Secrets that lay on the dark side of the moon
In the bedroom of the Princess of the Night
"Cele, it has been many years since she awoke from her slumber but im scared, what if she isn't ready for the truth that i have to tell her?"
A tall white alicorn put her wing around the navy blue alicorn to give comfort, "Sister, since the day sho woke up I have personally looked over her growth and I can say that she is mature enough i am sure of this, surely it will take time for her to adjust to the truth but im sure she will accept it," looking down to the light blue mane that clung to her chest like a lost filly, she put both her arms around her sister.
At the sudden embrace the smaller alicorn looked up at her elder sister, "I hope you are right sister because when she arrives I have no turning back, Imust tell her the truth and when I have finished I will not be able to stop her if she leaves i will have no right for the sins that i have commited".
Releasing her grip slightly, "Luna, I am sure that it will be hard but it is for the best that you tell her the truth now than have her more hurt later, it was never your fault for becoming nightmare moon and it was my choice to have her grow as a 'normal' unicorn amonst some of my dear friends so in the next few hours get some rest and then I shall send for her to come to the castle," releasing Luna and moving of the bed she moves to the door her horn aglow in a golden aura that is also on the handle, "I shall also see to it that day court be held tommorow so that I am there to help you explain to her the truth, so do not fret sister, I shall see you later in the day, goodnight Luna".
Laying her head down with a sigh escaping her lips, "yes, goodnight Cele," closing her eyes as the Princess of the sun leaves the room she uses her magic to close the curtains to block the sunlight from entering her room.
Later that day in ponyville
A sweet aroma drifts through the air as delectable sweets could be seen through a glass counter, a pink mane bounced back and forth picking up the different appetizers as she did to make a leaning tower of cake that swung to and fro nearly falling but just before she would change direction, "surely darling, you dont think we can all finish that stack of *urp* calories," a purple saphire maned mare with marble white fur spoke with a regal tone over to the bouncing piece of candy floss.
Sticking her head above the counter still balancing the plate of delight on her mane, "no silly, this is my pile im getting you guys your next, okey dokie maybe some of these next," sticking her head back down.
"y'know sugar it aint really healthy to be avin that many cakes now is it?" walking over to were the rest of her friends sat an orange mare strode the the bright pink wooden door into the shop, "you be gettin lots of cavities with that much cake, just last week I had to take Applebloom to get one of her teeth removed due to having a cavity".
"Oh, applejack dont worry so much, I mean its Pinkie, you have more of a chance of the egghead here getting bored of books than her getting a cavity," a cyan mare with a rainbow mane stated with arms crossed.
"Well I guess shes right, Rainbow Dash does have a point it is Pinkie but that remark of me being an egghead is getting old so stop calling me that,"
Turning to her left Rainbow giggles slighty at the reaction she got from her friend, "hehe, sorry twi but you do like your books though"
Giving Rainbow a nudge in the arm, "Whatever, I'l get you back someday for these remarks Rainbow," turning to where her little brother sat next to Rarity," Spike I'l say this once dont eat too many cakes and you have to behave when your at Raritys alright.
A small baby dragon that had green spikes and purple scales moaned, "Im not some little child Twilight I can look after myself and I wouldn't trouble rarity even if you asked me too," huffing and his cheeks becoming chubby.
"Aww, spikey wikey you're just too cute," putting a babyish tone on Rarity grabs Spikes cheeks and rubs them earning a blush from spike.
Twilight puts a hoof up to her mouth and coughs fakely to get their attension again before starting again, "well you are still young and I know I should only be gone for tonight but its the first time in many years since I have been summoned by myself to canterlot so I don't know whats happened but never the less I'l see you guys tommorow coz I really gotta go my train will arrive any minute now," getting out of the seat she uses her magic to levitate saddle bags with a star colored purple on it up and onto her back. "well guys I will see you later".
"b..be carful twilight, I will look after Owliscious for you til you get back," a mare who was quiet all this time spoke before Twilight got out the door.
"Thanks Fluttershy, see ya guys later," closing the door behind her she sets on her way to the train station, Still I really dont know what this lesson could be if its that important for me to be rushed to canterlot castle all of a sudden, Oh well guess I'l soon find out.
At Canterlot Castle
A guard at the front gates walked up to Twilight placing a hoof at his head, "her majesty, Princess Celestia has asked me to escort you to her quarter, she and Princess Luna are waiting so I must ask we make haste," placing his arm back down and turning around the guard makes a pace of walking that is fast but not to taxing to the guest of the Princess.
Princess Luna is waiting too, but why I mean, arn't I not getting a lesson , with the thought of being in a room with both Princess' Twilight has a feeling that something isn't right and that what would come next wasn't a lesson but something else, she was right what was coming was something no one would have ever expected.
Two white doors with a sun emblem was at the end of the corridor and had two more guards at either side holding spears, "Your Majesty, Miss Twilight Sparkle has arrived," the doors swung open to reveal both Princess Celestia and Luna stood waiting in the middle of the room.
Twilight aproached the princess' after a few seconds and bowed waiting to be let up by her teacher.
Twilight rose up and began to walk over, "erm Princess', thats different , could I ask why I was summoned because this is the first time I have been asked to come alone in many years and to have both of you here is a little more than intimidating, it worries me," taking a seat on one of the yellow cushions she watches as the two alicorns sit down on their own seats.
"Guards you may leave us now everything is okay," gesturing with a hoof Celestia sends them away leaving only the three of them in the room, "finally," after saying that both her and Lunas hair stop flowing in the non existant wind turning their natural color of bright pink and Lunas light blue, "now Twilight I know that this all seems a bit, well, scary to you but what we tell you now you have to promise to listen to Luna and then make your discision only then," with a sigh Celestia get more comfortable on the seat.
"My descision, to what?" Twilight was sat on the seat upright on the seat with a look of confusion on her face.
It was Luna who was the first to begin, "Now Twilight, how many years have you know my sister Celestia now would you say"
"Well since my parents were told it would be a good idea to enrol me in the gifted unicorn school it was since then so about fourteen years now since I was eight at the time"
Moving her hooves around and fidgiting Luna carried on, "were you ever told who suggested that you enrol, if not I can tell you now it was my sister Celestia herself that did that," looking at celestia.
Twilights confused face turned to shock with a mouth agape, "now Twilight, I was the one who asked that you be enrolled and it was all for good reason, you were told when you was old enough to understand that you were adopted into the sparkles just like your elder brother when you were seven correct"
"yes I was told that when I was a filly my mother had died in an accident," I dont like where this is headed.
"I'm affraid that was just a story that myself and velvet sparkle had made to keep the nobles of canterlot from delving too much to were you came from when I made you my protoge," looking to see what expression Twilight had made she saw that her students bangs had fell over her eyes, "now Twilight it might seem strange to you why we did that but you will understand soon, we had to do this, your birth mother well, something happened that took a long time to fix and you yourself hadn't have woken up from your slumber till twenty two years ago"
Many thought ran through Twilights head at what was being explained to her but when the word slumber came out, it felt like being hit by a train, "w..w.what do you mean....slumber?"
A pained expression came accross Lunas face that Twilight noticed, "Twilight, I..I.."
"Its alright sister I can tell her if you want, it shouldn't have to weigh on your shoulders after so many nights of sorrow," eyes with tears Celestia tried to start telling Twilight the truth but was stopped by Luna.
"No Cele, it is my duty to her that I tell her what happened," Twilight turned to the moon goddess as the navy mare had a look that she was going to break down there and then, "now about the s.s..slumber, Twilight it wont be easy but I will tell you what really happened a thousand years ago, it was to be the greatest thing that happended to equestria since many thousands of years it was the birth of an heir to the throne, a beautiful little filly but there was something wrong after she was born, she would not move or awake from her sleep, it slowly rotted at the mother thinking that it was her fault making a darkness haunt their country," Luna had to stop due to not being able to breathe from the crying.
Twilight saw how distressed both her princess' were but didn't know why, "B..b.but what does that have to do with me?"
Breathing in and out slowly Luna looks back a Twilight, "the reason why we said the word slumber my dear Twilight was that you litterally slept near a thousand years, Twilight I..I.I'm you're birth mother, when you wouldn't wake up I went crazy, the guilt I had for not being able to wake you was too much to bare and I ended up doing something foolish, I turned to the darkside of the moon and gave way to the nightmares, if it wasn't for Celestia the equestria you know now probably wouldn't be here".
"Y..Y......your my mom?" Twilights eyes started to glaze over as she felt the world around her twist.
Quickly rushing over Luna caught her daughter mere milimeters from the ground, "she, she fainted, I knew this was too soon I knew that if we told her now it would be too much sister!"
Looking at Luna from accross Twilight where she tried to get to her to catch her student, "she may have fainted but atleast now she can rest and in the morning when she has mulled through her thaughts she can make her descision as to either, ascend and become a princess to the royal family or carry on her fake mortal life in ponyville like this hasnt happened until she has to leave them, everything will be seen to tommorow"
"Still my sister, I am scared as to what she wil say," Luna picks her daughter up in a blue mist and moves her onto the bed, "Truely I am scared, what will my little star say tommorow?"
Author's Note
now i think it will need a bit of a re work but still if any one likes the initial idea feel free to make your own twist of the story and give us a post of it.
This will be the second story I have started, the idea came to me after reading lots and lots of celestia/twilight mother fics so i just really wanted to try doing one.
The sun glares through the window down onto the mare that sleeps in the room, "Spike! I thought I told you to stop opening the windows so early, Spike? *uhh*," pulling herself up with eyes closed, "OWW," pain spread through Twilights side as she stretched, did I fall or something and can't remember. Finally the mare opens her eyes but to a pitch black room, "what happened to the sun, huh, what, my mane, aahh, why is my mane so long....and..aa..a.and these hooves they arn't mine they are too long, what is happening?" suddenly it hits her, yesterdays events spill back through to her, moving her bangs out of her face she looks around the room.
The room was blue and had stars painted on the cealing, a map of equestria hung on the far left wall and had books shelves full of magic tomes on either side, on the right of the room was a door that opened out onto a balcony that had a telescope stood tall between the doors, finally their was the two big wooden doors with the moon emblem on them that had a guard in black armour against it, "Princess its good to see your finally awake, Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are already in the dining hall waiting so if you would wish to do you want to join them?"
