Another Kind of Love
Life Is Beautiful
Load Full StorySombra, having been raise under the hateful regime of Oxibem The Skeletal, wasn't sure he actually knew anything about himself. He eventually escaped the lava fields, for the frozen North. Not much of an improvement, but it was a start. The crystals, they called to him with soothingly sweet voices, accepting him for who he was.
He loved them, but not as much as a beautiful, steel-coated stallion on his guard. Heavy Strike, he had said his name was. How odd for a pegasus. Not that such a relationship was even possible, that was. He was an old man next to that strapping, young pegasus ... Maybe Onaeti could give him some advice ... No, it wasn't worth it. She had just given birth and all.
For years, he watched from afar, aging more and more with each day that passed, but knowing, should he reveal his feelings, he would get his heart stomped on. Finally, he just didn't care anymore. He slicked back his hair and approached the guard.
"Yes, your Highness?" Heavy asked, bowing.
"Please come to dinner with me," Sombra said, feeling his cheeks burn.
Heavy looked around, like he was waiting for something.
"Yes, your Majesty."
"It's Sombra. Call me Sombra," Sombra commanded. This was no way to have a relationship start. But, maybe it didn't have to be a relationship. Was he forcing it too much? Overthinking it was a given. "Come with me to my bedchambers. I require your ass ... er, assistance."
