Dusty had been spending the last couple of weeks working on the Apple Family Farm while Twilight took a break from adventuring to study the old-fashioned way. This left him time to actually be with the mare he's had a crush on since he had first met her. When she turns up missing for lunchtime on the farm, a simple search becomes a full-swing love-lust fiasco between Dusty and Applejack.