"WHAT! what did you just say..P..P.PP...Princess, ME!?" jumping from the bed Twilight stumbles over to the closest mirror only to let out a scream so loud im sure even the noise could be heard at the top of the crystal mountains, "I..I.I.I have wings and my horn, my horn, its longer not to mention my mane, where has my pink streak gone...............blue...........its blue with white twinkles in the stripe, what the FUCK!!!" At this the guard jumps.
Walking over to the guard Twilight realizes just how big she really was now, she dwarfed the guard, for the first time she was the one looking down at another pony apart from the CMC or other little fillys and colts, this is so wierd , "so they are at the dining hall, I think its time I got some answers to why I now look like this!"
The doors burst open as the Lavender alicorn came rushing straight up to Celestia who was just drinking some tea, "WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!" twilight bellowed at her new aunt, her chest moving in and out with clear anger on her face.
To say Celestia was suprised that Twilight had not only shouted but directed it at her was an understatement, the cup that was in her magic shook and small drops landed on the table infront of her, "Well then my dear niece its so good of you to wake up because I certainly am now aswell haha," looking over to twilight after placing the cup down, she laughed awkwardly at the sight of Twilight who at the moment was quite overwhelming.
"Princess Celestia, a few minutes ago I woke up and had grew a meter taller, gained wings and have pain all over my body, I think I deserve an explanation, please," Twilights tone calmed down when she realized that she was talking to her mentor like she would a misbehaving filly, "erm I..I.I am sorry for raising my voice".
"Its quite alright Twilight, even I in your shoes would do the same if I woke up and all of a sudden my world was turned upside down," a noise came from the doors down the hall as a waiter came through them pushing a cart with food on it, "Ah heres the pancakes and syrup, now how about we sit and have some breakfast whilst we await Lunas arival, I'm sure she wont be long now".
"I wondered why she wasn't here, the guard said that you two would be here tegether already, Oh wait, what will I say to the girls now that I look like this, I'm goin to have to move away from ponyville arn't I?" a sad expression befell upon Twilights face as she slumped into a chair slapping her face on the table *uhhhh!*, "what next im related to Blueblood or something?"
"well actually.."
"Don't say it!" Twilight lifted to let the plate of food go infront of her, "faust this smells deliscious, why though I always have this in the mornings and what is this feeling thats tugging on me *unn*, its heavy and I can feel it at the tip of my horn"
Behind where Twilight is sat the doors open, "All in time my little star, we shall eat and then you can decide where you stand just know you life as you know it has changed but I will not make you do something you wish not too," Luna came walking into the room with a grey mare in tail, the mare was a pegasi who wore white glass' and had a yellow mane, quite the contrast between the two but still fitting, "for now eat then we shall explain what has happened to you both physically and mentally as I'm sure you've already found out how tempermental it is to be an alicorn".
At the throne room after breakfast
"Now my little star what happened last night was that you had fainted after we had our talk with you," Luna had a look of happiness but her smile would faulter ever so slightly now and then, "after this I had a discussion with you're aunt Celestia about your physical form and how you wouldn't have long left before it became dangerous to stay that way"
Celestia moves forwards closer to Twilight, "when you were born you had your wings and horn at the same as you do now, when you awoke I placed a sealing spell upon you so that you could grow without having trouble being raised at the castle," Celestia moved over to where there was seats as the two followed, "I also noticed at this time that your essance as an alicorn had a much more stronger affinity than either myself or Luna had and that your body was storing up more and more power, I had to keep visiting you to stop your magic from overflowing but I had not expected so much magic to be there when you were young, I had to make you my student with haste and put you in the twelve year old test, it was a mistake though to do this as your power went out of control showing your true power," picking up on Twilight's look of horror it seems her student caught onto being told it was a mistake that she became her student at all, "Let me rephrase that you were going to pass and I new it for a fact but I didn't think your power was at the level it was at the time, it shouldn't have been like that even alicorns when young only have a power equal to an early adult unicorn but you showed more than what I had at the time"
At this Twilight starts to ventalate slightly, "but thats.. can't be right"
"When that happened it was good that the people in the room who could see was only a few ponies close to myself because your desguise fell instantly, knowing I had to do something I used a stronger spell but this spell came with problems it would stay intact as long as it got the amount of magic from the user and its host to maintain it, I used our letters to send magic to your body to feed the spell and keep it in check but over time you're inate abilities as an alicorn grew and you fed the spell more and more, eventually I knew this spell wouldn't have been able to hold due to the amount of magic your body gave out," finishing her piece she turned to Luna to explain further.
Luna cleared her throat, "As sister says you have a larger amount of magic than either of us could ever dream of attaining, no other alicorn has existed with this amount of magic, the tugging you mentioned earlier can you still feel it?"
Twilights faced twisted and turned as she searched how she felt, "Ah, yeah I can feel a heavy feeling at the end of my horn"
"Now my little star I want you to concentrate upon that heavyness search for what is pulling at your magic and what you are connected to such as I and my sister are conected to ours"
Twilight sat there trying to do as she was instructed, I have no clue how to do this, how do I search for something I can't see............ WHAT.........WHAT .........."What am I seeing?"
Luna moves over to where Twilight is sat and places her horn upon her daughters, "My little star this is your connection such as mine is to the moon and celestias is to the sun in our solar system, yours however is much more stronger, you have all the stars under your grasp, now define star for me"
Twilight mumbles out, "balls of gases millions of miles away that give light to the night sky"
"Good but as you should know the sun itself is a star, now Twilight you have not one but a galaxy of these stars at different sizes at the tip of your horn that you can control, such as it is our duty to govern the sun and moon it will now be your turn to create the night sky as I do my moon, you may not wish too but you will have to do this to use your excess magic that will build throughout the day," moving back to her position as Twilight comes out of the trance she was in.
Speechless at the realization she was litterally the strongest being alive, "how can I just accept that I, but, I just can't be, what will happen to my life in ponyville and my adoptive family, do I have to move here now?"
Luna sighs at this question, "I..I.I would love it if you were to stay here and learn under my teaching to craft the night sky for a couple of weeks but after that you may descide what to do after that whether you wish to have yourself here or build your own kingdom it is your choice but let me say this, you can go back to ponyville if you may wish but know many will not look at you the same ever again, not to mention once we announce you to the population later this afternoon there will be many who flock to where you live in a chance to see the new heir to the throne"
"so your saying it would be a problem to stay in ponyville, that no matter what its in the best interest of everyone that I come here or, wait did you say build a kingdom, okay I might be the heir to the throne but in all honesty I don't think I could run a kingdom," shaking her head, overwhelmed and exhausted Twilight lay down.
"Well Twilight I myself believe that you my student would do wonders for modern civilization and in the first place don't you remember all the days spent with me in the throne room learning the ways of politics and studying the economy, truly myself and you're mother believe you are ready to have your own kingdom, you've shown so much progress and leadership, nightmare moon, Crysalis, Discord, Sombra, all these could not have been resolved without you Twilight, you know so much now, without question you are ready have the confidence to believe that you are," with a nod to Twilight and Luna she starts to turn around, "now I think we have let them wait long enough, Twilight as you can see there are three seats now next to my throne, the purple seat is now yours, cadences is the pink one and your mothers is the blue one," after ascending the stairs Celestia sat down on a golden throne, "and this is mine as you already know, have a seat and we can adress the nobles," waving a hoof to let the guard open the door as Twilight and her mother sat down.
As expected the ordeal with the nobles wasn't smooth as many were shocked to learn of Twilights royal leanage only pushing their heirs further away from the throne, most spat their proverbial dummies out and ranted for a couple of hours before inevitably having to give up knowing they had no choice in the matter. All that was left was to be revealed to the populace and see what their reaction would be but before that there were a few ponies she had to talk to.
After all the nobles left the room Twilight turned to the floor and let out a big sigh, "Erm Princes....... no, no, I mean Aunt Celestia, not gunna get use to that any time soon , before we anounce, well me, could I talk to the girls and spike," Looking past her mothers throne.
"It isn't for me to say anymore, well Luna can she do that?"
Luna turned to meet Twilights eyes, "well, if I give you the rest of today to go back to ponyville and sort out things can you promise to come back tommorow to be announced to the public?"
Twilight gulped at the thought of how her friends will react or even how she could move around town without being noticed since her new form is so FRIGGIN TALL!! could she do it in a day, "what if they came here then we could tell them then have the announcement, two birds one stone, right?"
After thinking for a while both Luna and Celestia nodded in agreement "we think that would be for the best I will have a letter sent now Twilight," Celestias horn began to glow and a quill and paper popped out of nowhere *scritch, scritch..............scritch scritch*, "there it is done they shouldn't be long now why don't you both go take a bath whilst we wait for them to arrive and I shall start the day court, then till later, sister.............niece," releasing her magic the note dissapears in a puff of smoke.
Author's Note
now some people might be like "what" at the moment completely confused as to where we are in the original MLPverse, I'l say its exactly the same and is just after season 3 but in future chapters some things might be changed to fit the story better.
Realization
Wind hurls past the golden carriage as it pass' through a tunnel, the sounds of friends talking inside, "Ah wonder what woulda happen to twilight for us to be needed at the castle, this all feels a bit rushed don't you think girls?" Applejack had herself lent against a window seat.
Saphire eyes turn to the cowpony, "well I'm sure it wont be much, I mean she it at canterlot with the Princess, I'm sure she is just caught up with spending some time there is all plus it means we can go to the castle to visit her highness herself so I'm not one to complain," Rarity had placed her hooves together squelling like a little filly at the thought of the castle and the guards, espescially that one with the maroon eyes she had encountered the last time she went there, "maybe if I am lucky I shall be fortunate enough to meet him again"
"Y'know sugarcube I do agree but I'm still worried"
A young drake hopped off his seat and moved to the left of the train the group was on, "were here guys, well we'll see what really happened soon so I don't think you will have to be worried for too long Applejack but if one thing its that I'm hungry and I hope were gunna eat with Twilight when we get to the castle," Spikes stumoche let out grumbles as the rest of the group let off giggles.
Arriving at the castle gates
A guard had came to meet the group as they arrived, after checking their letter from her highness Princess Celestia he issued an order to the guard behind him, "well steel solid, I want you to take these fine mares to dining hall C with haste we don't want our three highness' waiting now do we," a guard moved out of line and 'stumbled' his way to them, not the usually buff sort of guard you would see but not smaller than a mare, "he is new to the royal guard and needs training but he knows the castle well, I am very sorry I cannot lead you there myself but I have been given a note by the Princess that there was an accident? explosion at the eastern garden earlier today and I am to be the one leading the clean up so if I may ladies I would bid you G'day," the guard bowwed slightly before trotting off.
