Chapters Vinyl, a white mare with an ecstatic blue mane was rolling around in her sheets, dreaming of the night before.
"Mmm" Vinyl moaned as a sweet aroma hit her muzzle, she couldn't help but toss and turn as she was trying to guess what she could smell.
Pancakes! No waffles! No wait! An omelette!
Vinyl couldn't stand it any longer, she leaped out of her nice warm bed and galloped to investigate where the alluring smell was coming from.
As she ran straight into the kitchen she saw a grey mare with a black mane and a purple treble clef as her cutie mark delicately putting a scrumptious looking omelette on to a plate.
Her name is Octavia.
Vinyl observed Octavia as she continued to gracefully place a piece of water cress dead centre of the omelette.
Has my Fillyfriend always been this good of a cook?! Yes, Vinyl and Octavia decided over a long talk whether they should be more than just 'friends' (There was a lot of kissing involved which kinda persuaded them both).
As Octavia turned around to place the plate on the table, she noticed Vinyl leaning in the doorway of the kitchen.
"Oh, good morning sleep head, have a nice dream" She gave her hypnotized friend a 'I know what your thinking about' look.
Vinyl nervously laughed and scratched the back of head making her mane into a spiky blue mess. "Umm, yeah... I just smelled what you making and I couldn't resist."
"Would you like some, I don't mind sharing."
Vinyl rushed over to Octavia and gave her a hug, (almost squeezing the life out of her at the same time.)
"Oh thank you, I'm starving!" Vinyl's horn began to glow a cyan blue and so did a draw behind Octavia, it quickly opened and a knife also turned blue and floated over to the table along with another knife and two forks and began to cut the omelette directly in half.
Vinyl pulled out a chair for Octavia and then she sat down.
Vinyl the grabbed the nearest chair and placed it next to Octavia's, after the table was set and the omelette was cut in half, Vinyl used her magic to pick up a clean plate and put it on the table while half the delicious breakfast flew over and landed on the plate.
Octavia picked up the knife and fork and cut a neat edge of the omelette clean off and ate it.
The DJ beside her decided to ignore the knife and fork and went with her stomach, just dive in.
Octavia looked over at Vinyl shovelling down her side of the omelette and thought about telling her to have some manners but she remembered how hungry Vinyl said she was and let her enjoy her meal.
After 5 minutes of smashing her head against the plate, Vinyl finally finished her omelette and gave Octavia a little peck on the cheek.
"Umm, what was that for?!" She asked Vinyl with a confused look on her face.
"Err, duh, For breakfast!"
"Oh that's okay, like I said, I don't mind sharing."
"Yeah well, I just wanted to say thanks that's all." She said as she leaned back in chair.
Vinyl leaned forward and got up from her chair. She looked at Octavia and stretched.
"Well, I better have a shower, I bet I stink?" Vinyl said as she leaned closer to her Fillyfriend.
Octavia gentle pushed Vinyl away. "Yes you do dear, now please go have a shower."
"Fine, just don't walk in on me like last time, k?" Vinyl gave her a cheeky grin.
Octavia's cheek's quickly flooded a rosy red as Vinyl said it and she scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. "He he, yeah, that won't happen again, I promise" Octavia let out a nervous laugh.
"I'm watching you." Vinyl said as she turned around in the most alluring way possible.
Octavia managed to resisted the growing urge to follow her Fillyfriend into the shower and continued eating her outstanding breakfast.
10 minutes of delicately eating away at her omelette, Octavia finished her breakfast and knew Vinyl was still in the shower because she could still hear the sound of rushing water, (And she could hear Vinyl's singing), so she decide to wait and not interrupt her friend.
Octavia picked up her cello to pass the time and played a few chords with excellent precision.
As soon as she played those chords she heard the sound of water cease to continue, as she stop playing and turned to see the bathroom door, Vinyl stepped out with a warm, blue towel around her body and mane.
Octavia smiled "I thought you didn't like putting your mane in a turban?"
"I guess your rubbing off on me." Vinyl said with a cheeky laugh.
"That's probably not the only thing that's rubbing of you or me."
They burst into laughter, as Vinyl started to put her mane back to how it was, they heard somepony knocking on the front door.
Vinyl stared at Octavia for a brief moment, looking confused as she asked herself Who could that be?
Vinyl trotted over to the door, still confused on who it could be.
She open the door slowly and it gave out a little creak.
"Long time, no see."

"Long time, no see." Said the mysterious mare, the mare raised a light blue hoof as if to suggest a hoof shake.
"Oh... My... Celestia..." Said Vinyl with the biggest grin on her face.
"Rainbow Dash?!" Screamed the astonished pony.
"The one and only!" Rainbow Dash shouted at the top of her lungs.
Octavia was still confused as to who 'Rainbow Dash' was.
