Ying and Yang

A New Home

As the train to Ponyville slowly skidded to a halt many ponies got off the train. Many ponies walked to hugging families waiting for them. Then there was a unicorn who had a black hood and white saddle bags. His name was Ying. He had a bone straight white mane done in a ponytail and a black coat and he blue eyes his cutie mark was the Yang  symbol. He traveled with a boe staff due his Neighpo heritage in his saddle bags he had a pair of kunais along with bits and a mask. Underneath his cloak he had a katana which he named "Harmonizer".  He trotted his way off of the train platform. He was in Ponyville to escape his tragic past being shunned everywhere he went due to his ability and problems. He was walking and did not realize where he was going and bumped into a butter cream colored mare with pink hair.

"I'm sorry miss I did not see where I was going," He apologized.

" Oh no it's fine this happens all the time." she said while looking at the ground hiding behind her mane.

He then got to his hooves, looked at her and said, "I'm Yin I am new in town so can you point me in the direction of town hall."

  The yellow pegasus pointed behind her and said" It's the really big building in the middle of the town square can't miss it oh and um ... I'm..." She mumble the last word but Ying heard it fine and said

"Well thank you Fluttershy for pointing me in the correct direction." He then walked off towards town hall. On his way he took the chance to take in the environment around him the houses were not to big and the air was clear. 'Reminds me of Neighpo,' He thought.

He then reached town hall when he entered the receptionist looked up from her desk and droned " Hello do you have an appointment with the mayor today?"

Ying answered," Yes I am her three o' clock appointment with her."

"Okay then Mr. Yin then the mayor will see you now," the receptionist said. Ying nodded said thank you and walked into the mayors office.

When he entered the office the mayor was sitting at her desk doing paper work.

She noticed that Ying had entered she smiled and said " Welcome you must be Ying. Take a seat let's talk about your house location shortly." Ying took a seat in front of the desk as Mayor Mare was taking out paper work. She took out a total of three folders and put them on the desk. "These are the following houses that are available Mr. Ying."

     The first house smack dab right in the middle of town and next to a restaurant that got a lot of customers. He declined for that one. The second one was a large house with a large yard on the outskirts of town. 'A good possibility' he thought. The last house similar to the first one except it was to a nightclub. 'Definitely not' He thought for that one.

" I want the second house Ms. Mare the large one," Ying told Mayor Mare.

"Alright now that one is a total of 40,000 bits all together if you want you can put a down payment and pay mortgage," Mayor Mare informed Ying.  Ying chuckled, "No need I can pay in full right now." He pulled a large bag of bits and set it on the table. Mayor Mare's jaw dropped when she saw the bag. "I suppose this would do?" Ying asked. Mayor Mare nodded and gave Ying the deed to the house. He counted his bits and realized he still had around 260,000 bits left. Not including the amount he had in the bank. Ying was walking around the town looking for a library to know the town better. He realized a giant tree with a sign in front of it saying "Golden Oaks Library." Ying smiled and knocked on the door.

"Spike can you get that," He heard from inside. The door opened to reveal not a pony but a dragon." Hi I'm spike how can help you?" the drake asked Ying. "Hello I am Ying I recently moved into town and wondered if the library had any maps of town," Ying replied. He then asked " May I come in?" Spike then moved to the side allowing Ying to enter the library. Ying looked around to see all the books he had seen more in father's library. He also saw that it was two stories the stairs leading  to the bedroom of whoever was the librarian. He went into the section about Equestria and looked for any books about the more foreign parts of Equestria.

While he was looking he heard a voice from the top of the stairs. "Spike who was at the door," the pony at the top of the stairs asked. "A new pony who just moved in to ponyville," Spike replied. The Unicorn then rushed down and scolded the dragon "Why didn't you tell me there was a new pony here? Did he leave? Oh maybe we can still catch him." She was interrupted by Spike clearing his throat and pointing  behind Twilight. She turned to see Ying looking at her with a smile on his face. Twilight blushed quickly and then did her classic hello" Greetings my name is Twilight Sparkle. You are?" With a smile Ying chuckled" My name is Ying it is good to meet miss Sparkle. I suppose you are the librarian yes?" "Please Ying just Twilight and yes I am the librarian." Twilight said. Ying asked "Then do you possibly have a map of Ponyville I can use for like Spike said I am new here and I don't know my surroundings." "I will give you one thing better" Twilight smiled, "I'll show you around Ponyville my self." Twilight opened the door then stooped dead in her tracks looked behind her and asked" You haven't seen Pinkie Pie yet have you?" Ying shook his head." Just be prepared," Twilight warned.

As the tour of ponyville was coming to an end Ying realized that he had not eaten all day and his stomach was telling him so. Both Twilight and Ying started to laugh" I suppose I haven't eaten lunch today." Ying stated. "Don't worry I know just the place and here it is also one of the major marks of ponyville Sugar Cube Corner. Just be prepared." Twilight said with a concerned look on her face. Ying opened door with everypony yelling "SURPRISE!" as he walked in with a calm look on his face he didn't even jump. Then a pink blur came up to his face saying " HiI'mpinkepieandithrewthispartyjustforyouwereyousurprised?What'syourname?areyounewhere?doyoulikeparties" Ying took a second to process what she said and replied" To answer your questions in order I was not surprised, my name is Ying, I am new here, and I guess parties are okay." Pinkie looked at him for a while and then said," Okay," then hopped away. He turned to see five mares looking at him with awe. "What did I do?" He said quizzically. "It's just that nopony has handled Pinkie like that,"said a orange earth pony with a southern drawl" My name's Applejack that there is Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash. I'm guessin' you alredy met Twilight."  Ying had fun at the party then a pony called Berry Punch brought out the alcoholic beverages that is when Ying left the party there were only three days that Ying drank alcohol new years his birthday and the anniversary of his mother's death. He trotted to his house to see that the inside already had furniture.  Even the bedrooms the master bedroom had a king sized bed and on top of the bed was a letter saying

He smiled at the note she always had her eyes on him. He jumped on the bed and layed down on his back. He slowly fell asleep and before he fell asleep he heard his alter ego Yang in the back of his mind

[Once your friends know about me they'll be like all of the others.]

'Look who's finally awake. Also something tells me that these friends will be different.'

[No they'll all run and hide once they see me.]

'Are you saying you're ugly?'
