Rainbow Dash woke up to the beeping of her alarm. Yawning, she forced herself up and slowly remembered her new job at the rainbow factory. She tried to turn the alarm off, but after failing several times she simply hit it and headed to the kitchen. Still tired from waking up so early she made some coffee and ate breakfast quietly with barely a thought. As she drank her coffee, she started to wonder if this would be her new routine- get up super early, eat breakfast, rush to work, come home in the evening, clear the skies, go to bed. Not that she didn't like her new job, she was in fact very excited to be working at the one and only rainbow factory! It was just that she wanted some free time to.. perhaps spend with her friends who always hung out together. Rainbow could feel herself really waking up at last and breathed deeply to calm herself. She smiled and walked out the door in a good mood, ready for her new job. She could see the factory off in the distance, and whispered to herself: "This is gonna be awesome!" She flapped her wings to start off the short flight and was soon flying at full speed until she neared the entrance. She then slowed down to avoid crashing, cause that was the last thing she needed to happen. Especially on her FIRST day. She walked quickly, barely able to contain herself, over to the doors and was greeted by a pony dressed in the rainbow factory worker's uniform. She smiled at excited pony. "You must be Rainbow Dash" she said and grabbed from behind her a uniform identical to the one she was wearing. "Why don't you go in and put this on. As it is your first day I'll lead you to your color and the group you'll be working with" the pony said and lead Rainbow Dash into the factory. Rainbow tried to stop herself from squealing in excitement. Very few ponies were accepted to work here as the work was very dangerous, and it was important that there were no mistakes. She'd also heard that two of the wonderbolts worked here, so that also excited her. Maybe she'd be working with one of them! As she entered the rainbow factory, she saw how big it really was. There was a huge open space at the bottom floor but going up she could see the six levels for each color of the rainbow, and each large glass tube that stuck out from the wall and lead to the only station on the bottom floor: the sorter. The sorter was the station where the colors were sorted, and finally sent out into the sky as a finished rainbow. Of course it would seem very simple of a task, but it was not at all simple. Most of the time, scanners and machinery would not work on rainbows, so they had to be sorted by hoof which was already difficult because the colors were actually very heavy and hard to move. THEN, they had to be kept sorted as they were carried out into the final tube that would shoot them out into the sky. And they were invisible when indoors, so that was also a problem. The ponies had to wear special glasses that told them which color was which. But ah, the results were beautiful. When shot out into the sky, the rainbows would appear slowly and stay for a short while. It puzzled some ponies why rainbows were so important, but they just... were. Rainbow Dash watched all the workers doing their jobs and wondered where she'd be working. She followed the pony who had given her the uniform and walked up several flights of stairs until they reached the yellow floor. "This is where you'll be working" said the pony. "My name is Sun Swirl and I'm happy to help you any time you need! I'll just be at the entrance where you first saw me ok?" she smiled again. Rainbow Dash nodded. "Well, good luck then! The ponies of your group will show you what you need to do and I hope you have fun working here. Bye!" said Sun Swirl, and she head back downstairs. Rainbow Dash looked at each of the other three ponies in her group. None of them were wonderbolts but they all looked like nice ponies to be working with. "Um.. hi" Rainbow Dash said, not quite sure how to introduce herself. "Hi" said one of the ponies. "I'm Lightning Blaze, and this is Sparkle and MistyCloud!" he said. The others nodded. "Glad to have ya here!" said the one called Sparkle, and MistyCloud nodded again. "Thanks!" said Rainbow Dash. "so... what is it that I do here exac-" she was cut off by a scream from downstairs. "THIEF!" which brought everyone's attention. Even the top floor ponies. "Uh oh" said Rainbow Dash as she hurried downstairs with all the others. Sun Swirl was screaming and chasing a cloaked figure who ran quickly out the door and flew off before anyone could say anything. "wh.." Sparkle started but was silenced by Lightning Blaze. "What happened?" asked another worker. Sun Swirl turned around with tears in her eyes. "Th-th-the colors... the colors were stolen" she cried and passed out. "WHAT? How!?" everyone panicked. Rainbow Dash looked up and could see the power from each station was gone. The colors really were gone! She dashed out the door and tried to see if the thief was anywhere in sight, but she had no luck. "Well, there's only one thing left to do.." she sighed and flew off in the direction she'd seen the pony fly. "I'll get back those missing colors" she growled.
