Princess Luna enjoys video games. It's a simple statement, both in its phrasing and its truthfulness. So, on one day, a day much like any other, the two were inside their respective homes playing video games together. What were they playing, you ask? One of the greatest, if not the greatest F2P on the internet, Equestrian Fortress 2.
"THE ENEMY HAS TAKEN OUR INTELLIGENCE!" an annoyed voice screeched over the megaphones throughout the map.
Chaotic and Luna were playing a Capture the Flag game on a less-played map called Sawmill. They were on the RED team and, as the mare on the megaphone suggested, the BLU team had taken their intelligence.
"Luna? Where are you?" asked Chaotic over the game's chat. He was playing the Spy, rushing across the map while disguised as a Scout on the opposite team to try to stall, or kill, whoever stole their intelligence.
"I just came out of the spawn, I'm going to try to get over the rooftops to get a clear shot. Where are you?" Luna replied. She was playing the sniper class, her Custom Machina sitting comfortably on her back. After a few more jumps she was in position above the highest building on the map, the main Sawmill.
"I'm in position, where's our intel?" Luna murmured over the chat as she scanned the map through her sniper's scope. She noticed an enemy Pyro emerging from its spawn and put a bullet in its head without hesitation. "Come on, where are you?" Luna continued to scan the land before her.
Just then, she noticed a commotion coming from a hole in the side wall of the building in front of her. She peered down the scope to get a closer look, and a flash of blue darted across her line of sight. The enemy that had RED's intelligence was running around the interior of the building.
"Chaotic, can you sneak in there and try to draw him out? I can't get a clear shot from here," Luna spoke into her microphone.
"Sure thing, I'll go in the other side," he responded immediately.
Luna noticed a cloaked RED spy walk briskly around the building, searching for the other staircase that led into the base. Moments after he disappeared from her sight, she heard several surprised yells from down below, accompanied by the kill-feed in the upper right lighting up.
"THE ENEMY HAS DROPPED OUR INTELLIGENCE!"
"THE ENEMY HAS PICKED UP OUR INTELLIGENCE!"
After a brief lull, Luna noticed a BLU Engineer run out the hole in the wall she was watching, RED's intel on his back. Despite her surprise at the turn of events, she took the shot. The bullet planted itself in the head of the Engineer, killing him instantly.
"Nice shot!" Chaotic cheered in the background.
"Thanks," Luna said automatically, her focus elsewhere. One side of her brain was still scanning for enemies that might try to take the briefcase while it counted down its reset timer, the other was thinking about what Chaotic just did. "He pulled off three backstabs in a row, in the heart of BLU territory." She chuckled softly. Nopony else could do what that colt did on Equestrian Fortress 2.
After a couple tense seconds, the briefcase returned to RED's base, and Luna moved to another vantage point. "Alright, the score's still 2-2, us. Let's finish them off," she said to the entire team through the game's chat. Her announcement was followed by hollers and whoops of excitement.
Luna and Chaotic spent rest of that game supporting their team by eliminating enemies with large amounts of health. Heavies and their Medics would collapse due to a knife in the back or a bullet through the brain. Luna covered Chaotic's daring escapes more than once after he would dart in and assassinate a high-profile target.
At long last, a Scout on their team managed to nab BLU's intelligence and run it out of their base successfully. Luna dropped anypony trying to rush into the center of the map while Chaotic kept the rest rounded up in their spawn. Once the Scout had gotten far enough through the map, Luna jumped down from the roof and met up with Chaotic as he was running for more health.
"I knew you wouldn't fail me, now get back to base," the Announcer said.
All of RED's weapons suddenly became Übercharged. The BLU team each held up their hands in defeat, letting their weapons fall to the ground. The doors to the BLU spawn flew up, allowing Luna and Chaotic to storm in, sniper blazing and knife flashing. In a matter of seconds, the two killed the entire BLU team.
"Nice shootin' Luna!" Chaotic exclaimed.
"Hey, I wouldn't have gotten half those shots if it wasn't because you were terrorizing the other team!" Luna said back humbly.
The round was announced as over, and all-chat kicked in. A chorus of "good-game's" greeted Luna's ears. The BLU team was respectful in defeat, or that's was she thought until one angry pony began talking on the mic.
"That's complete shit! Nopony can snipe that well! I'm calling hacks on you, Night Lightning!" the pony, General Confusion, yelled over the chat.
The lobby went silent. On a game where hacking was virtually nonexistent, an accusation of that sort was taken extremely seriously. The pony had a point though. Luna had more than doubled her kill count during the time she was perched on that rooftop. She could understand why somepony would accuse her of hacking.
But, just before she could give a seething retort, Chaotic jumped in. "She's not hacking you idiot! Ponies are allowed to be a good shot in this game! I bet you couldn't hit half the shots she made, even with hacks!"

"Oh yeah? You wanna fight about it?" General Confusion answered menacingly.
"Sure I will, as long as you admit that she wasn't hacking once I kick your flank!" Chaotic growled back over the mic.
"Alright, but if I win, I want all your items," Confusion responded with finality.
"Done! I've got a Dueling Minigame with your name on it!"
"I still can't believe how badly you whooped his tail, Chaotic," Luna said again. The colt had won the fight nearly flawlessly. The two made an arrangement to meet up in Pony Joe's Doughnut Shop as soon as the game had ended.
