Grey Scale is confused. She doesn't know anything about herself, or where she came from. All she has is a name.

Why is she taller than everypony else? Why are her colours muted and melancholy when theirs are bright and cheerful? Why does she have wings and a horn when everypony around her has either one, the other, or neither? Why do ponies run in fear of her eyes and cutie mark?

And most importantly, why are there two competing voices in her head, telling her what to do?