Rainbow dash flew down next to the rest of the group, "was I the only one who heard the number three in that sentance?"
"erm H..he might have just made a mistake when speaking I mean there is only two rulers and one of them isn't normally awake in the day so it can't be right, erm....... sorry," fluttershy suddenly quivered away under her mane as all the ponies around her looked in her direction, "I didn't mean to say the obvious"
A white hoof laid atop her wing, "well it must have been just that right now I think we should go see whats really happened to Twilight, shall we Fluttershy?" with the nod of their friend the group turned to the guard making him go stiff and rigid like a robot with a hoof shaking above his head in a salute.
"Y'know sitting there all this time with a hoof to your head must be tiring sugar, you can put it down you know," walking closer with the rest behind her Applejack gestures for the Guard to follow, "we already know the way to the place so you don't have to woryy about that but its easy to see your a tad bit jittery"
"Sorry its just I've been at the palace grounds just over a week now and you are the first non guard ponies I have been put in charge of.... I mean been asked to help, I thought I was just going to be a guard for a door or something easy but when I got here for traing I was sent to another barracks and was told I'd be trained under the captain," stuttering here and there the pony clearly wasn't comfortable.
"So your good at your job and your going to be a future captain, well arn't you just a catch?"
"Rarity!?" Appledash looked back at Rarity with a glare, rainbow and......fluttershy? were giggling behind her, "I'm sorry about her she'za, well, just ignore it." with a cough, "so sport were nearly there I'd suggest you get ready to say we have arrived, right?"
"AH!, I nearly forgot," rushing to the front, Steels dark black coat had a shade of pink under his helmet while he passed applejack, "Erm, ah, right, Princess Twilights Sparkles friends have arrived"
The group behind him stopped suddenly and in a chorus of confusion, "WHAT!!!!!," Raity fainted, so did spike whilst the rest of the group stood looking through two large doors at there friends latest 'change'.
"hehe, hi girls"
Thrity minutes of grueling explanations later
"So let me get this straight you," pointing a hoof at twilight, "and Princess Luna are mother and daughter and you are actually about a thousand and twelve years old?" a baffling look strook Raritys face while the rest stood there waiting in silance at this revalation.
"erm, yes"
"wow egghead you got tall"
"what"
"sorry, sorry, its just Y'know look at you, your tall," if it wasn't for the face that rainbow was making Twilight would have probably retaliated for the 'egghead' comment.
With a sigh Twilight looked down at her friends faces all with their own set of confusion, "trust me I know its weird, I mean I woke up to this just today after yesterdays, Oh you're a princess all of a sudden, to say I'm annoyed is a fucking understatement but what can I do?"
"TWILIGHT! darling that is not like you," Raritys harsh tone only came out when she knew something wasn't the correct way to act.
"Sorry its just apparently its not just my form thats changed but my mind aswell, I was told that not only do you grow and change and my magic itself grow stronger but along with all that my emotions would change too, so if I feel anything its heightened by my being an alicorn what I'm still getting use to," Twilights face showed sadness, not even trying to hide it she began to cry making dark patches on either side of her face, "I'm sorry girls if my change is too much for you I wont hold it against you if you want to leave"
"HEY IDIOT!!! no matter what changes as long as you're you then it doesn't matter to us if you're ten hoof tall or a shit monster for all we care!"
"erm what I think dashie is trying to say, erm is that we all care for you Twilight and that this doesn't change that," fluttershy walked over to the hunched over alicorn and placer her hoof over hers, "really it did shock us at first but we would never leave you Twilight," a voice so tender and caring.
Twilight looked up at her friends, no more faces of confusion, just faces of joy that beamed at her, wiping her tears, "okay but just know I don't want anyone changing moods on me after knowing who my biological parent is, it doesn't change the fact that I was brought up as a sparkle and don't want any such thing as bowing or anything, got it," with a stern look she asked the group.
The cyan mare flew over next to Twilight and huffed "you do know I wouldn't bow even if you asked, egghead, hehe, maybe if you were a faster flyer than me then I would but maybe that'l happen in another thousand years hahahaha!"
Shaking her head with a smile she knew that everyone was okay with this but one face still stood out with his little eyes gleaming up at her, "B...b but Twilight does this mean we have to move again?" before Twilight got the chance to answer the question the door the group came through opened to reveal both of the Royal sisters.
"thou does not have to worry, my little star can choose to have her residence in ponyville if she so wish's but if she wants to she may move back here before creating her own kingdom such as Cadence has her Crystal empire," taking seat at the table the group sat, "non-the-less I would be happy if I was to have a few years to learn how my little filly has fared these years and meet her mortal family, I must thank Velvet Sparkle for raising Twilight to be as brilliant as she is now"
Once again the room had a unison of looks, first to speak this time was Applejack, "erm Princess I am sorry to ask you to repeat that again but did'ya say her 'own' kingdom or am I starting to go senile like my grammy?"
"yes child her own kingdom, sorry if I stuttered or said something wrong I due...... I am sorry I am still learning to speak 'modern'", A maid pushed a cart around the table with numerous bevourages as Luna grabbed a cup in her magic taking a sip, "it is Twilights choice where she inhabits but I have said my opinion of ponyville and what would no doubt happen if she stayed there, nevertheless it is her choice"
"thats so AWSOME!!, well Twi what you gunna be doing then?" Rainbows outburst snapped the rest out of their trances, "are you gunna stay with us in ponyville or what?"
"I really don't know but Lun.....mom explained to me what would happen if I were to stay in ponyville, I don't want to and I know Spike won't want to aswell but I think it best if we moved back here," looking down to the young drake who had just grabbed her leg.
"but Twilight we've lived in ponyvill for so long now and...... and all of our friends are there can't we just stay there with everyone?" if the look in Spikes eyes didn't hurt her so much the rest of her friends did the job.
"Spike I really wish we could stay in ponyville but we can't, if we stayed people would come to see me even if I refuse the crown, there will also be people who are against me being related to a celestial being and try to hurt me and my friends, no one in ponyville will have their own peace anymore and that will be because I live there, so please understand Spike, I don't want to move but for the best of everypony I must, if you want you can stay and take over the library but I will miss you," tears once again stream the side of Twilights face again as her voice begins to tremble, "even though I'l miss you if you want to it is your choice I can't just pull you away from there"
"noooo! I don't want to leave you or them I want to stay together," the grip on Twilights leg kept getting tighter the dragon clung to her, "Twilight I would never leave you, you're like a...m.....m..mom to me," Twilight felt water on her leg where Spike had berried his face to.
"Sometimes it hurts to accpet the truth sugar, I think you made the right choice darl'n but I still don't like it M'sel," everyone but the two other alicorns were crying, even Rainbow with her pride couldn't stop them anymore, "still if its you're choice I'l help whatever way possible"
Luna walked over to the right side of Twilight, "I am sorry my little star, I never wanted this but it had to happen someday and it is better now rather than later where the reprecushion would be much worse," with one look at Twilights face Luna's heart had sank, "I..I.I really wanted to do this differently but my child we can't change the fabrics of destiny"
"For many years I was told my destiny was to gain friends and use the elements to help equestria but it seems I was lied to for many years and.............. sorry I..... I can't do this at the moment," Twilight span around moving away from the group but placed Spike on her back, running for where her 'mothers' bed chambers are.
The group of mare started the chase, "TWILIGHT!" but were stopped by Celestia by her shaking her head.
"I'm sorry we put you through this but it be best she left alone with Spike for now and let her calm down, her emotions are out of control, for now I suggest we all take our time to rest, my sister Luna and I must make a few arrangments for this afternoon but we shouldn't take long," the look on Celestias face was calming but even she could not have a mask what didn't crack every now and then as a small tear ran her cheek in thought of her student, Twilight please this was for you're own good that it happen now so please do not forsake you're mother for my actions .
Hours pass as the group rested and waited for Twilight
Twilight lay upon the bed curled around the baby dragon, stains under her eyes but a smile lay on her mouth at having Spike near her, "you know thats the first time you said something like that, I never knew how much words can strike you until I heard that one word"
The purple scales moved as two emerald eyes sprung open, "wha..what do you mean, Twi?"
Opening her eyes to meet Spikes she hugs the baby ever so tighty in her arms, "you know exalctly what I mean, will you please say it again for me, please"
Spike blushed and placed his head closer to Twilight, he could here her heartbeat *thump...thump...thump*, his own raced as he pushed the words out, "erm..........I always wanted to say it but............. it never felt right to, still I have always thought of you as my.......................... mom, ever since I was hatched you were there to my every waking hour, even though it might have been through Celestia's help it was you that raised me Twilight and you always felt like what a mother would be, I...I just wanted to be your son," the last part was quiet but just loud enough for Twilights ears to hear.
Twilights faced became a light shade of pink and her face had a pinkie sized smile sprung accross it, "now I know what it would be like for Princess Lun........... mother to be told her foal wouldn't wake"
"what do you mean Twilight"
"well since I slept all that time my mother never got to see me and interact with me, Spike I felt pain when I said you could stay in ponyville, not physical but I had a pain in my chest that no wound could compare, I probably wouldn't be able to stay myself if you weren't there with me spike, so I just wanted to say with all my heart I love you my 'son'"
Author's Note
now this chapter I tried to get the speech to work but it still feels a bit 'spat out' to me so if anyone feels like they could go through and nit pick at the chapter give me a PM and we can talk about editing it because I think it could have been better, nevertheless onto chapter four.
A week has passed since Twilight had decided to accept her position of a crowned princess of equestria and had decided that she would create a kingdom to call her own, Twilight had been given the task of creating the night sky along with her mother who she now can call with more ease, not only was she getting better at using her alicorn magic she started to attend the night court and was educated in how to govern a country by both Luna and Celestia, her friends had to go back to ponyville but Spike had stayed behind. The young drake himself albeit sad to leave ponyville wanted to stay with his 'mom' and now often refers to her with it too by Twilights asking ofcourse, quite a scene it made when a new face would here it for the first time.
