was his genre and he wouldn't change it. He was fairly average in his work and got average test results. He had friends who he could count on and he never turned down a mate in need. He was always there for yeah. Lewis Evans or ‘Lulu’ as his friends called him led a happy life.
“Nearly 8” This voice belonged to Chris Walsh. The two teens both met up at high school where there love for video games became greater and so their friendship. After that they both went to the same college despite Chris being a year older then Lewis. Chris had more muscle then Lewis and was bigger by a couple inches in height. He didn't go gym but on his holidays he did go hiking a lot around the world. His hair was past his neck and down to his shoulders, which was black. On his person he wore black jeans, white and black trainers. He also wore a plain white shirt, which was covered up by a thick black coat that was rare to see him out of it. Chris put his phone back in his pocket.
“Well I gotta get back at 10” Lewis said whilst throwing a stone at the sea making a splash.
“No worries” Chris nodded in response. He was leaning back on the stone steps that sloped up towards the town center.
“Hey any flat stones near yeah?” Lewis turning around and began walking to Chris.
“Er.. Yeah” He spotted a smooth stone and threw it at Lewis that he caught with ease.
“Nice” He walked to the edge of the beach and threw it making 4 skims before sinking.
“Good stone” He walked back to Chris and sat beside him leaning back on the steps.
“You doing anything tomorrow?” Chris spoke.
“Yeah, going to my Aunts to help with the packing. She’s moving to Kelvin Road”. Lewis rubbing his eyes.
“That’s round the corner to you, aint it?”
“Yep” just before Lewis yawned.
“God I’m tired”. Chris took off his backpack and unzipped it.
“I've got the right medicine for yeah Lulu” Lewis arched an eyebrow
“Eh?” Chris turned with a bottle of Baileys in his hand.
“Nice one” Chris unscrewed the bottle and drank a mouthful before giving it to Lewis which he did the same.
“Love you Baileys” Chris speaking then turned to the sea.
“Mmm” Lewis putting the bottle to one side showing a quarter of it gone. They both watched the waves calmly splash the shore whilst drinking the drink from heaven. It soon became past 9 before they finished the bottle and Chris put in his bag. “Cheers Chris, been a while since I’ve had that”
“How long?”
Lewis scratching his chin thinking,
“When… we had that party at the field”
“That long hey?”
“Yep”
“Wow that’s a long time kid”
Both Chris and Lewis looked at each other in a confused manner then turned around to see a dark figure standing above them looking down at them with a creepy smile. The top part of his face was covered with a black hat whilst he wore a dark overcoat and wore a pair of black formal shoes with his hands in his pockets.
“What?” Lewis asking.
“I saying it was a long time ago child” the stranger spoke in a cheery voice. Both the teens were looking at him obviously not trusting this guy.
“Nice to know” Lewis glaring at the man.
“Look what do you want?” Chris spoke.
“Hmm?” The man now scratching his chin still keeping an eye on the teens. Lewis didn’t like this guy one bit and he started to feel uneasy about him.
“Ah I know. I have a, rival shall we say, that her and me always fight and mess up each other’s lives. Well last time she did something to me which scarred me in a way so now it’s my turn, but I need some help.” Chris was thinking of how quickly he could get some help to deal with this guy but Lewis decided before Chris could respond by playing along.
“What kind of help?”
Chris looked at Lewis with disbelief but Lewis paid him no look.
“Well all I need to do is mess up her … station and what better way then two teenagers hmm?” He announced to the teens with open arms for a dramatic effect.
“Riight and what’s in it for us?” Lewis answering for them without giving Chris a say.
“I am a man in high places so I could get you anything within reason” Before Lewis spoke Chris pushed his head closer to Lewis and whispered in an annoyed way
“Lewis what the hell are you playing at?” Lewis rolled his eyes to this
“Just havin fun with this guy, don’t worry” he whispered back. They turned to see the man leaning on a silver cane. Chris and Lewis didn’t notice him having one before so where did that come from. Lewis just shrugged whilst Chris started to check around their surroundings.
“Suppose some money would be nice I guess” Lewis asking to the figure.
“Ah fair enough, I think you’ll enjoy this deal” The man walked down the steps towards the boys. Chris got up and put his shoulder on Lewis whilst Lewis sat down keeping his cool. The man opened his overcoat and pulled out a white envelope and handed to Lewis that he accepted then studied the envelope that he felt something bulging out of.
“There will be instructions as to what you have to do, now enjoy your life young ones” The man then turned and walked up the stairs leading to the town center. When he was out of sight Chris ran up to question him but when he got up he disappeared. He turned his head left a then right to see no one there. This spooked him to the core.