Octavia did feel a little jealous when she saw Vinyl hug Rainbow Dash, and she still didn't know who she was yet!
After they finally released from their 'hug', Vinyl introduced Octavia to Rainbow Dash.
"Octavia, Rainbow Dash."
"Rainbow Dash, Octavia." Vinyl beamed with happiness as she introduced the two ponies.
"Pleasure to meet you Rainbow Dash." Octavia extended her hoof as she spoke.
"Same, Octavia isn't it?" Rainbows hoof met Octavia's and they shook hoofs.
"So how do you know Vinyl?" Octavia asked Rainbow Dash defensively.
"Oh, oh I know this one!" Vinyl interrupted looking like she could explode if she didn't say it. "Rainbow and I met up after a gig back in spring and we've been friends ever since."
"How come you never mention her?" Octavia said back with a hint of anger.
"It was before we met up in Uni." Vinyl replied back trying not to sound angry.
Vinyl picked up her saddle bag in a hurry. "Well this awkward, I've got to go see Neon Lights about our new song, see ya later babe." Vinyl gave Octavia a kiss on her way out, leaving Octavia and Rainbow Dash... Alone.
As Vinyl walked into the music studio with her custom saddle bag on her back, thoughts of Octavia and Rainbow Dash alone at the house still floated around her head but she shook them off as she saw Neon Lights, a cyan blue stallion with a spiky, black mane was standing in front of a mixing board.
Neon turned and smiled at Vinyl, waving his hoof insisting she go over there.
As Vinyl trotted over to Neon she noticed a mint coloured unicorn playing a Lyre in the recording booth. She placed her saddle bag next to the mixing board.
"Why do you need Lyra and her Lyre?" Vinyl asked the focused Neon Lights.
Neon Lights removed his headphones and faced the DJ. "Because, we need some classical notes and sounds for our next song."
"Do you know anypony who plays a classical instrument?" Vinyl couldn't see past Neons shades but she knew he was desperate, otherwise he wouldn't be asking.
"Actually, yes I do." Vinyl replied with a confident grin.
"Oh yeah, your Fillyfriend Actavic, right?"
"Octavia and yes, she plays the Cello." Neon Lights was the only pony Vinyl felt she could trust because of their musical partnership, she felt like they had a special bond, not as special as her and Octavia's, but still special.
"That's perfect!" Neon shouted. "A Cello is exactly what we need for the song. Do you think she'll be happy about recording a few notes and chords for us?"
"I'll ask her, but I can't make any promises."
As they finished their conversation, Lyra stepped out of the recording booth and rested her Lyre against the mixing board.
"Hi Vinyl, is that all you needed Neon?"
"Yeah that will be all for now, I'll ring you if I need you." Neon said turning to Vinyl.
"You ready to get in there Vinyl?"
Lyra picked up her Lyre and waved goodbye. "See ya later then, I've got to go and pick up some ingredients for Bon Bon."
"Yeah, lets go." Vinyl calmly walked inside the booth, taking her saddle bag with her.
Neon Lights raised a hoof, which meant he was asking if she was ready.
She nodded in return and put the head phones on.
"Ok, this is what I've come up with so far, ready?"
"Yup." As the music started playing, Vinyl felt a little rumble coming from her saddle bag. She indicated to Neon that she want him to stop the music.
"Whats wrong?" Neon asked sounding a little worried.
"Nothing, I've just got to get this text." Vinyl's saddle bag glowed blue and quickly opened, her phone then flew out and hovered in front of her.
It was Octavia.
"So... Vinyl said that you two met up in Uni." Rainbow Dash asked trying to brake the awkward ice.
"Yes, yes we did." Octavia replied holding her ground, she wasn't just going to let somepony she didn't know just waltz in and do whatever she wanted, she had to see what they were like first.
"Can I ask how?" Rainbow Dash said with curiosity
Octavia took a deep breath. "We were in the same psychology class and shared a dorm together, after University, we moved into a house, together." Octavia explained to Rainbow Dash. (Leaving out the juicy bits).
"So whats that doo-hicky over there?" Rainbow pointed to Octavia's Cello.
"What my Cello?" Octavia was surprised that Rainbow Dash didn't know what a Cello was.
"Yeah yeah, that." Rainbows eyes widen at the name Cello, then quickly squinted in confusion. "Whats a Cello?"
Octavia was astonished, I thought everypony knew what a Cello was, goes to show people aren't interested in classical any more.
"A Cello is one of the main four instruments in the string family." Octavia felt like she was talking to a little filly. "Do you play an instrument?"
Rainbow was suddenly back in the conversation "Just a bit of Electric Guitar, not much."
"Oh, nothing... subtle then?" Octavia whispered to herself.
Rainbow heard what she said, even if she was whispering. "Whats that supposed to mean?" Rainbow Dash barked defensively.
