"God my back" I muttered, who knew she had that kind of strength? I walked over to food table for a drink. They had bottles of pop, cider, varieties of fruit drinks, and...hard cider? I grabbed the bottle between my teeth and poured some into a cup, I took this time to make a joke, "Confound these ponies they drive me to drink" I muttered, I couldn't help but crack a smile and chuckle a little.

I took a sip from the cup, not bad, I then drank the rest. I poured another cup and was in the process of drinking another when Pinkie jumped up behind me. "Hiya!" She said, I of course jumped while still drinking making the cider go down the wrong pipe. "*cough**cough*, Hey, Pinkie please don't do that to me, like jump up behind me, if your gonna do that do it in front of me where I can see you"

"Okie Doki Loki!" Pinkie said with unwavering enthusiasm. "Thank you" I replied, "Anyway, I just wanted to say welcome to Ponyville and I hope you enjoy the party!" She said, "Thanks, and the party is the best one I ever had" I replied. Pinkie smiled with glee and gave me a less back breaking hug. I returned the hug in kind, and god her hair smelt like cotton candy.

"Oh so, your names Storm Chaser right and Rain is your brother?" She asked, "Yep"I said rather shortly. "And what does your cutie mark mean" she asked, I took a look at it, the paragon symbol from Mass Effect, "it means I'm a good guy, I go out of my way to aid those in need, I do things for the greater good."

Pinkie nodded her head and looked like she was thinking " So we can count on you helping us when we are in trouble" she stated. "Yes, if you need anything Pinkie, I will help." I promised

Pinkie left to check on everypony else, and just as I was about to take a drink a voice I was begging to hear came from my left. "Your one of the new pegasi in town huh?" I turned and looked and my heart felt like it stopped, and standing next to me was Rainbow Dash.

I felt myself getting warm and a little bit nervous. Oh boy, ok Ray act normal, "Yeah, that's me, names Storm Chaser" I said. "Hm, how fast are you?" She questioned, "I'm not one to brag" I stated. "Well you may have heard of me, I'm the one and only, Rainbow Dash!" She said proudly.

"Yeah, I saw you at the Young Fliers Competition, you made a sonic Rainboom, saved not only your friend, but the wonder bolts as well" I listed. She didn't even looked surprised, "Glad to know I still have fans around, after that mare do-well thing" she chuckled. "So how bout we get straight to business" she said seriously.

I got a little nervous wondering what she meant. "With new pegasi in town I can finally have a challenge, you see, I've raced pretty much everybody in town, and I've beat them all, except Applejack on foot, and I want to race you and your brother" I relaxed a bit and said, "Sure, how bout...the day after tomorrow?"

"Your on!" She said with obvious happiness. She then trotted off to probably chat with other ponies. "What did I get us into?" I muttered. Where is Rayne? Where there is a Fluttershy a Rayne is near. I went on a search for my friend.

I found him in on a couch talking to Fluttershy. It seemed they were getting along, no doubt he broke her shy shell and they were becoming friends. I felt proud of my friend for pursuing his interests. I decided not to bother them to give them as much time together as I could.

I walked back to the drinks and poured another, "it's gonna be a long night" I muttered as I drank the night away.
