CHAPTER 1: Magic Kindergarten
RING RING RING RING RING RING!
Off went the school bell. Celestia began dismissing students from her class. "Don't forget to practice your spells at home!" she told us every single day. Can't we ever get a different assignment?
Every day is usually the same. Celestia does 20 minutes explaining a spell, she makes us do it, everyone fails, then she dismisses us, telling us to practice our spells. I wonder if Luna is this hard on her pegasi students. Speaking of which, are the earth ponies even offended by the fact there's no school for them?
Our spells today were apparently the same ones Celestia did yesterday. She had circles under her eyes. I'm still guessing that she's not getting enough sleep trying to find out which spell to teach us...if I were a princess, I wouldn't be as hard as her and people will actually enjoy Magic Kindergarten. I mean, one of my classmates, Lyra, told me about this scroll she found in the ocean, that told her about these mythical "humans" who apparently DO enjoy kindergarten, which makes me pace around in my room.
"Seriously?? We have no freedom! Celestia is harder on us than even I think!" I said to my brother, Shining Armor, as I paced around my room. "If I were an abicorn...or however you pronounce it....like her, I'd actually let my students enjoy this school in kindergarten."
"Even in kindergarten you're not supposed to have fu-"
"Well, Lyra's discovery says otherwise."
"Lyra? Sorry, you have so many friends in that school, I can't really catch their names..." Shining Armor asked.
"Light blue with yellow eyes...blue and white mane and tail..." I told him. He stood there like a confused lizard. "Obsessed with humans..."
"Oh yes, Heartstrings...she gets on my nerves." he pointed out. "Did you know this about legs? Did you know this about arms? Did you know this about hands?" Shining Armor imitated Lyra. "Spike has legs, arms, and hands!".
Hearing his own name, Spike cocked his head to the side, and then turned back, and continued roasting marshmallows on his own breath.
"I just wish Celestia was not as tough on us..." Twilight said.
"Come on, Twi, cheer up. If you keep on doing by Celestia's orders, someday you will be a superior in magic. You could be your own princess!" Shining Armor said.
"Really? But to be a princess requires you to be an abicorn, and I don't have wings! Rule #58382 in Equestria's Laws and Orders says itself: All princesses must have both a horn and wings or they will be punishable by life in prison."
Shining Armor stared at Twilight. "You can memorize all of that, but you can't do a simple spell?" Twilight just laughed at that, and hugged Shining Armor.
"Thanks for cheering me up...and I know that one day I will be as good as magic as you."
RIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!
Celestia heard the bell and started: "Class dismissed! Remember to practice your spe-"
"Yeah, we get it. 'practice your spells everyday, bla bla bla.'" Twilight said, imitating her.
"Twilight Sparkle! You have just ordered an hour of detention tomorrow!"
"Detention? Are we even supposed to know what detention is at this point?" Twilight pointed out.
"I know right. I mean, as it says on the scroll: Kindergarten is all about fun and games and there's no "until something happens" for humans. It is almost impossible to fail Kinder-"
Celestia shut the door on Lyra before she finished her sentence. "Twilight, you've been slacking at your spells for the past 2 months and you've been getting Fs all around." she started. "I'm afraid that, due to your grade levels, you may have to be held back in Magic Kindergarten."
Twilight gazed in shock. "But my best friends...will I see them agai-"
"You mean like Alula? Lyra? Twinkleshine? Lemon Hearts? Minuette? You can see them out in deep Canterlot, but not in school. You'll be making new friends in Magic Kindergarten."
Celestia dismissed her out of school, and her words continued ringing inside Twilight's head, especially these 5 words:
"You'll be making new friends."
