Batmare Begins
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterLaying in the warehouse in Celestia knows where with a gaping hole straight through her chest, Rainbow Dash reflected on her life and what lead her to this inevitable end to her epic tale. She thought about how it all began, that night in the alley, how she saw her parents slaughtered before her very eyes and how she vowed to never let anypony have to go through what she had endured that night and every one that followed it.
"Having a nice nap?" Her executioner asked, her slender silhouette blocking the unnaturally dim light of the hanging bulb.
"Batmare we have you surrounded! We both know there's no escape from this!" Rainbow Dash heard an Irish police pony call out through a megaphone.
"I guess he's right about that." She sputtered, coughing up blood as she did so. Her captor moved forward with an outstretched hoof ready to pull of her mask.
Rainbow Dash tried to remove herself from her body, she thought about her friends and what they'd think. She couldn't bare to think about what Fluttershy would do, probably just sit there and cry. After all the stories cooked up by that mare 'Gabby Gums' they'd probably just act like they didn't know her, after all, as far as anypony was concerned she was just another masked villain eager to torment the innocent.
No, she knew her friends and they wouldn't do that. She would live and she would tell her friends everything.
"On second thought. Anticipation will make this so much sweeter." The demented pony before her decided. "Besides, I've got things to do; schools to blow up." She chuckled. "You'll be all over the news in a few hours Batmare. I'll be a hero, the pony to bring this tyrant to justice, they'll probably throw me a parade."She gloated. "Actually, that gives me an idea."
"You'll never get away with this." Rainbow choked through the dry sensation collecting in her throat.
"But I already have."
"There are others."
"Then I'll kill them too!" The mare snapped. She then slinked closer to the defeated pegasus pony and put on her best maternal smile. "Hang in there baby." She whispered then stood up and walked off, laughing madly as she did so. She slammed the door shut and Rainbow was left to herself in the almost pitch darkness with nothing but her mask and squad of police stallions hammering on the door to her concrete prison.
