//-------------------------------------------------------// Secrets Can Kill... -by Dewshine Verde- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue A young white pegasus walks down the dark and empty streets of Ponyville. She felt tired as she had been woken up in the middle of the night by a scroll appearing in her room. She had read the scroll and felt slightly annoyed that somepony would want to meet her at one in the morning. Though that was normal for this certain pony. Her green and beige mane falls in her face and she brushes it away. Her wings are quivering from the cold and the dark grey bow in her mane is falling out. The mare walks into a small alley to fix herself up. Suddenly, a figure springs out of the shadows and tackles the mare to the ground. She shrieks and a hoof comes to cover her mouth. "Shh. Dewshine, it's just me." It takes a moment for the comment to register in the mare's tired brain. "Oh! Celestia's sun, you scared me! Don't scare me like that!" The figure steps back as Dewshine stands up and brushes herself off, an annoyed look on her face. "Sorry. But you know why I asked you to meet me here...right?" Dewshine's face becomes more serious. "Of course. You wanted me to do something?" The figure nods slowly. Dewshine keeps her blue-eyed gaze on the figure. "Ask away. I have all night." "...I need you to take somepony out." "Take somepony out? Like a date?" Dewshine looks confused. The figure sighs. "It's always dates with you...But no. That's not what I need." "What is it then?" Dewshine adjusts her bow and brushes her mane out of her eyes again. "I need you to..." The figure mutters the rest. "I can't hear you." "...I need you...to kill some ponies." Dewshine's eyes widen as she starts to tremble. "K-Kill ponies?! W-Why would I d-do that? And why would you want me to do that?!" "I need you to take these," The figure ignores her question and hands her a large envelope. "Everything you need is in here. You have one month Dewshine. If my requests are not met by this day next month at midnight...You know what will happen." Dewshine gulps and opens the envelope. Inside is a scroll. She pulls out the scroll and grazes it. "A list?" "This is everypony I need you to take out." Dewshine looks at the figure. "Y-You can't be serious! There's like ten ponies on this-" "Remember the consequences Dewshine. I know you don't want to go back there. But you also know that I can tell them where you are..." Another object falls out of the envelope and glitters in the moonlight. Dewshine gulps again and picks the item up. "A..." "Knife," The figure interrupts. "This is your murder weapon. I suggest you go to Cloudsdale since all of your victims live there. Remember Dewshine. One month. Or there will be consequences. Dire consequences." The figure disappears. "Wait!" Dewshine calls out. She slumps to the ground and stares at the two items, tears forming in her eyes. "Guess it's time for me to move to Cloudsdale." She puts everything in the envelope and flies to her home to rest. The figure watches Dewshine fly home. A scroll appears in the air and a quill begins to write letters, forming a note. I know where your daughter is. I have sent her off on an important errand. Whether or not she succeeds in completing this lesson, you will have your daughter back safe and sound in one month. I guarantee this. Sincerely, A. Nonymous A signature appears at the bottom of the letter before it folds into a scroll and disappears in a puff of smoke. The figure disappears soon after. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - Welcome to Cloudsdale //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 - Welcome to Cloudsdale The next morning, Dewshine wakes up early. She sees the envelope laying on the nightstand by her bed. She feels a chill go down her spine as she remembers the contents of the envelope. She gets out of bed and starts getting ready for the day. She styles her mane, tying the bow into her mane as always. She gets some breakfast before going back to her room. "I really don't want to do this," She looks at the envelope with a bit of sadness. "Why are you making me do this?!" She yells at the air. She never gets an answer. She slowly goes to pack up her saddlebag and grab the envelope. She opens the door to her home and walks out. The air was fresh and the sun was shining. "The weather pegasi were nice to us today..." She lifts off of the ground and starts flying to Cloudsdale. Meanwhile, two pegasi were walking to the weather facility side by side. The first pegasi was a colt. He had a blue and green mane that stuck up. His body was grey and his eyes were a striking shade of green. He had three small freckles on the sides of his face. The second pegasi was a young mare. She had a deep, curly blue and purple mane with a black bow tied into it. Her body was pure white and her eyes were a crystal-like blue. Her wings, however, seemed to be misshapen. The feathers were white but there was a large black brace permanently holding the fragile feathers up. She seemed to walk with an air of confidence despite it. "Hey Blaze?" The mare asked him. Her voice was confident and it had a sweet side to it. "Yes Rainshimmer?" The colt replied back with a deep and easygoing voice. "Did I ever tell you the story about my wings?" Rainshimmer nods at her wings. "I think you did a while ago. Can you remind me?" "I think I can do that," She clears her throat. "I was pretty young. Before I met you even. I was flying along and suddenly, something hit me out of the air. I fell and blacked out. When I woke up, I was in this dark forest. I believe it was called the Everfree Forest. I tried to fly but couldn't. I walked to the hospital and passed out again. When I woke up, I heard the doctors say something about a timberwolf...It wrecked my wings...But i've learned to use the brace." Blaze listens intently. "Yes, this sounds familiar." The two reach the facility. A guard comes up to them. "Do you work here?" Blaze answers. "Yes, we do." "Names?" "Grey Blaze and Rainshimmer." "Thank you. Grab a labcoat as you enter." The two pegasai walk past and into the facility. The letter that A. Nonymous sent finally reaches its destination. Two ponies open the letter and read it over. They nod to each other and go back to what they were doing.
