Time never stands still
The end of the Dark

The decision was easy to make.
I was forced since I was four to carry weapons, to struggle a daily battle against the pride of my father and later the challengers he found for me. My fillyhood was filled with pain, sorrow and hate and I was sick of it, sick to carry these emotions in my heart, sick to carry these emotions to my enemies, to use these emotions to life the live my father had chosen for me.
I was sick of it.
'It's over' my thoughts are getting sharper, quicker. I feel... it was hard to describe. I kinda feel warm, fulfilled, true.
A loud crack makes me jump.
Garnjiels rune dies.
I turn my head and look at Garnjiel just as it starts to fall apart, the giant crack that ran through the blade finally destroyed the blade, more cracks appear weakening the blade even more.
After carrying this blade for five years, having killed dozens of enemies, shedding blood everywhere.
It finally fell apart.
The shards of Garnjiel land softly on the carpet. The moment they touch the floor they start to eradiate a bright light, a crimson light, and desintegrate into thin air.
Only the hilt is now left.
A white flash takes away my sight.
"Mommy! Mommy!" a filly version of myself runs to the shadowy figure, trying to hide behind her legs, I cower, making myself as small as possible.
A loud crash echoes through the hallway before the room.
"Did you make him angry again?" she whispers coldly, I nod, "you know that nothing can save you from that" she takes a step to the side, ignoring the little shivering form, I'm out in the open again.
"Where is that brat!?" Crimson crashes in practically tearing apart the door, he sees me, "you tried to cover behind your mother again!?" he walks closer biting down onto my ear and pulling me away.
"Oww! Daddy you hurt me!" he let my ear go. I look up to him, hope in my eyes, hope that he finally understood my pleading.
He slaps me.
"What did you call me!?" he asks angrily, shouting at me. I cower even more.
"I'm sorry! Sir! Sir, I'm sorry!" I answer quickly hoping to escape the punishment. It was too late. It was always too late.
He takes off his massive belt.
The belt was what I feared the most.
His belt was made of dragonskin, dragonscales and gems as ornaments.
I see the belt rise up into the air, ready to rush back down at me. I close my eyes, tears streaming down my face.
The heavy sting of the first hit.
Another flash.
I'm back in Celestias study, looking onto the letter.
It opened my eyes, it granted me the vision what my life had been before, what I've done. A loud, metallic sound behind me surprises me, I turn my head. Garnjiels hilt has fallen to the ground and was now lying there only a tiny part of the blade was left, not bigger than a dagger. It's magic, the magic surrounding my body disappears.
I look at the broken blade, it's bloody hilt and sigh.
My eyes open again and I pick up the hilt, now that it's magic is gone the hilt is far heavier than before.
'One thing left to do' I walk, the hilt in my mouth, to the door, opening it. I see Luna, a shocked expression rushing over her face. Only a second later her face shows realisation.
"Well" she starts, "since the blade is broken, I guess you have made a decision" she looks at me, expecting. I nod and drop the hilt slowly, looking back up at her.
"There is one thing I want to do before you relaese me from the oath" I state, Luna raising a brow.
She nods and picks the hilt up.
"One second" I turn around and run into the study and pick the letter up. Walking back out I nod at Luna.
We disappear in a flash and reappear at the statues of my comrades and myself. The hilt hits the ground with a loud clang as Luna dropps it.
I pick the hilt up.
Walk closer to my own statue.
And ram the broken blade deep into the statues chest.
I look at the statue. Something was off.
"Hey Luna" I don't turn around to see her reaction, "can you alter the statue permamently?"
"Yes, of course" she answers.
"Change the blade to stone and return it to it's former glory, stuck in the way it is now" I close my eyes, waiting.
I hear the sound of grinding stone, cracking and other sounds telling me that she does what I wanted.
I open my eyes again.
The statue was the same as before, the difference was now that Garnjiel was impaled through it's chest, it looked exactly how I wanted it. My eyes wander down to the inscription. It had changed too.

Lost in time, she returned to safe her liege. She did so but her wounds were mortally, she died embraced by Lunas hooves and Celestias sun. Her last wish,
To be free.
Her soul may rest in peace, embraced by the warmth of the sun and the peace of the moon.
She will never be forgotten.
"Pretty sappy don't you think?" I turn back at Luna to see her smile.
"You should be happy" she answers, "not everypony gets something like this" I return the smile and nod, looking back at the statues.
"What are you going to do now?" Luna asks walking closer to me, sitting down right next to me.
I think about it for a minute, enjoying the silence, I sigh, "there is so much I want to do" I look at her, "I don't even now where to start" Luna looks at me.
She coughs and gets a hoof up to her nostrils, "maybe you should start by washing off the changeling blood" she gags.
I look down onto myself.
I laugh.
"It's a beginning" I state.
~~~~~~~~
Thirty years later.
"Mommy!" I turn around to see the little filly run to me, jumping at me she hugs me tightly.
"Hey sweety" I answer returning the hug, I look up to her father, Shining was smiling as he walks closer and gives me a quick kiss.
"Hey there" he speaks softly, "have the others arrived yet?" he asks as he puts off his coat, it was a windy winter day.
I nod, "they arrived half an hour ago" letting my little filly go I nuzzle her, I look at Shining and smile.
A fake stern look on my face I look at my daughter.
"Did you behave yourself?" she shrugs, but then she sees my smile and sticks out her tongue.
"I always behave myself!" she answers, I laugh and hug her again, I look up at Shining and see him nod.
"Well then" I get up again, "sweety why don't you get your brother and aunt Twilight? I'm pretty sure they are hungry" I smile.
"Okay!" she squeaks, running out happily. My eyes fall on the sun shaped cutie-mark on her flank as she runs out of sight.
I look at Shining, his worried look.
"What did Luna say?" I ask him slowly.
He lowers his head.
I nod and sigh.
'Sadness' a voice in the back of my head whispers.
I smile, suppressing the emotion.
"Well" he looks at me, at my smile, "we won't lose her, she will always remeber us" Shining smiles and walks closer to hug me.
"You're right" he answers hugging me tightly, "she will always shine upon us."
I sigh happily, hugging him tighter as I hear the hoofsteps of my children and Twilight.
I look at Shining and kiss him showing him all my passion.
We stop the kiss, looking into each others eyes and hug again.
"Happy heartswarming eve" I whisper into his ear.
"Happy heartswarming eve" he answers.
'You were right' I whisper in my head.
'Joy' a other voice answers.
'All the good luck there is in Equestria' my children and there purple aunt walk into the room, seeing Shining and me embraced they walk up to join us.
We are cuddled up in one big group hug.
'It's right here in this room' a tear of joy running down my face.
'Thank you'
THE END
Author's Note
Yay! Well yeah, this is the super happy, sappy ending. Yes I know Shining x OC is not a good combination but hey, it's Alternate universe so screw everyone who dislikes it.... No, no don't screw you....
This ending is what I want to call the 'Harmony' ending, it's short and doesn't say much and it throws up even more question, it kinda feels like an open end, but I like it this way. Leaves room for imagination.
So yes this is the 'end' for this path. A happy ending, like I wanted.
And don't worry this fiction isn't over yet! Plenty more where that came from.
Well... Whatever...
See ya next chapter.
