Chapter 3: The Sleepover

The day of the sleepover came quicker than Twilight would have liked. She had made Spike write down on Rainbow's invitation that the sleepover began an hour later than everyone else's. There was a knock on the door.

"Hi Twilight!" Pinkie Pie said as she walked inside, followed by Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack.

"Where's Rainbow at?" Applejack asked.

"Oh, I wrote the time for an hour late," Twilight said.

"Why's that?"

"I wanted to let you all know, I'm having this sleepover to confess to her. I just wanted to let you guys know before she got here. I'm nervous, as surprising as that is," Twilight told them.

"Oh it's alright dear, we're here to support you," Rarity said.

"Yeah, no matter what happens we're here for you," Fluttershy said, smiling.

"Thanks guys," Twilight said, catching Fluttershy's contagious smile.

In what seemed like an eternity, an hour passed as they sat there, talking, and waiting. Suddenly, as without warning, there was a knock on the door.

"Oh no," Twilight said, starting to shake intensely. Rarity started talking to her softly, and comforting her, allowing her to calm down. Applejack decided she would get up and go answer the door for the nervous girl.

"Hey Applejack, hey guys!" Rainbow Dash said, happily. "Am I late? I usually beat you guys here!"

"Nah, you're right on time! We just came here early," Applejack said, "We wanted to beat ya here for once,"

"Ah I see," Rainbow Dash said. "So what are we gonna do first?"

The group played games, made dinner, and played some more games. Eventually, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie, and Applejack looked at each other understandingly, and decided it was time for Twilight to confess. All four looked at Twilight as Rainbow Dash was not paying attention, she was trying to figure out a word to put on the Scrabble board. Twilight looked at them and nodded her head.

"I think I'm gonna go fix myself a snack in the kitchen," Applejack said.

"Me too!" Pinkie said energetically.

"Me as well," Rarity said.

"I think I could go for a snack too," Fluttershy said.

"Ya'll just keep playing without us now!" Applejack called from the kitchen.

"Alright, but your scores gonna suck!" Rainbow Dash replied jokingly.

Twilight sat there, nervously, trying to figure out a way to confess to Rainbow. Suddenly, as Rainbow Dash put down the word "Rainbow" (how clever of her) on the Scrabble board, Twilight found a way. She had the letters I, V, E, U, Y, O, and L. There was an L directly below the word "Rainbow", so she placed O, V, and E down to make the word "Love". Then Rainbow, not really thinking anything of this, put down another word on the other side of the board. This made Twilight's plan fall into place. There was an O below the word "Love" and she put the Y and the U down, making "You". Before Rainbow Dash could start her turn again, Twilight placed her I between the words "Rainbow" and "Love" making that part of the board say

At first, Rainbow Dash didn't notice, she was confused as to why Twilight put the I down after she had already placed a word. But when she did notice, she blushed. Slowly, she turned to Twilight, who was also noticeably blushing.

"T-Twilight?" Rainbow said softly, "D-Do you,"

"Yes," Twilight said, "I love you," Rainbow Dash sat there, shocked. She didn't know what to think, her emotions were confused.

"Do you, love me back?" Twilight asked nervously. Rainbow Dash didn't know at that time. She didn't really know anything, she was still in somewhat of a shocked state. But the more she thought about it, the more she leaned towards one answer. After the many years they've known each other, Rainbow Dash always did have some feelings for her.

"Yes Twilight, I do love you," Rainbow Dash said. The two of them leaned closer to each other, and in what seemed like a magical moment, they kissed. Fireworks went off in Twilight's mind, they always said the first kiss is magical, but it was only now that Twilight believed them. The other four girls in the kitchen stood there, smiling.

The kiss lasted for a good minute or so, but little did they know, Spike was at the top of the staircase, watching them. He only thought one thing to himself, "God that's hot,"

Later, after everyone had left and Twilight had a new girlfriend, she decided to write to Princess Celestia about this experience. "Spike, take a note please,"

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned what true love feels like. Cadance had always been the one spreading love, and today I felt what that feels like. I asked my dear friend, Rainbow Dash if she loved me as I loved her, and she said yes. It was a better feeling than anything in the world. This also taught me an important lesson about friendship. All our other friends stood behind us, and supported us even though we're both female and some deem that "weird" or "unnatural". My friends also said to me that they'd be there for me even if things went wrong with Dash. But luckily, nothing went wrong. Today I felt the strongest friendship ever, love. I'm glad I was able to stay here with them and study the magic of friendship, because now I know what true friendship is. It's where your friends are with you no matter what. And that's all I could have asked for.
