Lightning flew across the street with ease. He was always a stable flyer, no fancy tricks or anything, but enough to keep him off of his hooves. Rainbow called it Fluttershy-standard flying, and said he had to act like a stallion if he was going to last for a week. He wanted to last years. Suddenly, a grey-and-yellow blur bumped into him, knocking his wings to his sides and making him fall to the ground.
The grey mare looked at him, her wall-eyes tearing up. "I'm SO sorry! I didn't see you there!"
Lightning smiled. "It's ok."
"Oh, thank Celestia. My name is Derpy Hooves - or Ditzy Doo. Depends if your a Canterlottian or not,"
Lightning smiled. "I'll call you Bubbles."
"Bubbles?"
"Bubbles. I give ponies nicknames depending on their cutie marks."
"Oh.... then bye-de-bye, Lightning!"
"Huh, that's my actual name..."
"Oh....bye anyway!"
Ditzy stood up and flew away, but not too long before a pink blur hopped into him.
"HITHEREI'MPINKIEPIEAREYOUNEWYOUMUSTBENEWIKNOWEVERYPONYANDIME-"
A cyan hoof was shoved in her mouth.
"Pinkie, he's new, his name is Lightning, and yes, he would like a free cupcake."
"Oh GOODIE! I have seven left! One for you, him, Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, me and Fluttershy!"
She hurriedly tossed a cupcake into their hooves and ran off.
"What the hay was that?!?!"
Rainbow waited a minute before speaking.
"The most beautiful thing I've ever heard..."
Lightning Droplet felt a pounding in his head. It wasn't strong or pain-infusing, just a gentle, uncertain pounding. almost as if it isn't sure if it's a hoof tap or a pounding. Groaning, Lightning opened his eyes. Light. That was different. Maybe the guards of Limbo had opened a dimensional window or something.... or maybe, now he looked around, his wish had been granted: A second life. An afterlife, if you wish. Suddenly, he heard a rough, female voice. "Umm...you ok?" He turned his head to the voice. A cyan Pegasus with a rainbow mane stood proudly in front of him, a concerned look on her face. Her eyes were a rose-like colour, almost as if he was staring into roses themselves. She chuckled. "The name's Dash. Rainbow Dash. I found you on my porch - passed out."
She seemed nice enough.
"Uggh.... my head..."
"You ok?"
"Yeah. Never been better."
"If you say so."
Lightning rubbed a hoof on his eyes. He looked down at his sky-blue hoof. Sky blue...
not grey...
YES! He was finally alive again!
A....live?
Well, he wished for a life AND a family so...
He looked at the picture on the wall.
6 wacky-looking ponies stared back at him.
Here we go again...
