Twilight's been spending a lot of time away from Ponyville with her new studies in Canterlot. Everypony knows it's a temporary thing, and goes about their business cheerfully. But with the new princess's absence, Trixie's horrifying past again haunts her, as memories she buried so deep crawl their way free. Memories not even Twilight knew Trixie was hiding.

The memories stir.

Trixie bolted upright, letting out a shriek. Panting, she raised a shaky hoof to her brow, wiping the cold sweat from her maneline. She began to breathe easier as she reminded herself that the vivid pictures still in her head were from a dream. She turned to her left to make sure she hadn’t woken her sleeping partner, but her breathing ceased momentarily as she remembered.

She was alone.

Her breathing once again became rapid as her lavender eyes darted around the room, every shadow manipulating her senses. Making every shadow move, every sound a threat lurking in the darkness.

Trixie shakily turned over and drew the star and moon blanked up around her, longing for her lover’s presence. She rolled over on the white pillow and began to softly cry.