A morning through Twilights eyes
Mumbles could be heard under pearl silk blankets as the light from the window glared, the sound of light steps could be heard behind two large white doors, "morning already *urrgh*," the room was a light shade of purple, same as lunas room the roof had stars, books were in their cases all around the room and at the far end was the two big wooden doors with Twilights Star emblem on it, a small creak came from the door, "please don't, really its too early"
"C'mon mom you asked me to do this, you said no matter what 'you' say get me I mean you out of bed, didn't you?" The dragon closed the door and came over to the bed in eyesight of the alicorn, with her new emotional build Twilight was more maternal than normal at every chance she had she would hug the child, "woah!" spike levitated in a purple hue next to Twilight.
"Five more minutes, just five and then we can go meet grandma K, pwease?"
"C'mon mom you know you won't just have five, so get up we have to go see about you're guards soon dont we and soon you're adoptive parents and brother are coming with Cadence from the crystal empire arn't they," trying to push himself from a crushing hug but failing Spike just relax's and enjoys the love he's being given.
"*aaaww* thats today isn't it," twilight lifted her head off of her pillow, her mane had stayed in the position it layed though when she did so, "but maybe I should shower first as being a god means my mane wants to defy gravity and we can't be having that now can we?" looking down to Spike who was clasping his mouth trying to hold the laughter in she started to tickle him on his stumoche.
"HAHAHAHA! M..MOM....S....TT.T....OP..HAHAHAHA! *HAAA* *haa* *ha*, that was unfair and you know it," a cheeky grin came across Spikes face and he hopped off the bed, "and yeah I think that a shower would help because *kmph* thats just too funny!" giggles had got the better Spike as he went to sit on a chair next to an oval stood mirror.
"Well then I guess I'l go take one but first I have to brush the knots out," Twilight got off the bed and moved behind spike to face the mirror, a brush in purple hue levitated and started to comb through the long hair, "I never really asked Spike but what do you think of the new stripe?"
Spike stood up on the chair and grabbed a bit of the mane, "I think it looks really........ nice"
"Spike?"
Spike looked up at Twilight before looking back down at the hair inbtween his claws, "Its just that the stripe you had before was the same as my scales before and it felt somewhat like it was a relation between us is all but I'm not saying the new stripe is bad, really its beautiful but still"
"Oh spike no matter what our bond will never fade, not anymore ok?"
"okay, mom"
"now hop off to the dining hall so we can start breakfast I'l be there in ten minutes after a shower okay"
Fifteen minutes later at the palace dining area
"Sorry I'm late I think the shower in my tower is a bit faulty, haha that rymed," a cheerful Twilight came walking through the double doors after the guard announced her entrance, Twilight had donned a set of silver regalia with trinzanite gems embedded into them, she was told it was proper etiquette to wear them though she did not like it she didn't want to dissapoint her new Aunt.
"Twilight my dear your very chipper today, something good happen?" Celestia was already sat at the table with her attendant mrs quill just behind her with scrolls that she seems to have been reading.
"nothing much just nice to be happy rather than sad is all plus Spike came to wake me up so I wouldn't be late but it seems that I was by a couple of minutes, hehe"
"now Twilight I wont tell you off for being late but just know if this was a meeting for the court in your new kingdom you would have been scrutanized by your public so just take into account it is just me this time but I know you usually have never been late, only when you choose to be or when an accident happens," Celestia motioned Quill to sit down, "but still are you ready to talk to your parents today?"
"well both my parents knew about me when you gave me to them so, I really don't know but they feel a bit distant to me now," Twilight began to stroke her arm and look toward spike, "still velvet might not be my biological mother but I hope she wont just treat me different now I know the truth, she wouldn't would she?"
"Twilight no person could live with a child and not have maternal love for them, just know I may have asked them to look after you but she truely loves you as a mother would there own foal, so she may not be your mother biologically no but she is your mother nontheless so you now have two mothers," taking a sip from the cup that she had, "it is just like Spike and you, he was not birthed by you was he?"
"No but.."
"Then I ask Twilight Sparkle what do you feel for the child?"
"I love him as any mother could but what does?..... ah I see, velvet had me the same way, how can I question the mother that raised me," pulling the young drake onto her lap she wound around him in a hug, "even if I'm not his biological mother I am still spikes mom and I am thankful to his parents for having him, if it weren't for them I would have never of had him," Spike clamped onto his mother knowing she needed comfort, " thankyou Spike"
Putting her cup back down, with a smile Celestia put a smile back on her face, "you know Twilight, since I started to train you I know one thing, give you an essay to write you would give me a sheet what would ace the unicorn accademy but give you problems such as these you are quite hardheaded but thats what makes you, 'you' so just know even I hold you like a mother but I guess I'l settle for being an amazing Aunt instead," a small giggle escaped Celestias lips as Luna walked in and sat down.
"What was that dearest sister?"
"nothing Lulu, just a conversation between me and Twilight, I will need to hold daycourt today will you and Twilight be joining me or are you going to prepare for the Sparkles arrival later today?"
"Yes I think that preparation should come first in this instance, if my little stars parents are coming I must make everything the best it can be and I must meet this 'Shining armor', he will be a wonderful addition to the family as a new son"
"I am sorry to inform you Lulu but our niece Cadence might have already beat you to the punch"
"I was not thirsty and Cadence was on her way with the rest of the Sparkles wasn't she?"
The room burst out in laughter as the navy blue alicorn became a bright pink, "what was it something I said you all know I'm still getting use to the modern way of speaking," with a huff she looked between her daughter and sister completely oblivious of the meaning Celestia made.
"Oh you are too cute sometimes Lulu, what I meant was that our niece has married Shining already, so I am afraid making the boy a prince now is too late as he already is one," the grin on Celestias face grew as she knew she had gotten her sister with her joke, HAHAHA oh my me that was hilarious, Lulu I love this too much , "But he is part of the family now and you can meet Cadence for the first time too she has been an alicorn for nearly three hundred years now"
"How she is not yours, unless she had ascended by herself, but that hasn't happened since our late mother"
"her magic is definately powerful enough but it was the nature that made her ascend to Alicorn status as she can give love through magic, it is truely a sight to behold, she even runs the crystal empire that our mother created"
"She has our mothers power, Why haven't I met her yet Its nearly been a year?
"well she herself was busy with running the crystal empire so they don't have much time and you yourself was or should I say still getting use to *Kumphh* society *kumph* *hahahahahaaa*," Celestia couldn't hold her pokerface, Mrs quill also had her hoof held up to her mouth too as her sense of humour was much like Celestias, "I'm sorry but its still funny, I'm sorry *kkcht*, really, *haa*, sorry but seriously you couldn't have been ready for more since you were adjusting back into moving the moon and catching up the the modern world"
An eyelid was half closed with the eyebrow above it raised, "okay!, I accept that I may have been much worse then with my speech and needed lessons to catch up with society but that doesn't mean I need you to laugh like a bufoon at my problem now does it?"
"I am so sorry Little Sis but it was funny"
"Fine, so Twilight, Spike shall we set off after breakfast is done, we have lots to prepare for don't you think, what do you say to having our get together at you're ballroom under you're tower"
Still holding Spike as he munched at the plate of blue crystals infront of them, "I think that would be good but people will have to climb all those stairs.."
"Don't fret my little star I will set up a teliportation spell that makes anypony that pass' its line go straight through the doors to your tower ballroom, alright?"
"Okay then but what do we have to prepare for?"
"why your, mine and spikes outfits and such, what else" with a small giggle she started at her own food, "I hope our little Spike likes suits because I think he will look absolutely adorable in one, *eeee* *blush* *cough* Sorry a tad bit too excited"
Twilight giggled at her mother shaking her hooves infront of her like the CMC would when they had an idea for a cutie mark, "okay mom after we have breakfast were all yours for the rest of the day," with her magic Twilight began her food joining the rest in the regular morning rutine.
Waiting in the ballroom for the Sparkles
"*awwww* my feet hurt, mom why did we have to walk around in grandmas closet for all them hours and seriously how did she have that selection of 'dragonswear'" Spike was sat with a black coat and red bow tie that was clasped to a frilly white shirt, "seriosly my feet are killing, mom?"
Twilight paced back and forward as the clock grew ever nearer the deadline for the guests to arrive, she was wearing a slick black dress with a rouge bow just above her tail, as she pace she mumbled, "what if they act differently, what if I'm not bbbff's lsbff anymore what if.. what if"
"MOM!!" catching twilight attension Spike had to shout, the shout wasn't all that loud but it echoed through the dome shaped room, "really stop worrying you know nothing will have changed, apart from you being taller than then they will love you all the same right?" Spike never like seing his mom in emotional stress and always would give anything to give support, "plus you have me here, I promise I wont leave you alone even for a second, not even for the ruby encrusted dohnuts"
"Haha not even for the ruby encrusted dohnuts eh? you must be serious," pulling the drake into a hug, "thanks Spike, I know that nothing will have changed but I still can't stop worrying"
The sound of the teliportation spell was heard from the entrance of the ballroom, "Are you ready my little star, they will be hear soon, they have arrived"
"yes mother, but what if mom and dad and brot....."
"do not fret I said, nothing will have changed plus it just means we have a bigger family and I am excited to meet my new brother and sister velvet and nightlight also my new niece and nephew, Cadence and Shinning," clearing her throat, "now no more of this gloomy atmos my dear Twilight, Its time for a family get together"
Once again the portal sounds off
"LITTLE SIS!" a smartly dressed colt walked up to Twilight with another alicorn not too far behind him, "wait, let me take that back hehe it should be big sis now, right Twilight," having to crane hishead up the colt carried on, "what no hug for your big brother?"
Twilight burst into tears at his words and clasped her arms around him, "I..II.I.," "I really thought you would treat me differently but...b..b....but I'm sorry for thinking that Shining"
"Aw Twily you know nothing would have ever changed"
The pink alicorn walked up to the pair and joined their embrace, "you know we will always love you little sister erm cousin erm sis........ whatever you were my sister first and I really don't care I just love you Twilight"
"Thanks Cadence, I love you both too," moving away from the embrace Twilight spots another pair of ponies, one mare with a white coat and white and light purple hair with three stars on her flank and a colt with light blue fur and a dark blue mane with two moons as his cutie mark.
"Erm........hi mom, dad"
The pair walked over as the mare started to cry, " *sniff* Twilight you look beautiful in that dress, you have grown so much," wiping her tears they both embrace Twilight.
Again the emotional alicorn starts her waterworks, I'm really glad I opted out of maredust over my eyes or I might have been more of a mess than what I look now , "t...t...thankyou"
A voice that was deep replied, "What for Twilight, for hugging and loving our sweet child?"
