Screams fill the halls, worried guards pace outside the door.
Another scream and the king flinches.
Then..silence. And then the door opens and a grey unicorn with the stubble of a beard pokes his head through. "It's time." The king enters the chamber and sees his queen on their bed in a tangle of sheets and sweat, her purple and orange mane in a tangled mess.
"It's another girl," she says hoarsely. The king walks even faster to her side, a bundle of cloth is in her arms. He looks down at his daughter and a silent tear rolls down his cheek. "She's beautiful. Tia will be happy to have a sister." Her light blue tuft of hair curls around her horn, her periwinkle body wet from birth and then.... she opens her eyes. Teal, to be exact, she look curiously at her mother and begins to cry. The queen smiles weakly. The king looks at his wife and notices she is pale, even for a white Alicorn.
"Leah, are you alright?" asks Cosmos. Galaxia's eyelids and chest begin to flutter.
"P-promise me you'll take care of them."
"Leah-"
"PROMISE ME!"
"I-I promise."
"Good. I love you, Cosmos," a tear slides down her flushed cheeks.
"I love you, too," tears begin to form in his eyes as he kisses his wife." What should we name her?"
"Hmm.. I was thinking about Luna."

*A few days later*
That night was the last night the queen saw her children. King Cosmos held her funeral 3 days later, with a crying Luna and a silent Celestia. Starswirl, the stallion who helped birth both princesses, was speaking at the funeral. All of Equestria was in the courtyard that day, those that could make it in less than 3 days in time for the ceremony, that is. Some even had to stand outside the gates or hover above everypony.
Even those from the Frozen North made an effort to see their queen into the beyond. The Crystal Empress and her family were not the most friendly of ponies, but they knew the queen well.
Many tears were shed that day. King Cosmos, though, was trapped in thought. I did it, I killed her. I knew I shouldn't have asked for another child. Celestia was difficult as it was. At this he looks down at the young filly, her eyes closed and head hanging low, he steps closer so she can lean on his leg. The nursemaid was doing her best to calm Luna, but to no avail. As if sensing her father looking at her, she turns her head in his direction and almost immediately stops crying. The nursemaid, Cornflower, begins to hoof her over to him when Starswirl steps onto the podium.
" I have never been one for public speaking, but, thankfully, the queen had a will made before her...demise. She told me in person that if she were to die before her time, that I were to read it in front of the entire kingdom, not just her husband and future children," he clears his throat and casts a levitation spell to open the letter.
"If you are reading this, it means I am no longer with you. Well. If you think about it, that's what a will is for, isn't it? A last speech for those whom are no longer able to say it for themselves, in person. As I am moving on from the life I once led, I want all of you to know, I will be watching you from the stars. To the townsfolk of Canterlot, I leave 25 bits to each family.
