Life Is Like a Flow
Chapter 5: Spa
Previous ChapterChapter 5
When was the last time I got a back rub or massage, lets see, when I was a Lunar mage 13 years ago, the other time was when I was a drill sergeant 9 years ago. But hey, I always wanted to go the spa, don’t get me wrong, being all high and dandy is fun when you get to yell at people. But there was also that one thing In my life that made It unbearable but somehow I keep on going.
Paperwork, god you thought that when you got a job, its just office work, no homework. No, Luna insisted that I study those great tomes and spell books. It felt like homework, having to read all those bucking books. I mean, when I became commander of the entire military, I thought I was gonna go kill stuff, but no, they need my skills for bucking planning, let Prince Moonlight do it, he has “creative” plans and ways to fight a battle. But no, I’m the commander, I have to make the plans, why can’t I appoint a Captain for each branch of the military. I mean, can’t I send orders to the 6 captains, then relax while my orders are carried out? Maybe I could make the captains do my paperwork, but then Celestia would be mad at me. I pulled a bag of bits out of my sombrero as I near the Day Spa. As I neared the Spa, I could make out the shape of the building. Its shape was similar to that of a tent except it was solid. There was a glass door, so I opened it and a small chime followed. I smiled as I saw the list of services on the side of a desk. There, a blue earth pony with a pink mane and a white headband was behind the desk. Her cutie mark was a flower thingy, I never really studied plants and shit. You look at the list of services before asking. “Can I get a massage and a sauna please?” The pony replied, “that will be ten bits please.” I opened my bit bag and pulled out two 5 bits before handing the pony the bits. As she leads me through a door to room with a bed. As I take my sombrero off, the spa pony prepares the bed. I walk over to the bed before lying down. I place my head down on the bed as the spa pony started massaging my back. All my tense muscles start to relax as the massage lasts on for about thirty minutes before it was time for the sauna. I got up from the bed before following the spa pony into a another room. Inside, a wood paneled room with steam inside that welcomes me as I step inside. I walk over to a bench lined up to wall before setting my rump down. The sauna works wonder for me as I relax and start sweating, my cost getting more wet. Then, a letter and a box appears in my face with an audible pop before dropping onto the wood floor. You groan loudly but not loud enough for the spa pony to hear. you levitate the letter to you face before opening. You read out loud,Dear Commander Surplus Flow,The spell is helping but not for long, I can see cracks on Discord. His head has already broken and now I can see him yelling at the guards surrounding him. It is a matter of time before he is released. In this box are the the Elements of Harmony. Also, Luna and I have agreed on something. You are now taking three jobs instead of two because we feel we can only trust you. This third job is going to be Keeper of Artifacts. I hope you make good use this job.I skim the paragraph over and over looking if I was hallucinating from the steam and scented candles. Nope, I was not hallucinating. I let this process in my mind. ‘I’m going to be the Royal Guardian, Commander of the Military, and the Keeper of Artifacts. Great just great… or maybe I can take advantage of this new position. We would you to round up the Element bearers; their names are Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity.
Sincerely,
Princess Celestia
I teleport the letter to you room as I face the box in front of me. I reach for one of the latches on the box before flipping it open. The lid falls backward revealing five gold necklaces with various marks. In the center is a gold tiara with a familiar mark on it.I close the lid before laying back on the wall, still holding the box in my hooves. 'Maybe Straight A would like to be a Keeper of Artifacts?' I muse over this thought as I got up while levitating the box heading towards the door. I exit the room and dry off the excess sweat. I looked around for my sombrero before eyeing in on one of the hat stands.I walk towards it and brought the yellow hat on the ground before stuffing the box into it. I smile as I pick up the hat before slapping it on my head and walking towards the doors. You smile at the sun before walking towards the Golden Oaks Library. Grinning as I see a pegasus fly over you carrying a package.

Ponyville Dungeon - 45 minutes ago
I looked at the 2 ponies guarding me, hand cannons on their holsters. Their armour was like a midnight black flowing wave, with white stripes under the armour. In the middle of the was an encrusted blue vortex, the same mark you saw on Surplus’s butt, except his had an atom and 4 stars around it. Both their coats are uniformed grey, including their hair. Their eyes were a crimson red color with a hint of green. Their helmets were the same design as a spartan helmet from the Roman times. The helmet extended to their shoulders covering their necks from possible attacks. The helmet was wavey like the armour which allowed fluid motions and 180 degree turns. I thought about how he said that he has a personal army, about 100 soldiers I remembered correctly. I also thought of how Surplus got that revolver, and why it was futurized. As I concentrated, the guard on my left poked me with his hoof and said. “What are you suppose to be?” I noticed that her voice was like a woman’s so I guessed the pony was a mare. I replied sarcastically, “a homo sapient.” “What kind of a name is that?” “Just kidding, that is the scientific name for us, we call ourselves humans.” “Huh.” was all she said before taking out a notebook from under her wings and began writing something down with a pencil that she got from her other wing. “What are you doing?” I asked, curiosity filling me. “Studying you, commander’s orders.” She replied writing a bit more before stashing them away in her wings. She looks at me before saying, “I’m staff sergeant Red Glaze and this here,” she said pointing at the pony right of me, “is corporal Block Crasher.” She holds out her hoof and you shake it. Red Glaze opens her mouth to ask me, “what is your name?” “Steve Jinks, hey do you two know anything about Surplus’ gun? “You mean Commander Surplus’ weapon, Woona right?” “Yeah that.” “Well, the other soldiers say that he got it from the gods themselves. Others say that he summoned it using black magic.” “What do you call yourselves, like the army you are in?” “Oh, we are the Vortex, see this,” she said pointing to the encrusted blue vortex, “that represents what army we are in. Currently there are four armies and two guard details. We are not part of the Equestrian Military, we only answer to Commander Surplus Flow. Most of the Vortex used to be in the Princess’ personal guard detail. Currently, we are at full capacity, 100 soldiers. The Vortex includes 50 unicorns, 25 pegasus, and 25 bat ponies.” “Where are the rest of the army?” “The rest of the army is posted throughout Equestria in case of an emergency. Very convenient for the commander to think of that.” “Huh, so now what?” “Well, more questioning of course.” Glaze said before smiling. I groan before saying. “Fine, what else do you want to know?” And that was my mistake, questions after questions, most of which I could not answer, was asked of me. I didn’t realize that Glaze has taken out her notepad and pencil while we were talking. After an hour later, she closed her notebook and took out a vial what appeared to be green dust. She opened the vial and poured the dust over the notebook. The notebook catches on fire before disintegrating leaving behind nothing, not even dust. My jaw literally dropped, an hour of interrogation and she burns it. Great waste of time.

Golden Oaks Library
I had just finished reading the first book of the Daring Do series before a swirling of green and red appeared on the table where I was currently seated at. A notebook and a parchment landed on the table. I looked at the notebook. ‘Good, notes on the creature.’ Then i glance at the parchment. I levitate the paper to my face and read it out loud, “He has agreed”
