Escape to a new world
The prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterI go to my usual dumpster hidden away in a darken alley in hopes of getting to sleep. My whole body was hurting so bad, but I knew I had to keep going for myself and my hopes for a better life.I couldn't sleep looking back on the torture and groutesqe end to my life as I knew it... my little brother. As I laid down in the dumpster I stared up into the barely visible night sky and saw something I never thought I would see... a shooting star! When I saw it cross the night sky, I quickly made a wish a wish for a better life, then closed my eyes and slipped into a dreamless sleep.
(Two months later)
It's been a while since I thought about how much I've been living on the streets for the pass few months, and I haven't really thought about my family that often either. I rubbed the scars on my right cheek then the other ones on my back, chest, and legs bringing back sad memory's of them hurting me... killing my body... killing...me. The more I rubbed my scars the more I thought of what to do now. Should I kill myself? Should I start a new life? How will I start a new life without getting a chance because I don't think I will ever get a chance again.
(The next day)
"Ow! My head!" I rubbed my head as I got up from the dumpster that I slept in last night. I felt sore from sleeping on the cold, hard, and uncomfortable metal floor of the dumpster that I called home. My stomach emitted a loud grumble to reminding me of the hunger that always seem to be present in my life. I ran down a few blocks to a local Burger King looking at the disgusting greed of others not even showing the least care for homeless kid. I then started to search through the trash cans to scavenge for some leftover food in hopes to find something eatable, but of course at 3 in the morning my search came up nothing, it was still to early for the trash to be taken out sadly. My clothes and by that I mean only clothes were dirty, ragged, and torn from my current living status. This was only made worse by the old rotten banana peels and other stuff that I can't even describe that was left clinging to them from my place of residence.
I then decided to do the thing I hated to do beg. But the more I begged the more I noticed people were as cold and heartless as statues and walked passed me. No words could describe how depressed, cold and lonley as people were laughing, smiling and stupid crap I lost along time ago.
I decided to continued my search for food by looking through the garbage around several other places nearby for anything to eat even a nibble would help. I found something I never found in a trash can when I foraged deep in the last trash can I found today. It was a letter that was to high of quality to be in the dump and judging by the stains it had been here for awhile, and it seemed almost untouched by the garbage around it and it was unopened. It had an odd symbol on the front which peaked my curiosity so I decided to rip it open and read it, I mean why not? Who would throw out a perfectly good letter unopened? When I opened the letter I found it was addressed to... Me?!? I was dumb founded that there was a letter address to me in a trash can.
Dear Chuck Inman,
You don't know me yet though I've been watching you for the past three years. I have seen the pain and suffering you were going through in your life, and it broke my heart to see you dumped on the side of the street left to your untimely faith. So I want to help you if you say yes to my offer, my student Twillight and her friends will help you live into my land of Equestria with the rest of my little ponies. What do you say? Do you want to come and join or would you like me prove I'm real first?
From your friend,
Princess Celestia.
"I...I want more proof." I said to myself. The note suddenly began to glow a bright yellow as if it would burst into flames any second, but after a few moments the light faded away leaving new words on the paper. I began to read them and got something I didn't expect.
"Will be here at midnight, wait for us. We want to give you another chance at a new life." Ugh... now I have to wait! I thought before deciding to run toward the park and gather my meager belongings. I ran as fast as I could towards the park where I had hidden the most important thing left in my life. If this is my chance that I longed for to start a new life then I have to take it and never look back.
(Midnight)
I was waiting in the same ragged old clothes that came from my horrible parents that day long ago and I was pretty sure it was close to midnight...
"Hello Chuck! Were you waiting long?" A voice came from behind me. I quickly turned around to come face to face with seven... ponies? The one closest to me had lavender coat with a dark blue mane and tail with a strip of purple, pink running through them. The three on it's left had similar bright colors, the first having a white coat, and deep purple mane and tail. The next one had an orange coat with blonde mane and tail, followed by one with a light blue coat, and to my continuing amazement a rainbow mane and tail. The other two on the right of the lavender one had a light pink coat, and a darker pink mane and tail. The last one was difficult to make out as it tried to hide behind the all pink pony, but I could make out the coat of this scared pony to be a pale yellow along with a pale pink mane and tail. The one standing behind the others was larger, and had a white coat with a flowing mane and tail of pale pink, green, blue, and slightly darker blue.
"How do you know my name?" I asked avoiding the question, and watched the largest pony smile sadly at me.
"Didn't you read the letter? I've known you for three years and was sad to see all that had happened to you, like the scars on your cheek." I rubbed my cheek sadly remembering the pain of being beaten and the lingering pain I got from touching it.
"How can I trust you?" I asked scared of these new creatures that stood before me. The butter colored pony yelped slightly from my question, but Celestia spoke up.
"Listen Chuck, we have all seen what happened to you, and all we want to do is help you. You don't know anything about us, but all we want to do is give you a new start in life." She gave me a truthful look as I thought for a second about what she was offering me.
"In Ponyville we have all kind of ponies and of all different ages. It's a chance for you to connect with ponies the way we do, and it's a perfect chance for you to meet somepony. Maybe even a chance for you to find or have a family that truly cares for you." Her words seemed genuine. I want a new chance and maybe even the chance to meet someone that I can come to love again. I need to do this for myself. I thought as i looked over the ponies in front me once more.
"Okay... I'm coming with you to your world..." They all smiled happily, but I shot them a glare before continuing "but I swear if you try anything to hurt me, you will regret it."
They all nodded slowly in agreement, but I could tell by the smile on there faces that they were happy with my decision. Suddenly a portal opened up behind them, and they motioned me to walk towards it. "Wait!" They stopped and looked at me in confusion. Turning slowly towards Celestia I voiced one last question. "How do I know this will all work out in the end for me?" Celestia thought for a moment before giving me a reasonably good answer.
"I give you my word." I nodded letting her 'okay I trust you'.
I only had one thought in mind when I walked up to the shimmering light and stopped. "This is a good choice... I know it is." Then I walked into the white portal smiling.