"no dad for being there for me for all these years, for raising me, for being my parents and giving me a family and for my brother, for everything"
"Twilight hunny, we both love you beyond the stars and back you know that, me and your father do and always will," a hoof raised to their daughter who now towers over them, "I may not be your biological mother but I still will love you like any other mother would love their foal so remember that my little angel"
"okay," the embrace lasted a few minutes as the family had its reunion, "well who would be my new sister and brother and who would be my niece and nephew as I cannot wait any longer"
"Its very nice to meet you you're Highne.."
"were family here no one has a title, I presume your miss Sparkle?"
"yes your maj... Luna and this is Nightlight my husband and over there is our shiny and cady"
In a quick movement what suprised everypony Luna leant over and hugged Twilights parents and then over to her brother and Cadence and did the same, "I've been waiting to do that all afternoon, I finally feel relieved, now Velvet"
It took a second for the mare to respond after being suddenly hugged by Luna who didn't look the type to have physical interactions, "y..y yes your majes.....Luna"
"we must thank you dearly for what you have done for us, in my absence you have raised our little Twilight into a wonderful pony," Twilight began to blush, "and I must ask that you never treat her any different she is as much your child as she is mine, I do not plan to monopolize our daughter, instead I insist that we get to know each other instead as sisters so please do come more often to the castle as both I and Twilight will surely enjoy the compony, ofcourse Nightlight your welcome too but I don't think talking of dress' and such is your thing so"
"Actually Luna, I myself am in the dress making business as a critique for the trott way so I don't think I would mind"
"Plus I may seem to know of dress' but its all nightlight who picks it out for me so I probably wouldn't be much of a conversation maker about dress'"
"Well now, still I think that it would be lovely for you to come to see Twilight and have dinner with us as a 'family'" Luna walked over next to the two and ushered them off in their own conversation with Celestia joining them.
"So then sis whats it like being royalty and being an alicorn"
"weird, but I'm getting use to it," Twilights eyes were averting to the floor were Spike was, "plus its a big change but I think its one we needed right son?"
Both their faces looked to question what she meant until their eyes fell on spike, Shinings face gained a grin, "So then Spike, you finally said it huh, nephew," Shining put a hoof on the dragons head and rubbed it in a playful manner while smiling at him.
Spike blushed and nodded at him, "I said it by accident but....but I don't regret doin it"
Speaking these words got a "AWW" from both Twilight and Cadence that would usually be weird if it weren't for them knowing where it comes from now.
"well I now know where your gestures come from cadence, I always thought you were just eccentric with showing emotion now I know its because of being an alicorn, I can't seem to control myself anymore, when I see Spike I just want to hug him now," lowering her heading to nuzzle the little drake, "Hehe I guess its one of the good things about my change"
Cadence hopped over to the side of Twilight, "I'm affraid thats just your instincts their, I don't really have them since I ascended so I'm just like this naturally, if you have the love spread it"
"Ha, same old cady, hows the new empire?"
"Its good, nothing happened since sombra and the citizens have become more happy, I can feel their love grow day by day," with the last bit of her sentance Candence and Shining locked eyes for the inevitable being the couple with the love god.
"Spike, don't look, you two should really get a room for that!" Twilight had her eyes averted and red flushed across her face.
"C'mon Twily I'm sure you have someone that you like at the moment right plus you're old enough for it now not to mention a godess at that, sure Spike might be a bit young but he understands right nephew," a small laugh of pride comes from Shining at the word nephew.
"Ew no, thats all icky," spike had stuck his tongue out as it rasped off his lips.
"hahahaha, well maybe you'll understand when your older sport"
Twilight looked over to her parents and her well parents and looked back, "well I best go see what they're upto or they might spill some embaressing beans all over the place and I should probably talk to mom some more since I haven't seen them for so long, It's nearly been a year now"
Twilight started to walk over to the group, before getting close the windows in the room began to shake, several of the windows broke as ponies rushed into the room, "Everypony down now, we want the newly crowned princess," Before anything else happened a person in Black armor had rushed up to Twilight with his horn aglow with magic ready to make his assault, "Miss Sparkle my mistress would like to have your time this evening", smoke began to build up in the room where the other black guards stood.
"MOM!! HELP!!"
In unison the pair of mothers bellow, "TWILIGHT"

The darkness
Twilight could not see or hear anything in the room she lay, no muscle in her body could move, no words escaped her lips.
A crowd of ponies stood around the lavender alicorn as she lay unconscious on the floor, "Twilight, please wake up, Twilight!" Spike was sat next to her with both arms attached as he cried, Twilight had collapsed moments before, everyone in the room rushed to see what had happened.
"It's alright spike I'm sure shes just tired from all the work," Celestia tried to calm everypony in the room by explaining about how Twilight overworked herself getting ready for her new kingdom, "Luna could I talk to you in private for a moment," both alicorns moved out of ears reach, "Luna this isn't supposed to happen this fast, do you know what has happened?"
"No sister, As you know its usually quite a few years more before this happens as mine did and you'res as well, still we haven't informed her of this yet, I peered into her dream state and it is what we fear, we must be careful about how we explain this to her but for now we must sort out this situation so it doesn't affect anypony else," the worried look on Luna's face became calm as she turned back to the group, "Don't worry I'm sure Twilight will be fine, she has been working to the bone and has worried about how she should act now being a princess, we have tried to calm her but we only get problematic looks, hopefully with her family here for a few days she will get some well deserved rest," as she said this the alicorn on the floor grumbled and began to squint at the lights touching her eyes.
"*ah* e..e.everyponys here, where the....," Luna looked at Twilights face and she knew then that she should not go any further with what she was saying, "Ah, I must have fainted *haha* don't worry I..I..i'm sure with a bit of rest I'l be okay."
"Careful Twily get up slowly okay," Shining placed a hoof under Twilights side as she was getting up, "what happened all we heard was a thud then we turned to my sis sprawled on the floor, if it is the work the calm it down will you please"
Cadence looked up from Twilight over to Celestia, "Aunt Celly please tell me you don't let her work to the bone till she collapses, I'l say this once, no matter what she says you have to make her stop at some point if shes getting this tired"
The white alicorn just nodded to this in compliance to her niece, "Now my dear student I think it is best you sit down for now and we can get you something to eat to get you're strength back"
After that the night went smooth apart from an album that was brought by velvet, many photos of the young filly in different dress' and then one with both her brother and her in nightmare night costumes, many memories recorded to be shared but nevertheless all were embarrassing to the young alicorn, the night ended with all going back to the VIP sleeping quarters leaving Twilight and Luna to walk back to their quarter alone.
"You might have many questions my little star," Luna nuzzled Twilight lightly as they walked, "but for now you must rest all will be answered in the morning before we begin the guard recruitment, plus I think our little spike here needs his rest as he is already sleeping, I'l take him to his room for you," Luna grasped Spike gently in her magic and placed him on her back, "I will see you tomorrow my little star"
"Goodnight mother," and in a whisper, "goodnight Spike," nodding to her mom Twilight went through her doors, Still, what was that creature and who were those dark armored unicorns .
The next day in Luna's study hall
A knock came at the door to the dark room, "You may enter," the doors open to Twilight walking through, Luna didn't turn her head but recognized the hoofsteps, "Twilight my dear, come sit down I'l be with you in just a minute"
Luna placed a pair of reading glass' onto the book she was just writing in and turned to Twilight, "how do you feel today, have you had anymore dreams like yesterday at all?"
"No mother, I can still feel it though, its strange I've never felt a dream before but now I can, why?
"As an alicorn we have many abilities apart from our magical boost, we can also enter dreams, that is why you can still feel the dream but I'm afraid thats only half wright"
"Half wright?"
"Yes, you see it was a dream but it wasn't at the same time, it was a possible future"
"A possible future, of what?"
"You remember when you saved me from nightmare moon my little star?"
"Yes of course"
"Well when I was a young alicorn I had a dream or rather a vision of a mare with saphire dragon eyes and a body of black mist, she would tell me my end is nigh and nightmare moon would shroud the world in darkness, I was scared at the time so I consulted with my mother"
"G..G..Grandmother?"
"Yes, I was told that all true birth alicorns are born with a darkness within themselves, only controlled by emotion, dark emotions will make you lose control, when I thought you were not waking and you're father had passed I could not keep my emotion under control and lost my will to nightmare moon, even when my sister intervened to help me I would not accept the helping hoof and in that process forced Celestia to lock me on the moon, quite fitting for the creature I had become," Luna never looked away from Twilight but could not stop herself from starting to shake, "I'm afraid to say you also have this darkness my child, If you lose to your darker emotions, anger, sadness, jealousy, hatred, you will give way to the creature who dwells within you"
"Eclipse, thats what it said," Twilight closed her eyes, "It said that I would lose control and that eclipse would rule"
"That is the darkness, never listen to that voice, you must promise me, that is my only wish"
"I promise but I don't know if I can handle it mom I..I.I..I............. I didn't want to think about this but now I'm an alicorn what about my age, what if when my friends and family grow old and pass on I can't handle it?"
"I'm afraid this is one thing I cannot help you with, myself and Celestia both had to watch friends and lovers pass, myself had to watch you're father pass on early as he was my guard captain, the best Pegasus I have met but time could never let us be together forever as we wanted, he died fighting griffons and died at the age forty seven, a very young age but still for a pegasi it was quite old, I've had many relationships but he was the one I wanted a family with, he gave me you Twilight and for that I will never forget his love"
"My father was a pegasus, wow what was he like"
"He was quite the handsome colt, dark purple just a hue darker than yours, with a black mane, his eyes were diamonds to me, they were crimson red and they pierced my heart the moment I saw them"
Luna opened her eyes to Twilight holding back tears, "*sniff* *sniff* I.II..I wish I could have met father," Luna also had some tears but she held them back.
"You do not have to worry, you're father loved you more than you could ever know, every night for many years he stood near you're bed and read you stories whilst you slept, you never made a move but he was adamant about reading them to you," one tear had made an escape, "still I wish I never lost control when he passed but at least I'm here now"
Minutes passed in silence, Luna coughed to break the silence, "now we must head off to you're study as I'm sure miss quill and Nightshade has waited long enough for us"
"Nightshade? why is he there?"
