Chapter 3: Old Hatreds Never Die

Brock had sat and waited for only an hour and a half before the moon was in the sky. he sat shaking with joy as he saw the stars start to align in the sky behind the moon.

"Come on.... COME ON!!" Brock shouted in his head. and yet his wishes were fulfilled and the moon lit up brighter than before in the sky. "Finally the time has come to bring back my master...... NOW NIGHTMARE MOON I SUMMON YOU BACK TO THE WORLD OF THE LIVING!" Brock screamed out loud and fired an endless beam of arcane lightning at the crescent moon he had painted in the grass many hours before. The circle lit up and the dragon scale and the lock of twilight's hair floated into the air and materialized into something that was unfathomable. Brock saw that the hair formed a baby girl about the size of a small dog. When she opened her eyes they were a greenish-turquois color with dragon pupils and a sky blue outline. She opened her eyes and looked at Brock and she yawned in mid-air and stared at him smiling.

"What is this? Why is it not WORKING?! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!" Brock screamed at himself and the baby started crying but then, just then, a light shot out from the moon and a black sphere shot down into the girl followed by a deep-sea blue streak with white dots and disappeared into the baby. She stopped crying and then shrank back and grew to the size of a full grown adult but taller. She had the same eyes, a set of pitch black cloths and her hair had changed from a violet colored purple to a very bright sea blue and it had white stars all over it so it looked like the night sky. Brock smiled at seeing his thousand year quest come to fruition.

"Rise nightmare moon..... RISE! I have summoned you back to our world so that you may take your revenge out on the Sun Tyrant, Celestia..... RISE NOW, AND BE MY QUEEN ONCE MORE!!!!" Brock screamed and a flash of light escaped from the woman. But this light wasn't blinding by any means, it wasn't bright either. It was a flash of pitch-black light. Brock kept the chain of arcane lightning going as the dragon scale split into seven pieces and grew into the shape of a few different pieces of deep blue armor. The armor molded onto the body of the woman around her horn and her cloths. She had a chest piece with a white crescent moon on it. She had a wristband on each hand and a pair of shoes that were spiked up to about her knee's and a casing that crossed her back and surrounded the base of her wings. Then the lightning stopped and Brock fell to his right knee then stood back up. He then looked at his handy-work. His once glorious Queen Nightmare Moon stood before him in her once great state.

"My queen, it is an honor to be in your presence after a thousand years." He knelt before her and she smiled at him.

"Rise my great servant as your quest is complete. But there is something you must do for me now." Nightmare spoke the words quietly in his ear.

"What can i do for you my queen?"Brock asked her.

"I want you to got to Canterlot and alert celestia to my presence." Nightmare told him.

"But why my queen?" Brock asked hesitantly.

"So that i may make sure she stays out of the way." Nightmare spoke clearly and calmly.

"Very well my queen i will be back soon." And with that Brock warped to Canterlot at the main entrance of the castle.

"HALT, who goes there?" A guard asked him.

"Y-You must let me speak to celestia immediately!" Brock begged them.

"State your business, now." The guard said sternly.

"NIGHTMARE MOON HAS RETURNED!" Brock shouted. Upon hearing these words the guards fell over and fainted. The gate slid open and Brock sprinted forward. He entered the Throne room of the castle and saw Celestia sitting there. "PRINCESS CELESTIA! COME QUICK!"Brock shouted and stopped at the base of the throne.

"Calm down my subject, who are you?" Celestia asked in her heavenly voice.

"M-M-My name i-is Brock Fireheart." He said while gasping for air.

"Calm down what is the matter?" Celestia asked again.

"Y-You must come quick, all of equestria is in danger!" Brock said as he caught his breath.

"From what?" Celestia asked.

"NIGHTMARE MOON HAS RETURNED!" Brock screamed. Celestia heard these words and froze solid her pupils shrank to the size of pins and she stared at the terrified man.

"W-Where is she?" Celestia asked shakily.

"S-She's down there in the field right there!" Brock said and Celestia looked and saw her sister's hair and body staring at ponyville. She wasn't moving it was like she was turned to stone.

"Come on Brock lets go." After hearing this Brock teleported into the field followed by celestia. She flew out the window and landed on the ground about fifteen yards away from her sister. "Hello Nightmare..." Celestia said angrily.

"Aah Celestia, its been soooo long since we've talked. We have much to discuss." Nightmare said with a devilish grin.

"What do you mean?" Celestia asked and walked forward and stepped into the crescent moon circle and Brock Smiled behind her.

"Oh how you are always so gullible sister, it is truly amusing..." Nightmare said with a chuckle.

"What are you talking about Nightmare?!" Celestia half shouted.

"Celestia please calm yourself, you've only stepped right into my trap, quite literally speaking." Nightmare said and smiled.

"What trap? What are you talking about?!" Celestia asked angrily.

"Look around you sister." Nightmare said.

"Its an image of your cutie mark so what?" Celestia asked irritably. "Oh but its far more than that dear sister...... Its a sulfur circle...." Nightmare said with a cackle. Celestia froze and jumped back as she neared the edge of the circle

"Sister how could you?!" Celestia shouted.

"I did it just so i can get my revenge.... And to keep you out of my way in the process.

"By doing what exactly?" Celestia asked shakily.

"By sending you to the sun, and keeping you there to make you feel the pain that i once felt!" Nightmare shouted and with that she pushed Celestia into the edge of the sulfur circle and she was electrocuted. Celestia fell to her knees and gasped. "Now who's bowing down to who sister?!" And with that Nightmare sent Celestia to the sun and locked her there. "Now to make my grand appearance. Brock go hide in the crowd in the town hall and ill be making an appearance shortly." Nightmare said and turned towards the town.

"What are you going to do my queen?" Brock asked as he slowly walked into Ponyville.

"Im just going to give the ponies of this town a little scare." Nightmare said and laughed and vanished. Brock teleported to the entrance of the town hall and he walked inside.

"Citizens of ponyville it is my great pleasure to welcome the Woman who gives us the sun each and every morning, PRINCESS CELESTIA!" The mayor said and moved to the side. The crowd clapped and cheered happily as Rarity pulled open a curtain only to reveal thin air. The town gasped as a blueish cloud of smoke appeared and turned into nightmare moon.

"Ooh my beloved subjects, its been soooo long since I've seen your precious little sun loving faces." Nightmare snarled.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH OUR PRINCESS?!" Rainbow Dash screamed.

"Why? Am i not royal enough for you? Dont you know who i am? Did you not see he signs?! Or does my crown simply no longer count since i have been imprisoned for a thousand years?!" She snapped back and Twilight stepped forward.

"I saw the signs and i know who you are." twilight said angrily. "Your the woman in the moon, NIGHTMARE MOON!" Twilight shouted and this made even Brock shocked at how much she really knew.

"Finally somebody who actually remembers who i am. Then you must know why im here then?" Nightmare asked.

"Your here to.... To........" Twilight whimpered. Nightmare chuckled and smiled.

"Remember this day you little cretins, for it was your last. from this moment onward. The night. Will last. FOREVER!!!!!!" Nightmare screamed and laughed maniacally before vanishing into thin air.
