To Whom It May Concern,

If you're reading this, I've left. I've just... given up on her.

She is unusual, I know, but ignore it. She may be a pony, but she has thoughts. She has feelings. She lives just like you. Just like me. She loves me, and I love her, because she brought joy into my life.

She may look fake, like she's from the show. But go ahead, and stroke her mane. Her soft mane, her real mane. She is alive. She may look animated. She may look like a sort of... hologram. But she is real. When she had nightmares, she would crawl into bed with me, and fall asleep. I've seen her interact with objects. She is real, trust me.

You can not, under any circumstances, let her see the show. To know... that she was created as a back round character, nothing more, would break her. And, if you do know about the show, you may think, 'Why is she a child? How is she a child?' To answer that, I have no idea. It's... how I found her. She is very sensitive, but the the most adorable little filly ever.

DON'T TALK ABOUT HER EYES. She hates them, but I think they're cute. She doesn't fly right, because of them, so be understanding. She has a habit of breaking objects, so don't keep anything too valuable out. She is, in fact, not stupid. She is the smartest girl her age I know, and I'm proud of her.

Her parents are, how do I put this? A fragile topic, you could say. She'll talk about them, but only when it's comfortable for her. It'll take time. Heck, I barely known anything, and we've been family for two years. She is the sweetest, kindest, and all around amazing filly I've ever met.

One day, there was a huge storm. She got scared, and hid. I'll tell you, I looked everywhere for her. I eventually found her under her bed, whimpering like a little puppy. I picked her up, and whispered, 'What's wrong? Are you scared of the lightning?' She replied with a nod. 'Well, let me show you something.' I said. I took her over to the window, and we waited. Then, lightning struck, in perfect view. I'll never forget it. The glow from the electricity, combined with the wonder in her eyes.

Then, there was the day she saw fireflies. So many fireflies. The excitement in her eyes, as she watched the glowing specks swirl around and around. 'What are those?' she asked. 'Fireflies.' I replied, 'Wonderful, little bugs that give off an amazing light.' One landed on her hoof, and she giggled. 'It's so pretty.' she said, 'They look like stars!' And they did.

For breakfast, one morning, I decided to make her a special treat. Using my knowledge of the show, and my cooking knowledge. I whipped up a special breakfast, just for her. A bowl of her favorite cereal, Lucky Charms, a glass of orange juice, and to top it all off, a muffin. A plain, old, regular muffin. And you know what? That made her day.

I taught her how to read. 'Daddy, I can't!' she'd screamed. 'Of course you can, kid.' I went down to her eye level, 'Because I believe in you.'

Then there was the day I found her. Walking home from the store. I gotta eat, y'know. Every living thing does. Then, I heard it. Sobbing. And a voice, saying, 'Please don't leave me. I don't wanna be alone. Mommy, Daddy, don't go.' And other things like that. My heart broke. I traced the sound to a box. The sidewalk was rather empty at this time of day, so no one witnessed as I opened the flaps of the box, and saw the most heart wrenching sight ever. The poor little thing was covered in dirt and twigs. I could see tear stains, being freshened by new ones. I couldn't help it. I picked the box up, startling the little filly. 'Who are you?' she asked. My reply was, 'Don't worry, you're safe.'

I once put on a scary movie, and asked her if she wanted to watch. She agreed, but hesitantly. It happened to be a demon movie, of which I cannot remember. That night, I heard her scream. Nightmares. She said it was about the movie we watched. I felt terrible. That was the night her fear in monsters sparked.

She was staring out the window one morning. I wasn't sure what she was looking at. Then I remembered there was a park in that direction. Maybe she wanted to play. I decided to wait until she finished. I signed onto my computer, and started doing work. Twenty minutes later, I heard faint sniffles. 'It's horrible!' she screamed. 'Kid, what's wrong?' Id asked. She ran right into my arms, and whimpered, 'I don't have a mommy or a daddy, and those kids playing have both!' She sobbed into my shoulder for a while, before I said, 'I won't force this on you, but if you want, you could call me Daddy.' She looked at me with shock in her eyes. 'Really?' she asked. 'Really." I replied. Then she hugged me tightly, 'I love you, Daddy.'

If I were to return, don't speak to me. Don't let her see me. As far as she's concerned, I don't exist.

She can learn one day. About the show, and about me. I love her, she's my only family. I hate to leave her, but I have to. I want you to teach her some things, whoever you are. I want you to teach her loyalty, laughter, generosity, honesty, kindness, and finally, magic. teach her love, family, and patience. And, learn all these things from her. Just like I.

Ditzy? From the show? Impossible. There were signs of a child littered everywhere. Drawings and such. You opened a door, random choice, and heard a whimper.

"Who's there?" you call out, "I can help you!"

"G-go away!" the voice manages to say.

"I can help you." You say, "What's your name." Though you can already tell.

       "...Ditzy..."