"Nightshade is my captain from the night guard, he will help you pick your captain, lieutenants and guards, then he will train them," Luna quickly packed her table equipment away and headed for the doors with Twilight in tow, "he is very experienced as he worked under Celly for many years, Oh and you might want to know of his race"
"What do you mean, like theres some race that no pony knows of?"
"You've seen them before but I don't think you will have taken much notice, many are just the same as everypony else but the pegasi of the night races have dragon like wings instead of feathers, many have heightened senses mainly in the eyes, making them able to see in the dark and shy away from light, thats also something you have but you never notice due to never being in a dark lit room at night, unless you already have found this out yourself"
"I can see in the dark now too what am I now batmare?"
"Close but no, hehe alicorns have all races flow through their essence as a being, anyways he will help you with your guards," the two guards infront of large wooden doors move to open them to Twilights study revealing both Mrs Quill and Nightshade.
The guard in dark blue armor rose from his seat and bowed to the two alicorns, "You're majesty's, I am here as requested and have been briefed by Mrs Quill of my duty, Princess Twilight I will do my best to help you in you're choices"
"STOP RIGHT THERE!!" the guard jumped at Twilights shout, "first drop the princess, call me just Twilight, I only let people do formalities when its meetings and well formal stuff," the guards face was shocked as his eyes flitted between Twilights and Luna's.
Luna tried her best to not laugh but the guards face was priceless, "*kmmtch* nightshade I would do as she says but first close you're mouth else ponies think you weird"
Nightshade took a few seconds to come back to reality before shaking his head violently, "yes you're highn..... Twilight *kukumph* as I was saying, we have listed the many ponies who want to join you're guards, we already have tended to the ones who can't be guards for obvious reasons such as age, health, etc. but apart from that the rest is just to nit through"
Twilight looked through the room and onto the table, a stack about three hoof high was on the table, "Just asking, how many applicants are we looking at because I've been told the guard usually only is around five hundred to six hundred"
"Around six thousand you're maj.... Twilight, it was around nine before"
Moving over to where the rest sat, Twilight sighed, "at least I'm use to paper work now but this is going to take too long, we have to divide this stack, I want three separate piles for each race on pony,"
Around half an hour pass' as they sort the stack of papers and as they do get rid of around a third at the same time, "right, now we have around 2000 unicorns, 1500 pegasi and 1800 earth ponies, we haven't even made a dent in this pile, well I want to sort this pile further then, first nopony over the age of 25, if trained put them here," pointing a hoof to one part of the table, "I'm going to make three sets of guards adding up to 600, 100 advance guard, 200 main guard and 200 plain guard, maybe have an extra 100 for reserve," rubbing her temples she feels a hoof on her side finding her mother giving her support, "well best get started or we'll be here forever getting this done"
For many hours they nit picked through the pile placing many in the no go pile but not enough so Twilight devised a plan to meet these ponies and split them further in to three more groups of magic users, sky guards and ground tacticians, over a space of a week they had been put through rigorous training methods leaving the inexperienced behind, with around 1000 left divided evenly in the three divisions there was still a small number of them left, the applicants who were trained beforehoof were accepted as the advanced guard with the odd pony here and there who also got into that division then there were three subdivisions, 200 unicorns made up the mages, 180 earth ponies made up the ground troops and just about 120 pegasi made the air guards with a 100 reserve guards just in case something happened.
In front of the sunset guards
Nightshade cleared his throat and addressed the crowd, "you have all been accepted in to Princess Twilights honor guard, I will now announce you're captain and subdivision leaders," four helmets were on a table with an Item each next to them, "First the unicorn lieutenant, will Crystal Scepter step forward"
A mare stepped forward, red fur with a blond mane wrapped around her horn, "Here sir"
"Step forward to this position and accept you're gear," Nightshade placed a helmet and horn ring on the mares head that was silver, made specifically for a unicorn, " I give you lieutenant Scepter"
A round of applause came from the gathered unicorns, "now will the earth pony Iron Hammer step forward"
A buff looking pony stepped from the crowd with cheers from his group, "SIR!! Here SIR!!" he had a brown fur coat and a black mane that was short.
Nightshade was taken aback a bit by the sudden cheers but carried on, "I give you this helmet and map sash," once again a helmet made specifically for his race was given and this time an cylinder map holder with silver metal engraved armor was given to him, "not only do you have the metal to back you up you are a great tactician. Now will the pegasi Stealth Thunder make his way to the stand"
"Sir," a light green coated colt came forward to the stand making no noise, his hair was just a darker shade of his fur but had blond streaks.
"to you I give this helmet and these tail binders," again the helmet and Item was passed to him and the pony joined the other two, "now for the captain will the unicorn Midnight Flash please come up"
A colt stepped out of the front row, he had a slender body but wasn't skinny he had just the right amount of body muscle, he had a pitch black fur coat and marble white mane,his eyes were silver, "Sir, here sir!"
"Captain come here and take you're equipment then stand by you're lieutenants," another helmet designed for unicorns was given to him but it had parts of the helmet in dark purple, he was also given a sword in a purple sheath, "report to you're Princess then fall in line."
He paced over in front of Twilight giving a quick bow and received one back then went to join his other three fellow guards, "you have all passed through vigorous training and succeed but these four show leadership and a levelheadedness that I hope you all will strive for in the future endeavors that I'm sure Princess Twilight will take you through, so here they are you're captain Midnight Flash *CHEERS* unicorn lieutenant Crystal Scepter *CHEERS AND WHISTLES* ground lieutenant Iron Hammer *CHEERS* and air lieutenant Stealth Thunder *CHEERS* there you have you're leaders, for now you will join the daily routines of canterlot and learn the skills needed for not only being a guard but being useful for the public"
Twilight walked forward next to Nightshade, "Soon we will have a kingdom and I need my guards in top shape, I will regularly visit each sector and also teach some of the unicorn divisions offensive and defensive magics, for now you may retire to you're bunkers and rest for two days after such time I will send out a messenger with times and schedules to each sector for their respective tasks, that is all, apart from you four I wish for yo to join me for dinner."
The four guards saluted and in unison "YES, YOU'RE MAJESTY," Twilight looked over to Nightshade with a bland look.
Twilight facehoofed "Well there is always a place to start, first drop the majesty,its Twilight not princess or any other title unless were at a formal event got it?"
In unison "Yes, Twilight"
Twilight nodded, "And stop with the rigidness I wont bite you're heads off, sheesh"
"Erm .... Twilight were would it be that we are going," Midnight shared a mutual confusion with the rest of the troops.
"Like I said I want you all to attend for dinner, I cant have guards who I don't know personally now am I correct," they all nodded, "good now come along you can meet my family, you already know the Princess' but I want you all to know my son so that if any danger happens he is the one I want you to take priority of"
The group traveled through the garden to pass by all the nobles who crowded the halls in chance of meeting Twilight to win her side although really they just want to dig their teeth into me to get control of my new court that's being created , twenty so minutes passed as they arrived at the dining area, "Take a seat everypony, there are menus or if you have a specific dish you want prepared I'm sure Revaire will gladly create the dish without trouble," many just shuffled their own menu's awkwardly except once, stealth sat there with an expression that didn't change.
Stealth lifted a hoof, "I'l just take eggs beans and hay," everypony apart from Twilight turned to him in a shocked manner, "what? she did say we could order anything," Revaire just quickly scribbled down some notes.
Crystal cleared her throat, "If you don't mind I'l just have a simple salad"
"Hay bacon for me on whole bread," Iron didn't talk much, he liked to get to the point.
Placing the menu down and looking to Revaire, "*clears throat* Just something simple for me revaire, Erm Twilight if you don't mind me asking what exactly is needed from us to be here, from what I have come to understand the new kingdom wont be built for a few months and you're guards will only need training for now so why would you announce us so soon at this party for the nobles?" Midnight's face had a kind but stern feature.
Putting her china cup back to the table Twilight turned with a mischievous grin on her face, "Firstly, the nobles, they will expect me to be a pushover being the fourth princess, many will try to get their hooves on my assets when I get empowered upon my throne, second, unwanted guests around myself and my studies, I've noticed that a certain Colts henchponies have been sneaking around in the shadows gathering information upon what I do in the day, Stealth this is were you come in, I want you to gather a team to stay out of sight and ear but find out who the culprit is"
Stealth just nods quickly before plowing into the food that was just brought from the kitchen.
Nodding back, "Crystal, I want runes and glyph's placed upon my living quarters as well, just in case they try to get a bit more personal and Iron I want you to study the grounds and have some training regoment created for troops to quickly move to the places I want you to go when told, I will not be taken lightly if someone wants to know me, I'l make sure they damn well know me good! got it!" she placed her hooves onto the table and looked at them all who nodded.
Midnight spoke up, "don't worry nothing will harm you while we are around....."
"HAHAHAH, thats funny, I'm not worried about being harmed thats just laughable, I just want to know who wants to get to know me so I can thoroughly get to know them, just a precaution is all nothing to truly be worried about plus I already think I know who it is"
"ERM who do you think it would be then" Midnights face was scrunched at his job already being done by the one he was supposed to protect.
"Woah nelly this is good grub *looks up at the rest with an embarrassed look* ........... hehe it is tho ain't it?" Crystal just buries her face behind her bangs.
With an eyebrow raised Twilight answers both questions, "yes it is good..erm......grub? and no I wont say anything until you think you know who it is, this is my first task for you, I solved it in twenty minutes, you have til tommorow, for now though eat then we can go to the garden party tonight"
"MOM!"
Unanimously, "A dragon?" all the guards had looks of confusion as their eyes bolted between Twilight and Spike, Iron spoke for the group oddly, "I would have thought this son would be little unicorn or pegasi not baby dragon" his thick moscony russian accent spoke the words with intervals.
Spike and Twilight burst out laughing, "ha, never gets old, so I'm guessing big and burly is you're main captain then mom"
"Afraid not its Mr skinny over here," She looked over to a peeved face, "*PFFT* *HYSTERIC LAUGHTER* haaaa......haa... sorry, just couldn't help it you're all acting like robots around me, liven up"

Midnights came through the doors to Twilights room, "Twilight, everything is as you have asked, we have found the culprit but haven't initiated capture, by your order we shall apprehend them," Said with a salute.
Both Twilight and Spike turn to him as she leans back in her chair, "that was fast, well done...... captain, now lets have some fun with this, I want a decoy, have her go to the gardens with you and talk about a meeting that will happen here at ten thirty, of course this is completely fake, with the runes we should be able to freeze them in face, take pictures and have our little bit of fun with them, yes?"
