To Life...
The town of Ponyville was alive with activity today. Birds sung to an unheard melody as ponies went about their daily routine or enjoys the rays of sunlight the shone down on the bustling city below. Ponies mingled in the market place. Barting with stall owners over wares, or just conversing with friends and enjoying the company.
The sounds of laughter and merriment permeated the air around the park in town. Children ran and played with each other while their parents sat together and watched, loving smiles painted on there faces. But those fillies and colts weren't the only ones playing on this bright and sunny day.
Twilight Sparkle sat in her room in the library. Her door locked and curtains pulled shut to block out the outside world. Her mumbled words and secret antics sealed off from prying eyes. No pony could see what she was doing alone in her room lest she wan't to be ridiculed by her peers.
Twilight Sparkle was playing with dolls.
Twilight had many dolls to choose from while she reenacted historical events from memory. From knights to doctors, you name it, Twilight had it. But she wasn't alone in her room, not really. There was another in the room that Twilight considered family just as much as Spike or her brother Shining Armour. And that someone was Smarty Pants. A doll she had since she was a little filly.
Growing up Twilight would have all sorts or adventures together with Smarty Pants. And through it all the bond between them grew and grew. No matter what happened in Twilight's life, Smarty Pants was there for it.
Now today was different. Twilight felt exceptionally bored today. All of her friends had plans today and were just too busy to hang out.
"I wish you could talk, Smarty." Twilight said with a sigh as she handed her partner in crime a doll with a mask on. They were playing cops and robbers but Twilight's mind wasn't all there. "Playing these games would be exceptionally more interesting if you could."
Looking around the room Twilight noted all the dolls strewn about the floor of her room. She had been at it for the past few hours playing out different scenes from the story 'The Lone Pony'.
Finally Twilight had had enough of sitting alone in her room. Cleaning up her dolls and placing Smarty Pants back in her place on the bed, Twilight opened up the curtains and turned to walk out the door. Before finally heading down stairs Twilight quickly ran back to the bed and gave Smarty Pants a quick hug. "Maybe one day you'll really be able to play with me."
And with that Twilight headed down stairs, not noticing the sudden movement on her bed as Smarty Pants began to glow.
