I can’t remember. I just can’t. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t. I remember everything from before. Before she came and took over. And, of course, after she left, which wasn't too long ago. But in between. How in all of Equestria could I forget one thousand years!? I can tell that I’m forgetting something. Something… Important. But I couldn't forget something very important, could I? No. If I did, it wouldn't be something important, now would it? Of course not! No… Definitely not. I’m just imagining this feeling. Nothing important…
Luna walked slowly onto the balcony overlooking Ponyville. The night sky was as dark and beautiful as Luna’s mane, with sparkles weaving in and out of the darkness. Luna looked at her moon and sighed. She concentrated her magic and slowly lowered the beautiful orb of white light to the west horizon. As the light faded, Celestia walked out from the large doorways and nodded at Luna. She raised the sun much easier than Luna could lower the moon, but she was out of practice. Soon she would be able to lower and raise the moon as simply as breaking a toothpick.
“Sleep well my sister. Soon will be a time for celebration.” Said Celestia as softly as a summer breeze.
“Yes, and thank you. I will.” A lie. Luna has been having night terrors for months now. Every afternoon, she wakes up screaming, but upon waking, her memory becomes clouded, and she is only able to remember small, pointless details. The moon light red as freshly shed blood, red and black blurs whipping through the crisp, cool night air. But these dreams are quickly dismissed as ridiculousness and shrugged off by Luna.
Luna was laying on her bed unable to fall asleep. The sun was coming through her windows and shining in her eyes, so she used the small amount of magic left in her to close the blinds. Eventually, after laying still for what seemed to her as hours, Luna fell asleep.
“My queen,” beckoned a booming voice.
“Who goes there?” Luna asked into the darkness.
“I have traveled far to reach your dreams.”
“My… Dreams? I am not asleep…”
“Yes, indeed you are. I have entered your dreams to deliver a message.”
“You entered my dreams? How? I am the only pony capable of such an action! You cannot dream scape.”
“Oh? You think you are powerful?”
“Why of course! I am the second most powerful pony in all of Equestria! You dare question my power?”
“Well, I’m not from Equestria. I am much more powerful then you will ever be!”
“Show yourself and challenge me, coward!”
“I am no coward!” And with that, a silhouette of a young looking mare appeared out of the darkness. She was cloaked in a long hooded robe that dragged along the ground as she walked towards Luna. Luna could see the mare was covered in a red coat because her nose was sticking out of the opening in the hood. There was a white glow spilling out of the hood just above the mysterious mare’s snout. Luna could not see her eyes or her mane, but her hooves were sticking out of the bottom of her cloak when she trotted towards the princess. There were tuffs of red fur in choppy bits above her deep black hooves which seemed to melt into the darkness along with the cloak.
“Who… Who are you?” Luna demanded as the mare stopped in front of her.
“You don’t know me, but someone very close to you does. She will receive this message as I tell you it.” Then the hood fell down to the mare’s back, revealing her face. She did indeed have red fur covering her whole face. She was beautiful. Young and ageless, she seemed to have just grown out of filliehood, but she was taller than Luna. Her mane was as black as the night that Luna loved, and covered her forehead, but didn't cover the sharp horn atop her head. Her smile was wicked, but she seemed to have sympathy in her eyes. Her eyes… Unlike any eyes Luna had ever seen. Bright silver… That was it. No irises or pupils. Just cold metallic silver. They glowed white, which would explain the light that was radiating from under the darkness of her hood.
“Princess Luna of the night, moon, and Equestria,” the mare boomed. “I am here to tell you that it is time. Time for our queen to return to us. Once she does, the prophecy will be fulfilled and she will rule over us once again. We have grown strong enough for the plans to work out. It has been many years, but we are ready, and willing, to sacrifice anyone of us for the cause. You shall not be cursed to hide any longer. Now you must return to your kingdom. Make haste!” The mare started to fly away after she said “haste”, hoping to return home and escape this dream.
“Wait!” Luna shouted after her, extremely confused. “Who are you?”
“Oh! I am called Oracle on my home.” She replied coolly, turning her body around, showing off her ginormous bat wings.
“Wait! You’re an Alicorn? But… How?”
“Well… That would be because you made me one.” And with that last sentence, the bat winged, Alicorn with a bloody looking coat named Oracle, flew away into that darkness of Luna’s subconscious. That is when she woke up.