"At your order then, your majesty"
"Haha, do it," Twilight turned back to her studies.
In Midnight Flash's Office
The leaders of the Sunset guard were having a meeting in the captains quarters about what Twilight had planned, fairly large room, a desk with its chair that faced three brown leather chairs, Midnight addressed the group, "With this plan set in motion we shall capture those who threaten our princess, this is our first task that was given we can't fail," he then turned to Crystal, "We need two decoys, one of Princess Twilight and one of myself, Twilight has asked that the decoys converse about a private meeting tonight in her study quarters involving just the five of us, knowing how they move they will have someone go in for information but knowing that noble he will do it himself"
"Our real problem lies with the nobles assistant, although he may be a sniveling worm he is quite adept with magica traps and wards, this is where we will need your ground troops Iron and several of your elite mages Crystal, Find him and replace him with another decoy so that our rat doesn't suspect a thing, after which I want your guards Iron to be stationed at the east and west alligned corridors to the room in waiting for the noble, that
"What about me, sir?" Stealth asked.
"I want you on look out for any help that bigot would ask to help him, keep a distance and if any do show, silence them with non lethal force, were looking to catch a peeping tom, not kill off enemies"
"got it," He saluted and then the rest followed suit.
Midnight saluted back, "Dismissed"
Near Twilights Quarters
A shadow loomed closer to Twilights room, voices escaped from there telling it that he was right, his assistant said that Princess Twilight was going to have an important meeting and he quickly took the bait, "Just wait Twilight Sparkle, I will get you where I want you, you will be mine"
Inside the room, all acted through a studied script knowing that the shadow came closer, Stealth was talking to then through magic telepathy that Twilight was channeling, "Princess, he has nearly arrived at the spot, it wont be long and we will have him," Twilight mentally nodded as she carried on her charade.
As soon as a boon of magical light radiated from the corridor, a horde of ponies sprang into action as numerous spears and swords were placed upon the offenders neck as Twilight came out from her room dropping the disguise to be Crystal, Twilight then walked dow from the west corridor with midnight as fear rattled in the blue orbs of the intruder, "SO....... Blueblood, what is it that you seek in my bedroom that is so important that you had to come to see it yourself," as they drew closer Midnight also unsheathed his blade and placed it under Bluebloods chin.
"Its alright, everypony step back, I want to see him so that I may belittle him more, I was expecting this of you, you never liked me much had you, since I was little you would pick on me but this Blueblood I didn't think possible, moving on my privacy in my quarters and spying upon me and my guard, that was a bad move upon your part," Twilight sighed as she moved closer, "For this I will make one threat," Twilights horn glowed as a puff of smoke covered Bluebloods clothes and a camera appeared in Twilights magical grasp, "This should teach you a lesson not to mess with me"
Blueblood if he wasn't already paralyzed from movement most surely would be now, his white tuxedo was gone, now what had been there was a frilly black tutu, white tights and a frilly cap with a duster, a french maid outfit now adorned Blueblood, "You wouldn't, you would dare I will tell aunt Cellestia upon you"
"Apparently I am her niece, so we both share the same aunt, If you tell I will too, now so that you don't do this again," *Click*, "This should stop you for a while, if you try this again I will release these to the press, 'Prince is really Princess who dreams of frilly stockings', sound good to you?"
"Thats just evil"
"No, its tactfully getting rid of a rat, and I am really sick of the smell of the rat that has been following me lately so I got rid of it, Midnight," Midnight stood at attention, "see to it that he is removed from this section of the castle and then report back immediately, everypony else thank you for the demonstration, that is all, Crystal, Iron and Stealth, I want to see you back here at noon tomorrow, don't be late"
Ten Minutes Later
Midnight moved quickly back to Twilights room to report on getting rid of the nuisance, when he arrived Twilight was removing her regalia one by one and placing them on her desk, "Your Majesty, I have removed Blueblood from the quarter, what would you have me do now?"
Twilight took off the last piece of her jewelry and then took a seat next to her dresser, "what did I say yesterday, no robot around me, you aren't my slaves and you aren't on trial so loosen up will you, tonight I have to attend one of moms outdoor parties where some ponies and gryphons must be greeted, there will also be some night pegasi who run behind the scene things for my mother, what really chives me though is I cant attend without a partner and I as said, you will have to attend it as my partner for now, I'm sorry to trouble you," Twilight apologized.
"Its perfectly fine with me Princess," Twilight glared at him, "I mean, Twilight, I don't really have nothing to do, and I moved here from manehattan so I wouldn't be heading home, I would most likely just go back to my bunker and began my nightly training regiment," Much to Twilights pleasure Midnight sounded more calm rather than his cold robotic voice he usually put up, "Plus, I would feel better if I stayed closer to you when at these events, you don't know what or who could be planning there"
"Thank you Midnight, it helps me greatly for you to agree but I think that no pony or otherwise would dare to try something unless it was Discord but he is reformed and happily living with Fluttershy in their odd but cute homely way, I want you to go and get dressed into the proper attire as this isn't a formal but it is classy, I can't have a partner who is clunking and clanging everywhere he goes can I?" She stated with an eyebrow raised, "Be back here at seven thirty, that gives you two hours, quite a lot of time, plus I need to go meet my new Seneschal, I will meet you back here then, don't be late"
"Yes, Princess Twilight," He bowed and then retreated out of the room.
"Well then, off to meet the one who will be helping me as my assistant and head maid, cant keep Celestia waiting then," Twilight packed some things into a case and then had them put into her mane, her mane had slowly began to look more and more ephemeral and began to change to look like Luna's and Celestias, this meaning that it became like a pocket of reality, strangely enough barely anypony knew what the hair really was, it was like a zip for anything you need but made no weight, if you threw a sofa into the mane it would disapear but then all of a sudden at another place you could pull it back out as if it wasn't touched. Twilight moving to the door, "Oh! nearly forgot that, she sprang back to the dresser and moved a tiara back to her head, "Okay all set"
Celestias Dining hall
Princess Celestia sat at the dining table waiting for Twilight to arrive, Her Senechal was sat to her left with a very angry face, the reason for this face was that her daughter had not arrived at the time they asked. This daughter was the soon to be Senechal of Princess Twilina Bella Sparkle the first, so to say its the biggest event of her daughters life was an understatement and if she so much as annoyed the new princess she was likely to be fired before even getting the job.
Celestia placed her cup down and began reading through the Canterlot times like she usually would when she got some time to herself, she knew things would eventually fall in to place when it came to her student so she wasn't really that bothered how the morning went so far. Mrs Quill stood up again for the fourth time this past thirty minutes and began to trot up and down once again, "THAT! damn that child, she is probably muzzle deep in her games, forgetting this and then falling asleep, dammit!!"
Celestia turned to her, picking her cup up and taking a sip, "you know, even if Twilight gets here and your daughter hasn't, Twilight won't forsake Serra," Celestia stated, putting the cup down, "best thing to do is just take a seat and wait fo-" Suddenly the door's broke open as a white coated unicorn flopped through them breathing raggedly, A black and red mane popped up and the hem line of the table as a hoof swung and clattered onto it.
Then the other hoof did the same as the mare dragged her muzzle onto the table, between breathes she squeaked out, "Am I late?"
Mrs' Quills glass' slid down her muzzle as one bit of her mane sprung out of the tight bun it was held in, "Late, no your not late, YOUR GODDAMN FRIGGIN EXTRE-"
"Quill! please calm down, at least Serra got here before Twilight did," that was when another Alicorn strode into the room, "by a hairs breathe no less"
Twilight looked around at the surrounding and found her eyes lay upon a unicorn lying on the floor panting, a small grin and a blush was on the mares face, "Well? Whats happnin' everypony"
Celestia rose from her seat and moved over to hug Twilight, "Nothing at all Twilight, this is Serra," she pointed a hoof at the mare who no was stumbling to her hooves brushing off, "she will be your new Senechal, she is the daughter of Mrs Quill here," Mrs Quill stood next to Serra with a smile, but Twilight noticed her eyebrow twitch very now and again.
Twilight moved forward and grabbed Serra's hoof, shaking it, "It is very nice to meet you, just a quick tip, you don't have to rush if your running slightly late for me, I saw you bolt straight past me five minutes ago in a rush"
Serra blushed as she was putting her hoof back down, "I am sorry Twilight"
Mrs Quill wacked her on the head, "Princess Twilight young lady, say it correctly"
Twilight spoke up before Serra could though, "Nope, she got it right the first time," Serra smiled and Mrs Quill looked like an arrow had just smashed through her, "I don't want to be rude but I really need to research something before tonight garden party and I only have around an hour to do so, to make things easier will you come with me, Serra?"
Serra nodded as she picked her board back up from the floor in her red magic, "You got it, so I am guessing its to the library?"
"Yes, I am sorry to drag you into a menial task just before meeting but it is a matter of state, I need to learn about the ambassadors as soon as possible so that I won't get shoved into a corner tonight. With that in mind," Twilight turned and began to bow at Princess Celestia.
Celestia stopped her mid bow, "you are a Princess and my niece my dear, no more bowing in front of me, I will see you at the party tonight. Oh and Serra, make sure she doesn't stay there too long, she will forget about the party if she begins studying," With a nod from Serra, Twilight turned around and headed for the Canterlot archives.
Midnights bunker
Midnight lived in one of the many magical crafted bunkers that Princess Twilight had created, he lived in here with three other stallions as it was four to a bunker. When he arrived back he found a box with a tag saying Garden party attire, as he was told he groomed himself and got ready for the party, though it wasn't easy because of where he lived.
The suit he had was an overcoat that was black, golden buckles held it all together and a white clothe dangled from his right coat pocket, Midnight was also permitted to wear his sword at all times and placed its sheath around his stomach in case anything happened.
It was nearing the time to meet the Princess so he hurriedly collected the last few bits for the outfit and moved to leave the bunker, before he could leave though he heard a whistle coming from his right, as he turned he saw two of his three bunk mates. "Fancy threads there Cap', going on a date are we?"
"Afraid not, work"
Both stallions laughed which made Midnight confused, "What?"
"Oh nothin' Cap', just a joke, guessing the Princess has reigned you in to do her bidding, no worries we will leave it to yah'"
Midnight just shrugged it off as one of his bunk mates ever growing weirdness encounters yet again, He then made his way back to the castle, back to Twilights room.