"Nothing nothing, so... why are you here Rainbow Dash?"
"That's the magic question!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "Umm... I was wondering... if I could umm."
"Umm... what?" Octavia signalled for Rainbow to continue, no matter how bad it was.
"I was wondering if I could stay here for a few days?" Rainbow Dash said rapidly.
"I-I don't know, I'll have to talk it over with Vinyl." Octavia was thinking it over in her mind.
As Octavia began scrolling through her phone looking for Vinyl to pop up. "I understand, got to consult your Fillyfriend."
Octavia slammed her phone shut, How does she know about me and Vinyl?

The grey mare, (still in shock) slowly turned around to face Rainbow Dash.
"Ex-excuse me?! What di-did you just say?" Octavia was still trying to process what just came out of the light blue mares mouth.
How does she know? She can't know? Its not possible, she doesn't know? Did Vinyl tell her? Can I trust Vinyl? Of course I can trust Vinyl, what am I saying? The more she dwelled on it, the more she doubted Vinyl... and herself. Your stupid Octavia, thinking that Vinyl would do such a thing!
"Oh come on!" Rainbow Dash groaned. "It's Obvious you two are in L-O-V-E!"
Octavia stared straight down at her hoofs as her cheeks glowed bright red. "That obvious?"
Rainbow Dash nodded so hard it made her rainbow mane bounce in agreement.
Rainbow could see that Octavia was upset, (That and there was tear running slowly down her cheek.)
"I'm mean you are in love, aren't you?" Rainbow Dash knew she was on thin ice and she really didn't want to make Octavia any more upset than she already was. (Its not a good first impression to make friends cry.)
Octavia nodded wiping the tear from her face.
"So why are you crying, was it something I said or something I did?" Rainbow Dash was genuinely concerned for the grey mare.
"No, you did nothing wrong, really." Octavia started to raise her head. "It was me, it was something I did."
"What, what did you, did you stub your hoof?" Rainbow Dash replied with a bit of friendly joshing.
Octavia let out a little giggle. "No no, nothing like that."
"Wh-when you said you knew that me and Vinyl were 'together', I started to doubt my trust with her... an-and."
"I understand." Rainbow Dash interrupted. "Don't worry your head about it, Vinyl didn't tell me anything."
Reassuring other ponies was not Rainbow's speciality but she gave it her best and it seemed to work, she suddenly had a nice, warm feeling in her heart... she liked it.
Octavia started to smile, she relaxed now that she knew Vinyl wasn't involved.
Rainbow Dash laughed. "I think that you and I are gonna be the best of friends, now why don't we try a Electric Guitar and Cello mash up?"
Vinyl was worried. What could have happened, is Octavia mad at me? Did Rainbow Dash do something stupid?
As she read the text, a wave of relief flowed over her.
Hi Vinyl, every things fine here, just wanted to ask if on your way home could you pick me up some rosin for my cello?
Vinyl smiled as she started texting back. How stupid was I, thinking that Rainbow Dash would do anything wrong.
Sure, so you and Rainbow are getting on fine then. As Vinyl replied to the text she looked up and saw Neon Lights with that 'Is everything ok' look, but as soon as she looked at him she felt the phone vibrate.
Yes, me and Rainbow are getting on fine, were about to try an Electric Guitar and Cello mash up, that's why I need the rosin. Also you could have done a better job at introducing us. Vinyl just remembered that she never introduced them properly, but it looked like Octavia did her job for her.
Yeah sorry 'bout that, just skipped my mind.
"We could always do this later." Neon Lights said when he walked into the booth. "You look kinda busy."
Vinyl turned her attention to Neon. "Yeah, Rainbow Dash turned up this morning and I had to rush out the door leaving them alone to introduce themselves."
"Hmm, sounds like you've got a lot on you plate." Neon said looking concerned for Vinyl. "Go home, sort it out, we can finish this later."
"You sure?" Vinyl put her phone in her saddle bag and put the bag on her back.
"I insist, but remember to ask Octavia if she can record with us."
"I will, thanks Neon!" Vinyl gave Neon a friendly hug, she then let go, smiled and ran out the door, heading for the nearest music shop.
As Vinyl ran into the music shop she felt the phone vibrate again. It was Octavia.
Its okay I forget things sometimes, Oh and Vinyl...
Vinyl wondered what she meant at the end of the text.
Yes? She replied nervously.
Rainbow Dash wants to know if she can stay for a few days?
As Vinyl ran towards the house, she was still thinking about Rainbow. Why would she need a place to stay? Hasn't she got her on place? But those thoughts were but to the back of her head as she got closer to the house and a strange sound appeared.
What is that sound Vinyl thought to herself as she approached the front door.
Vinyl proceeded to open the door and as she did the sounds volume increased.
