Celestia is dead. Nightmare Moon is banished. Luna has lost her magic. The nation she and her sister forged fell apart. Luna has retreated from the world and let to go its way. The sun has faded from being the beacon in the sky to nothing more than a bright star moving across the sky.

Centuries later Twilight Sparkle meets a mare claiming to be a goddess. Natural that is impossible, but Twilight stills finds herself following this mare's request to met her in the middle of the Everfree Forest.

Within the small town of Ponyville trouble is brewing. Tired of being under the iron hoof of Canterlot's martial law the ponies are thinking of taking another path. And stuck trying to keep the peace, Rarity and Applejack are finding it isn't that easy, and perhaps it is impossible.
