Twilight Sparkle is sent to Ponyville to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration, but her mind is elsewhere. This is the thousandth year of the Celebration, and it is prophesied that the stars will aid in the escape of Nightmare Moon, and she will shroud the land in eternal darkness. Twilight wants to get through it quickly so she can do her research, but things are going strangely. Some ponies are reacting oddly, some even violently, to her presence, and Spike is becoming increasingly ill. Is it all coincidence, or is something far more evil going on?