When she walked inside she saw Rainbow Dash and Octavia making a Electric Guitar and Cello duet in the living room, it was odd but it seemed to work.
"You two have been busy." Vinyl said, interrupting the two musicians.
"Hay Yeah!" Rainbow Dash screamed as she strummed a very loud note.
"You like it, its an odd mix, but it works." Octavia replied. "Did you get the rosin?"
"Yup." Vinyl said quickly. "Umm, can I talk to you for a minute?"
The Cellist turned around and faced her Fillyfriend. "Sure, what is it?"
"I mean in private ." She whispered.
"Back in a minute." Octavia said to Rainbow Dash.
"Perfect, I'll tune my Guitar while your gone."
Once they were in the kitchen, Vinyl firmly closed the door, then gave Octavia a hug.
"You don't know how happy I am." Vinyl said with a big grin on her face. "When you sent me that text, I thought something bad had happened... but you and Rainbow are getting on fine!"
"Well, something did happen." Octavia whispered nervously.
"What happened? I thought you two were becoming great friends?"
Octavia took a deep breath and spoke. "She knows."
"About what?" Vinyl was very worried. Her heart was racing faster than ever before, she felt like she would faint at any moment.
"About us!" Octavia shouted trying not to alert the pony in the other room.
"That's what I was afraid you would say." Vinyl whispered to herself. "Did you tell her?"
"No!" Octavia barked.
"Then how did she find out?"
"She said 'it was obvious that we were in love'." Octavia said as her cheeks glowed red.
"Well... I do love you." Vinyl went as red as the Cellist.
"I love you too." Octavia said giving her red DJ a kiss on the cheek.
"How is she about it?" Vinyl asked.
"Rainbow said she understood."
"Well... at least she won't mock us." Vinyl shrugged. "We were going to have to tell her at some point, we can't hide it forever."
"Yeah well, I think we needed more time." Octavia said stubbernly
"You never know this be a good thing." Vinyl rubbed up against Octavia and tried to make her see the bright side.
"Hmm... I better go and check on Rainbow."
As Octavia then headed for the door to check on Rainbow Dash she suddenly remembered about this morning.
"Oh yeah, Vinyl."Octavia said as she turn to Vinyl.
"Yeah?" Vinyl replied nervously.
"You owe me for leaving me this morning with Rainbow Dash to do introductions." Octavia said with proud look on her face.
"All right then, tonight I'll make it up to you, sound good?"
"You better." Octavia felt very 'cheeky' all of a sudden.
"And what do we do about Rainbow?" Octavia asked Vinyl.
"Well... what do you want to do with her?" Vinyl threw the question back at Octavia.
"I guess we should let her stay, I mean I see no reason not to, but I think we should still ask why."
"Yeah I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation."
They both walked back into the living room to talk to Rainbow Dash who was still tuning her guitar.
"Hey, Rainbow!" Vinyl shouted, making her jump.
"Yeah!" Rainbow said still recovering from the shock.
"We both think that there is no reason not to let you stay here." Octavia said a little bit quieter than her Fillyfriend.
"Great!" Rainbow screamed, gentle placed her guitar and flew over to them to give them a massive hug.
"But." Octavia said struggling to breathe. "Can you tell us why?"
Rainbow Dash released. "Just Coltfriend troubles, the usual." She looked away as if she embarrassed.
"Say no more, you can still stay."
"Thanks again, I just need to... get over him." Rainbow tried to stay strong and not let a tear out, but one did manage to escape. Rainbow wiped it off quickly trying to act like it was an itch.
"We can't offer much, only a sofa." Vinyl shrugged pointing to the dark red sofa.
"Its fine, I'll make do." Rainbow said reassuring Vinyl.
"You sure?" Octavia asked.
"Hey, I've slept on more sofa's than you've performance's." Rainbow Dash didn't mean to sound to bitchy, they were offering a temporary home after all.
There was an awkward silence after she spoke but was interrupted by a hungry DJ.
"So, now that's settled, who wants dinner? Cause I'm making."
"Y-yes I would like something to eat, what would you like Rainbow?"
Rainbow Dash stared into deep space, she didn't really know what she wanted.
"Umm, hay fries I guess, nothing to fancy." Rainbow said shrugging her shoulders.
"Hay fries, sure, you okay with that Tavi?" She looked over to her cellist as if to say 'just go with it'.
"Hay fries it is." It wasn't like she was going to say no.
Vinyl went off into the kitchen to make dinner, in the meantime Rainbow Dash and Octavia got to know each other a bit better but they were cut short by dinner because hay fries doesn't take long to make. Once they finished their average meal, it was starting to get dark so they decided to get an early night, Octavia gave Rainbow Dash the warmest blanket they had and Rainbow crash on the sofa and just like she promised Vinyl made it up to Octavia.
