Dinky Doo was working on her latest spell as she was thinking about somepony. A special somepony, grey, bubbles cutie mark, yellow mane, crossed eyes, and a special heart. She was thinking about none other than the mother that she loved. Derpy Hooves... The day she had left the pony that she loved... Was the hardest thing ever. She loved her mother more than anything else in all of Equestria. She stopped working on that spell, picked up a stack of papers, sat down at her chair, got her quill, and started writing...
Dear mom,
I just started thinking about you again... I couldn't help it. I stopped doing a spell that I currently was trying to write this letter saying, I love you! I know that when I left, you wanted me to not be sad all the time. I haven't, until today, I remember the times we spent together. Like the day that we went to Canterlot on Hearths Warming Eve together. On our way there, many ponies laughed and pointed at you... I thought it was only in Ponyville... The place we called home. But it wasn't... It seemed to be all over Equestria. But when I tried to ask you if you were going to do anything, you didn't answer me. We kept walking... I could tell that it hurt you, but, you never wanted to tell me.
I'm proud to call you my mom, you're the best mare in all of Equetria in my eyes. Even though you couldn't see very well, your heart was still big. I just wish that I could see you everyday, but I know your job as a mail mare is difficult, and you have to work so late to stay in Ponyville. But since of your big heart and willing to work, I believe that if you ever grow tired and need a place to crash as your retirement, I'll take you under my hooves. Just as a gift for being the best mother, and I'm always proud of that. I miss seeing you, the days we spent together, the times we laughed and played together, it was always the best days of my life. I only wish that I was a young filly again, so then we could be together again.
I know mothers day is coming up and you'll probably be working hard, but it all depends on your boss. I wish we could have lunch on that day if you have no work that day... It would be great if we could do it the same way that we had done it all my fillyhood... Go to the outdoor cafe, chat, listen to ponies laugh at you, then go home and make some muffins together, I know that they aren't that good. The only thing that mattered was that we had a good time doing it together. We'd laugh everytime, we always got muffin dough in our manes and on ourselves, but we'd get a bath after words. I make muffins once in a blue moon, but it's not the same... The way you taught me, is the way I'd do it, but I never laughed, almost never got the muffin dough in my mane. It wasn't the same as we had done it together. Happy almost mothers day, I hope to see you soon. Hopefully sometime soon... I love you very much mom...

She signed the note with the name Derpy had called her all her fillyhood. She read the note very carefully crying again as she started to remember the times as well with Derpy by her side. Adressed it to her, hoping that she would find it in her bag when she delivered the mail the day that it got to Ponyville. Later she found a picture that was taken that day that she had left Ponyville to follow her cutie mark, copied the picture, and placed it in the envelope to Derpy.
Thats why she's the best mommy in the whole world!
That was what came to her mind as she placed it into her mailbox...
Derpy Hooves was working on mothers day yet once again. She grabbed her mail bag and went on her route... She had to go to Bon Bon's first...
"Hey Derpy... Happy Mothers day to you! Where is Dinky?" Bon Bon asked grabbing her mail from Derpy.
" Dinky is gone and I have to work. Her and I can't really do a mother's day when I work." Derpy answered.
" Oh, I'm sorry Derpy... Well I have something cooking, would you like a taste?"
"Sure... I would like to have a taste."
Bon Bon let Derpy in her house and gave Derpy some of what she was cooking. Derpy took a bite, the dessert melted in her mouth... It was so good.
" It's really good Bon Bon, thanks... Have a great mother's day..." Derpy said as she left Bon Bon's home.
She continued her route and lifted the next letter. It was for her...
Who would be writing to me? Derpy wondered. I guess that I'll just wait when I get my break and read the letter. Who wrote it?
Derpy then looked at the return address, it said, To the best mommy. -Your Little Muffin Tears streamed down her grey face. Her little muffin wrote to her... I must ask for a break ASAP! For my muffin! Derpy said to herself.
She went back to work after delivering the rest of her mail, and went to the office that read Crafty Crate She walked inside and looked at the brown buff pegasus sitting at a desk.
"Crafty Crate? Is there anyway that I could take my break a little early. I'll end it early." Derpy asked.
"Yeah yeah whatever. Did you finish your route?" Crafty Crate asked.
"Yes I did sir."
"Go on ahead... I don't care, as long as you come back to work."
Derpy left the office and grabbed the letter that she had received. Derpy flew home with thoughts running in her mind. What's wrong with Dinky? Why did she send me a letter? How did it get here on Mother's Day? Once Derpy had arrived to her home, the door was unlocked. She had remembered locking the door before she left. Oh no. She walked into the house and turned the light on.The house was empty, not a sound crept through the house.
Derpy walked through the house to see if she was imagining things. The living room's light was off. She flipped the switch on, there were 3 ponies in her house. One that was a brown earth pony, a pink unicorn and a dark purple unicorn.
"Hey Derpy... I guessed you would come here after you found Dinky's letter." Dr. Whooves said.
"She doesn't seem hurt. What happened?" Derpy asked.
"I sent you that letter for you to read. Can't you read it? I want you to read it and see what I wrote for you." Dinky said.
Derpy opened the letter, there was a picture that slipped out. Derpy picked up the picture looked at it. Tears streamed down her face. Then she opened the folder letter and began reading.