“What the hell?” Chris walked back down the stair to Lewis. Lewis opened the envelope to see several bank notes, a letter and a black ring. Lewis looked up to Chris and gave him the letter whilst he kept the ring in his hand. Lewis was counting the notes and believed that the stranger was an idiot but he spoke true to his word. Chris was confused with the words on the letter as all it said was put the ring on and say ‘Equestria awaits.
“Chris theirs like £200 in notes here” Lewis says then looks at the ring.
“What’s this for”
“Says here to put it on and say ‘Equestria awaits”. Chris reading the note again looking to see if he missed anything.
“What’s equestra?” Lewis questions,
“I dunno, this is weird”. Chris says.
“Who cares we got £200 quid for doing sod all and who knows we might get more if we put them it on and say them words” Lewis happily replying.
“Well, the money is nice, even if it’s a lot just for this” Chris pointing to the letter.
“True, tax doing it”. Chris looked him
“ok then”. Lewis then put it on his finger. Lewis stood by him grinning.
“You ready?” Lewis says. Chris nods and then looks at the letter again.
“This is stupid” Chris says shaking his head.
“Who cares?” Lewis says waving around and true, no one was there besides them.
“Alright then, you know what to say?”
“Equestria awoke?”
“Equestria awaits”
“ah ok, ‘ahem’ Equestria awaits”
After ten seconds they looked at each other and shrugged.
Chris looked at the time and found it to be 10:16
“Er Lulu, it's a bit late” Chris showed it to him
“Crap I gotta go. Ill see ya round” Lewis walked off knowing well that running wouldn’t make a difference anyway. He put his headphones on and started to look at his iPod.
“Hmm I fancy some heavy” He picked his genre and ‘Motionless in White, Infamous’ came on.
“Nice”. Chris saw Lewis walking off whilst head banging slightly.
“Hehe in a bit Lulu” and began his journey home too. Whilst they walked they didn’t know that a pair of eyes was watching them depart off from a distance.
“Hehe enjoy Celestia”.
By the clock at midnight Lewis had hit the sack and was sound asleep not knowing what the black ring was capable of. The ring glowed a clear white in the darkness and covered the wearer with a thin glow. Lewis did not wake up as he was blinking in and out of existence. Over the course of 6 seconds there was no trace of him.
Elsewhere:
It was 7pm in Equestria. A lone lavender unicorn with a straight purple mane and tail that had a single highlight of pink was reading her newest copy of ‘Nature’s Blessings’ that had arrived. She just started to read it after the mail mare ‘Ditzy Hooves’ accidently misplaced the library for Sugarcube Corner and so Pinkie pie came round with the parcel. The book was about how Nature worked and gave a very scientific view of it. Of course Twilight Sparkle was pleased with the book as she enjoyed a good book for her tastes. She was reading the 5th page just before she felt a sudden magic outburst. She looked up puzzled and looked out the window at the direction of the outburst. What she saw shocked her. Over the everforest which was wide known for being unnatural where the weather took care of its self and so did the animals was what appeared to be tornado swirling deep in the everfree. Twilight looked at it in awe, as this was the first time she saw one but what caught her attention was that it was a bright red one. She just couldn’t contain her excitement anymore and quickly ran upstairs to pack for her ‘expedition’. She knew to wait till it died down, as it was dangerous. She quickly looked at it again from her bedroom window before she got an idea. She grabbed her telescope with her magic and opened the doors to her balcony. There she looked down to see most of ponyville have also spotted the red tornado. Twilight set down the telescope and started to observe it. She looked at it curiously how is this possible, I mean yes it’s a tornado but its red and in the everfree no less. The princess would like to know about this. But before she could call Spike to take a letter she saw a small shadow fall down the tornado before they crashed. She gasped at this and her eyes were wide.
“Twilight!!” She turned to see Spike holding a letter with the royal seal on it.
“You gotta letter”. She took it in her magic and unfolded it.
My Faithful Student
I need you and the elements to go to the Everfree Castle. I’m sure you’ve seen the tornado inside the forest. I sense that someone has started that tornado and I need you and your friends to find out whom. If that appears in a populated area then consequences would be present and I want to know how to counter such a thing.
Good luck
Princess Celestia
P.S Luna sends her luck too
Twilight turned to Spike. “We need to get the girls together Spike. Meet me at the edge of the Everfree forest”.
“Yes maam” Spike saluting and ran off to get the others whilst Twilight started packing her saddlebags.
