Rainbow sat her new commanders desk,it shone on her desk lamp.She liked it but ever since she got the position the job had become very dull.She sighed as she swiftly skimmed through the paper work that sat on piles on her desk.She may be the fastest flyer but when it came to work it was different.The roof was like white noise with the pitter patter of the rain on the roof made Rainbow more and more tired by the minute.She found herself stamping the military forms in order stamp stamp no stamp stamp stamp no stamp she glanced at the clock finding it later than expected.She soon heard a stamping on wood sound and just smiled when she looked down at several stamp marks across her desk normaly she would be freaking out and try to clean it but she didn't have to.
She glanced at the clock while the click of her suitcase filled her ears."Huh 11:30 a bit later than I wanted but it would do for now." But something stopped her and she heard the sound of a door slam down and a door soon came blasting at her straight in the face.Now someone came through the doorway and Rainbow ducked under her desk.She saw a white streak run across her face and she sat up and yelled.
"Gilda!" She yelled to the griffin coming through the doorway.She put her hoof on the papers and picked them up as she rubbed her eye's she sighed very deeply before asking."What do you want?" The griffin slouched over ready to attack then went back up as she muttered "its about the dark crystal."Rainbow's eye's widened with horror and her bandage came off revealing the large gash on her wing."Dash" Glida went on.She blinked twice as Dash stood their shocked.Gilda tended to her wound as she finally stood straight."Gilda" Dash started to beg."What ever you do you can not inform Spike." She nodded slowly.
A map soon covered Dash's desk as Gilda began to talk about what griffin miners had found deep within the mountain range.She held a black crystal fragment in her hand and began to speak about where they found it."...A man tried mining through it and I soon came over to him to check what he had when I saw it I had the same reaction you had." Gilda smiled over to Dash who began to blush."This is part of a item that can bend a man's will to the point where he would rip out his own eye's." "So" stated a gruff voice "you can give it to me anytime."Dash and Gilda both gasped to find Spike smiling at them.
He trudded over "don't worry I'm gonna help you." He took out several pins and pushed them slightly into 7 parts of the map he pointed to each one and explain."4 of these fragments are ruled by dragon land they won't let you in if your not a dragon,but stealing these pieces is even harder." He pointed to three to state they were under control of ponies."And of course the one you have makes eight total."He smiled then flew off into the setting moon.Rainbow faintly heard "you like these" and she nodded.
She felt Gilda shove something into her hooves.She stumbled around with it then realized it was a black pistol.She looked gloom."What are we gonna do with this?"She pulled it back cocking it."Shoot our way in."
