"Joker, no! What are you doing?!" He exclaimed, frightened. Joker looked down at her back hooves, seeing the cloud floor. She swished her hooves around, cutting the soft, white ground with the tips. Joker was then lifted up onto the stallions' back, feeling all his muscles and bones move beneath his skin. There was a silence between them, until there was a little peep from the young mare "Daddy, can you take me to Ponyville someday? I want to touch the ground." "Dear, we've talked about this. You have many brothers and sisters that want to stay here, in Cloudsdale. Maybe sometime they'll lighten up and decide that Ponyville isn't as boring as they thought." He replied, finishing with a deep laugh. Joker just huffed, and crossed her hooves. Her father was a WEATHER PONY, he went to Ponyville all the time. He's even touched GRASS before. Jokers' anger was suddenly shifted toward Discord. If he hadn't killed her family, Joker wouldn't have ended up in Cloudsdale, she wouldn't have been adopted by this pegasi family, and everypony wouldn't hate her for her lack of flight. Joker was going to touch the ground, and she didn't care what it took. Author's Note In this story, I'd like to say Joker is about 10, 11, or 12. She still hasn't gotten her cutiemark, and is looking for her purpose in life. It's not sad or dark yet, but it will be in maybe a few more chapters. Chapter 3 - Hitting Ground (Badly)Joker closed her eyes, as she felt her body quickly sink through the soft, fluffy clouds. They brushed her hooves, legs, torso, and finally engulfed her entirely. The feeling was exhilarating, breath-taking, exciting, as she descended from the heavens. Suddenly, something inside her snapped. She was falling. Joker opened her eyes and looked around. She began flailing frantically, screaming for help. "Daddy! Daddy!" She cried, tears flying up toward Cloudsdale as she was pulled downward, but to no avail. Nopony came to her rescue, and now she was going to die. She hit something hard, hearing bones snap, as well as stone. Joker wailed in pain, as she bled out in the grass. She only heard her screams until a blue mare suddenly came into view. "Are you okay?" The rainbow, maned pony said in a almost male-like voice. "I... I-" Joker managed to squeak, tears flowing down her face, then, she blacked out from the pain. Author's Note I apologize if this is getting grim, I've told you already, I love dark things. I'm also sorry this wasn't longer. Chaper 5 - Meeting AJStaying in the hospital for a few months was boring, even with occasional visits from Rainbow Dash, her savior, and her interest in the "Daring Do" series they had available. Eventually, her wounds healed, and Joker was let out of the hospital. Rainbow Dash came to pick her up, and show her around Ponyville. "There's a few ponies I'd like you to meet. They're good friends of mine." Rainbow Dash said, politely. "Who are they?" Joker replied, with genuine interest. "You'll like them, one of them is an Alicorn!" RD exclaimed. Jokers' eyes lit up immediately, she had never met a PRINCESS before! Skipping happily, Rainbow Dash led her to an Apple Farm, where they were greeted by an orange earthpony, with a nice little hat. "Well, heya, RD!" She said with a strong, western twang. " Hi, Apple Jack!" Rainbow Dash said. Both ponies hoof bumped. "So, what can ah' do ya for?" Apple Jack asked Rainbow Dash. "Well, there's someone I'd like to introduce you to." Rainbow Dash told Apple Jack. She then nudged Joker, and Joker peeked out from behind Rainbow Dash. "Hey! Your that lil' filly that fell from th' sky a few months ago, aren't ya?" Apple Jack queried. Joker just blushed shyly and swirled her hoof on the ground. "Y- yeah..." Joker replied.I think I'm gonna like Ponyville. Joker said to herself. Author's Note AGAIN, APOLOGIES IF IT SUCKS. >:U Chapter 6 - Why, Hello"Hey, why don't 'cha explore th' barn a bit?" Joker just rubbed her head. "Hey! I've never seen you 'round here. Who are you?" The mare asked. She seemed to have a bit of a twang too. "I-... I'm Joker." Joker said quietly. "Who are you?" "Ah'm Applebloom! Welcome t' Ponyville!" Applebloom said, excitedly. She quickly glanced at Jokers' flank, and Joker skittered away a bit. "No need t' worry! ah'm a blank flank too!" Applebloom announced, showing her markless flank. "Y' know, me and my friends have an organization dedicated t' gettin' yer cutie mark." Jokers' eyes lit up. "Where do I sign!" She said, happily. "Wait! We have t' ask Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle first!" Applebloom said. Applebloom and Joker walked up to Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack. They gave Joker and Applebloom permission to walk about Ponyville. "You'll like th' CMC." Applebloom said. "What does CMC stand for?" Joker asked. "Why, Cutie Mark Crusaders, o' course!" All the fillies in the room started whooping and laughing as soon as the statement was said. "I bet even PONYVILLE wouldn't accept a pony that hasn't even WALKED BEFORE!" Another pony said. "Guys, why are you so mean to me?" The little blue mare sniffled. She tearfully laid her head on her desk until the teacher trotted in. "Now, now, class! Stop teasing Joker so we can get to our lesson!" The teacher said, and started explaining the dynamics of flying. Joker raised her hoof in the middle of the teacher speaking. "Yes, Joker?" "Why don't you teach us something BESIDES flying? Like, history!" Joker rebelled. "Not only can she not fly, she's also a HISTORY NERD!" One young colt said, and all the little foals burst out in laughter once again. Joker just sank in her chair, and tried to be invisible. The school day ended, and Joker sat at her desk, waiting for her dad to come in. She waited for what seemed like an eternity, until he finally opened the doors. "Sorry I'm late, there was a rainstorm scheduled in Ponyville, and I-" "YOU WERE IN PONYVILLE AGAIN?!" Joker shouted, angrily. "Why don't you ever take ME to Ponyville?!" Tears of anger welled in her eyes. She hopped on to her fathers strong spine, and tried to be comfortable despite the muscles of his wings rippling under his coat. He dropped Joker off in her bed, upstairs. "Bye, dad." Joker said. When he left, she sat up. "I'm going to touch ground." She said, happily. Then, she jumped off her bed. "You know, you were out for a while, and pronounced legally dead for 2 minutes! Your story is truly that of a miracle." The nurse cooed. "Wh- who brought me here?" Joker said, hoarsely. "Why, Rainbow Dash did! You were lucky she was there! She was able to bring you to the hospital before you died." The nurse said, little sparks of joy shooting from her horn. "Who's... Rainbow Dash?" Joker questioned. At that moment, the nurse loudly whistled, and a blue mare, about the same color as Joker, actually, came into view. She opened her wings happily and flapped them a bit. "Hey, kid. Are you feeling better?" Rainbow Dash said, inclining her head a bit. "Y- yeah... Hey? Where are we?" Joker asked. "Ponyville Hospital, of course!" Rainbow Dash replied. Joker suddenly showed a smile beaming with joy. She was finally in Ponyville. "When you've fully recovered, I'll take ya' back home, i-" Rainbow Dash started to speak, but Joker quickly shook her head, despite the throbbing pain. "NO! ... I mean, I'd actually like to stay in Ponyville." Joker said, quickly. Rainbow Dash tilted her head again, but then just shrugged. "Alrighty, then. Hope you get better soon." And with that, Rainbow Dash left the room. Author's Note I apologize if this chapter makes Joker look like a Mary Sue, surviving such a fall. BUT. It does mention that she DID die. The doctors were just able to get her heart beating again.