In the Library
Twilight and Serra ad made there way to the Archives in a short amount of time, Twilight had gotten there and immediately started making a tower of books on all the conglomerates and Ambassadors of other nations that she was most likely to see tonight, lucky for her Serra was trained in such detail and threw the ones that would be unrelated to the subject of the garden party back on the shelves. After Twilight had munched through two thirds of the books she began to grow tired of reading, it actually confused her as she never got tired of reading, deciding it was just a one off she turned to Serra who had earplugs in and a handheld devise in her hoofs.
"Whats that, some new doohicky that somepony created," Intrigued by what the contraption was, Twilight made her way to behind Serra, who never actually had heard or seen Twilight move, "Hey, hey, can you here me?" Twilight placed a hoof on Serra's shoulder, Serra then let out a wailing scream and jumped dropping the devise to the floor with a clatter.
Serra regained her posture as her breathing and heart rate went back to normal, "Don't do that, especially when I am playing "Day P' TM", Sorry what is it that you wanted Princess?"
Twilight blushed slightly at startling Serra, "Well, I was just wondering what the devise was, or should I say were, sorry about that," the devise was laid on the floor with a broken screen, "just give me a minute and I will repair it"
"No need, I got loads back home, its a handheld gaming devise, Mom doesn't really like me playing on them but its half my personality so Meh!" Serra said, earning a giggle from the Princess.
Twilight sat at a bench that was next to her friend and sighed, "You have a brilliant sense of humor but I am afraid we have ran out of time, I will not make you attend tonight's party but from now on after this party I would like for you to join me," Twilight said as she placed her head on the desk, blowing her fringe from her face, "But I guess I can't shy away from this one either, the only parties so far have been formals and I know how to do a formal but having to talk naturally to somepony so important is rather intimidating"
"That's called, calling the kettle black, you're a Princess, if it could get any harder to talk to you, you would be a Queen. I have seen you before you know, I know you can do it Twilight, I some times went to the garden parties with Mother and saw you talking with the grown up like it was a natural occurrence so I am sure you can do it," Serra encouraged.
Twilight got up from the seat and stared down at Serra with a smile, "I really hope so, Any ways my time is up and I must be going, I might even be a little late"
Serra giggled, "I am sure a party can wait for their Princess, Don't you?" she questioned.
"I guess that is true, well it was nice to meet you Serra, I will see you early tomorrow at ten," Elliciting a groan from the mare she shouted 'Don't remind me' as Twilight walked out of the Library.
Twilights bedroom
Midnight slowly walked down the hallway to Twilights room, it was around fifteen minutes until the meeting time so he had ample time to lightly stroll to the room. On the way he passed a few maids who stole glances at him every now and then, Stallions bowed to him in respect of his rank and he nodded back. The room was coming up and he saw the door swing open as a maid scurried out and ran past him with a look of worry, that was when he ran up to the now closed door. He placed an ear on the door and heard clattering and banging of small items, he raised a hoof and lightly rapped his hoof on the door, "Princess? are you okay in there, whats happening, are you hurt?"
Suddenly the banging stopped and the door swang inwards making him clatter to the floor, Purple magic rose him back on to his hooves as he saw Twilight, his mouth went agape.
"Slight problem, aparently I didn't stop growing, a little influx of my magic made me grow a little taller and now my dress doesn't fit me, I am getting some alterations done now, would you wait a minute"
Midnight might as well have been saying it, in his head the word 'homuna' was being repeated as he couldn't think straight, after a minute or so he shook his head and walked back to the doors to stand watch, every so often he would hear a scream or a giggle, something would smash, and finally thirty minutes later the door's opened letting Twilight through with her dress.
A long Lavender gown, black and red rose's adorned her hips and had a magical boon that made them shine. A rose choker was also attached to her neck and her mane was curled up with pearl pin's, Midnight once again stood with a mouth agape, this time for a different reason.
Garden Party
The garden party had started at six, many would come early so that they were not late for the Princess' arrival, Celestia was already there with a glass of wine already in her magic, also eyeing the cake that was on the table. Luna had also come early and started talking to the griffin's about their relations with the nations, after which she proceeded to telling her sister to slow down with the wine. Everything was going brilliantly, now there was just one last guest to arrive.
A horn was blown by the trumpeter as another Pony with a pink and purple stripy suit bellowed, "Hear Yee' Hear Yee', Her Majesty, Princess Twilina and her partner for tonight Master Midnight come to the party," Lights shone at the top of the stairs as they walked out, murmurs and gasp's from the crowd came as they slowly made their way down the steps.
Celestia made her way over to Luna who was stood smiling and watching Twilight coming down the stairs, "Y'know little sis, she looks like she has grown a bit again, she could be taller than you," this earned a playful shove from Luna.
Luna turned to Celestia, "Thank you sister, really I mean it, you trained her well and I have no words of gratitude that could really say how I feel, now let us go see her up close and see if she even dwarfs you big sister," they both walked over as the crowd parted, Luna walked up to Twilight and rapped a hoof around her in a hug, then whispered in her ear, "you look beautiful tonight Twilight, you have made me so proud.
Twilight released the embrace with reluctance, steadying her hooves she spoke with a regal tone, "It is so nice to be here Mother, Aunt Celestia hello again," Celestia nodded and smiled.
After this the time began to fly by, it was easier than Twilight thought it would be, Zebrican nation, the griffins, buffalo, Minotaur's and the Crystal empire delegates, were all in attendance. Spike was also at the party but he was more in to the Blue crystal muffins that was laid out for him, A pony early on in the night was curious how it tasted and nearly choked, luckily the guards came and made him cough the gem back up. What surprised Twilight the most was Zecora was there as a delegate from Zebrica.
Twilight made her way over to Zecora through the crowd who nodded and smiled as she did, when she arrived Zecora bowed deeply and then raised up, "It is so nice to see you again Princess but I must digress who is this hunk you carry around whom toddles after your dress," Zecora said in her ryming accent.
"Who, Midnight? He is one of my royal guards," Twilight replied.
Zecora eyed him up and down, "You my friend will have a dark future, when the choice is given, make the correct one," Zecora said ominously, Midnight backed up as his magic gripped his hilt of the sword slightly.
Twilight looked confused, "What was that about, some choice? really Zecora whats gunna happen to Equestria that will make anyponies lives harder?" Twilight asked.
Zecora simply smile and said, "All in due time but alas I must get back, it has been good to see you again Twilight, and to you too goodnight Midnight," she said as she walked away.
Twilight watched as she left, shrugging she started to wlk to the food table where a certain dragon was sprawled out on his back letting out green belches, "Spike! that is revolting, stop that"
"Sorry Mom, just got gas from too many muffins but they were delicious," Spike said.
"Fair enough, I want you inside in the next half hour," Spike went to complain but his mothers stare stopped him, "I don't want you to stay up too late, so I will see you tomorow at breakfast," She lent down and nuzzled Spike, Spike also lent in to the embrace as some of the mares around cooed in the distance at how cute it was.
The rest of the party was quite a blur as Twilight had decided a few Wine glass' needed to be emptied, she tried to get Midnight to have a glass but he was like a brill wall, no taste buds what so ever. Slowly the party died down as it was just Twilight the Two Princess' and some of their separate guards, the three Princess' were sat around a large round table which was their size. Celestia slammed her glass down as her head fell to the table with a thump, "Isht soo niice to finally have allsh the family back, you, yoou," trying to point at Twilight, "look'd brill..... brilli......... awesome tonight, I really love you guys,".
Luna sighed, Face hoof commencing in, three, two, one, touchdown, "Sister I told you to not drink so much, I warned you earlier today, Twilight also we forgot to tell you that Alicorns are more susceptible to alcohol, Damn it!"
Twilight was gripping a 'rouge Brunello Branco 85%' in her hooves on the table, she hiccuped every now and then, "I'm okaysh I am not," HICCUP, "dRunk, Am' FIIINE~"Twilight said as she slurred her words.
"For crying out loud, now I have both a sister who likes to get drunk and a daughter too, both are always in denial of the matter as well, you two, assist my sister back to her quarters, I will assist my daughter," Luna said, then she looked at Midnight as the guards attempted to pry the wine bottle away from Celestia, an audible scream was heard when one of said guards got flung backwards away from Celestia, "Midnight, help me get Twilight back to her room," He nodded in response hoofing one of Twilights big arms over his shoulder.
Luna now realized that her sister was correct, Twilight was bigger than her now and looked even more refined, "It should take too long and then you can call it a night Midnight"
"Yes your majesty"
It took a while for them to get back to Twilight room and they laid her down to rest her weary eyes, Midnight bowed and left as Luna stayed and brushed Twilights mane out of her eye's, she got up to leave but found a hoof held her back, "you're not leaving are you? please stay for awhile," Twilight said as she looked up from her bed, "Please"
Luna decided to lay down with her daughter, she climbed up to the bed where Twilight laid her head on her barrel as she hugged her, "Don't worry Twilight, I will never leave again, I will make sure of that," Twilight smiled as she fell asleep in her mothers embrace.
That is when it began
She was back in the void, the eyes that haunted her nightmares were staring at her, questioning the new Alicorn. When Twilight moved she noticed something, she was the size of a filly, no bigger than the cutie mark crusaders, that's when the eyes moved forward, Silver armor all over her coat, red eyes, sharpened canines. She looked like Twilights fully grown self except with all the other stuff.
The dark image came closer to Twilight as the air began to simmer, "Do not be afraid child, soon you will be in my embrace and will sleep forever, I wish not to harm you," it said with a hollow voice, "It is time, soon I will merge the sun and moon and begin my reign as Queen of the eternal Twilight, when day is night and night is day, that is when we shall come out to play," it said playfully.
Twilight shrunk down as Eclipse smiled a toothy wicked grin, "Why do you want this?"
"Power of course, Mother and Auntie control the last two orbital star's in the galaxy and they hold the most magic, sure we control many stars but now can be moved here, That is why we shall take control of the Sun and the moon and make our kingdom kneel to us"
"I will stop you!!" the little Alicorn filly growled as Eclipse backed up a bit and put a confused face on.
"Really? but isn't this all of your plan? I mean really think about it," The filly did for a second and then realized she was looking at the small stature of a little purple alicorn filly, she looked at her body and saw the chest armor and that she was tall again.
She was now seeing through Eclipses eyes, that. that is when she awoke.
